This.
It's the concept, the idea of what it could be, and what Digimon world 1 acomplished.
It's definitely not the games, definitely not the shit tier anime girls, and most definitely not the stories, it's the concept iself
Digimon world on PS1 was a really crazy game. Like combination of tamagochi, rpg and adventure game.
This damn game has quite complex digivolution system basically diffrent stats, amount of care mistakes and weight can lead to diffrent digimon. And unironically you need a fucking online guide to get digimon you want.
The first reason is that it's stupid in a cool way. It's silly and absurd but takes itself seriously. But not up to much or else there wouldn't be digimon like Sukamon or Nanimon. Only the recent stuff is up its own ass and can be ruined by remembering living data poo is a thing.
The second is contrairionism but not in a mean way. This place attracts people who aren't into the mainstream so it's more likely that this place will have digifags and bromons than other websites.
It's a naturally replayable game. Most people who like it played it at least twice. But on the subject of replaying DW1. There's a rom hack that has a bunch of convenience changes if anyone is interested. There are also several add-on hacks that restore the original life span and whatever if you just want to use the several digimon it adds.
https://cdromance.com/psx-iso/digimon-world-maeson-hack/
I liked Digimon and Pokemon while growing up but I liked the Digimon Anime more and I fell out of the Pokemon stuff after Gen 3. Also digimon just gives me more nostalgia for older days for some reason.
Gonna be real with you, I don't like the nostalgia pandering too much even if I do have nostalgia for the series. I'd rather just rewatch the older movies. Actually I just miss childhood in general. I tried to get in to ghost game but didn't really get in to it like child me would.
NTA I couldn't get into Ghost Game either. The characters were all flat, which you need to nail when making an episodic show.
HOLY FUCK DIGIMON WORLD WAS A GOOD GAME
Why hasn't there ever been a game like it since?
There were two RE:digitized and Next Order. Both suck because they try to be for people who like the anime and World 1 at the same time, which is reasonable but done really badly and unfun. You could tell the team that made them didn't understand the appeal of Digimon World.
New digimon movies especially the ones based on the original kids are fucking travesties, literally just pandering to milk nostalgia money that disrespects the original material so much it might as well just be a japanese guy shitting on your screen
>Also digimon just gives me more nostalgia for older days for some reason
I think it's because the themes aren't really present in modern media anymore.
Internet is ubiquitous, not a fantasy and so anime like Tamers, Lain and Eva have that 'nostalgia' feel.
>Unsolved
What does that mean exactly? It does the training thing and everything, but I don't think they're as obtuse with the evolution lines as Digimon World 1 although you're still on your own as to what stats you need for a digimon unless you have a guide.
Re Digitize removed everything especial about world 1
Next Order was Re Digitize but worse
Then Cyber Sleuth ruined any chance of them going back to that style
Wargreymon moves away from the original Digimon aesthetic, which was unnecessary detail. In my opinion, the thing that made Digimon so appealing was there was always a few bits to their design that stood out against the normal flow of the design. The further the Digimon went into their stages, the more unnecessary features would be added to their designs.
WarGreymon's the first example of a Digimon whose design choices feel pretty much uniform. Aside for the tuft of hair under the helmet, everything else fits together well, which actually makes it less interesting when compared to Digimon's usual style. MetalGarurumon, although suffering from the same problem, is not as bad due to the machinery being more complex than WarGreymon. Even then though, it commits the grave sin of displaying sleek, more modern looking machinery instead of Digimon's signature retro machine look.
>Digimon are supposed to evolve by having new features with a distinct influence slapped onto an existing base to improve functionality, like someone repurposing an chunk of code from an old program and adding new code onto it to do what they want
That's actually a pretty neat design ethos if that was something anyone at Bandai ever actually intended, I think Digimon would have more appeal if that was a concept that was consistently represented instead of just doing whatever the fuck they felt like from project to project
>replay game >determined to finish it where my younger self could not >get an Andromon and went all the way to 45 prosp points >fade away >can't get another mon strong enough to go through the final dungeon >filtered again
this game's too hard
I unlocked beetle land iirc but I'm too much of a brainlet to not work my new mons to death before they get to do anything
kabuterimon and kuwagamon
also training on a facility with baby stage digimon will upgrade them and increase gains
piximons training manual will also boost your gains, as well has hawk radishes and super carrots
you really shouldn't have trouble raising your 2+ mons if you did some prep with your first one
It's basically just very fast playthrough of someone who knows what they're doing.
Train Agumon, get Birdramon, get Spinning Shot, obliterate the game. You can do this casually without any problems.

I get that it's an old video but the WR is under an hour now. Granted the speedrunning autists have found rng manipulation so they can do a bunch of bonus reel training.

I like this one precisely because it doesn't do the bonus training shit which is something a casual player definitely cannot do (at least not several times in a row)

Haven't seen the video but even the most cursed tyrannomon can complete the game with spit fire as long as you keep him healthy. spitfire is so fast it interrupts almost everyone with the excepcion of attacks like all ranged beam which are instantly cast and don't get interrupted (which is what machinedramon uses)

>Haven't seen the video but even the most cursed tyrannomon can complete the game with spit fire as long as you keep him healthy.
Not just keeping it healthy but also training it's HP enough so that it can actually survive a hit from the bosses
Other than that sure
>piximon
I've played the game 3 times and have seen that fucker ONCE and my poor champion couldn't take it, even with savescumming and trying to purposefully spawn him in, it's bullshit.
really? i always thought the rod wouldn't reach him but the camera is all kind of fucked up in that area, it's hard to tell
i'll have to try that next time i replay the game
I was curious and checked, the official guide doesn't even say that you can catch Seadramon itself, it says to catch the Blue Flute lol
And of course it doesn't even mention what the better rod even does, claims you recruit Seadramon after finishing Beetle Land, and claims that the fish on the lower dragon eye lake are harder to catch, none of which is true.

no wonder children got absolutely destroyed by this fucking game when even the official guides are full of shit lol

what the fuck, my guide doesn't look anything like that, seadramon and bug island is just a little footnote on the right side of the page
granted it's the french version but still
You can do it. Just aim to get the other digimon in the meantime. If you remember to train three times a day or use those stat chips if you saved them you have it in the bag.
are you crazy? this guy can learn a bunch of decent skills in the early game and andromon is one of the easiest ultimates to get
now let's talk about an early game tyrannomon and how he eats you out of house and home because you dared to train HP
I'm guessing you mean if you get him as a first-time player? If so, you can make Centarumon work far more easily than Numemon for that to make any sense.

there is a randomizer for digimon world available in case you didn't know
https://github.com/SydMontague/digimon_world_randomizer
pretty fun to start the game with something other than agumon or gabumon
Digimon World 1 is perfect but could use a hint system. A check to see what digimon you have and next time you have a baby the npc be like "for something new maybe focus on defense and a bit on brain", like doesn't guarantee but at least put you in the right direction. Maybe have tiers where the more you play the more exact the hint goes "making a care mistake sometimes can be fine, in fact it can lead to new discoveries" type of stuff.
Can you start with like an endgame digimon or they all be rookie level?
Digimon was real and raw and for kids who knew what owning a pet is like including shitting, raising, dying, responsibility etc, Pokemon is for kids and manchildren who want all the benefits of pets with none of the hassles, the Pokemon don't poop, don't need to be fed, or pet, or cared for, all they do is fight for your benefit and enjoy it. Pokemon don't even have fur or other naturalistic textures, they're toys by design.
Sadly the second lot is a much more attractive target demographic.
Fun fact: In the original Japanese, Digivolution is called 進化 (shinka), which just means evolution and is the same term used in Pokemon. The localizers adjusted the term to make it more Digimon-specific.
A bad localization isn't much of a fun fact. It reminds me of others like Creepymon and how both regions have ultimate as a stage so people get confused. A good fun fact is that Volcanomon is based on a real guy. There was a commentator for Digimon Hyper Colosseum (the card game that was a thing before this one) tournaments who dressed in football gear and was liked enough that they made him a Digimon.
There are generally four main reasons people didn't like them. Overall I would argue that it is still an objectively good series that oozes love for the franchise, but these are flaws worth mentioning. >Bad dungeons
They were not hard to navigate at all if you have any semblance of direction and the artstyle did look great, but they were not interesting dungeon maps by any metric and the good aesthetic was utterly wasted on copy/paste terrain. Just overall completely boring dungeons, outside of maybe a few callbacks in later games. Also no minimap is retarded.
>Encounter rate
No explanation needed, just imagine the general audience reaction to early SMT or Persona 1 encounters.
>grindan
True to an extent, but definitely blown out of proportion. Realistically you didn't need to grind that much to do the vast majority of content in them, unless you're going to argue that any general turn based RPG gameplay counts as grinding in which case I just do not want to talk to you. Species EXP is simultaneously the coolest Digimon Vidya mechanic and the worst.
>skills/combat
This one is bit more nuanced. It is true that most attack animations are copy/pasted, but in exchange you have some of the most gorgeous sprites in the franchise on the enemy side. It is also true that a lot of attacks fall prey to the CS/HM approach of recoating them with another element, but people vastly understate the importance of status effects/buffs and grid placement in an effort to make the game seem thoughtless (for some reason I still don't really understand). That being said it's just an average combat system, nothing to write home about and nothing to really get heated over.
It would not surprise me, it wouldn't surprise me if the only ones who liked the DS games were people like me who actually enjoyed Avidya World in Persona 1. In my eyes Digimon has always been infinitely closer to SMT than it ever has been Pokemon anyway, even down to themes of transhumanism and the like.
I’d say because the dungeon design kinda sucked, which was compounded by an absolutely insane encounter rate. Fun game otherwise though, really enjoyed it
The virtual pets if you can consider them games. And the card game if count playing it on TTS or that website as one.
Oh yea, i cleared dawn/dusk as well. I dont know why people said its trash during its time
World 1 fags thought it was bad because it wasn't a Tamagotchi they made do with Championship instead.
Pokefags hate all non pokemon monster games.
JRPGfags have way better options on the DS.
Monster-collectionfags had better DS options too. Fossil Fighters, Dragon Quest monsters, and honestly even Monsters Racers was better too for novelty alone.
The DS story games only have brand recognition and the fact they can use digimon designs going for them.
Next order isn't bad.
Being able to run around with Angewomon and LadyDevimon is a plus too.
I like it, it's like a low budget love letter to the original.
Whose idea was it to call the games digimon world 1/2/3/4 as if they had some kind of connection when they were all different genres of games.
This shit confused me as a kid when I got Digimon world 2 and it was a fucking mystery dungeon game.
Then Digimon world 3 and it's just a JRPG.
Then Digimon world 4 and it's fucking gauntlet legends.
this is the only one of the three ps1 games where I don't speed up the emulator
what a fucking adventure. when I was a kid and I got to achieve an ultimate digimon, it was pure nirvana; and then just going out and trying to figure out how to recruit digimon without any guides was also magical
also I love that sort of aesthetic specifically. pieces of broken real world tech (pipes, electronic signs, houses) blending in with a natural environment... delicious
I bought the newer digitamagotchi, the screen broke after it fell off of my desk, once . I was a bit surprised, because I remembered the older one being a bit rugged. Even the plastic felt a bit lighters. What sucks is that I can't find a replacement for the screen. I'm not buying a brand new one for no reason.
>That one spanish guide that's been copypasted to hell and back telling you you could fight a wargreymon if you do some retarded shit and go to the secret beach cave

