Switch has 100+ exclusives. Playstation has 11 on their pathetic wiki page. Absolutely sad. Xbox doesn't have a page. Every single xbox game is on pc for less money, plays better, goes online for free and doesn't require using the Xbox ui. Why would anyone buy one
I have all three major systems and do a lot of online. I can say, from my experience, Xbox is mostly kids and teenagers. I see a LOT more adults in PS and Switch online.
>Spencer designed the Xbox Series S to be sold to 3rd world countries
Have a look at the Xbox official supported regions page and prepare to be amazed.
Microsoft doesn't officially offer any Xbox support east of Poland. It took until halfway through the Xbox One generation that you could even turn on an imported Xbox One console in eastern europe, prior to that the initial mandatory firmware update would just fail if you weren't in a supported region.
This is why PlayStation still reigns supreme. Microsoft could not give less of a shit about the millions of potential customers outside of the core regions in the western world, meanwhile PlayStation consoles and games are available in all of Europe and almost everywhere in Asia.
They did it to themselves. >sold to 3rd world countries >Increase the price of the Series S in Brazil to the point it matches the PS5 >start blocking unlicensed third party peripherals that are cheaper than OEM controllers in the middle of the generation
Imagine fucking over both people who weren't on board yet and users who were loyal to the platform
>Why is Xbox still in third place?
They aren't, Sony is in third place. Microsoft is in fourth.
PC > Switch > PS5 > Xbox.
ACKSHUALLY...
Mobile > PC > Switch > Praystation > Xbox
On consoles? because they left it on the back burner and because they can't really do more for it
They focused more on their "ecosystem" where they no longer focus on consoles anymor. It's all about on PC, consoles, cloud and devices. Everything to connect it with gay pass
it seems no one has figured out their strategy, the fuckers are making a lot of money with their games and their service that way
Nintendo hit it big with the Switch and Sony is at the point where they don't have to do anything and it will sell to normies. It is funny how bias journalist are bias towards the Xbox. 2022 was a fucking void for Xbox games and journalist won't stop dog piling on Xbox for it. Cut to this year where they released a game every few months and while Sony released a single game, and yet people are quiet.
Why do you make up random shit and believe your opinion is objectively reality
>2021
not so relevant, that graph changes too much every year. It's not worth much if you see that the company is investing a lot in its projects, which is the case with Sony. And it depends on how good a year the company had... This year for example, Sony was very lazy in games and their results will probably be lower this year. If I remember correctly, in some years (2 or 3) from 2015-2019 Xbox had better results than Sony but that doesn't make them remove the third place label
and they don't specify what they base that information on, it's probably just about consoles.
>not so relevant, that graph changes too much every year.
Yeah xbox is higher this year thanks to Starfield
2021 was a good year in games for sony (god of war 2, Ratchet &clank, Deathloop, Kena, Returnal, guilty Gear and I don't remember more) but this year was great for xbox and nintendo
They usually announce games two years in advance as happened with Spiderman 2 but after it there are no AAA games in sight yet.. there was no playstation event this year to announce an upcoming game for next year
2024 will be the same shit, they really are in crisis
>Why do you make up random shit and believe your opinion is objectively reality
You mean like the graph you posted? Valve's a private company, you have no insight into their financials. Secondly revenue is not profit. Nor is Steam the same thing as PC, though funnily enough just Steam by itself is significantly bigger than Playstation.
>MUH PROFIT
profit doesn't matter since you are getting any, revenue shows what the average person is spending their money on and more people spend money on xbox than on Nintendo
In unit sales but most of the base only buys Nintendo first party games and nothing else
Playstation makes more money from third party sales and PSplus, thats why third party studios make games that are on playstation/xbox/pc but not on switch
Profit matters more than revenue which itself doesn't matter when talking about number of users.
>though funnily enough just Steam by itself is significantly bigger than Playstation.
Nice delusionals
Steam has over three times as many monthly active users as the PS5 has sold in total. PC gaming as a whole makes more money than all consoles combined.
>Steam has over three times as many monthly active users as the PS5 has sold in total
And 90% of them just play free games and dont spend a cent, meanwhile most ps5 users have PSplus

Fun fact, Sony market cap is 110.55 billion. Microsoft is 2.70 trillion, Microsoft has 143.94 billion cash on hand. Microsoft can laterally buy all the other gaming companies and still have cash to spare.
because he's a poser. his whole pr shtick is "le let's be friends and coexist with other platforms, it's good for the players ad the industry :)" and corpocultists fall for this shit evey single time

