>>FSN: grand adventure that's almost whimsical
You haven't even fucking read it
It's pretty similar to Tsukihime
Everyone saying Grand Order's Avalon le Fae is on par with Fate. This true?
do Saber and Shirou end up together in the end or was I jebaited?
because after watching the anime some anon told me that this is not a generic nip gimderp story so they meet again, but I have no idea how to get into the rest of it
You need to complete all the route endings in the visual novel in order to unlock this ending.
Alternatively, there is also a manga version of it and a 15 seconds short clip by Ufotable that is locked behind Type moon museum.
Just search up FSN last episode on Youtube.
It is an epilogue for the Fate Route, and there isn't really much to it after this, and you can read it on youtube to find out why. Shirou is pretty much a dead at this point.
The VN is genuinely fun to read and has cool shounen moments that are properly built up to in each route. The finales of UBW and HF are cool as shit and feel satisfying.

Did what the West used to do, like Blizzard & Bethesda. Lore, AUTISTIC LEVEL OF LORE. People give it shit because sameface which is fair, so why don't people get bored of it? Because behind every character there's a ridiculous amount of lore butchered from reality and made it into it's own universe. Morrowind & Skyrim had autistic level of world building. Blizzard butchered Warhammer but got a pass as so much of it was expanded as its own thing. After WoW the world building was fucked in favour of 'fun expansion'. No long term vision, or overwhelming vision. Fate still pulls it off because it's a fucking JPG that people will spend $1000 on to obtain.
>Morrowind & Skyrim had autistic level of world building.
correction. TES 2 and 3 had autistic level of world building, and to an extent 4. 5 was lazy and was pigging backing off it's older siblings' success while diluting the formula with it's woefully ignorant, misguided, and sometimes downright malicious changes to the lore
Archer is depressed because he wanted to be a hero, but that meant killing over and over and over again endlessly, thousands of corpses stacked up under him. He's so exhausted and disillusioned that he tries to go back in time to kill himself in order to prevent himself from becoming a hero in the first place. How does UBW resolve this? Shirou just tells him to keep doing it and he says "okay lol". That's literally what happens
That's not what happens at all, Shirou doesn't tell Archer to keep doing it. Shirou says that he himself will do the same no matter what, because no matter the misery his borrowed ideal is beautiful, and deep inside Archer agrees, much like Shirou isn't happy at knowing that Archer suffers, because they are the same.

Shirou says that he himself will do the same no matter what, because no matter the misery his borrowed ideal is beautiful, and deep inside Archer agrees, much like Shirou isn't happy at knowing that Archer suffers, because they are the same.
Doesn't Archer also kind of realize that Rin was right and that he's fucked no matter what he does because the throne of heroes exists outside of regular space time?
>What was the message of UBW?
Self-fulfillment and balance. Each route has various symbols that represent the overall idea and message. Caliburn (pure ideal, breaks under pressure), Kanshou and Bakuya (balance), and the sword cancer in HF represented the ideal killing Shirou from the inside out.
Ultimately all routes wind up with similar results. There's very low chance Shirou will ever become Archer, but all three routes represent different stages of Shirou's coming to terms with his ideal, the problems it holds for him in the future, and his decision.
Fate and UBW are mostly the same: the ideal is objectively self-destructive but fulfilling.
Heaven's Feel he learns to prioritize those important to him instead of just anyone.
I don't beleive in popularity. It all feels forced. Like all these pop culture icons appear overnight and media talks as if they've always been a thing. Never heard of Fate then suddenly it's billion dollar gacha or whatever
I'd like to think myself aware enough but I guess it could be me living under a rock or something
>Never heard of Fate then suddenly it's billion dollar gacha or whatever
The gacha was when it really exploded but it had anime series, movies and multiple games even before that.