The computer virus Digimon in general typically draw from this trope for a less direct example, like Argomon and Arkadimon. But more specifically while the D-Reaper's origin is technically in human technology and not an eldritch origin, it is essentially the blueprint for what the Eaters are down to having the same general nature without direction IE a core.
Probably because it's actually kind of a boring villain who is carried hard by the cute autistic girl drama, all it really has going for it is the monster designs. Also if you want to get REALLY technical it probably heavily borrows from Apocalymon itself.
Cyber Sleuth is a great game, I played it through once for free
I liked it so much that I bought it on sale along with the DLC, played them both to story completion.
Now I occasionally go back to the game to make some progress on getting all the Digimon in the game with the best stats they can have using PlatNumax3 purely based on autism.
God bros, it's soul.
literally like 70% of Digimon media does the "main antagonist is a non-digimon creature" plot
D-Reaper, Vitium, Eaters, The Master, Overlord GAIA, Rogue X, etc.
Y'know I was mad confused when I saw so mayn anons lusting after Renamon when I first saw such threads, cause Renamon sounds like a heavyset dude in the dub that I got. I thought those anons were the biggest fucking homosexuals that ever graced the internet
technically they are still homosexuals, it doesn't matter what the Digimon looks like because there is no sexual dimorphism for any digimon, therefore, a female and a male Renamon look identical, therefore Renafags are Schrodinger's homosexual.
We kinda already do. One of the plots of the DS Story games is about the digital incarnation of the one who created the digital world losing faith in Tamers and the potential of Digimon over time, eventually making plans to disrupt digivolution as a fundamental concept and erase all useless things from existence. The final battle being an amalgamation of his creations (Digimon/Human hybrids) fusing with him to make the most cursed Fusions ever. That's almost stupid enough to be a Fate/ plot.
>the digital incarnation of the one who created the digital world losing faith in Tamers and the potential of Digimon over time, eventually making plans to disrupt digivolution as a fundamental concept and erase all useless things from existence
Why the fuck is Iggy so obsessed with destroying its own creation over and over? First it was because he was too cheap to just buy a new SSD and now this?
That's one of those things that can't be accomplished if you try to do it. The people who give Digimon a chance see how it really is. The problem is that Bandai isn't making Digimon look like it's worthy of that chance.
Digimons are supposed to be created from the imagination of children. The evil demon looking ones are supposed to come from fucked up/degenerate children. Thats the base concept at least.
The data world is just another dimension that coexists with the real world. The mental state of people especially children can influence the data world..
That's only a thing in some of the melodramatic anime continuities. In the "main" Digimon universe of the DRB/V-pets and the majority of other continuities, Digimon are digital monsters and nothing else.
I know it was on purpose but that's one of the worst Digimon you could've posted it on. The only things that separate Ladydev from an BDSM goth are her claw arm and the leatherman on her shoulder.
notice how in both of these images the pokemon is an actual pokemon while the digimon is something clearly made by someone who only vaguely knows what a digimon might look like
Put the gym into the manner in which you explore and fight, you don't need an actual gym. >Walk in water: MP goes up >Climb mountain wall: Str goes up
Then the places you go and things you do influence the evolutions.
>Walking in water simulator >Climb mountain wall simulator
nope, people will just think the game super sucks because all you do is grinding repeatedly while doing repeated action that's not even fun.
Just finished Next Order yesterday, I really liked it, it offers the same feel as the original world game, if you have a switch/ PS quadruple you should play it, you will get addicted to it for a few days
this is something I liked about next order: there are 3 viable ways to train and get mega mons >Gym, worst one
You can target specific stats which could help reach certain stat requirements for evolution, but the process is slow and tedious, your mon's life is spent while training, you make no money or get drops >Battles, best one
In next order there is a Tamer talent tree, with some upgrades you can make battling THE single best way to increase stats for evolution, while at the same time, making money and getting item drops, which then you can use to explore/ buy consumeables for bosses, also, while battling TIME STOPS so your mon is not losing their lives like when training at the gym >Fishing
At around mid game you can get a fishing hole in your town, you can fish there and then you can sell the fish to make stupid amounts of money, the restaurant also sells stupidly expensive food that increases all your stats if you recruit MagnaAngemon early, which only requires first recruiting Wizardmon to teleport to the snow zone, with the right talents you can make infite money AND increase your digimon's stats at the same time.
other than the usual balancing issues that get repeated every thread (like floppy spam and ice statue being broken) honestly it just needs more info being accessible inside the game instead of being a guide-selling game. >give the player some vague hints about what stats he needs to focus on to get evolutions >less useless mons that join the town, instead have them make comments about hidden info that have an effect on digivolving like care mistakes, lifetime battles and techniques learned >have the npcs actually give helpful hints instead of just saying cryptic garbage that may or may not be true (train 10 times as a baby and something good will happen!) >game feedback when you actually do said cryptic garbage, (train 10 times as a baby/in-training permanently upgrades that training) >fix the fucking camera in the seadramon fishing spot so you can actually place the bait properly
>>give the player some vague hints about what stats he needs to focus on to get evolutions
>adjust the digivolution chart to show requirements for a path after it has been gained. >Lower mob strength, the dungeon boss should not be easier than every single room required to get to them. >Keep an area cleared for a day after it has been won. One of the worst things is clearing an area then running from a squad of 4 then immediately getting contacted before the screen fades in of the area you just cleared of high level overpowered mobs. >Have an energy bar for the digimon, I shouldn't have to take guess of how many times I can train or battle a day before it gets exhausted, adding a digivolution penalty, defeating the point of the training in the first place. > Add a discipline failure counter so I can actually figure out what counted and what didn't. >Reduce the cost of items or jack up the fee for winning fights,it shouldn't be necessary to use an anchovie glitch to get the funds to get a reasonable amount of bits, otherwise your just constantly hoarding consumables. >Have the meat size from palmon choosable, it's great that I upgraded the farm but my baby digimon can't handle a 3 bit meat item without becoming a collosal fat ass and defaulting to tyrannomon. >Fix giromons jukebox from crashing the game >Adjust the arena battle strength to evolution level, my megadramon that beat the end boss shouldn't be jobbing to a red vegimon that somehow has 8000 health.
All of these [...]

the digivolution chart to show requirements for a path after it has been gained.
I really like these ideas. A huge thing of what made Digimon World so fun is the mystery/wonder about what Digimon you were going to get. Even reaching Ultimate was a feat in itself, so seeing the digivolve animation during the Champion stage was really exciting.
I hated how in Next Order, they just spell out the digivolutions for you. The DNA digivolutions were at least a bit interesting.
The main problem I see with Digimon World's gameplay is the training. The gyms are boring but necessary, and a vast majority of the random battles are unnecessary. I think that instead of having the boring training system, there should be a 'montage' phase that happens after you reach each stage of the Digimon's evolution cycle. Instead of straight up getting the stats, this montage period actually serves to give your Digimon growth bonuses, so they level up in a more conventional fighting-enemies way but still gain benefits from good training. You select stats for your Digimon to focus on, minigames boost the efficacy of the stat growth bonuses, and you can even add a 'gym diet' part where you can use the favourite food of your ideal Digimon to restrict/change your growth values to make it easier to reach their stat requirements.
>adjust the digivolution chart to show requirements for a path after it has been gained. >Lower mob strength, the dungeon boss should not be easier than every single room required to get to them. >Keep an area cleared for a day after it has been won. I talking about pokemon as a whole, not video games. But since you mention. Yes the ps1 Digimon trilogy BTFO any other pokemon game. If you want me to talk dirty. Ps1 Monster Rancher 1&2 rapes anything pokemon has to offer gaming-wise
>ps1 Digimon trilogy BTFO any other pokemon game >Monster Rancher 1&2 rapes anything pokemon has to offer
Peak Pokemon is really good. It's hard to go back and play World 3, but Pokemon Silver is incredibly replayable, even compared to Mr2. It's just a better adventure.
>Yes the ps1 Digimon trilogy BTFO any other pokemon game
world 1 is a fantastic game
word 2 is a piece of shit
world 3 has its moments but as the other anon mentioned it's a pain to play these days
Cyber Sleuth has specific animations for each signature move, intended for the corresponding Digimon. Inheriting signature moves would hence be impossible.
You can do something similar in Re:Digitize, though. You can register a Digimon of yours that passed away, then call upon its spirit when using your finisher in battle instead of the current Digimon. Then the spirit of the called Digimon uses its signature move.
Those "people" can kill themselves
literally the best thing they could add to a World-style game is a "talk to partner" button.
Imagine your partner having something to say for every screen in the game. Imagine bringing your Meramon to Freezeland and pressing the talk button and he says "let's get the fuck outta here I hate this place". THAT'S soul.
>What you think it will be >bringing your Meramon to Freezeland and pressing the talk button and he says "let's get the fuck outta here I hate this place" >What it will be >I'm hungry!
Those Pokefags can fuck off. The charm of Digimon is always the fact that the Mons are the tamer's "guardian angel". They're the ones who would ask the tamer "is this the right thing to do" but they aren't preachy about it. In the end, the tamer usually grows alongside their mon.
One of the draws of Digimon is the fact that they can talk, which allows them to have a clearer personalities. For me personality, I get weirded out when a Digimon isn't able to talk and particularly, acts like an animal.
>Taichi is a sap who ghosts Agumon cause he can’t balance growing up with digimon stuff. >Meanwhile Daisuke is running a buisiness with Veemon and couldn’t be happier. The rest of the 02 team works alongside their partners too.
Ironic how the 02 cast ended much more likable as adults. Hate how the based trio(Koushiro, Mimi, Joe) got lumped in with Kizuna’s nonsense when they should be in the same state as the younger cast.
No new evos or forms, paladin mode does not make an appearance. They did completely redo all the evolution scenes frame by frame to the last detail (except for the Armor ones as they aren't used in this movie). Only new Digimon is two forms of Ukkomon (I think that's how it's spelled) who is the not really antagonist.
If you're going into this movie looking for raw action and new forms, you won't get it. It's a much smaller more personal story that sheds some light on the origins of Digidestined and their bonds with Digimon.
I liked it a lot, it was a mature story with characters we love who are now older. Should really resonate with older fans (the ones who aren't just looking for new forms to buy toys of). Deals with abuse, the importance of real communication, and how relationships are a two-way street and can't be one-sided.
Lots of great cameos and references to other kids who appeared in the season 2 epiaodes. Willis makes an appearance. Ken and Yolei are hardcore interested in each other too, btw. 02 epilogue is still canon, we're just on our way there.
Movie was better than I expected from spoilers. A lot better than Kizuna with half the team being sidelined(they need to stop that shit already) and the disappearing partner nonsense. Main issue I have it how the story retcons itself into the overall story without really needing too. I think they could have kept it mostly self contained and it still could play out mostly the same. >Ken and Yolei are hardcore interested in each other too.
They made that ship a lot more believable just by making her hot as hell now.

