Why the frick do I feel like im about to finish the game and im still using the same sword I got in the tutorial? Where are all the weapons?!
Also why does this game has no wiki?

>Where are all the weapons?!
you are turning in your boss souls to the silly box guy to get items, right?
wait are you playing BS1 or BS2
He's playing Demon Souls Remastered
BS1, just got the moonlight greatsword, pls tell me its the best sword in the game
It's my favorite sword in the game and certainly one of the strongest.
how many weapons can I upgrade to the max? Im hesitating because who know what I find later on
All of them. There's probably some enemy that drops slabs because on my last save I have all my weapons upgraded, with 6 slabs left. Either that or you can exchange candies that drop from zombies to the bird behind Red's house. But don't worry about that, there are no bad weapons and the game is too easy anyway. Weapon upgrades are more important in the sequel but it's also eiser to get them.
>Why the frick do I feel like im about to finish the game and im still using the same sword I got in the tutorial?
Oh okay, wrong title image in that case but anyway so isn't that sword only gained when you kill the dragon first try anyway? I mean it's really fricking easy to but still not a certainty.
>isn't that sword only gained when you kill the dragon first try anyway?
yes
No, if you miss it first time around you still get it when you kill him for good in the bog.
>I mean it's really fricking easy to but still not a certainty.
I think it ultimately comes down to do you just assume it's a scripted loss or actually try. Have to say it really is a bizzare game design choice because this little borderline easter egg weapon is SO disproportionately powerful compared to pretty much everything else that this early game decision you make on a whim has massive ramifications to the rest of your playthrough, because if you get it, you're almost guaranteed going build your playstyle around it since it's just so much better than anything else you'll get for a really really long time, and absolutely is good enough to carry you thru endgame, and kind of discourages experimentation with other stuff since by the time you can get anything that may be competitive you're already very familiar with using it, and it just works
eh, I got it and still went mage
It's probably the best SWORD in the game but if you aren't running a catalyst you're doing it wrong anyway.
I disagree. BS1 did a bunch of things better than BS2, most notably questlines (BS2 really only has the one that you need to get ending F/G) and a lot of the endgame of BS1 is extremely good already.
BS2 is definitely a step up in terms of scale/scope and world but BS1 is already 'KINO'.
>(BS2 really only has the one that you need to get ending F/G)
>he didn't get the chicken quest
>he forgot about the vernai quest
>he completely ignored the bunny suit gifting event to npcs
NGMI
You can't cheese your shit here this time
either learn2weapon switch or die trying
>You can't cheese your shit here this time
Literally all of DLC3 is about cheesing shit you dodo.
>he has to cheese his fights
It just means you need to unga and to bunga harder
>HURR I GRINDED UP MAX STATS AND THEN STACKED EXTRA ACTIONS AND SPAMMED HMG.
That's still cheesing the fight dodo.
>HURR I GRINDED UP MAX STATS AND THEN STACKED EXTRA ACTIONS AND SPAMMED HMG.
You can cap out Attack with just 10k base Attack and proper gearing and buffing. God's Angels stacks make it even easier.
You're wrong and both of us know it.
What are the consequences for failing those 'quests'? Oh what's that, you don't get to use a summon for a single boss fight but otherwise literally nothing changes? Wow, how involved.
The quests in BS1 were not only more involved but also made a much more noticeable impact on the world around you. You're actually delusional and have drank too much "BS1 sucks BS2 is the good one" kool-aid if you are unwilling to accept that one of the things BS1 does better than its sequel is the quests/storylines.
I don't think I've ever figured out what that chickens deal was, other than wanting to be food.
The bow in BS1 is super legitimate.
kek i too remember using the drake sword for most of the game
ive been on and off playing black souls 1. defeated hansel and gretel and the musicians of bremen. i am honestly not enjoying this at all. besides the fact that the game offers me to rape or kill who i want, nothing so far stands out above bogstandard RPGmaker shit; and i dont really feel an incentive to kill or rape someone i just met. the "healing" scene also made me cringe - although i dont have a problem with porn games, this was goofy as frick. does it get better or should i skip straight to 2? or dip altogether? i really like the original art but barely saw anything but a few portraits.