Nasu was already famous before FSN.
>Iwakami: It started off with Aniplex working with Type-Moon to bring Fate to anime form with Fate/Zero and Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works. And not just the Fate series. In 2007, we did The Garden of Sinners movies. After we were done with Fate/Zero, we were talking with Takeshi Takeuchi of Type-Moon about a new way to develop Fate, and a smartphone game was one of the ideas that we came up with. So Type-Moon started working on Fate/Grand Order as one of the official numbered titles in the Fate series.
>Takeuchi: Many anime studios wanted to make Fate/Zero into an anime, but as far as actually doing that, I couldn't feel very excited about the idea. It was a story that came into being out of the love and respect that Urobuchi-san had for Fate/stay night, and was designed to deepen the enjoyment a reader could get out of Fate. Adapting it into an anime might mean stepping on that love, and I didn't want to make something that didn't capture the feeling of the original novels.
>Nasu: Many anime fans want there to be a lot of cute bishoujo characters in the work, and while they work hard to meet those needs, Iwakami, an important producer at Aniplex, wasn't satisfied just by doing that. I suggested that he tackle Fate/Zero, a dark and serious story full of raw emotion. He had the resolve, and that's how they ended up adapting Fate/Zero.
Context for this: Iwakami turned down to adapt FSN because he didn't want to adapt a bishoujo harem series, so Nasu proposed Zero. You'll notice UBW was changed to follow Zero mood too, with all Saber's waifu scenes modified and portrayed as Shirou's surrogate "mom". The "dark mature stuff" isn't a secondary meme, it's Nasu's description of Fate/Zero.
>Q: In the first month of 2004 Fate went on sale. What was the reaction to it like? >Takeuchi: They seemed to really like it, which made us very happy. >Nasu: It was a title we believed in, so seeing it sell well gave us a lot of confidence. The reactions to it were both good and, in some cases, a little hollow. It was a victory that was both satisfying and hollow. >Takeuchi: He's speaking of the Sakura route. A lot of people were disatisfied with it. Hence, the hollow feeling. >Nasu: Yes, although recently more people are warming up to it. When it first came out, people were so excited and pleased by the Saber and Rin routes that they expected to keep proceeding down the royal road. The Sakura route is not like that at all, and they had trouble accepting that when it first appeared. We learned a lot from that experience.
>映像を信じていない、映像を見せられると自分の矛盾やウソを突きつけられると語ったきのこに『俺の文章はこ ういう絵に出来るのか』と思わせたhf……本当にすごいと改めて思った… >At first, Nasu didn't believe HF could make for a good movie, and that seeing it animated would just expose his lies and inconsistencies, but seeing Sudou's adaptation amazed him and made him think "So my writing can be be turned into art like this?". >これが先に出来ていたらCCCは無かったと言わしめる >According to Nasu, if the HF movies had come out first, he would never have made CCC.
>Why is Fate so popular
Fate Zero came out at the right time for the gimmick to hit the mainstream in the west.
Then the franchise managed to ride that hype for a while but it's died down in recent years with people only checking in for designs for porn these days.
>What does Zero do better than Stay Night.
Have a good anime adaption? Zero kick started peoples interest in Fate in the west purely because it's a mix of the writer, the "more mature tone" and the fact it was animated by Ufotable in an era where the only fate adaption before was a mediocre Fate route adaption by Deen.
Add in the fact it cut out a lot of the slice of life stuff in an era of anime where western audiences wanted more "mature" stories it was the perfect storm to kick peoples interest off in fate during the 2010's.
But the problem is, Zero's a stand out in direction compared to the majority of fate which is arguably why interest in the franchise has dwindled over time.
Zero has always been kino.
>Nasu: I was thinking of asking you to write an additional story for Fate/hollow ataraxia. The text you turned in that became Fate/Zero was amazing.
>Urobuchi: I went in thinking I'd just be writing a short story. I didn't have any confidence in myself to write that many volumes. But Nasu-san, you made a big sandbox. It's hard to avoid playing in it. "It'd be good to addt his episode!" "I want to have this epic hero make an appearance!" I ended up having a lot of fun. I ended up writing for the joy of writing itself. I didn't worry about when the end was coming. At the time I was lamenting my inability to make a happy end for my stories, but the activity of creating Zero helped me to address that. I never thought it was going to have that effect on me. After writing the first volume, I immediately started on the second. I wanted to share the feeling of Fate/Zero with the world. Even if it's just a plain piece of music, sometimes the performance itself is enough to let the audience have fun. I was aiming to have fun writing the story. In fact, I think Fate/stay night is a work that inspires its audience to make these kinds of works.
>Interviewer: Have you noticed how you have very different feelings when you encounter Fate/stay night and Fate/Zero?
>Urobuchi: Reading the novels makes me get into the character of people in the Fate universe, which is understandable since the book was designed to appeal to Fate/stay night fans. I loaded up the novel with lots of references to things in the Fate 'verse, and unexpectedly it ended up serving some hints as to what will happen in Fate/stay night.

Unironically no Shirou autism that drags the whole VN down. Yes he gets better in HF but many people drop the VN during the Fate route because of how horrible it is.
I've read Tsukihime and Saya no Uta, and have decades worth of second-hand Fate knowledge, I can safely say Fate didn't get big on the merits of Nasu's writing.
Nasu: Although at first I didn't feel like turning stay night into a game. It was 2000. We'd just gotten back from Winter Comiket, where we'd sold Tsukihime. We went to Kamata and dined on curry. In between mouthfuls of food, Takeuchi told me, [Well Nasu-san, the next thing for us to make into a game and sell will be stay night.] That was something he'd been telling me for a while. At the time, I had no desire to go back and restructure something I'd already given up on, and Takeuchi's suggestion [You should turn Saber into a girl] made me wonder what the heck he was thinking. Shortly after that, I was headed back towards Chiba on an airplane from Narita airport, and I got to thinking about a new version of the story. I called Takeuchi on the phone and said [This might work. Let's give it a shot.] After that, I began to work on producing a different version of stay night.
Urobuchi: It had a different design originally. The main character was a girl, and most of the Servants were male. The setup of the story was interesting, and I think it might have been received well.
Nasu: At the time, I wasn't thinking of making it into a game that'd be welcomed be female fans.
Takeuchi: If it's going to be a bishoujo game, it'll be difficult to release if the protagonist is a woman. So we started to discuss the idea of replacing the protagonist with a male.
Urobuchi: At the time, I was hearing amazing things about a doujin game called Tsukihime, and apparently it had some great-looking jacket art. It was a bishoujo game, and the demand for it was unheard of. As someone who works in the same field, I became interested in knowing Nasu-san. When he wanted to interview me, I graciously accepted.