Haven't they raped the originals enough? Holy fuck, it's like watching a simp pay all his money to e-whores, they're just preying on nostalgia and never do justice to the original
I watched the original series and had the virtual pet toy, but never played any of the games. And I'm older than most of the posters here, so honestly, I don't know why you guys like the series so much. It was only okay at best.
The guys behind Digimon and Sega seriously must be some of the most incompetent people in the world.
They truly are sitting on IPs that everyone loves to get behind but they just cant' bring themselves to make something good.
I agree. They want to make the "next big thing" when they already made it and treat it like fucking shit and wonder why no one cares about their fail attempts at a new IP while still begging for a GOOD Sonic/Digimon game. JEZZ I wonder if fans might like something and just waiting for the company to do it without it just being a quick buck on their end.
To add to this, CS is the perfect example. Don't get me wrong, it is a fine game but that is exactly the issue. It is just fine. It should had been an amazing game with the love and care it deserved, a flawless translation and doesn't have such stiff overworld animations as a bit of polish. More importantly the west shouldn't had to beg for it to be accessible whatsoever. Like fuck they didn't even believe in their own fucking product. That is just embarrassingly sad. It would been a literal perfect game that make Pokemon look like fucking shit that isn't even trying. Instead we got basically a beta of the game as a full release and get told "take it or leave it". Seen someone said it is the best 7/10 game and honestly I can agree with that, it is good but my god it doesn't have the polish it need. They dropping the ball and too fucking stupid to even be aware they were holding one in the first place.
yes but the fans are retarded too

The only thing CS has going for it are the 3d models of the Digimons, which are really good and look great! plus there's lots of them!
Absolutely nothing else. >Story
lmao >Characters
KEK >Gameplay
somehow even worse than pokemon >Maps
Man I sure love blue cubes! >Exploration
The whole game is literally one straight line. with nothing to explore except maybe get one chest with a useless item. At least in sword and shield you have some hidden pokemons in different areas but here? nothing. >Sidequests?
You mean main quest, because despite being called sidequest or cases they ARE MANDATORY or you can't progress, I hope you enjoy unskippable cutscenes and scenes with horrible npcs every few minutes!
There is absolutely NOTHING good about CS except for the 3d models, which as I said are great, if you think there is anything good about it please say so, I'd like to hear a real answer besides >UHHH LE ANIMERINO GIRLERINO MAKES MY DICKERINO HARD THAT MEANS IT'S GOOOD XDD
Serious answers only please, thanks, I'd love to know why you guys think CS is good, like AT ALL.
As always, no answer, no argument, NOTHING.
There is absolutely nothing good about CS
I gave you the floor to name a single thing, and yet you can't produce a single one.
I wholeheartedly accept your deflection and concession.

Arguing with a pokefag is a lost cause, your brainwashing is irreversible so we just don't bother.

Not even a pokefag but you need to be mentally retarded to not realize one is way worse.
But the fact that you can't produce a SINGLE good thing about the game, (except as I said good 3d models) is really telling.
Keep coping I suppose.

I've been in your shoes. The second you gave them an out to deflect by typing pokemon you lost. You next time say a different series like Spectrobes. They'll just ignore you but are locked out of calling you a enemy team fan.

Spectrobes is solid but dead. Maybe you could not be a disingenuous shitposter?

What does being dead have to do with anything? It's just kind of a fact that if you criticize Digimon and mention Pokemon there are fans that'll write you off as a troll like you are doing right now.
Which game should I start with?
World. It's one of the most pure pieces of Digimon media because it was made before the anime. It's painful but worth it. Just don't be stupid and you can figure it out. It's also the one good Digimon console game that isn't Digital Card Battle.

Because you are a troll.

Why are you responding to me then? Rule 1 of dealing with trolls is don't feed the troll.
Didnt like the first cause of the Digimon dying and I was to young to understand it.
Enjoyed the 2nd a lot more with the truck you could make.
3rd was my favorite.
Last one I played was the DS one and loved the FUCK out of it 100% it to.
I like Digimon 1 the least too. Digimon 2 is the best in my opinion. 3 is great. Was amazed to find out most people here think Digimon 1 is the only good game and the rest is shit. Ganker trannies are something else indeed.
2 isn't bad as it is just grindy due to the fusing just to level up system it had. The game is great though if you were a kid and had endless time to spend.
You should go back and give DW1 a real try. It is often seen as the best for the raising a digimon bit. If you only exclusively like the games for the RPG elements then Cyber Sleuth while not perfect is likely the best digimon game to do such currently.
I was only going to get the Nature Spirits one (Grankuwagamon, Angoramon line, Triceramon, and the all new Tlalocmon enticed me) but the second they announced Callismon was finally getting an official design and would be on the Nightmare Soldiers pendulum, I had to get it too.
If they weren’t so damn expensive I would have loved to get Deep Savers as well. It has some of my favorites but just not enough of a pull as the other two
Why do people hate this fucker on the visual novel game? What the fuck did they do? I have no plans to play it so feel free to spoil it all but maybe be kind to others and spoiler tag it anyway.
in the visual novel game the concept of Digimon doesn't exist, they are believed to be some kind of yokai monsters that have existed for thousands of years before computers existed, it makes no sense at first but it can be explained by time traveling quantum computers. Lopmon partner is some guy who got trapped with the other kids in a past broken timeline and he believes all the "digimon" are enemies who want to kill them, so he's very shit to lopmon and doesn't want to be near him and constantly kicks him and humiliates him, in the end the guy gets angry because Lopmon hasn't been able to evolve and starts beating the shit out of him until he starts evolving, but since he was being abused his evolution line becomes corrupted and he evolves in his virus type form, Wendigomon. Wendigomon then proceeds to grab the guy and bite his head off with blood splattering across the screen, kinda horrible because I think it's the first time I have seen a digimon directly kill a human.
>in the visual novel game the concept of Digimon doesn't exist, they are believed to be some kind of yokai monsters that have existed for thousands of years before computers existed, it makes no sense at first but it can be explained by time traveling quantum computers.
They never say the word "Digimon" until the endings, they're spirits that can finally properly materialize in the human world thanks to computers and then they are called "Digimon"
>filters zoomers
I grew up on Digimon instead of Pokemon, dunno why my parents decided to put it on instead of Pokemon but i'm glad they did, watching Digimon Data Squad growing up may have made me autistic though tbh.
t. technically a zoomer(22)
>mid
the average digimon game WISHES it was good enough to be "mid"
there's a reason the only game anyone gives a shit about is the ps1 game from two decades ago
I genuinely don't know whether they're that good, it's a shame that in CS all 12 of your slots should be the big famous Digimon because they're the strongest, I wish they balanced it so that megas had different strengths and weaknesses but there are ~4 of every type(Vaccine, Data, Virus and Neutral) that just mog absolutely every other option, my autism will not let me use for example Bancholeomon because Chaosmon mogs him in every way minus DEF.
>get to Garurumon >he forces you to use certain attacks and then counters you >continually have to deal with his bullshit until you get lucky enough to win >the rest of the game is super easy afterwards
Yeah, but I think he had other counter attacks, too.
>Analogman
Funnily enough, the last time I played, I had the funniest battle with him.
>play card with counter on circle >he goes for the circle attack, because it's the biggest damage >counter him for full damage >he sends out another Digimon and does it again >counter again >he sends out another Digimon and does it again >counter again >win
It's funny, because it's almost designed like he's meant to be shit at the card game since he only just learned how to play it.
I haven't seen another card game similar to it but god I hope someone makes a spiritual successor >be me using special digivolution deck with only champions and ultimates >use shellmon because it has the highest hp even with the penalty >instantly special digivolve to omnimon >use sevens to basically cheat in the game
its so goddamn fun
>original jp card battle is a retelling of digimon world 1 >machinedramon is the final boss, not a/nalogman
I never understood this, when I first heard I thought oh that makes it being mameo and A returning make some more sense, but no, analogman doesn't even seem to show up in the first game based on japanese LPs I've gleamed
>DW1 >DW2 >DSCS
Take your pick, all of them are good, only people blinded by nostalgia dislike Cyber Sleuth, in truth all 3 of the games I listed are good.
I'm thinking of picking up Next Order, anyone played it? Is it worth it?
>only people blinded by nostalgia dislike Cyber Sleuth
what do you people like so much about the game
Honestly I didnt like anything about the game except the graphics and the yasuda art
I found Dawn/ Dusk to be better
The roster of Digimon, the graphics, I enjoy party based jrpgs a lot more than the Open World ones a La Witcher 3 or Dragon Age, then again I enjoy grindy but simple and comfy games, it's understandable that some may dislike it, but to say it is bad just because it isn't a Digimon World title is doing the game a disservice.
Also I actually really REALLY liked the story, especially Hacker's Memory. the special moves make my dopamine receptors light up no matter how many times I watch them.
>only people blinded by nostalgia dislike Cyber Sleuth
i dislike cyber sleuth because it's a human game featuring digimon, not a digimon game. plus the gameplay is shallow as fuck and there replayability is near-zero because you can't skip cutscenes and most of the fucking game is cutscenes
I knew there was one, but I'm surprised it's still around. I thought people left the game after BT-10, specially with the release of Wann Piss TCG.
Games only 3 years old and the player base has just been steadily growing. Combination of ex-big 3 tcg players sick of the state of those games and long time digimon fans that haven’t really had any way to do something in the franchise with other people till now.
Sounds based, shame I have no friends so there's no point getting into it
same, and I am too scared to interact with strangers to learn how to play
Believe me, it's not worth it. The art is pretty cool and the game was kino, but the powercreep has kicked into such an overdrive that it looks like Yugioh today. Considering the majority of the playerbase were YGO refugees who got sick of the game, it's dying and fast. The fact that it's now playing second fiddle to Wan Piss TCG only exacerbates the problem.
t. Someone who loved the game and won several local tournaments with ChaD-Brigade
This is undeniably a doompost, but I welcome it, you saying that the TCG is dying is making me feel better about the fact that I can't really get into it due to lack of friends and places that host tournaments near me, thanks anon.

