    I really don't know
Between that and the block system essentially pointless and now it's playing like Sekiro I really can't see me getting this game

I'll admit Nioh 2's demo wasn't the best but it at least showed the skill treesfor the weapons and their moves so you could see what you'lll get
There was nothing like that here and unless you can customize it somehow like 8 skills total, I can't see this being a good game

Thats what I am most afraid of, the removal of weapon stances. How big were the actual movesets in the demo?
Do we find unique weapons with unique movesets in the world? This looks very caster-focused with all the buttons dedicated to spells.
Whereas Nioh 2 was extremely melee-focused. I loved that.

That honestly makes it even worse anon
NG is far, far more fucking complex than Nioh in terms of pure melee combat

          [...]
How is that game actually? I was looking at it and it seems like you can do a mage build quite easily. That's one of the few things I liked in Souls was the melee + magic combo

You're missing my point. You were all expecting it to be Nioh 3. Well it isn't, it's going a different route but is leaning more on Ninja Gaiden than Nioh.

                Definition of Successor
                : one that follows
especially : one who succeeds to a throne, title, estate, or office

wo long doesn't follow and be ninja gaiden 4, and now you're telling me it doesn't succeed and overtake ninja gaiden. If it doesn't succeed, what the fuck does successor even mean to you? Are you a retard that just thinks it's a positive word that means nothing else besides thing = good?

a sequel would be ninja gaiden 4, and a successor would be, as the fucking dictionary definition, a game that overtakes it and "succeeds" it. which wo long is neither

                Anonymous

A successor is different from the previous right, that means not exactly like it. You were all treating this as a successor to Nioh, but now you know it's not I suggested to treat it as a successor to Ninja Gaiden because it leans more towards that as it's more standard action focused. It is clear Team Ninja wants to create new games and it appears that Wo Long is aiming at the Ninja Gaiden audience. What's so fucking hard to understand able that.

If you can get past the BUDGET and small enemy pool it has some great boss battles and combat, and you can go just as melee focused as you can be a caster or mixed.
Wo Long's R1/R2 scheme is actually very similar to the gifts, but Code Vein uses also a combo system, veil attacks, and charged, heavy and (some weapons) heavy special attacks

Nioh has like 20 enemies max and it was fine
How's the parrying? Is it everything or just some enemies? If it's every enemy but only some attacs that's still fine

Did I say it's like Ninja Gaiden. I said treat it more as a successor to Ninja Gaiden, that doesn't translate as a Ninja Gaiden sequel.

I didn't think it was gonna be Nioh
            Nioh is Nioh
But NG had way way more in depth combat and movement
In what way is it like NG? NG literally had rooms of 5-10 enemies and no stamina/ki/whatever meter
This is more like Sekiro, right down to encouraging you to take enemies out in stealth

              Anonymous

Every/almost every enemy/boss can be parried unless they use the super special attacks (except stuff like the slime).
It triggers a riposte that depends on your armor type
If the boss is immune to riposte, you still get rewarded with the Code Vein's mana system and by stunning it

I wasn't really treating it as a successor of Nioh, I was just treating it as a Team Ninja game so I come to expect some good fucking melee combat.

FUCK GUYS FUCK. I stopped playing Elden Ring after the first month because the pvp balance sucked. Since then I've played FF Crystal Chronicles, A lot of Monster Hunter and finally I played like 10 hours of Wu Long.
I got the itch to PVP in Elden Ring again since I know they've made some changes but, fuck man.
I can't fucking play. My muscle memory is fucked from all these other action RPGs. I keep trying to sprint and end up crouching. I keep chugging instead of swinging. It's all gone to shit. I might as well start a new character and run through the PVE to rebuild my muscle memory.