He probably means like the art on the dust jacket of a book.
They either didn't know it or thought it to be irrelevant so long as they reach their goal.
The blow out is only known to direct participants in the 4th, Kerry, Kirei, Zouken, Gil.
Judging by Iri's reaction when she got blacked inside the Grail they either didn't know or the cheeky old man Jubstacheit didn't tell her because he wanted Japan to be destroyed since he hates it
>Tsukihime is harder to digest for some especially with Shiki going insane.
Filtered?
Tsukhime is truly a story about optimism, valuing yourself, appreciating your life, and moving boldly into the future. Death might not be as close to our doors as it is to Shiki’s… but, then again, you never know. That is why the lessons in this story are so applicable. You are alive now, but maybe not tomorrow. So look on your past fondly, smile at yourself in the mirror now and again, and hope lovingly for the future. Shiki is someone who has about a decade or two of life left, and he messes around with two immortal beings in the main routes.
The entire Ciel True, Hisui True and Shiki-SHIKI conversation in Kohaku were the best moments.
It's mostly the conversation with SHIKI in Kohaku's route, though it's well distributed throughout the whole game. Shiki expresses how out of place he feels, and it's obvious he doesn't necessarily want to connect with his friends at school. It's subtle, but the character arc of him learning that he needs to accept living is definitely there, and is only spelled out in the eclipse. And of course, the idea that society rejects, or is afraid of anyone who is different from the norm is present throughout the whole thing.
In the epilogue, Shiki fatefully meets Aoko again and they muse a little bit about old times past. Shiki notes how the past several days/weeks (the span of X route) have been crazy. And some point Aoko tells him that those days will eventually end. Shiki agrees and asks something to the effect of when. The Magus just kind of remains silent and freaking Shiki just tells her that the days were fun, though
>2010s - The taking apart of the Holy Grail War. >Ten years after the Fifth War. Lord Emelloi II (real name, Waver Velvet. One of the Masters of the Fourth War) arrived in Fuyuki and together with the head of the Tohsaka line, set out to completely take apart the Great Grail. The Association was planning on bring back the Greater Grail, so the two sides were completely opposed. After the end of the great turmoil of the same magnitude as the Grail War, the Greater Grail was completely dismantled. The Grail Wars of Fuyuki came to a complete conclusion here.
It's really well written and layered in a way almost like a real book. It makes better use of literary techniques than most anime or visual novels.
It's also got something for everyone.
Fightfags, foodfags, fagfags, storyfags, etc.
Yeah, I didn't know about that shit since I don't play FGO. I think one anon called him out, and that was how I learn about it.
Apparently, it was over some Muramasa and Artoria Avalon shit on /vg/ back then.
There are all sorts of them, with the raikoschizo entity the worst, don't bother with them, not knowing about their threads messes or their constant trash talks certainly won't ruin your sleep.

All those threads are made by same people and have same posters. Inane question about fate (from someone who already know the answer) and fake discussion. Though the last thread in /a/ with FGO lore was good.
Yeah. Shirou never actually truly beats any Servant in any route, least of all alone. Even in Sparks Liner High, he winds up dying before the finishing blow to Saber. Herc in HF was on his last lift, skinless, blind and half dead already. Gil in UBW he ran out of mana (which was already mostly Rin's) and had to be saved by Archer.
>Even in Sparks Liner High, he winds up dying before the finishing blow to Saber.
Wasn't Saber restricted by her environment too in that fight? My memory is a bit foggy.
>Even in Sparks Liner High, he winds up dying before the finishing blow to Saber.

Why is Sparks Liner High considered the peak of the VN?
It's good, but I don't think it's the peak of the VN
Though I find it amusing that Saber hinted at Shirou being able to beat her since Fate route, and we finally saw it in HF.

There was a scene where Shirou revealed his wish to Rin, and Rin laughed at him because Archer had the same wish It's world peace
Can't find a screenshot in my folder but the part where Saber looks disappointed in Shirou for even suggesting he come up with a "supermove" was funny considering that's how he beat her in HF.
Serious Gilgamesh is just "ea gg lmao" which wins against almost anyone because it's an overpowered universe shredding dildo.
Without Ea, Archer could beat Gil. Maybe. Depends on how the armor is utilized.
Download a torrent. I used nyaa.si
The web version is highly inferior in terms of presentation; it's meant to be used for easily referencing specific scenes, not to actually read.
It's an old, traditional meme dating back to an anon dropping a screenshot with ridiculous fucking tabs. Now if you post a screenshot, it's tradition to have a gay sex with hats on tab open.
Be aware, you'll want to keep the route map that's provided opened so that you hit all the Bad Ends and get the Tiger Dojo scenes, aka the best part of the story.
>Don't like many spin-offs though
I can understand why but that all stuff is like crack to me. Funny enough though never watched any of the anime adaptions of the routes since it seemed pointless to just watch a worst version of something I already experienced.
I recommend UBW at least. The director is a big fan and very supportive to Nasu and encouraged him the whole development of the anime. Nasu wound up very happy with it and the visual motifs and subtleties like parallels were handled smartly.
I like to post pic related as an example.
The whole fight, Archer clutches onto Bakuya (sword of truth) while stabbing Shirou over and over with Kanshou (sword of ideal).
In the end, Shirou winds up with just a broken, crumbling Kanshou, and the final shot of the fight is the two swords making a pure white, unbalanced yin-yang symbol.
In the same fight, Shirou quite literally uses Kanshou (ideal sword) as a crutch as the only thing keeping him on his feet.
Near the end, when Shirou's fully resolved, his own reality marble starts overlapping Archer's. You see the sky turning clear, gears disappearing as he makes his last rush up the hill.
Even better, while the Emiya song plays, at the same time, Shirou's own Emiya overlaps the song with the reality marble.
Then there's a ton of other little tidbits like pic related. (Ilya does this same gesture in F/Z)
Also as another callback to Fate/Zero, Kotomine circles Shirou like a predator while explaining the HGW in the same way Tokiomi and his dad did in the first episode of F/Z.