>doompost
That word is just a cope word for /tg/ parasites. That said, if you don't believe about the powercreep, feel free to check out the cards.
I really wanted this game to suceed, but Bandai being Bandai once again proves it treats Digimon with the care of a 4 yro with his toys. At least it will die with more dignity than Tranny the Pandering.
If you still feel curious, you can play it solo in Tabletop Sim, here's how it looks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLbEagkkMHo

You if you got no locals you can try playing over TTS. It’s the easiest way to play till we get an official online client and it’s got a pretty active player base.
that's a shame, since i figured a lot of the fun of playing with people is that they are digimon fans as well, so you could talk about all the neat references in the card art and stuff. sounds a lot less interesting if a lot of the playerbase are just generic TCG players

Man, the poeple at my LGS were adamant on the fact that DoruGuremon and Vritramon were Greymons because of their localized names, despite the fact that all those cards had special rules specifying they didn't work with Greymon cards.
I dunno about other places, but the people I met had no fucking idea about it, and one of them had to take the information from a "Discord friend who's an expert in Digimon" (homosexual).

those people aren't worth interacting with, I just want to make some digibros...
at that point I'd prefer to just play over a client. BANDAI WHERE IS MY TCG CLIENT?
Games only 3 years old and the player base has just been steadily growing. Combination of ex-big 3 tcg players sick of the state of those games and long time digimon fans that haven’t really had any way to do something in the franchise with other people till now.
I play the TCG, still seething at RB1 because the fucking homosexuals decided to make reprints take up the rare slots making it expensive to get my hands on Amphimon
I'd love to make a Digimon RPG in RPG maker, but I've only ever made really short stuff (5 hours at most), and I don't really know what kind of game I should make. A pet simulator like World or a story based one like Cyber Sluts. Either would make actually trying to design the game a nightmare.
>Wizardmon and Imperialdramon that low
Thought they were much more popular.
Nice to see Lilithmon getting some love tho.
How were the votes counted? Machinedramon and Magnamon share place 7 while there's no 8th.
You had a list of all available digimon that were in the Digimon Reference Book at the time and each voter could only pick a single digimon, I imagine that there were a few ties
The monster designs are cool, the juvenile edge aesthetic is charming and the mid 00's style of the digital world is appealing, especially now that those fanciful representations of technology are all but dead with the corporatization of the internet. There's a certain je ne sais quoi about digimon that gives it lasting appeal, almost in spite of the fact that the franchise as a whole is wasted potential
>the first ModokiBetamon south of the Gym
is there a digimon that's suffered more as the punching bag to satisfy the battle requirement for digivolutions and easy recovery item farming?
sleep deprivation is actually a good strategy though, since it only counts as a care mistake if you wait until he no longer wants to sleep. I recall it also had a neat trick where no matter how many hours you sleep it adds +8 hours toward your next evolution so it lets you both evolve faster or roll for vademon if you want him.
One thing I like about the anime is how it's basically "anime in the real world" if that makes any sense. Like the first arc is typical anime shenanigans, then later they deal with shit like survivor's guilt and depression.
I just watched the Digimon X movie for the first time in my 31 years of life. Am I correct in concluding it's psychotic? It's got the exaltation of the antichrist as an unknowing mechanism in the destruction of the world. Plus the CG is nothing like I thought it would have been when I saw the untranslated intro as a child. I felt like I was having a fever dream.
I like that the little V-pet sprites continue to be a part of Digimon by being a status effect and that V-pets still get made so newer monsters get sprites.
I should go on an autistic sperg planning spree for my dream digimon game.
It basically boils down to a turn based adaptation of digimon adventure s1. Every digimon has a certain role (attacker, support, defender) and the game adds more branch evolutions so they can fit more roles. Joe and Gomamon would typically try to hold aggro and soak up damage for instance.
Fully animated, voiced non-VN style cutscenes with plenty of action. Big focus on character interaction and expanding on the themes the series originally set up. Replaced the dark masters arc with a better one that leads into Apocalymon more naturally.
Also a "baton pass" like mechanic from P5. Striking a weakness (elemental or vacc/virus/data) will load the digimon up with data they can send to another party member to enhance their next attack.
Lots of exploration, finding the village the kids Digimon were living in prior and finding out what they were up to while waiting for the kids, things like that.
I've been daydreaming about it for weeks.
>try to get a friend into World 1 >I don't want to backseat him so I just watch his adventures >he praises his partner constantly not understanding what that's doing to its discipline >shits everywhere because of this >gets fucking Tyrannomon so RIP his food supply >quits after the first digimon death and calls the game the worst thing he's ever played
I wanted to backseat him SO hard but he never asked, and now I feel like his bad time with the game I love so much is my fault.
I've been playing redigitize decode for about a week now. I'm on my way to the 100th floor of infinity mountain and is currently on the 91th floor because I want to drag a certain someone's face across the mud and avenge my a dear certain fluffy friend of mine who didn't deserve the bad shit that happened to him.
Holy shit you're doing what I couldn't and now I feel bad for not going the extra mile for him. What digimon you using? I had a Vikemon for Infinity Mountain.
>World 1
The most S O V L, but also the most obtuse, hidden, and punishing mechanics, it is VERY easy to fuck up raising your digimon unless you have prior knowledge on how to do it. No other game like it even though two other games did the same style, mostly because they replaced isolated exploration and digimon saving with generic power of friendship plots with other humans present instead of just the player.
>World 3
An attempt at a pokemon clone but you don't catch digimon and the quest design is horrendous, if the "8blue Card" shenanigans made you mad then stop there, it actually only gets worse. Good amount of S O V L that shines through the spritework and music despite that.
>Cyber Sleuth
A generic Atlus game RPG where Digimon happen to be how you fight. Considered to be the most competent game in the series but only because you really can't do this gameplay style badly. Lots of superfluous dialogue that means nothing, inconsequential side quests that mean nothing, and half of a game without the main plot kicking in at all, but its got loads of digimon with unique animations each. The safest entry point because at worst it'll just bore you to death, not anger you with obtuse or bad mechanics.
>Next Order
Its World 1 but the S O V L has been replaced with no longer needing an external wiki to know how the game functions. It'll tell you everything you need to know about raising your digimon, the exact stats they need for any evolution you want, and it really just doesn't let you fuck up with raising them unless you're intentionally going out of your way to do so to meet certain evolution requirements. Its completely idiot proof, but its still a vpet raising simulator so its not for everyone. Worth checking out if you're too afraid of World 1 or too prideful to want to use a wiki for it.
>Survive
A visual novel. The only game where your digimon is an actual character and their ability to speak and have personalities will come into play.
Looking at the original Digimon world game, I noticed a lack of Mega/Ultimate classification so I assume this was before the fourth and typically final type of evolution was introduced. The unnatural power that was beyond perfect/ultimate.
Pretty much. There's also the fact File Island is full of weaklings who can't evolve that far. Server is the first discovered Digital World habitat where the digimon evolved that far. You can see it by making a brick V-pet fight a pendulum. The Server digimon are inherently more jacked as they win every time.
Yeah they were purely based off vpets/concept art.
From memory there are 3 digimon that were later reclassified as Megas (H-kabuterimon, machinedramon, phoenixmon), only h-kabuterimon and phoenixmon can be used in regular gameplay, machinedramon can be used in the arena from memory
I just really like the concept
Grew up with the first few seasons of anime, liked some of the games, and nowadays I really enjoy the TCG.
I'm sure it's similar for a lot of people.
This is another good point. Conceptually it's just kinda neat
is this just fan art or a real anime/video game?
Video game, Digimon World Next Order
This is also official art.
>femaiba slams clams with the phone

He did gain the femboy in return though
>character untying the panties of another character
>that massive cleavage only held in place by nipples on the right
digimon?
me in the back
This.
It's the concept, the idea of what it could be, and what Digimon world 1 acomplished.
It's definitely not the games, definitely not the shit tier anime girls, and most definitely not the stories, it's the concept iself
because contrarian to pokemon and renamon pics
digimon was made to appeal to westerners
Pokemon is way more westernised than Digimon.
>suddenly
that game had no right being as good as it was
Digimon world on PS1 was a really crazy game. Like combination of tamagochi, rpg and adventure game.
This damn game has quite complex digivolution system basically diffrent stats, amount of care mistakes and weight can lead to diffrent digimon. And unironically you need a fucking online guide to get digimon you want.
>play Pokemon
>feed your Pokemon candy and bread
>Pokemon makes cutesy noises
>play Digimon
>feed your Digimon meat
>Digimon takes a big, meaty shit on the ground and then eats it in front of you while maintaining eye contact
Why is this series so weird?
The first reason is that it's stupid in a cool way. It's silly and absurd but takes itself seriously. But not up to much or else there wouldn't be digimon like Sukamon or Nanimon. Only the recent stuff is up its own ass and can be ruined by remembering living data poo is a thing.
The second is contrairionism but not in a mean way. This place attracts people who aren't into the mainstream so it's more likely that this place will have digifags and bromons than other websites.
What's the dinosaur one called?
Allomon X
There's also the fact Digimon has always offered SOME substance compared to Pokemon which was always surface level slop for 6 year olds
>all the review outlets in 1999 gave Digimon World 5/10s

It's a naturally replayable game. Most people who like it played it at least twice. But on the subject of replaying DW1. There's a rom hack that has a bunch of convenience changes if anyone is interested. There are also several add-on hacks that restore the original life span and whatever if you just want to use the several digimon it adds.