you shouldn't play BS for the porn, it's really more for the RPG stuff, when you get to higher levels/dlc bosses the itemization and tactics needed becomes a bit more interesting
that being said BS2 has even better gameplay with lots of interesting weapon swapping and chaining skills to do some OP bullshit to counter equally OP bullshit enemies in the lategame and dlc-ish areas, I will also say that BS2's main quest is to DS3's sidequests what DS3's sidequests are to regular games and that shit is like adventure game moon-logic levels of if you don't use a guide off the bat prepare to miss a shitload of content and have a lot of npcs just like randomly die without warning
well, now i am REALLY not sure if i should keep playing
as someone who is also currently trying out this game out of interest, the combat is definitely pretty trivial and I feel the same way about a lot of the same things as you do, but I'm a handful of bosses ahead of you (maybe 2-3) and seeing the really weird shit that just pops up is what personally keeps me from playing. I think if it's not your cup of tea you should move on or do whatever you want since I can tell this is definitely not the kind of game for everyone
can i really just use this shit for most of the game lmao, i've found the candy shop but I don't know if anything there (aside from the strong looking rings) is worth dropping the drake sword over
thanks, ill push a bit more and see then. i havent had anything in the game really stop me in my tracks so far, only the bremen musicians by how confusingly sudden the whole encounter was.
I don't remember specifically, but I booted up my old save (8+hrs, all DLC bosses beaten) and it's what I still have equipped, and very few other thing ever upgraded
BS2 however I do recall using lots and lots of weapons since you can swap weapons mid-battle and their special attacks can carry over to other weapons (e.g. using something to give yourself critrate, then switching to something that does massive damage etc...)
like here's my 12+hr BS2 dude's weapon inventory
not all dlc bosses done because you need to follow a fricking guide to do shit in some weird order or you can't access all the dlc
go fight the first boss with the vorpal sword equipped you nonce
no moonlight? you didnt beat all the bosse, didnt you?
probably not (and missed a bunch of girls too) because I didn't play with a guide, same with second game; I considered myself 'done' with the game after I beat the old town succ and black goat. In 2; after I beat the whatever big ocean dude and found out by reading a guide that I'd have to replay the game to get the carrol river dlc area I just fricked around in the endless dungeon a bit and then stopped playing.
it was fun and all, but I don't really want to start over and follow a guide line by line, nor am I particularly interested in NG+'ing and 1shotting 99% of things (while following a guide line by line) go get the last few bosses or areas etc...
where did you get the DLCs?
dlcs are already in the base game.
uhhhhhh i don't quite understand the question, they were pre-packed with the game wherever I downloaded this from, and don't ask me where, I don't remember I played these a fairly long time ago, hgg bin probably has them or the other usual sites
bros why does BS hate spellcasters?
also whatever happened to the black cloth? description says you'll turn to dust without it but it just disappears in the second game?
>bros why does BS hate spellcasters?
What? The easiest way to beat the game is to spam Soul Stream.
(me again)
I killed the boss at the end of sabbath forest and read the diary, but am I going insane or did something actually appear during the brief black flashes once you walk away
also holy fricking shit the drake sword when maxed out is fricking ridiculous
I wouldn't worry about it
thanks anons, i was a bit worried I would be jumpscared or set some horror event flag but it looks like it was just ominous shit.
>Also why does this game has no wiki?
There used to be one, but it got nuked. It's for the best really, exploration and finding things out by yourself is part of the fun
If you're playing this is a plotge (as you should) then the game really only picks up story-wise at the end of BS1. Which sounds bad, unless you treat the two games as one whole of a bigger RPG - it gets good 10 hours into a 50 hour RPG
I know it's bad game design, but it's just the way the story is structured. You have a frickton of little lore tidbits spread through the game, that don't really mean much on their own until you get to the ending, which makes them come together into one cohesive whole, completely recontextualises them and makes the previous parts better in retrospect
BS2 is also where the game itself gets much better. If BS1 is your typical JRPG adventure, BS2 turns into a nonlinear cryptic RPG with horror elements that goes even deeper down the lore rabbit hole. You also get much better, harder combat
I can think of no other game which fits pic related better. RRW (technically the first game in the series, which everyone tells you to skip for a reason) is a genuine 1/10 game with no redeeming qualities. BS1 is a mediocre 5/10 game with a great twist ending which gives context for the previous events. BS2 is a 7/10 game until you get to the base game ending, which opens up the lore can of worms that instantly elevates everything that happened up to that point. And DLC3 is where the combat reaches its peak
Case in point, even the artstyle gets better
GOD I'M GOING TO FRICKING ALICE
>no wiki because i worked hard to get my info and so should others
>frickton of little lore tidbits spread through the game
>oh and dont forget that some shit only makes sense if you read the actual fricking IRL books and read about the referenced RL characters on WIKI to understand it
>what you only like the game and setting and dont want to make a doctoral thesis? well you dont deserve it then. here have a little teaser now frick off
you lore homosexuals are insufferable. the worst kind of people that should never be in a position of influence.