They also completely fuck it up and change it majorly from the vn.
>Funny enough though never watched any of the anime adaptions of the routes since it seemed pointless to just watch a worst version of something I already experienced.
Deen version has some scenes that I recommend watching like Shirou meeting Saber for the first time or Archer vs Berserker.
watching LP of the new fate game that came out to see if i wanna buy it >starts off with generic poor boy gets magic and brings in super woman >find out saber is a cunt and only cares about fighting and food >find out the MC teacher comes back as a servant but is now a super hot woman with huge tits >then meet some slow talking retarded monstrosity with eyes so far apart that i am shocked it was allowed appears >then you're after some guy who is drawn as a girl (could be plot twist that he's a she)
after all that i just said nah, stopped the LP and decided not to buy
maybe i picked the wrong place to start but shit is dumb, generic and boring.
>i picked the wrong place to start
Definitely. Samurai Remnant full of fanservice meant for established fans and is written by the worst writer of the franchise.
At least start by watching Fate/Zero like most do if you can't stomach reading the original VN but still want to get into Fate.
>Samurai Remnant full of fanservice meant for established fans and is written by the worst writer of the franchise.
I just finished the game recently and holy fuck the amount of Musashi snatchsucking in the game is unreal. This writer literally cannot write a single story without worshipping her.
Also pretty disappointed with all the other characters too. Barely touched on, shallow everything, cheap musou lite gameplay. Fate will never get a decent videogame.
>That's every Fate work that wasn't written by Nasu.
Fae Britain was a joy to read. Even side characters get a wealth of characterization. I fucking hated Aurora and still felt a bit choked up with her death in the end. I hope Nasu gets to make something original and on that level again soon, but without the baggage attached by the gacha.
I honestly don't know. I didn't really pay attention to Type-Moon when it was still fairly new and Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night were all over Ganker with something about porkslope turkeyhandle, then I just sort of forgot it existed until every porn artist started drawing nothing but Fate characters that I know nothing about.
Anyone that asks that question doesn't even have the barest idea of what Fate is.
You have Historical and Mythological figures, with some of them depicted as cute girls, fighting in a Battle Royale with wizards.
Any other answer, at least pertaining to FSN, is bullshit and cope.
Why is Fate Zero popular? Because Urobutcher wrote it.
Why is FHA popular? It isn't.
Why is FGO popular? dicky.
>buy the fsn+ha box set from mandrake since its my favorite vn unironically >checking out the attached artbooks >one pic has Rin and Saber bathing, with Rin sticking her naked foot out to the camera
Even waay before Ishtar, they knew what the best fetish is.
Can someone point me to a place where I can download (or buy a download) this song. Not the Carnival Phantasm version, this is the Grand Carnival version.
I'm sorry I'm too stupid to figure out how to cut off the audio from yt-dlp to make sure the last bit at the end of the song is excluded. And I don't want to edit a low-quality audio rip in Audacity and export it because that just means you'll end up with shit quality because you used a shit base recording.
Thanks for the link but that's the second season OST, which is only an assortment of instrumentals. This is also available on nyaa but not the thing I'm looking for.
Because it's not.
It's Fate Stay/Night.
Because it's Japan and they like to do sully things when they use English, it's not supposed to be read "Fate Stay Night", it's "Fate Stay OVER Night".
Now what the fuck THAT means, I'm not entirely clear on.
Just a reminder that there was plan to release Fate in way how Nasu is releasing Tsukihime remake now. With first part being named Fate/Stay Night and contain only Saber Route and Rin/Archer Route. And later would come second part named Fate/Other Night and contain Sakura Route and Illya Route.
>Fate/stay night
Saber route
Archer/Rin route (Tohsaka route) >Fate/other night
Illya route (Einzbern route)
Sakura route (Matou route)
Fate/side material

>Rejected Routes
Exactly what it sounds like. Route ideas that didn’t make the cut.
In the beginning, the plan was for Fate/stay night to have four different routes, one for each heroine.
It would start off by letting the player arbitrarily choose between playing as either Shirou or Rin. Then around the middle of the story they would finally meet, and after that you would branch off into one of the four routes for the last half of the game. Yeah, I don’t really understand how it was going to work either.
Anyway, getting back to the rejected routes, it goes without saying that the Illya route tops the list.
Besides that, there was also the “Rider route where you fight against Rin and Saber,” and the “Caster route where Caster gets turned into a e-boi and becomes your partner.”
While all traces of the Caster route were completely erased, the development where you teamed up with Rider was actually folded into part of the final story.
If the Illya route had made it into the game, the diversion point probably would have been on the ninth day of the Sakura route. Instead of choosing between being a superhero and choosing Sakura, there would be a third choice where you could choose Illya.
But unfortunately, as it stands that choice doesn’t exist.
>I think words "stay night" were once in some tsukihime-related stuff, Nasu just likes this chuuni phrase probably.
>Witch on the Holy Night >The Garden of Sinners >Tsukihime: Blue Blue Glass Moon, Under the Crimson Air >Tsukihime PLUS+DISK: Alliance of Illusionary Eyes >Tsukihime Kagetsu Tohya: Twilight Glass Moon, Fairy Tale Princess >MELTY BLOOD: Hologram Summer, Night on the Blood Liar >MELTY BLOOD Re-ACT - Through the Looking-Glass, Fairy Tale Transparently >MELTY BLOOD Actress Again Current Code - Hologram Summer Again, Tri-Hermes Black Land >Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works]. I am the bone of my sword. Steel is my body and fire is my blood. I have created over a thousand blades. Unaware of loss, Nor aware of gain. Withstood pain to create weapons, waiting for one’s arrival. I have no regrets. This is the only path. My whole life was Unlimited Blade Works. >Live or Die by the Sword. This right here. This scene is why I remain a Saberfag to this day. Even though the other routes have cool dialogues about morals, ideals, the meaning of being a hero, and saving the people you truly love, none of that hits as hard as the gut punch that is the ending to the Fate route.
There is no one /here/ that can stomach this scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDMXVvHSnJ0
Even if you thought Fate was underwhelming, as soon as this scene hits, you "get" the series.