I liked Digimon and Pokemon while growing up but I liked the Digimon Anime more and I fell out of the Pokemon stuff after Gen 3. Also digimon just gives me more nostalgia for older days for some reason.
>Also digimon just gives me more nostalgia for older days for some reason
Make sure to go watch the new movie!
Gonna be real with you, I don't like the nostalgia pandering too much even if I do have nostalgia for the series. I'd rather just rewatch the older movies. Actually I just miss childhood in general. I tried to get in to ghost game but didn't really get in to it like child me would.
Can we update this gif to show Hikari from the recent movie
NTA I couldn't get into Ghost Game either. The characters were all flat, which you need to nail when making an episodic show.
Things that are great yet greatly flawed capture the imagination a lot more than competently produced stuff that isn't all that remarkable
HOLY FUCK DIGIMON WORLD WAS A GOOD GAME
Why hasn't there ever been a game like it since?
There's been Digimon Re: Digitized and the improved 3DS version is japan only but has been translated to english by fans
Then theres Digimon Next Order but has mixed feelings from fans of Digimon World 1
Do any of them have the same "Unsolved" feeling when it comes to digivoling your digmimon?
>Why hasn't there ever been a game like it since?
All you have to do is emulate the late 90s, make virtual pets popular, have a console like the PS1 and remove the internet so no guides.
I've played this game so god dam many times and never used a guide once to get my mons. I've relied on trial and error.
Normies use guides. They can't handle not knowing what is on the evolution menu (i.e. McDonalds).
Because the Animes were good, and we all wosh they got a game that was even half as enjoyable.
Cooler designs. V-pet mechanics. Played a lot of chao garden too so I just got an itch for raising simulators.
1. metalgreymon owns
2. digimon world 1
3. digimon owns bitch
because it captures the interests of young boys perfectly; dinosaurs and fat titted sluts
>dinosaurs and fat titted sluts
>oh man I can't wait to fuck that dinosaur
Oooohhh, so furries are retards with their wires crossed.
the last horse crosses the finish line
because children who wanted to play pokemon but didn't have a nintendo console had to deal with "pokemon at home", which made this faux success
>love Wargreymon
>know instinctively/subconsciously that if Wargremon was in World it would ruin the game
?
Is it because the original mons had pet-like designs?
That's actually a pretty neat design ethos if that was something anyone at Bandai ever actually intended, I think Digimon would have more appeal if that was a concept that was consistently represented instead of just doing whatever the fuck they felt like from project to project
when i was a kid there was a rumor that you could get a secret monster "2-Headed Dragon" (no mon) if you did some weird reset shit with it.
never saw it happen but my friend did cheat a metal greymon the cunt
>replay game
>determined to finish it where my younger self could not
>get an Andromon and went all the way to 45 prosp points
>fade away
>can't get another mon strong enough to go through the final dungeon
>filtered again
this game's too hard
>he didn't get the training gym upgrades with his first mon
you did this to yourself
>he didn't get the training gym upgrades
From Kabuterimon?
kabuterimon and kuwagamon
also training on a facility with baby stage digimon will upgrade them and increase gains
piximons training manual will also boost your gains, as well has hawk radishes and super carrots
you really shouldn't have trouble raising your 2+ mons if you did some prep with your first one
>kabuterimon and kuwagamon
They're 10+ hours into the game guidefag.
what are you talking about
all you need is the fishing rod which you can get in gear savannah, easily accessible while you still have your first mon
>all you need is the fishing rod which you can get in gear savannah
GUIDEFAG
GUIDEFAG
i don't need a guide for a game i've beaten over 15 times
You do realize that you can easily beat the game with your very first Digimon right?
How's that clown wig looking on your digihead
>They're 10+ hours into the game guidefag.
?t=4420
You mean one hour.
>Tranny run
It's basically just very fast playthrough of someone who knows what they're doing.
Train Agumon, get Birdramon, get Spinning Shot, obliterate the game. You can do this casually without any problems.
>1:30
>"world record"
I get that it's an old video but the WR is under an hour now. Granted the speedrunning autists have found rng manipulation so they can do a bunch of bonus reel training.
I like this one precisely because it doesn't do the bonus training shit which is something a casual player definitely cannot do (at least not several times in a row)
>You can beat the game with a Champion
Wtf my childhood is ruined
Haven't seen the video but even the most cursed tyrannomon can complete the game with spit fire as long as you keep him healthy. spitfire is so fast it interrupts almost everyone with the excepcion of attacks like all ranged beam which are instantly cast and don't get interrupted (which is what machinedramon uses)
>Haven't seen the video but even the most cursed tyrannomon can complete the game with spit fire as long as you keep him healthy.
Not just keeping it healthy but also training it's HP enough so that it can actually survive a hit from the bosses
Other than that sure
>piximon
I've played the game 3 times and have seen that fucker ONCE and my poor champion couldn't take it, even with savescumming and trying to purposefully spawn him in, it's bullshit.
piximon has a 2% chance of appearing every time you enter that screen so a few minutes of re-entering and you'll get it
I unlocked beetle land iirc but I'm too much of a brainlet to not work my new mons to death before they get to do anything
gambling for enough card points to upgrade the rod and then fishing up seadramon all before your first mon fades away is "that part" of DW1 for me
>upgrade the rod and then fishing up seadramon
You can just catch Seadramon with the base rod, anon.
really? i always thought the rod wouldn't reach him but the camera is all kind of fucked up in that area, it's hard to tell
i'll have to try that next time i replay the game
Yes https://youtu.be/eyAJmTw7Aoc?t=4174
>gambling for enough card points to upgrade the rod and then fishing up seadramon
which gamefaqs guide told you to do that lol
the official guide
The real Numemon. No memes.
How?
It can use cool shit like Prominence Beam.
>stronk
>can turn into Andromon, which was the best ultimate
are you crazy? this guy can learn a bunch of decent skills in the early game and andromon is one of the easiest ultimates to get
now let's talk about an early game tyrannomon and how he eats you out of house and home because you dared to train HP
He evolved into my Andromon that I beat mt infinity and most of postgame with so I can't relate.
I won the entire game with this guy, and it was my first legit digivolution apart of shitmon
I'm guessing you mean if you get him as a first-time player? If so, you can make Centarumon work far more easily than Numemon for that to make any sense.
>here
It's popular in lots of places anon, just cause it's not pokemon popular doesn't mean it has no fans, anyway SWEATY ANGEWOMON BREASTS PRESSED AGAINST MY FACE FOR ETERNITY
digimon world is one of the worst offenders of a game that suck at the beginning but once you get it its a great game
Its an amazing early game wtf you on. Everything is unknown and discovery. Zoomer detected
>one of the worst offenders of a game that suck at the beginning
Tamagotchi games have this initial hurdle of funds/food not being plentiful, thereby giving you shit monsters and stats, eventually snowballing.
Reasons.
there is a randomizer for digimon world available in case you didn't know
https://github.com/SydMontague/digimon_world_randomizer
pretty fun to start the game with something other than agumon or gabumon
Digimon World 1 is perfect but could use a hint system. A check to see what digimon you have and next time you have a baby the npc be like "for something new maybe focus on defense and a bit on brain", like doesn't guarantee but at least put you in the right direction. Maybe have tiers where the more you play the more exact the hint goes "making a care mistake sometimes can be fine, in fact it can lead to new discoveries" type of stuff.
Can you start with like an endgame digimon or they all be rookie level?
This games mogs every pokemon game in existance (and every dw aswell lol)
Digimon was real and raw and for kids who knew what owning a pet is like including shitting, raising, dying, responsibility etc, Pokemon is for kids and manchildren who want all the benefits of pets with none of the hassles, the Pokemon don't poop, don't need to be fed, or pet, or cared for, all they do is fight for your benefit and enjoy it. Pokemon don't even have fur or other naturalistic textures, they're toys by design.
Sadly the second lot is a much more attractive target demographic.
You're right.
I'm smarter for liking Digiman
>urrrrrrrrruuuurrrrrrgggggggggguuuu...
>*FART*
>weooooorrrww!
no idea
Fun fact: In the original Japanese, Digivolution is called 進化 (shinka), which just means evolution and is the same term used in Pokemon. The localizers adjusted the term to make it more Digimon-specific.
They still attach digi- to everything in localization.
https://digimoncardgame.fandom.com/wiki/Digisorption
Well, the digivolution was up and running at the time after all.
You're still harping on that? Give it a rest, it's been 3 years.
I use "Evolution" but refuse to use "Jogress".
Jogress sounds stupid but is easier to say than DNA Digivolution. I personally just say "DNA", and use the two interchangeably.
Which digimon game worth to play nowadays ? I love DW 1 & 3, but i dont like cybersleuth. I like survive but its not real digimon game.
That's pretty much it
try next order i guess
Dawn/Dusk on the DS are sort of an intermediary stage between World 3 and Cyber Sleuths.
Oh yea, i cleared dawn/dusk as well. I dont know why people said its trash during its time
The encounter rate probably pissed a lot of people off. I remember the maps could also be fucking confusing at times.
That being said it's just an average combat system, nothing to write home about and nothing to really get heated over.
>just imagine the general audience reaction to early SMT or Persona 1 encounters
Never thought about it, but the guys making the Digimon DS games probably grew up on SMT.
How cum no one ever talks about Dawn/Dusk?
I’d say because the dungeon design kinda sucked, which was compounded by an absolutely insane encounter rate. Fun game otherwise though, really enjoyed it
DEJIMON

