Mooncrash requires you to think about the space you're in, the things you need to do, in which order and the time it will require. There's actual planning involved with many different approaches and solutions as well as the improvisation required due to unpredictable elements, which all culminates when you escape with everyone in a single run with the plan *you* as the player, conceived.
Deathloop is just a structurally linear shooter with extra steps and the whole time loop is more a narrative element than a gameplay one. You just need to see all the mandatory story stuff before you unlock the final run, which only has one scripted solution.
Never played Redfall so idk about that one.
The base game is superior but Mooncrash was a unique twist. I wish it borrowed more from roguelikes.

There's no overlap between Deahtloop devs and Mooncrash devs, nor RedFall. Prey Mooncrash was developed by a small group at Arkane Austin, while Deathloop was developed at Arkane Lyon. Redfall was also developed by Arkane Austin, but like 70% of devs abandoned ship when they saw the writing on the wall. And I'm happy, fuck multiplayer shit, the only imsim multiplayer I'm going to try is System Shock's 2 cooperative when the remaster comes out. It feels like a half assed Dishonored DLC.
Dosnt help that they only bit of plot you get happen in the tutorial and the ending with nothing between those 2 sequences.
And since there is no plot the quips and shit quickly get on your nerves as they just waste time.
With no interesting combat, no narrative and no openness on what can you do it gets repettetive very fast.
Also fuck me the location variations being split by loading screens feels dated as fuck.
It really was a 6/10 game for me, it ran out of steam in first 5 hours and i had to push myself to finish it.

Deathloop is still a fun but flawed game, the focus on multiplayer likely fucked development up as arkane lyon clearly were not up to the task. There may still be hope for dingus bazooka's studio.
Redfall was basically an order from zenimax to make a service-type game, and it got double fucked by smith's inability to lead. The result is utterly soulless, designed by committee slop. Don't make the mistake I made anons, don't even try it I utterly regret the two hours I lost on this trash.
Dishonored 2 had a shit story but the gameplay,powers, art direction and level design were great. Smith is not inherently bad at leading so I wonder how else he dropped the ball with Redfall.

never could get into prey for some reason,and i usually love immersive sims. just got bored in the beginning and the mimic jumpscares got more annoying rather than scary as you continued playing.