The far side route had a more darker tone if you are interested in that.
There is also the manga adaptation to Arc route that is arguably better than the VN.

Shirou is pretty much a dead at this point.
Realta Nua added a new ending to the Fate route. There is also no real "true ending". All the endings for each route is canon.
purely by how good the story is
VNfags will tell you otherwise but it's the best the media has to offer
The VN is genuinely fun to read and has cool shounen moments that are properly built up to in each route. The finales of UBW and HF are cool as shit and feel satisfying.

Examples?
Chuuni appeal without getting too ridiculous.
>Morrowind & Skyrim had autistic level of world building.
correction. TES 2 and 3 had autistic level of world building, and to an extent 4. 5 was lazy and was pigging backing off it's older siblings' success while diluting the formula with it's woefully ignorant, misguided, and sometimes downright malicious changes to the lore
good character designs
Fate had Soul.
What was the message of UBW?
Doesn't Archer also kind of realize that Rin was right and that he's fucked no matter what he does because the throne of heroes exists outside of regular space time?
He always knew it, Archer is a smart man, it's a hopeless, desperate gamble that he wants to try anyway. He has little to lose.
That's pretty schizo anon
A most tricky outlook.
>Never heard of Fate then suddenly it's billion dollar gacha or whatever
The gacha was when it really exploded but it had anime series, movies and multiple games even before that.
>Kara no Kyoukai
>Tsukihime
>Kagetsu Tohya

Heroes of old being summoned to fight in the modern era is the coolest shit
Memorable art and style, memorable actors, easily accessible story, enough sophistication to entice mystic looks.
Cumming inside hot cartoon babes.
>映像を信じていない、映像を見せられると自分の矛盾やウソを突きつけられると語ったきのこに『俺の文章はこ ういう絵に出来るのか』と思わせたhf……本当にすごいと改めて思った…
>At first, Nasu didn't believe HF could make for a good movie, and that seeing it animated would just expose his lies and inconsistencies, but seeing Sudou's adaptation amazed him and made him think "So my writing can be be turned into art like this?".
>これが先に出来ていたらCCCは無かったと言わしめる
>According to Nasu, if the HF movies had come out first, he would never have made CCC.
What did Nasu mean by this?
Hollow is a word he uses more than once. Hmmm.
Sakura's used-up pussy is cavernous and rings like a gong
He wanted more Sakura back then.
>Why is Fate so popular
Fate Zero came out at the right time for the gimmick to hit the mainstream in the west.
Then the franchise managed to ride that hype for a while but it's died down in recent years with people only checking in for designs for porn these days.
What does Zero do better than Stay Night?
No slice of life nonsense
Shit taste. The SoL moments are great.
SoL can be good, but who in the everloving fuck looks to Fate for its 45 minute long hangout scenes?
Me. It makes the characters all the more endearing. I also like Shirou's cooking/cleaning autism being being driven by his need to help others.
Jets.
I loaded up the novel with lots of references to things in the Fate 'verse, and unexpectedly it ended up serving some hints as to what will happen in Fate/stay night.
>the book was designed to appeal to Fate/stay night fans.
just forgot about Enuma Elish bro
Did she ever see Gil use Ea? In the anime he uses it only on Iskandar.
But the problem is, Zero's a stand out in direction compared to the majority of fate which is arguably why interest in the franchise has dwindled over time.
zero has more action so it had a better anime adaptation
Unironically no Shirou autism that drags the whole VN down. Yes he gets better in HF but many people drop the VN during the Fate route because of how horrible it is.