SUREUTU
The virtual pets if you can consider them games. And the card game if count playing it on TTS or that website as one.
>DW 3, but i dont like cybersleuth
Sleuth is a sequel to 3.
No, they're both just JRPGs in the Digimon franchise. They play completely differently.
Championship is pretty good.
Its like FF
But final fantasy up until like 13 was 4 naggers in a row aside from the online games.
You go back to file island in 2, it is a direct sequel.
Neo Crimson is a sick design, gaia looks dumb, and hte gameplay sucks
World 4 was called X or somethin in Japland.
this is the only one of the three ps1 games where I don't speed up the emulator
what a fucking adventure. when I was a kid and I got to achieve an ultimate digimon, it was pure nirvana; and then just going out and trying to figure out how to recruit digimon without any guides was also magical
also I love that sort of aesthetic specifically. pieces of broken real world tech (pipes, electronic signs, houses) blending in with a natural environment... delicious
did we ever get good diaboromon support for the card game outside of the handtrap evolution one
Yeah, Quartzmon, Kimeramon, and Defense Training.
>images you can hear
>yup yup
>owwwaaaa~!
Why wouldn't it be so popular? It one-ups pokemon in every metric but game design. Unless we're talking about PS1 era.
How can the right one be anything more than a dungeon enemy in the sewer level?
> My only experience with monster franchise is video games
Oh you sweaty bummer child...
Cybersluts and renamon
We have a general in /vg/ and /tg/ so people going between boards isn't shocking
Variety in design. No matter what you like, you are bound to find something you like.
>That one spanish guide that's been copypasted to hell and back telling you you could fight a wargreymon if you do some retarded shit and go to the secret beach cave

I guess digimon was SMT all along.
its good and digitalpunk is a cool concept
Cyber Sleuth(and DLC) is my favourite Digimon game.
>mfw i had the PAL version as a child
I loved this game as a kid and the fact that i always got cucked of half of it is still my white whale.
I hope whoever was in charge of the localization burns in hell
>Having to fight eldritch digital monsters that AREN'T digimon in sleuth
Absolute kino concept.
Those defense stats, though.
They already kind of did it better before, but the Eater battle theme and both final bosses having meme classical music intros was cool.
>They already kind of did it better before
waitwhat
before?
The computer virus Digimon in general typically draw from this trope for a less direct example, like Argomon and Arkadimon. But more specifically while the D-Reaper's origin is technically in human technology and not an eldritch origin, it is essentially the blueprint for what the Eaters are down to having the same general nature without direction IE a core.
Fuck how did I forget about the D-Reaper shit.
I should have realised that every good Digimon trope is just taken from Tamers.
It's good enough to where if we never got another world game, I'd be happy.
It's a great game, it just makes certain purists upset here.
literally like 70% of Digimon media does the "main antagonist is a non-digimon creature" plot
D-Reaper, Vitium, Eaters, The Master, Overlord GAIA, Rogue X, etc.
Its been done in Digimon before but the Eaters are definitely top tier
There are surprisingly very few snake digimon
That's not a digImon
Its a digital lifeform called Vitium
I know
Point still stands
we have water snakes at least

Y'know I was mad confused when I saw so mayn anons lusting after Renamon when I first saw such threads, cause Renamon sounds like a heavyset dude in the dub that I got. I thought those anons were the biggest fucking homosexuals that ever graced the internet
technically they are still homosexuals, it doesn't matter what the Digimon looks like because there is no sexual dimorphism for any digimon, therefore, a female and a male Renamon look identical, therefore Renafags are Schrodinger's homosexual.
>Renafags are Schrodinger's homosexual
Would you make love to one half of Renamon sticking out of a box?

Why doesn't Digimon have a Fate/Grand Order
We kinda already do. One of the plots of the DS Story games is about the digital incarnation of the one who created the digital world losing faith in Tamers and the potential of Digimon over time, eventually making plans to disrupt digivolution as a fundamental concept and erase all useless things from existence. The final battle being an amalgamation of his creations (Digimon/Human hybrids) fusing with him to make the most cursed Fusions ever. That's almost stupid enough to be a Fate/ plot.
>One of the plots of the DS Story games is...
Which one?
Lost Evolution, the one recently translated. The storyline apparently continues in Super Xros Wars too, but I don't speak Lunamon.
>the digital incarnation of the one who created the digital world losing faith in Tamers and the potential of Digimon over time, eventually making plans to disrupt digivolution as a fundamental concept and erase all useless things from existence
Why the fuck is Iggy so obsessed with destroying its own creation over and over? First it was because he was too cheap to just buy a new SSD and now this?
contrarian pokemon
Boys (and girls)... how r we gona escape pokemons shadow...
Release Cyber Sleuth again but this time make it a live service Gacha game.
Bandai need to choose a solid direction and head in it instead of saturating the brand in every direction.
I got it. Make Persona 6 but Digimon.
That's one of those things that can't be accomplished if you try to do it. The people who give Digimon a chance see how it really is. The problem is that Bandai isn't making Digimon look like it's worthy of that chance.
Terrorist attacks
It's on sale. Should I get digimon world new order?
Did you find the first Digimon World too difficult? Did you dislike the way that it has almost no human characters?
It's watered down Digimon World.
For $10 it's not bad, but don't expect anything more than a 6.5/10 game that takes 10 hours to get into a flow of raising monsters.
Oh on switch its $29.99. If your talking about ps4 I don't have one.
What is the thought process behind designing certain digimon?
We should make a fallen angewomon since devimon is a fallen angemon.
>sexo?
>sexo.
sometimes all ot takes is a reference from somewhere
>Shakamon
>based on Shaka of Virgo from Saint Seiya
>I want Kabuterimon, but I want it to be bigger and better.
Digimons are supposed to be created from the imagination of children. The evil demon looking ones are supposed to come from fucked up/degenerate children. Thats the base concept at least.
Where did you get that bullshit from? They're made out of internet data so Ladydevimon made out of porn viruses and meet n fuck kingdom.
The data world is just another dimension that coexists with the real world. The mental state of people especially children can influence the data world..
That's only a thing in some of the melodramatic anime continuities. In the "main" Digimon universe of the DRB/V-pets and the majority of other continuities, Digimon are digital monsters and nothing else.
tits
The rule of cool.
EVIL WOMAN SEXO
canonically hard nipples.
those are piercings
Reminder, you have to make her shit on the floor to evolve into Lilithmon
Digimon is made to appeal to boys.
Boys like guns and swords and dinosaurs and robots and TITS.
Angewomon, but evil.
I kinda miss when pokemon was like that, now they went full pants on head retard
>coins stacked into the shape of a cereal mascot
I know it was on purpose but that's one of the worst Digimon you could've posted it on. The only things that separate Ladydev from an BDSM goth are her claw arm and the leatherman on her shoulder.
notice how in both of these images the pokemon is an actual pokemon while the digimon is something clearly made by someone who only vaguely knows what a digimon might look like
ctrl + f "fix" 0 result(s)
ok, let's go.
How do you fix Digimon World 1 ?
Put the gym into the manner in which you explore and fight, you don't need an actual gym.
>Walk in water: MP goes up
>Climb mountain wall: Str goes up
Then the places you go and things you do influence the evolutions.
>Walking in water simulator
>Climb mountain wall simulator
nope, people will just think the game super sucks because all you do is grinding repeatedly while doing repeated action that's not even fun.
Just finished Next Order yesterday, I really liked it, it offers the same feel as the original world game, if you have a switch/ PS quadruple you should play it, you will get addicted to it for a few days
this is something I liked about next order: there are 3 viable ways to train and get mega mons
>Gym, worst one
You can target specific stats which could help reach certain stat requirements for evolution, but the process is slow and tedious, your mon's life is spent while training, you make no money or get drops
>Battles, best one
In next order there is a Tamer talent tree, with some upgrades you can make battling THE single best way to increase stats for evolution, while at the same time, making money and getting item drops, which then you can use to explore/ buy consumeables for bosses, also, while battling TIME STOPS so your mon is not losing their lives like when training at the gym
>Fishing
At around mid game you can get a fishing hole in your town, you can fish there and then you can sell the fish to make stupid amounts of money, the restaurant also sells stupidly expensive food that increases all your stats if you recruit MagnaAngemon early, which only requires first recruiting Wizardmon to teleport to the snow zone, with the right talents you can make infite money AND increase your digimon's stats at the same time.
Thank you fren.
Add a building that koromon can move to and add ver.5 mons.
Don't put the digimon I'm raising and investing my time on in a short timer.
Watching that little shit die of old age hurts my soul
other than the usual balancing issues that get repeated every thread (like floppy spam and ice statue being broken) honestly it just needs more info being accessible inside the game instead of being a guide-selling game.
>give the player some vague hints about what stats he needs to focus on to get evolutions
>less useless mons that join the town, instead have them make comments about hidden info that have an effect on digivolving like care mistakes, lifetime battles and techniques learned
>have the npcs actually give helpful hints instead of just saying cryptic garbage that may or may not be true (train 10 times as a baby and something good will happen!)
>game feedback when you actually do said cryptic garbage, (train 10 times as a baby/in-training permanently upgrades that training)
>fix the fucking camera in the seadramon fishing spot so you can actually place the bait properly
>>give the player some vague hints about what stats he needs to focus on to get evolutions
the digivolution chart to show requirements for a path after it has been gained.
>Fix giromons jukebox from crashing the game
>Adjust the arena battle strength to evolution level, my megadramon that beat the end boss shouldn't be jobbing to a red vegimon that somehow has 8000 health.
All of these
And lastly
STOP MY DIGIMON BECOMING A DROOLING FUCKING RETARD IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIGHT BECAUSE IT SAW A FUCKING BUTTERFLY.
eh Millenniumon is cooler