idk sounds like a skill issue to me :^)
nah, frick you.
Nonlinearity, secrets and lorehomosexualry is half the draw of the series. It's like complaining that Paradise Lost is written in unrhymed verse, or that Faulkner's prose reads like a fever dream
absolute moronic comparison and a paragon of loregays thinking.
From what I heard of them, a better comparison would be Book of the New Sun and Soldier of the Mist, but I haven't read those yet so I don't know how true this comparison is
Absolutely Book of the New Sun. Severian is the Grimm of Ganker.
I might have to bump those books' priority up a little in my reading pile. Was planning to go Le Morte d'Arthur + The Once And Future King next, but BS in Ganker format seems too good to pass up
>no wiki because i worked hard to get my info and so should others
the game is genuinely far more fun if you don't spoil it for yourself
also you can just ask on the appropriate board for lore questions anyway, hint it's not fricking Ganker
nah, frick you. if you love the game make your meticulously gathered knowledge available to everyone whos interest in reading it up without jumping through your hoops.
the its more fun you know is just pretextual because you are either to insecure to make it happen or just love your position.
tell me im wrong.
nta but ur wrong
i don't know the lore, don't care about it either. you apparently care about the lore, don't want to play the game to find out about it, also don't want to ask questions about it, and just start complaining about 'loregays' and why there's no lore wiki
no clue what your endgame is other than coming across as a twat but I can tell you you're certainly succeeding on that front
gatekeeping knowledge hinders discussion and i dont think thats what loregays intentions were if they truely loved the game.
you have no idea what pure unfiltered autism is needed to truely understand the game. its easily on par with la mulana.
which is ok. its just that loregays get a stiffy of being loremasters and its almost like asking a king for an audience.
and thats all im saying. loregays love their position but hide it behind 'its more fun that way'.
usally right but does not apply here.
But BS threads are already filled with loregay autism and arguments. They can't even agree about The/A or Ship of Theseus
It's not exactly like BS, and a lot of the schizo feeling of the novels is due to the author's usage of archaic terms. BotNS is also "translated" for us, i.e. "horses" being used for things that are similar to horses, but aren't really.
different interpretations should not prevent a wiki.
that is a nice fricking graphic but VERY surface level. we got dudes who played trough this game over 100 times trying everything and i bet theres people who actually looked at the game files to get every single event and maybe even new reference.
you cant beat that.
i forgive you.
i dont know who vaati is but if he would make a 3 hour video essay on BS i would like that.
>gatekeeping knowledge
is a good thing because it keeps homosexuals who don't actually care about stuff out of your community
RIP most video games/media in general for not gatekeeping hard enough
>its easily on par with la mulana.
It's still a tier below. At least you can complete Black Souls without esoteric lore knowledge and physical notes, unlike La-Mulana. BS2 has two main "puzzles" which may hinder progress Birdening and ending G requirements, while La-Mulana is chock-full of those
Now, FULLY understanding the lore might be a similar undertaking in terms of effort, but if you're the type to care about that then combing through the game and discussing in the threads will be a joy, rather than a chore
Why don't you make your own wiki/resource then? Loregays have made plenty of collages, images, charts, maps, etc. to help explain the lore and universe, all of which are fairly easy to access by either asking or checking the archives. I'll probably make a video on the timeline of the franchise myself at some point.
Going anymore in depth starts to reach deep into speculation/debate so it wouldn't be really accurate enough to be placed in a wiki anyway.
Ahh, the unholy trinity
im not on that level. especially eventwise and with IRL references.
i woul appreciate that video. debateable events can be referenced.
im tired and will make a sleepy.