I've read Tsukihime and Saya no Uta, and have decades worth of second-hand Fate knowledge, I can safely say Fate didn't get big on the merits of Nasu's writing.
How did it get there then?
What get where?
To the bigness, duh!
The merits of Urobuchi's writing.
>was already a bestselling LN a decade before Zero's adaptation
explain yourself
What light novel is that?
How do you know Fate isn't twice as good as Tsuki?
When he wanted to interview me, I graciously accepted.
>jacket art
What does this expression mean?
He probably means like the art on the dust jacket of a book.
Who is the worst family?

they didnt know
They either didn't know it or thought it to be irrelevant so long as they reach their goal.
The blow out is only known to direct participants in the 4th, Kerry, Kirei, Zouken, Gil.
Judging by Iri's reaction when she got blacked inside the Grail they either didn't know or the cheeky old man Jubstacheit didn't tell her because he wanted Japan to be destroyed since he hates it
Zero should’ve been written by narahara or Haganeya
King or Mo-chan?
it decent concept thats written well enough. it didn't really grab me but i have become completely bored by how combat is done in japanese media.
Can't imagine being a person who got into this franchise with Zero and then seeing what it became with FGO, Illya and the later Extra entries.
>Can't imagine being a person who got into this franchise with Zero and then seeing what it became with FGO, Illya and the later Extra entries.
The main story and original work has always been Fate/stay night. Hollow, Zero, Unlimited Codes, Case Files are just spinoffs of it.
Granny skirt > miniskirt by far.
And that granny skirt in Re was cool.
Arc's route is poor.
lllya started in 2007.
And that shit's still not ended?
Feels like 5 years since the other world arc started it's big final battle.
A better question is why is Fate more popular than Tsukihime?
Higher production quality, Hero from the past, and battle royal.
Tsukihime is harder to digest for some especially with Shiki going insane.
>Filtered?
Yes. That was what I am saying.
>what are the routes about

Then I will do nothing and not play Tsukihime,
Name one scene from Tsukihime that's as good as this.

When will we get this story?
Right after the stories describing the first, the second and the third wars.
It's really well written and layered in a way almost like a real book. It makes better use of literary techniques than most anime or visual novels.
It's also got something for everyone.

Why does a fate thread on Ganker have less schizo than the one on /a/?
You've yet to see /vg/ one.
I already know about that since one of them come to shit on Shirou on /a/
Ah. They are a real piece of work, eh?
Yeah, I didn't know about that shit since I don't play FGO. I think one anon called him out, and that was how I learn about it.
Apparently, it was over some Muramasa and Artoria Avalon shit on /vg/ back then.
There are all sorts of them, with the raikoschizo entity the worst, don't bother with them, not knowing about their threads messes or their constant trash talks certainly won't ruin your sleep.
>FGO
If it's not connected to FSN, it doesn't matter
Off Topic Theory of Quality
Go make a video game thread on Ganker.
To be fair I've seen some truly atrocious fate threads on Ganker, but this one is civilized for the most part so it's nice.
All those threads are made by same people and have same posters. Inane question about fate (from someone who already know the answer) and fake discussion. Though the last thread in /a/ with FGO lore was good.
>no ORT-chan as joke
One fucking job.
And no, fuck Kuku
UNLIMITED BUDGET WORKS
UBW > Fate > HF
HF is the worst because Sakura and Shinji were not properly saved from their tragic history.
I liked that in UBW it had a very optimistic ending for Sakura and Shinji.
>I liked that in UBW it had a very optimistic ending for Sakura and Shinji.
Nasu confirmed in multiple interviews that Sakura can only be saved in HF True.
Its a cool shounen story like Dragonball Z. UBW was Shirou’s super saiyan moment when he beat Gilgamesh
>he beat Gilgamesh
Didn't Archer save his ass?
Yes.
Yes. He even deployed rho aias for him.
Yeah she couldn't just spam excaliblasts (though the HF movies made her do that anyway because the director was an absolute hack).
It's not, but it's a cool fight in which Shirou manages to 1 vs 1 Saber and beat her (at the cost of his own life).
Why is Sparks Liner High considered the peak of the VN?
it's for nihilistic edgelords
>it's for nihilistic edgelords
Just like HF?
there's nothing nihilistic about HF aside from a few bad endings
It's good, but I don't think it's the peak of the VN
Though I find it amusing that Saber hinted at Shirou being able to beat her since Fate route, and we finally saw it in HF.
>Though I find it amusing that Saber hinted at Shirou being able to beat her since Fate route, and we finally saw it in HF.
Post the best foreshadowing in the VN
In retrospect, Archer identity is kinda obvious.
The eyebrows and the gem (if you paid attention to that) were massive flashing neon signs.
I missed every hint the first time I watched DEEN stay night.
Why did Ciel give Archer his red coat?
She spilled curry all over it.