I just love the game's art design, I never ever came close to finishing it tbh familia
Because its better than pokemon
Better than Black? Better than Sun? Better than Gold?
I talking about pokemon as a whole, not video games. But since you mention. Yes the ps1 Digimon trilogy BTFO any other pokemon game. If you want me to talk dirty. Ps1 Monster Rancher 1&2 rapes anything pokemon has to offer gaming-wise
>ps1 Digimon trilogy BTFO any other pokemon game
>Monster Rancher 1&2 rapes anything pokemon has to offer
Peak Pokemon is really good. It's hard to go back and play World 3, but Pokemon Silver is incredibly replayable, even compared to Mr2. It's just a better adventure.
>Yes the ps1 Digimon trilogy BTFO any other pokemon game

All the digimon games on the switch were on sale a couple of days ago, if anyone cares. Cyber slut was 50€ cheaper
Question: Why was Digimon World 2's technique design not repeated? Cyber Sluts is so fucking boring in comparison.
Because they are genuinely cool. That's all
>The Digital World isn't actually a world in the internet
Sometimes it is.
Because they look fucking cool
Is Skullgreymon one of the most memorable 90's/2000s cartoon scenes of all time?
Are autobattler like digimon world or is that not what the term is referencing?
Digimon World is more like a pet auto-battler.
The genre term you're looking for is "pet raising sim or simulator". Think The Sims but only controlling 1 character/monster.
Lighting in a bottle: THE GAME.
You know what, if they can combine the digimonxpartner dynamics in survive and mix it with a World 1 type game, it would be fucking kino.
Then people will just say
>ugggh why the digmon y he talkin...
>What you think it will be
>bringing your Meramon to Freezeland and pressing the talk button and he says "let's get the fuck outta here I hate this place"
>What it will be
>I'm hungry!
Those Pokefags can fuck off. The charm of Digimon is always the fact that the Mons are the tamer's "guardian angel". They're the ones who would ask the tamer "is this the right thing to do" but they aren't preachy about it. In the end, the tamer usually grows alongside their mon.
I really want to have a digimon game where you're in the wilderness just you and your digimon bonding.
One of the draws of Digimon is the fact that they can talk, which allows them to have a clearer personalities. For me personality, I get weirded out when a Digimon isn't able to talk and particularly, acts like an animal.
Because Digimon is fun.
> Time to grow up and stop watching kids cartoons

Anon, I think you've mistaken. You're talking about the EVA Rebuilds.
No that's literally the plot of Kizuna and Biginning
But it's free on Bilibili
Doesn't mattter how you watch it, they want you to buy their $20 jigsaw puzzle
Fuck grown up Miyako is cute.
Also God I wish I had a Hawkmon
No one under 30 has ever purchased a jigsaw puzzle deliberately.
I used to think Tri was bad but Kizuna has made me start reconsidering my stance
>Meanwhile Daisuke is running a buisiness with Veemon and couldn’t be happier.
He kept it simple and scaled back on his desires.
Unlike cuckeru
On that note, can anybody spoil me the new movie?
>Name of the big bad digievo
>Name of the big good digievo
>Does Paladin Mode return?
there's nothing new other than the seaslug
Fuck, that's lame
Actually, the seaslug has one (1) typical movie big bad evolution
Nothing else besides it though
I wasn't the biggest fan of Eosmon's ultimate level, but this is a new low for me.
Armadillomon's new voice is cancer.
>Paladin mode does not make an appearance
>No Magnamon either
Movie was better than I expected from spoilers. A lot better than Kizuna with half the team being sidelined(they need to stop that shit already) and the disappearing partner nonsense. Main issue I have it how the story retcons itself into the overall story without really needing too. I think they could have kept it mostly self contained and it still could play out mostly the same.
>Ken and Yolei are hardcore interested in each other too.
They made that ship a lot more believable just by making her hot as hell now.
I would quite literally ensure there wasn’t a single day for the rest of her life that she was not pregnant with my child if i could
>Yolei
I forgot how dorky and cute she was. To be honest, I was expecting Ken to pull a "NO WAY FAG" and Yolei ending up with the MC since Hikiri was already taken. I guess Digi MC's just aren't allowed to be with any of the female party members.
She was cuter than I remembered.
Haven't they raped the originals enough? Holy fuck, it's like watching a simp pay all his money to e-whores, they're just preying on nostalgia and never do justice to the original
The new movie is great, just a simple little side adventure that the kids have while they're older. No big deal, relax.
I played the tutorial app and the Taichi deck suck massive ass.
I watched the original series and had the virtual pet toy, but never played any of the games. And I'm older than most of the posters here, so honestly, I don't know why you guys like the series so much. It was only okay at best.
if you're a real old man then play digimon world 1, it's old timey autism kino and easily my favorite of the series
>I don't know why you guys like the series so much
Because genuine moments of 10/10 throughout the years.
No other series has Our War Game or Tamers or Digimon World 1.
People hang onto Digimon because of that, "Oh shit, that one thing was super good. Maybe something like that will happen again...", like Sonic.

