Why is everyone pretending to like Metroid now? Back when they were making games nobody fricking bought them. Their sales were trash. Now it’s selling really well and everybody on Twitter is shilling it

Because idiots didn't buy it in the past but that didn't stop many people from emulating the games in later years and developing a fanbase that's old enough now to actually buy the game.

      Le ebin Metroidvania indie!!

Both correct. 2D Metroid may see a resurgence from the hours of youtube videos that praise Metroid’s game design, “metroidvanias” spawned by indie developers that wanted to make their own Metroid-like game, and others who were curious about the Metroid Prime 4 hype over the last 4 years. It’s not hard to see why people seem to be ready to support Metroid now vs then.

Everything about the switch is people trying to fit in

And I'm sick of homosexuals shitting on Fusion all the time because heaven forbid a single entry do something different to stand out.

Yeah and I don't shit on Other M for doing something different nor Prime. Stop trying to make every subsequent title a Super clone.

Did you play it? What is it that you didn't like? I'm pretty sure you're just a gay who took the hate for it and made up his mind without giving it a try.

I'm Gen Z. When most metroid games came out I was either not conceived yet or I was still a child for some of the prime games. A lot of my generation has found interest in the series leading to new fans. Thanks to hand me downs and emulation.

    I can explain why.
Its on the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo's best selling home console only 2nd to the Wii. Massively popular and shitton of people own it.
Metroid Dread is also the only major first party title they have so they're going to shill the shit out of it. It's only natural that, ontop of Metroid drought in general, this would be a highly anticipated, highly selling entry.

The last real Prime game was 13 years ago. The last real 2D Metroid that wasn't a remake was 19 years ago. Since then we've gotten shovelware like Fed Force, or dumpster fires like Other M. People are excited, anon.