She would've licked it clean then.
There was a scene where Shirou revealed his wish to Rin, and Rin laughed at him because Archer had the same wish
It's world peace
Can't find a screenshot in my folder but the part where Saber looks disappointed in Shirou for even suggesting he come up with a "supermove" was funny considering that's how he beat her in HF.
tfw when the e-boi arc is the most interesting and engaging piece in the series.
Could Archer beat serious Gil?
Unlike Shirou, Gilgamesh would take Archer more seriously.
Serious Gilgamesh is just "ea gg lmao" which wins against almost anyone because it's an overpowered universe shredding dildo.
Without Ea, Archer could beat Gil. Maybe. Depends on how the armor is utilized.
I liked this dude, he was cool. I don't know what that makes me.
power and harem fantasy wish fulfillment
The brief slips into madness are really nice.
The peak of Fate is....
Because of these three.
>One is a massive whore
>Corrupts the other two to the point that they become whores by sexual assaulting them
She needs to sexually assault the other girls to live so it's fine!
extra crispy Kuro
The amount of seed I drained to these girls is actually unbelievable. Quite literally killed billions.
Bless those three
is there an easy way to read it?
There are the web version of Fate and Tsukihime .
https://fatestaynight.vnovel.org/
It's a book in software form, how easier do you need it to be?
i just mean finding it and downloading it
Download the ultimate version on nyaa.si then.
You don't have to patch shit with that version.
Torrents most likely.
https://fatestaynight.vnovel.org/
I'd play the actual game, but whatever.
Download a torrent. I used nyaa.si
The web version is highly inferior in terms of presentation; it's meant to be used for easily referencing specific scenes, not to actually read.
Torrent it, it's a quick download then you just open it and start reading.
>gay sex in hats tab
I do hope you're merely pretending.
Isn't Rin just Asuka as a brunette?
Rin isn't nearly as fucked in the head and is much nicer.
Just fucked in the ass.
it's saber any good in meltyblood?
The VNs are great, and despite it being hated on here by OGfags I actually liked all the spinoff games and anime.
I'm an original/VNfag and I think the UBW adaptation is incredibly well done. Don't like many spin-offs though. Fate/Zero was really good too.
>I'm an original/VNfag and I think the UBW adaptation is incredibly well done
Does the UBW manga live up to the hype?
>I like to post pic related as an example.
Post more examples.
Talk about how the HF movies completely ruined all of Kotomines scenes.
>Talk about how the HF movies completely ruined all of Kotomines scenes.
They removed most of them mainly. Same with Ilya's scenes. Kotomine vs Shirou in particular was such a limp fucking scene without any tension, it's over as quickly as it starts.
They also completely fuck it up and change it majorly from the vn.
Remember in the VN when Saber gets huffy about Shirou copying Archer's fighting style? Ufotable adapted it like this.
>kills archer with a broken ideal
Fate/Deep Night
>Funny enough though never watched any of the anime adaptions of the routes since it seemed pointless to just watch a worst version of something I already experienced.
Deen version has some scenes that I recommend watching like Shirou meeting Saber for the first time or Archer vs Berserker.
People like to shit on deen and they are not wrong but the original anime is the closest to the vn in terms of atmosphere.
DEEN adapted FSN as a standalone.
Ufotable adapted FSN as a sequel to Zero.
Man, I wish the Fate route fusion with the other routes were done better.
Somehow, The Tsukihime manga managed to pull it off quite well.
watching LP of the new fate game that came out to see if i wanna buy it
>starts off with generic poor boy gets magic and brings in super woman
>find out saber is a cunt and only cares about fighting and food
>find out the MC teacher comes back as a servant but is now a super hot woman with huge tits
>then meet some slow talking retarded monstrosity with eyes so far apart that i am shocked it was allowed appears
>then you're after some guy who is drawn as a girl (could be plot twist that he's a she)
after all that i just said nah, stopped the LP and decided not to buy
maybe i picked the wrong place to start but shit is dumb, generic and boring.
Absolutely you picked the wrong place to start. The correct place is the original visual novel.
>i picked the wrong place to start
>Also pretty disappointed with all the other characters too. Barely touched on, shallow everything
That's every Fate work that wasn't written by Nasu.
>That's every Fate work that wasn't written by Nasu.
Fae Britain was a joy to read. Even side characters get a wealth of characterization. I fucking hated Aurora and still felt a bit choked up with her death in the end. I hope Nasu gets to make something original and on that level again soon, but without the baggage attached by the gacha.
bump
Extra has best ost, did the musician in it work on other games?
It isn't.
Why is FGO popular? dicky.
Tohsaka Rin has sex with old men for money
>buy the fsn+ha box set from mandrake since its my favorite vn unironically