I wouldn't say SC is THAT bad, it was stiff but at least it didn't look crusty as hell.
>It is just fine. It should had been an amazing game with the love and care it deserved
Well yeah in a perfect world every game would be a 10/10.
it blews my mind that medarot still not only exists but generates cash. Japs have a serious management problem, ironic comming from the wageslave culture.
It had some retarded copyright issues for the Western side, but luckily that's been sorted out.
yes but the fans are retarded too
xros wars was undoubtedly a good season yet people hated it and were more hyped on tritrash
the worst thing is how these fucking retards actually say that cyber sluts is better than pokemon sword and shield
the worst pokemon game (X & Y) is miles better than fucking CS
>xros wars was undoubtedly a good season
lol
>the worst pokemon game (X & Y) is miles better than fucking CS
holy mother of shit taste batmon.
>the worst pokemon game (X & Y) is miles better than fucking CS
NTA but yes, that is correct.
The worst mainline pokemon is still better than CS.
The only thing CS has going for it are the 3d models of the Digimons, which are really good and look great! plus there's lots of them!
Absolutely nothing else.
>Story
lmao
>Characters
KEK
>Gameplay
somehow even worse than pokemon
>Maps
Man I sure love blue cubes!
>Exploration
The whole game is literally one straight line. with nothing to explore except maybe get one chest with a useless item. At least in sword and shield you have some hidden pokemons in different areas but here? nothing.
>Sidequests?
You mean main quest, because despite being called sidequest or cases they ARE MANDATORY or you can't progress, I hope you enjoy unskippable cutscenes and scenes with horrible npcs every few minutes!
There is absolutely NOTHING good about CS except for the 3d models, which as I said are great, if you think there is anything good about it please say so, I'd like to hear a real answer besides
>UHHH LE ANIMERINO GIRLERINO MAKES MY DICKERINO HARD THAT MEANS IT'S GOOOD XDD
Serious answers only please, thanks, I'd love to know why you guys think CS is good, like AT ALL.
must feel great being addicted to pokedick
World. It's one of the most pure pieces of Digimon media because it was made before the anime. It's painful but worth it. Just don't be stupid and you can figure it out. It's also the one good Digimon console game that isn't Digital Card Battle.
>troll like you are doing right now.
Because you are a troll.
Why are you responding to me then? Rule 1 of dealing with trolls is don't feed the troll.
Based disingenuous shitposter.
>the worst pokemon game (X & Y) is miles better than fucking CS
for me is Lillie from Digimon Sun and Moon.
Large and broad appeal
*
>tfw you favorite mon is Yamcha tier
I swear I'm not a furry either, I don't even like bara
I really like his Mega form
Didnt like the first cause of the Digimon dying and I was to young to understand it.
Enjoyed the 2nd a lot more with the truck you could make.
3rd was my favorite.
Last one I played was the DS one and loved the FUCK out of it 100% it to.
Ganker opinions will always amaze you.
The game is great though if you were a kid and had endless time to spend.
>frogposter
>dogshit opinion
>lets troons live in his head rent free
checks out
>digimon 1 shitters are trannies
Not surprising. Trannies always have the cringest taste
>doubles down on being retarded
that anon got you good. Cope abd seethe.
now post your opinion of 4 so i can laugh at you harder
Come on man World 2 battles take 4 minutes.
>frogposter
>Godtier opinion
>lets troons kill themselves for free
>checks out
You should go back and give DW1 a real try. It is often seen as the best for the raising a digimon bit. If you only exclusively like the games for the RPG elements then Cyber Sleuth while not perfect is likely the best digimon game to do such currently.
sounds more like you want an RPG game rather than a sim.
>Next digimon game will just be Sonic Frontiers-tier
Did any of you anons preorder the Pendulum color? I skipped the DM color, but I caved on this since the nightmare soldiers device has Loogamon.
I, too, ordered the Nightmare Soldiers one. Wizardmon, Death Meramon, Noble Pumpmon, and Anubimon are some of my favorite Digimon.
I preordered all of them, I never got a OG Pendulum before they got overpriced, miss out on the Pen 20th, and the Z looked dissapointing
It has some of my favorites but just not enough of a pull as the other two
you think Lopmon deserved all the hardcore sexual abuse he wen through?
Why do people hate this fucker on the visual novel game? What the fuck did they do? I have no plans to play it so feel free to spoil it all but maybe be kind to others and spoiler tag it anyway.
No one actually hates Lopmon. The meme is he constantly gets bullied because his tamer in Survive is an insecure shithead.
He's WEAK.
since that digimon movie Lopmon nature is to always play seconds to terriermon and to be hated, that way he always end becoming wendigomon
in the visual novel game the concept of Digimon doesn't exist, they are believed to be some kind of yokai monsters that have existed for thousands of years before computers existed, it makes no sense at first but it can be explained by time traveling quantum computers.
I hate the trope of making someone unlikeable by having them beat an animal up because it's so effective on me. How could someone be mean to this
?
he has a punchable face and looking at him suffer and cry in the game is fun, now I understand those guys who make baby monkey videos
>Hikari has the same profession as you own younger sister
haha...
The humanoid digigirls problem esp Angewomon.
There's not nearly enough porn of Agumon.
i dont want to see porn of my childhood hero
Why does that apply to him and not other anime protagonists.
because hes cool and a dinosaur and i wanted to be him
Again what the difference between him or Tai or Ash who gets alot of porn?
Ganker is for contrarians. Not to say Digimon is BAD but there's a reason it's pretty unpopular everywhere else and that's because it's mid as fuck
dont say that here or the 20 digifags will call you "disingenuous"
>it's mid as fuck
I am so glad this franchise filters zoomers
>filters zoomers
I grew up on Digimon instead of Pokemon, dunno why my parents decided to put it on instead of Pokemon but i'm glad they did, watching Digimon Data Squad growing up may have made me autistic though tbh.
t. technically a zoomer(22)
Your parents sound pretty based.
I think completing Digimon World 2 on the PS1 proves I am autistic.
>mid
the average digimon game WISHES it was good enough to be "mid"
there's a reason the only game anyone gives a shit about is the ps1 game from two decades ago
hate digicosplayer "mons"
i signed up for digital MONSTERS
Christians are monsters.
women are monsters yes
you wish
yes, pokemon also has a "cute" minigame where you can pet them in their parts. who are the weird ones, huh?
I genuinely don't know whether they're that good, it's a shame that in CS all 12 of your slots should be the big famous Digimon because they're the strongest, I wish they balanced it so that megas had different strengths and weaknesses but there are ~4 of every type(Vaccine, Data, Virus and Neutral) that just mog absolutely every other option, my autism will not let me use for example Bancholeomon because Chaosmon mogs him in every way minus DEF.
>that guy who pretends to like DW3
DW3 is just a shitty Pokémon ripoff with none of the quality of life that even existed in Gen 1 and I'm tired of Ganker pretending otherwise.
>t. the best digimon game with the most SOVL alongside DW1
>get to Garurumon
>he forces you to use certain attacks and then counters you
>continually have to deal with his bullshit until you get lucky enough to win
>the rest of the game is super easy afterwards
Fun game, but fuck Garurumon.
was his gimmick the counter X button thing? I didnt have a problem with it but I actually struggled with analogman until I put Hacking in my deck
Yeah, but I think he had other counter attacks, too.
>Analogman
Funnily enough, the last time I played, I had the funniest battle with him.
>play card with counter on circle
>he goes for the circle attack, because it's the biggest damage
>counter him for full damage
>he sends out another Digimon and does it again
>counter again
>he sends out another Digimon and does it again
>counter again
>win
It's funny, because it's almost designed like he's meant to be shit at the card game since he only just learned how to play it.
I haven't seen another card game similar to it but god I hope someone makes a spiritual successor
>be me using special digivolution deck with only champions and ultimates
>use shellmon because it has the highest hp even with the penalty
>instantly special digivolve to omnimon
>use sevens to basically cheat in the game
its so goddamn fun
It would be pretty cool if it got a sequel or spin-off.
>original jp card battle is a retelling of digimon world 1
>machinedramon is the final boss, not a/nalogman
I never understood this, when I first heard I thought oh that makes it being mameo and A returning make some more sense, but no, analogman doesn't even seem to show up in the first game based on japanese LPs I've gleamed
Which Digimon game should I get right now to play?
>DW1
>DW2
>DSCS
Also I actually really REALLY liked the story, especially Hacker's Memory.
the special moves make my dopamine receptors light up no matter how many times I watch them.
>only people blinded by nostalgia dislike Cyber Sleuth
i dislike cyber sleuth because it's a human game featuring digimon, not a digimon game. plus the gameplay is shallow as fuck and there replayability is near-zero because you can't skip cutscenes and most of the fucking game is cutscenes
my favorite mon's signature move didn't pierce defence nor had ungodly levels of SPD, therefore the game was shit
my favorite mons appear in this one but not most other digimon games, therefore the game was good
any other digitcg players here? who hyped for nationals?
Digimon still has a card game?
I thought the only card games around nowadays were Yu-Gi-Oh, MTG and Pokemon.
it does its pretty fun not as complex or magic or ygo but active community
I knew there was one, but I'm surprised it's still around. I thought people left the game after BT-10, specially with the release of Wann Piss TCG.
Games only 3 years old and the player base has just been steadily growing. Combination of ex-big 3 tcg players sick of the state of those games and long time digimon fans that haven’t really had any way to do something in the franchise with other people till now.
I just wanna have fun raising monsters be it digimon monster rancher etc
Because pedophiles want to fuck the fox one
ok but nobody ever posts renamon here and it's not childlike
Just for you guys.
Renamon fags are not digimon fags
https://digimon.net/special/vote18/
>you can only be a Digimonfag if you like one of the 15 most popular ones
Damn
Yes.
https://digimon.net/topic/detail.php?id=166
>Wizardmon and Imperialdramon that low
Thought they were much more popular.
Nice to see Lilithmon getting some love tho.
How were the votes counted? Machinedramon and Magnamon share place 7 while there's no 8th.
You had a list of all available digimon that were in the Digimon Reference Book at the time and each voter could only pick a single digimon, I imagine that there were a few ties
>33rd place SnowAgumon
recolours are cooler than the original
When will my favorite get any attention?
When you ditch him for something cooler and more badass
cute boys
Chaddest digimon line
Hagurumon -> Guardromon -> Andromon -> MetalMamemon / HiAndromon
The monster designs are cool, the juvenile edge aesthetic is charming and the mid 00's style of the digital world is appealing, especially now that those fanciful representations of technology are all but dead with the corporatization of the internet. There's a certain je ne sais quoi about digimon that gives it lasting appeal, almost in spite of the fact that the franchise as a whole is wasted potential
>the first ModokiBetamon south of the Gym
is there a digimon that's suffered more as the punching bag to satisfy the battle requirement for digivolutions and easy recovery item farming?
yeah, my own, as i postpone his sleep several hours specifically so i can save in front of a specific one-time-fight mon, expecting to learn a tech
sleep deprivation is actually a good strategy though, since it only counts as a care mistake if you wait until he no longer wants to sleep. I recall it also had a neat trick where no matter how many hours you sleep it adds +8 hours toward your next evolution so it lets you both evolve faster or roll for vademon if you want him.
And still we only have one digihag...
>middle
>right
who are these?
Ghost Game and Survive, respectively.
damn i gotta play survive now
I love how her reveal in survive literally only worked if you are new to digimon
Why haven't they just made a Pokemon(Digimon) game? Surely if they're deadset on copying Nintendo they should have made one by now?
But I do
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/q09Ke1YzjUg
World 3 and maybe Cyber Sleuth are that and they both suck.
Sex with WarGreymon
Sure, why not?
and his big feet
Post mons.
Leomon was trans all along?
man, I hate the american labeling for the evolutions
Digimon has only ever been popular during season 1 20 years ago
I wish Digimon names were consistent between Japanese and English
I wish burgers didn't fuck up the tier list names.
>Ultimate has 2 different meanings depending on where you're from
200 years and still need to find a way to be ass backwards.
Appeals to zoophiles
it's kino
jellymon sex
What's something about modern digimon you don't like? For me I wish there were no adult stage mons that are just big version of the child stage.
too much focus on humans
a lot of the more powerful ones have really generic and busy designs
Not enough focus on humans
YOOO, THAT FUCKING INTRO, WHEN DOES THE BD RELEASE?
One thing I like about the anime is how it's basically "anime in the real world" if that makes any sense. Like the first arc is typical anime shenanigans, then later they deal with shit like survivor's guilt and depression.
Same reason v likes Xbox and hates playstation. V is an underdog board.
Ganker likes xbox????
I just watched the Digimon X movie for the first time in my 31 years of life. Am I correct in concluding it's psychotic? It's got the exaltation of the antichrist as an unknowing mechanism in the destruction of the world. Plus the CG is nothing like I thought it would have been when I saw the untranslated intro as a child. I felt like I was having a fever dream.
It's the anti-Pokemon.
>Cherubimon has x-antibody version for both forms
>Ophanimon has x-antibody version for both forms
>Seraphimon has fucking nothing
There’s ShadowSeraphimon. It used to just be Mercurymon merely pretending but they made it a real thing in the reference book.
I like that the little V-pet sprites continue to be a part of Digimon by being a status effect and that V-pets still get made so newer monsters get sprites.
I just want a good sequel to Digimon World.
>I want to make a GTAV MMO Digimon game in 2 weeks
no that'd be Palworld
Which Digimon games on Steam are worth playing?
Cyber Slut
If you want a mindless jrpg CS. If you want to read melodrama Survive. If you want Digimon World but more and worse Next Order.
Digimon cyber sleuth is fun.
I want fat digimon males!
No such thing
Because this is one of my favorite games of all time.
>try to get a friend into World 1
>I don't want to backseat him so I just watch his adventures
>he praises his partner constantly not understanding what that's doing to its discipline
>shits everywhere because of this
>gets fucking Tyrannomon so RIP his food supply
>quits after the first digimon death and calls the game the worst thing he's ever played
I wanted to backseat him SO hard but he never asked, and now I feel like his bad time with the game I love so much is my fault.
To be honest it's a really tedious fucking game.
I'm on my fourth generation and I'm using Dukemon X. We're going to utterly slaughter that sack of shit of a host computer.
Godspeed to you and your digital hitler.
BanchoGankoomon. That is my contribution to this thread.
My contribution is THE Twentiest. You will not find a twentier digimon than this.
Which game should I start with?
>World 1
The most S O V L, but also the most obtuse, hidden, and punishing mechanics, it is VERY easy to fuck up raising your digimon unless you have prior knowledge on how to do it.
>It'll tell you everything you need to know about raising your digimon
It never tells you that the training hall is a waste of time.
To be fair I don't think that grinding that one Sorcerimon over and over instead of going to the gym was an actual intended design.
Battling in general is just a better way to train.
Also an unused metaletemon in game.
Are there other digimon that have an automatic +infinity modifier for fucking your shit up when fighting against a certain kind of mon?
