The people I see who whale mobile games are the type of people who don't play any actual games and just like seeing their favorite characters and pretty animations
I really don't understand why the response to "I don't like gacha/mobile games" is just "You're poor". Like that doesn't change a lot of the situation if I was rich

As unfortunate as it is, people in general actually like pay2win mechanics and find them rewarding. Gaming as a hobby is going to be killed by whales because one paywhale is more valuable customer than 1000 regular consumers and it would be financially idiotic to not target games to them.
In the future making actually good games that don't rely on perpetual monetization is going to be considered a passion project where developers willingly turn down profits they could be making.
You defensive goalpost moving moron. Anon didn't say anything about gatcha. It's hilarious how Black personhomosexualTrannies are now comparing their shit to gatcha to make it look good in comparison.
>you are buying the image
But that's wrong. You are only buying an address in the blockchain.
It'd be like spending a million dollars for a parking space that has a lambo in it but not actually purchasing the car itself.
Except even this is a poor analogy since land has value, nobody gives a shit you have a bit of unique code in some homosexual blockchain.
Why would an NFT that doesn't even contain a jpg have any value?
>you do not even have the image
the image is just a representation of the code on the blockchain like a stock(you do not buy the entire actual company when you buy stocks don't you0, and at least buying NFTs actually give you something worth the money
well Half of the internet begged to differ
sold my uncle's car to buy an ape a while ago, waited a bit for it to raise in price and sold it when the price raise is slowered

No, I'm not saying you don't have the image, I'm saying the NFT doesn't even have the image. The image is not represented on the blockchain; the image is not on the blockchain at all. So what intrinsic value does the NFT token have?
>the code represent the image
But it doesn't. The image itself is code, like all digital files, and that code is not on the blockchain.

It's more like me writing down the address to the Louvre museum (Rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris, France) on a piece of paper and then saying that this "code" (text) somehow represents the Mona Lisa. But it doesn't, and why would it?

>except it is actually a contract saying i legally own the museum
Not quite. It's only a "contract" in the sense that the museum says that whoever owns the intrinsically worthless piece of paper also owns the copyright to the Mona Lisa. But they could just sell you the copyright without the piece of paper, or they could sell you the painting itself. That's how Bored Apes work as well but with NFTs instead of paper; but most NFTs don't give you the copyright because that's not actually inherent to the technology itself. They could also sell you a pet rock and say that the rock gives you the copyright to a particular jpg. What's the point though?

Why would viral marketing specifically be aimed at leftists and why would something popular make it art? That's not what happened with the Bored Apes.
Everyone here is completely fricking wrong
Litterally no one wants to play games on their phone, touch screen controls suck ass and carrying a controller to plug in is stupid. At that point bring an actual handheld.
People want to play very simple games on the phone to kill time (on the bus, taking a shit) >heuh heuh casuals
Even if you figure out a way to put in some 10/10 deep RPG that has 1000 of hours of gameplay, having to play it on a dinky phone is the worst place to even play
Either on a big TV or Pc
>make simple game >sell it >get simple profits
its that easy but nowadays chinks are constantly making big ass f2p rpgs with toxic gacha systems that wrecks the market while the game is in a awkward state of almost being a full game but still stuck being a simple ass one filled with p2w mechanics
I'll never understand why people spend money on these repeatable microtransactions. I can understand buying a DLC or maybe a skin. But buying something that's clearly meant to trick you into buying multiple times is the most braindead thing ever.
>I like to be scammed by people that know how to manipulate me
Are gamblinggays really like this?
Huge amount of all people genuinely like spending money on bullshit. The mere act of having money to spend makes them feel important and accomplished. I don't think it can be fixed from the human nature, that's the same reason why generational wealth usually leaves the family after ~3 generations, fiscally intelligent people are ultimately quite rare.
I can name you every single microtransaction I've ever bought.
>$15 of in-game currency for Battle Forge around 13 years ago, bought from a brick and mortar store >Squiggly in Skullgirls >A Juri skin in USF4 >A few of the early sets of cars in Rocket League
And that's it. Probably about $40 of shit and I'm 32 now.
>one is a poorly made jpeg of an ape with procedurally generated parts that people arbitrarily price at thousands of dollars in hopes they won't be the ones left holding the bag >The other is a video game
I don't even play genshin but it definitely has more gameplay than your bored ape jpeg, NFTpajeet.
well, ever heard of viral marketing ?Nfts are just a game of trolling with some juicy cash prize. It ironically has more gameplay than your randomly generated 3d model games, Gachink.
I genuinely think there would not have been such an overwhelmingly negative public reaction to NFTs if Bored Ape was not the face of it.
They are so egregiously ugly that to most people it had absolutely nothing to do with NFTs or their concept but just amounted to >holy frick that is one ugly drawing and you paid HOW MUCH for it? jesus, NFTs are moronic
Just learn from the uber rich and have someone smear shit on a canvas, say it's worth an arbitrary amount of dinglecoin and then pass it around with your other "rich" cryptogay buddies like a giant banknote. The real world elites have been doing that shit for decades.
They "exist" in the same sense a TF2 hat exists. If crates weren't a thing and the only way to get hats (including unusuals) was ref then the analogy would be complete with crypto being fake money you spend time to generate and then spend on fake products.
I think NFTs also got bad reception because there was an attempt to push them into gaming very artificially and it was a clear cash grab scheme in most cases. Nobody is going to get hyped about a game because it's going to have NFTs or blockchain features. They should have made games that people would play without any of those and then thought of how to implement them and keep players around despite them.
The ugliness didn't help, but the negative reaction was people constantly trying to force on other people who had no interest. If you want people to get into a 'thing', you only keep only the people who want to be involved in it and slowly expand. But when you start screeching how this is THE FUTURE to every dick and jane that passes by and tell them they're idiots for not getting involved, you're going to annoy everybody. And the very nature of NFTs means they can't do the slow method so when I really think about it, it was kind of doomed to fail to begin with.
Companies trying to force NFTs in gaming was a perfect example of what I'm talking about because it was very clear it was an artificial push. Gamers are dumb and easy to be taken for a ride, but not to the extent that they'll just open their wallets for anything. If that was true, basically no live service would fail
>Gamers are dumb and easy to be taken for a ride, but not to the extent that they'll just open their wallets for anything

>Black person spent 2 years that could be used to get a diploma, learn some new skills, hone a hobby or just get a job to get genshin characters(they worth $30 total)
lmao no
I actually think about this often. It would be easy to just release one of those controller mounts or wraparounds and then create small games with relative scale to gba development next to the os2 back in the day or something. It seems like easy money, everyone already owns the main hardware, getting the attachment and a few games for Christmas for kids or whatever would be easy. Even with the p2w dominance I don’t see why it doesn’t work/why nobody tries, but I also haven’t looked into it besides thinking about it while taking a shit once a week or so, so what do I know.
Because it targets people who have no other means to play games, ie children and women.
Lmao at your fricking moronic ass theory.
Everyone owns a PC.
Everyone.
That’s why it’s the ultimate poorgay gaming platform.
