The amount of War assets you get depends on what you did with the Geth Heretics. If you rewrite them you get more assets with the Geth but less with the Quarians and if you destroy the Heretics you get more Quarian assets and less Geth. Also destroying them greatly helps achieving peace between the Geth and Quarians

Femshep is a great example of the strong and independent woman without any feminists moronness. She has good personality by default, she doesn't do any stupid thing. Plus you can tune her character by in game choices. She is a perfect heroine.
Her look also interesting: she's not ugly but not a supermodel. Her face has some minor flaws. That makes her look more natural and realistic.

I remember back when the games originally came out seeing the odd post clambering about how female Shepard was so much better because the voice actor but that never made any sense because her voice actor is horribly unconvincing in the role compared to real Shepard. Also it's just the same voice she almost always does where as the real Shepard is totally unique and iconic.