Can someone point me to a place where I can download (or buy a download) this song. Not the Carnival Phantasm version, this is the Grand Carnival version.
Use yt-dl.
I want this:

UNANSWERABLE QUESTION
Why is it called "Fate/Stay Night"?
Because you will be so bored reading your FATE will be to STAY asleep all (/) NIGHT
Because it's not.
It's Fate Stay/Night.
Because it's Japan and they like to do sully things when they use English, it's not supposed to be read "Fate Stay Night", it's "Fate Stay OVER Night".
Now what the fuck THAT means, I'm not entirely clear on.
>Fate Stay OVER Night
>Saber sleeps the night
Daaaaam
Most of the story takes place at night, the HGW is over with the dawn where the Servant disappears with the rising of the sun.
Saber route
Archer/Rin route (Tohsaka route)
>Fate/other night
Illya route (Einzbern route)
Sakura route (Matou route)

>Caster route
Yes
>where Caster gets turned into a e-boi
No
I would have killed for the Illya route to become a reality.
The winner of Shiroubowl.
HA is kino. More people need to play this.
How can it be kino when it has no sex scene for Ilya
There is in my imagination.
It sounds cool.
I think words "stay night" were once in some tsukihime-related stuff, Nasu just likes this chuuni phrase probably.
>I think words "stay night" were once in some tsukihime-related stuff, Nasu just likes this chuuni phrase probably.
>Witch on the Holy Night
>The Garden of Sinners
>Tsukihime: Blue Blue Glass Moon, Under the Crimson Air
>Tsukihime PLUS+DISK: Alliance of Illusionary Eyes
>Tsukihime Kagetsu Tohya: Twilight Glass Moon, Fairy Tale Princess
>MELTY BLOOD: Hologram Summer, Night on the Blood Liar
>MELTY BLOOD Re-ACT - Through the Looking-Glass, Fairy Tale Transparently
>MELTY BLOOD Actress Again Current Code - Hologram Summer Again, Tri-Hermes Black Land
>Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works].
What power do you hold in your hands...? Dancing flames, decaying Earth, withered ocean
What is the verdict on Nasu's Engrish?
Because when morning comes fate disappears.
There is no one /here/ that can stomach this scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDMXVvHSnJ0
Even if you thought Fate was underwhelming, as soon as this scene hits, you "get" the series.
This right here. This scene is why I remain a Saberfag to this day. Even though the other routes have cool dialogues about morals, ideals, the meaning of being a hero, and saving the people you truly love, none of that hits as hard as the gut punch that is the ending to the Fate route.
For me, it is this
The true heroine of FSN.
Fate chads?? Care to explain??
Least autistic Saberfag.
>Grand order out with me
Fate/Stay Takeaway. The True American adaptation.
>Fate chads?? Care to explain??
FSN is the main work. Everything else is a spinoff.
>UBW anime
>Saber just eats shit and makes moe faces
Saber is adorable.
But yeah mainly in UBW she is just there to signify the mirror image between Archer and herself.
The official Fate Stay Night drinking game.
>Take a shot any time Shirou has a mental breakdown over Saber fighting as a knight despite being a woman
>Take half a shot any time he verbally or nonverbally drops spaghetti over seeing a woman that's hot
>Take a shot any time Shirou ignores advice and goes out for a walk alone outside, bonus shot if it's at night
>Take a shot any time Shirou makes a breakfast/dinner/lunch consisting of at least three meals, for more than two people, in like, half an hour
>Take a shot any time Shirou gets up at 5 am and feels well rested
>Take a shot any time Sakura says "senpai" in a shitty voice or is half-whispering
Only for those with a strong head.
>>Take a shot any time Shirou gets up at 5 am and feels well rested
This man's a fucking robot.
I'm rereading with my gf and this is the most infuriating shit in the vn, everything else is as good as I remembered it.
It makes people feel smart because they're "learning about history" while watching or playing this shit
>Illya's actually 18 because cup
>Sakura is actually 18 (??)
>Saber is actually 32 in the body of a 14 year old
So you see sabeer-fags...
is actually 32 in the body of a 14 year old
I wish I was in the body of a 14 year old if you get my drift hahaha
brb knock at my door.
Trannies
that’s umineko, if a visual novel could by considered trannycore
What's Fate's actual title then?
I'm going with "10 DAY LONG HOLY GRAIL WAR: feat Shirou"
"2 weeks worth of psychoanalysis and swords"
It covers all autism appeals
>power scaling autism
>history autism
>theology autism
>anime autism
it's in the middle of venn diagram of what's appealing to autists
I don't see anything about trains
Where is alarm clock autism?
Since when.
I've literally never seen or heard someone mention it and definitely not as a series with goty games
It's so chuuni, but it's so good.
I was going to teach you something about this website and Fate but maybe you can beg someone else to spoonfeed you.
Coomers' first shonenslop + uguuu~ am i kawaii~ waifu sim slop.

I fucked up man.
Babys first VN.
>Tsukihime: the story has the serious tone the series used to be known for (Akiha route)
>FSN: grand adventure that's almost whimsical, but with serious moments and stakes
>Zero: much darker overall and with some definite edge to it
>FHA: back to fun and lighthearted with a little smidge of darkness at the very end
>Apocrypha: back to full on dark and edgy
>EXTRA: slightly more FSN-esque in overall tone, but definitely on the darker side
>CCC: FSN-style tone, fun whimsical adventure with some serious moments and heartfelt character interactions
>>FSN: grand adventure that's almost whimsical
You haven't even fucking read it
It's pretty similar to Tsukihime
seiba
Fate 20th anniversary soon.
What did they do for the 10th anniversary?
I bet it's going to be nothing but Grand Order stuff.
Didn't they release a short of LE or was it the manga version during the 15th anniversary?
>Thamk you for suportging fate for 20 year
I wish they keep this outfit if they ever animate the Last Episode.
There are too many redman design already.
F/GO really ruined TM. It truly is their very own GTA Online.
You play it for Saber & Rin but stay for Illya.
Porn
Everyone saying Grand Order's Avalon le Fae is on par with Fate. This true?
If you are interested in MC autism, then no.
no
it is not even close to being true
don't listen to gachanaggers
they have 0 standards
HOLY
FUCKING
KINOOOOOOO
i want to nut deep inside jack and nitocris (with leglock), astoria pendragon is made for horse cocks
that's all i know about fate
Tsukihime newfag here, going into Akiha's route.
If this route doesn't pop off, forget about it. The Near-side routes were 7/10 junk with terrible exposition dumps.
Tsukihime isn't good, it's incredibly overrated because it was made by the author of FSN
The far side route had a more darker tone if you are interested in that.
There is also the manga adaptation to Arc route that is arguably better than the VN.
A vanilla rape is fairly dark already.
Not as dark as the hole left on Kohaku by Makihisa.
>why Fate used to be popular
cool concept
badass battles
clean, iconic character designs
>why Fate is popular now
weebcringe and fanservice
You forgot to mention that the original Fate VN is also a good story
Stop.
That's enough so--- stop already.
>that one time when she hit Shirou so hard that he dream about a dead end because he refused to let her eat lunch
kek
Is Fate still as good without Shirou?
How did he know?
Why are Gil and Archer so enduringly popular?
Because they are both jobbers.