Step 1: RGH an xbox 360 and put aurora dash on it together with a shitload of games, you might even dabble with xlink kai to play original xbox games online.
Step 2: Get a stealth server lifetime for 15 bucks
Step 3: Enjoy the golden era of online gaming for free
Btw I own a Series X and gaming PC and barely touch them, current "gen" gaming sucks ass and it will probably only get worse.
Anyone who will try and convince me otherwise can suck my ass, I only play Speedrunners and Lethal League on my series X when friends come over.
Trust me, this is the year of Xbox. More than hype, bringing the games that won't get nominations for Game of the Year. Another consecutive year of taking the L. When you turn on your Xbox and view the mandatory Call of Duty ad, make sure to renew ze GamePass and own nothing.
AND YOU COULD HAVE IT ALL

because don mattrick and e3 2013 happened at the worst time and the only thing that can gain them console market share no matter how much goodwill they generate is sony dropping out of consoles
This. We're seeing this unfold with Bungie under Sony right now where Sony's been completely hands off and Bungie is fucking up left and right. It's such a goofy agreement considering that part of the reason why Sony can churn out ***decent*** and polished movie games is because SIE is involved in everything their core studios do
MS essentially surrendered when they lost the Xbox One generation and shifted toward selling games and services to other gamers everywhere else since it makes more money and has less costs involved. However, the strategy still makes them crazy profitable now that they own ABK, it's just consoles are way too expensive for them to fight to gain a bigger marketshare at this point and there's no point to it when console marketshare overall has stalled in growth too.
Adding to this, Microsoft is investing in getting AI to make their games now. The peak of soulless engineered by HR department gaming coming to Xbox Series GamePass soon.
AI developed games are perfect for what Microsoft is going for. Which is cheap throwaway trash to pad out the GP catalog and keep players subscribed. People might think that no one will play those but Microsoft owns so many big IPs now that they probably will. It's not limited to new games either, you can sustain a live service game indefinitely with AI and a skeleton crew, it's the next infinite money maker that the gaming industry is going to chase.
But think about it from this perspective, imagine it was Nintendo. Imagine that they let an AI make a Pokemon game, it'd probably be on par with whatever GameFreak puts out or somehow even better. Now imagine that if you pay for NSO you get monthly updates with brand new Pokemon added to the game, new locations, new trainers, etc. You would have die hard fans playing that for years, it'd be their forever game because the PvP meta would get shaken up with the new releases every month. Microsoft can do the same thing with some of the massive IPs they now own and that's in conjunction with releasing full games released by AI at the same time so that there's always something to do on GamePass. The games don't even have to be amazing or even great, they just have to be adequate time wasters for people to stay subscribed and go from one generic soulless game to the next. All of that without Microsoft needing to pay third party publishers a single cent.
MS has more first party games announced coming than Playstation has at this point. Trying to claim that MS isnt making games is extremely premature when we're just in time to see MS finally release nonstop AAA games after letting them work on them these past few years.
Completely fumbled last gen's launch, killed all the momentum and trust they had built up during the 360's lifespan. And the Series X has all the same problems as the PS5 (selling politics instead of games) whilst also having a confusing naming scheme
cause they hired that black woman

Spencer designed the Xbox Series S to be sold to 3rd world countries to rent games on their subscription service. Didn't exactly work out for them.

That number 1 just pisses me off. It's all due to gacha and coomerbrains.

Mobile isn't "gaming" it's pay to win gacha apps, nothing more, nothing less.
Sure, unless we're talking about core gaming.
Xbox One bad PR, normies got a PS4 because it wasn't a Xbone and it had COD/FIFA in "1080p"
Also Sony cinematic exclusives attract more normies

They're pretty unstopable right now.
because don mattrick and e3 2013 happened at the worst time and the only thing that can gain them console market share no matter how much goodwill they generate is sony dropping out of consoles
because phil spencer doesn't realize GOOD games (not just games in general) get people to buy your xbox
For some reason every studio they acquire immediately and completely stop making games, certainly anything good.
They need to go back to 360 management.
This. We're seeing this unfold with Bungie under Sony right now where Sony's been completely hands off and Bungie is fucking up left and right. MS getting Activision Blizzard really broke some brains
Those people were already broken. There's no fixing them.
because phil spends all of his time talking out his ass instead of trying to recoup the xbox brand
Cuz yo' mama's still riding my cock rn, fr.

Why would I buy an Xbox? Seriously, why? I mean at least Playstation has a few exclusives....
Microsoft thinks not making video games and spending money on lawyers is how you make video games. Also their investments long term are shit.
Adding to this, Microsoft is investing in getting AI to make their games now. The peak of soulless engineered by HR department gaming coming to Xbox Series GamePass soon.

I'm sure starfield will sell plenty of DLC

Don Mattrick and its consequences have been a disaster for the Xbox brand.
doubt they'll ever recover either, they need a new name