IRL references are the hardest part. Some of it is pretty clear, like the treatment Edith/Leopold, Prickett and Lorina receive but some of this stuff has me questioning my sanity and how much of it was actually planned, like pic related
If anyone was responsible for the Grand Guignol’s ascension from a local Parisian sensation to international success, it was the playwright and essayist André de Lorde, known in his lifetime as “the Prince of Terror.” The son of a physician, from an early age de Lorde developed a fascination for all things frightening and morbid. Outside his father’s office, the young de Lorde would listen to the sobs and screams of the patients, imagining in detail the horrifying torments they suffered. Once, to rid his son of his dread and preoccupation with death, the elderly Dr. de Lorde took André to the apartment of a recently deceased man where, as a doctor, he was required to verify his departure. The young de Lorde waited outside the bedroom, watching the women in mourning passing in and out of the room, as they placed funeral candles by the side of the dead man’s body. The future master of horror knew what he envisioned in his mind’s eye was even more terrifying than the sight of an actual corpse. The young de Lorde chose to remain outside. On another occasion, de Lorde’s father forced the boy to keep vigil over his dead grandmother’s body on the evening before the burial. The doctor wished to convince his son, once and for all, not to be afraid of death or pain. But just the opposite happened. De Lorde became obsessed with death—especially of the horrific and painful variety. All his life, de Lorde was haunted by it.
Honestly, when an anon first figured out Sherlock was Leopold and his connection to Edith it blew my mind. Especially how Toro somehow comboed Jack the ripper, Sherlock Holmes, and Leopold all into one character and make it fit.
Your pic is also great, Florence is one of my favorite characters and all the little things attributed to her design.
>Jack the ripper, Sherlock Holmes, and Leopold
But wait, there's more. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventure_of_the_Creeping_Man
>just when I thought I knew it all
Frick me is Toro a Ganker genius? How much does this man read just to get a story done? This is absolutely amazing
>He is engaged to the professor's daughter, Edith, and the Professor is himself engaged to a young lady, Alice Morphy, although he himself is already 61 years of age
I knew about this but didn't mention it. The esoteric knowledge Toro has on fairy tales/western stories is terrifying even as someone who has read through many of them.
>How does agility work against late game enemies? Specifically dark spirit invasions and enemies like leviathan which just seemed like no matter how much speed bonus I had, they acted as quick as always. I powered throught the first game and most of the second just outspeedng enemies, but it stoped working in some fights.
Speed caps out at like 3-4000. You get no more benefit after that amount.
>How do I access the DLCs?
DLC 1 is under the sea accessed via the Beach of Grief. DLC 2 is the Chaos Dungeon via the Library. DLC 3 is accessed after end G, cycle, meet Mabel, go near the Oxward elevator that goes to Carroll river where there should be two new mobs and a new path.
>How exactly do you know when to block, shot and dodge?
Breaks are typically done when the enemy has the corresponding "attack logo". Dodging and blocking are situation dependent
>What is the catch with the pocketwatches that let you take an extra turn? There has to be a catch.
No catch, just OP
>Will I miss too much if I played with H scenes turned off? I watched a few of them and some had bits character development, info or lore. Yes im a pussy, but I feel like they ruin the pace of the game.
Keep it on, there are scenes that have lore like you said. Some important scenes will outright be skipped because it was "porn".
>The esoteric knowledge Toro has on fairy tales/western stories is terrifying even as someone who has read through many of them.
Yeah, some of the shit he includes is really obscure. I've never heard of Carnacki, Grand Guignol and Throne of Bones before playing BS2
Speaking of reading, I really gotta try Gormenghast. Gankergays seem to really enjoy it. I don't think my reading pile is ever going to disappear, it just keeps growing and growing
Limbus Company has a Homework reading list. Does Black Souls have one set up?
I would add reading through the When They Cry series
Because of red truth?
Partially that, partially having to do with its approach to cycles (or fragments in WTC's case) and gardens (or gameboards in WTC's case)
For me it's probably more of a gut feeling that connects some of their elements. Our actors on a stage share similarities with the role of being pieces on a witch's gameboard.
You might be misunderstanding the point of the image. Its purpose is to track the references EMMM included in the games. The only exception is E.Y.E and Project Moon, which are included because of the BSgays=PMgays=EYEgays meme
I made pic related as a half-joke, half-tracking connections between fanbases and half-tracking similar themes, which might be closer to what you're looking for
He made references to Sequel, MGQ and Shrift?
Oh I was the guy who suggested MGQ and had the same misunderstanding, thinking there's no frickin way they directly referenced EYE in some Jap porn game it must be about relating themes or inspirations
>it must be about relating themes or inspirations
Pretty much. BS, PM and EYE all include confusing first playthroughs, cycles of guilt, villain/anti-hero MCs and dead wives. BS and PM are connected through fairy tales, PM and EYE are connected through israeli lore
I don't think there's a point in making one for BS, given that, unlike Limbus, most of the books were originally written in English
>BSgays=PMgays=EYEgays meme
meme? goddamn truth.
I always see people talking about Sequel in Black Souls threads, but does it really compared to BS levels of schizo, or are homosexuals just shilling their less popular game
It's not really as good, it's just notable for its creator being able to match the Black Souls creator in autism and ridiculous word count.
>or are homosexuals just shilling their less popular game
You can basically just chalk it up to this. I'll give Hakika credit for making games quickly with how many assets he has to create for each game, but the actual game quality is lacking throughout, both in terms of gameplay and plot. I'd go so far as to say that he can't write a good ending to save his life.
>it's just notable for its creator being able to match the Black Souls creator in autism and ridiculous word count.
I seriously don't think that's true on either part.
Anon I did an experiment where I started a fresh game, maxed everyone's stats with a save editor and tried to see how long it would take me to finish the game. The games are fricking long, and a big reason for it is that the characters. never. shut. up.
SEQUEL suffers from the Golden Sun problem where it forces you to sit through meaningless text, in terms of sheer autism and word count BS2 has it beat hands down I'd say, even if it forces the player to sit through a lot less of it there's still far more to find.
I remember the time when Black Souls was the less popular game.
>I remember the time when Black Souls was the less popular game.
Really? Because I remember Sequelgays riding the coattails of BS2's threads.
I totally agree with that
Also for the anons playing BS1 remember to press Shift to run
>Also for the anons playing BS1 remember to press Shift to run
What was your first death in BS2?
Mine was figuring out gravity works.
The Kidnapper. I was so confused when I ended up on a completely different area.
You poor bastard.
Because you weren't on /hgg2d/ in the early days before Black Souls could even sustain its own thread.
xd
>Because you weren't on /hgg2d/ in the early days before Black Souls could even sustain its own thread
I mean, I was but it's not like I have any real proof of it. I had the Ganker threads for both of them in mind speficially when I wrote that.
>I mean, I was but it's not like I have any real proof of it
Post the oldest Fumika you have.
Bro I lost my entire fricking hentai folder a few weeks ago, let alone all the XD edits, canelas, blobs and the rest. When I say I have no proof I really mean it.
My condolences
That's rough
I never got you lot's fascination with kusoge like Sequel/Fumika/Three Charms/Demons Roots. If I'd played Sequel/Fumika first and heard that BS was associated in any way with them, I'd avoid it like the plague
The only good place to discuss H-games was on 4+4
It still is. Sequel Blight has more sales than BS1/BS2. BS is simply overrepresented on Ganker compared to the rest of the internet, where it's still obscure
Though I suppose it might also be caused by BS players being less likely to buy stuff on DLsite. I can imagine that for many BS players, this is their first H-game and they're less likely to make a DLSite account just to buy one obscure game series. EMMM should really consider putting his (newer) stuff on Steam, if Kagura can do it so can he
I recommend getting into VNs. Saya no Uta is a good starting point
Not gonna lie, I had seen literally nothing of this series, even on this site, until queen of Ganker this year
Glad I did though I'm playing through the games now and having a blast
Just you wait until you get to the endings. EMMM is one of the few authors who managed to write a satisfying ending not once, not twice, but thrice. Surely you've experienced it yourself, just how rare that is. How many games/books/films did you experience where an otherwise good story is bogged down by an unsatisfying ending?
SEQUEL is nothing like black souls. The only similarities is that they're both rpgmaker porn games and they have a lot of lore. SEQUEL's deep lore is entirely self referential bullshit because hakika made like fifty games. SEQUEL loregays cream themselves every time he mentions an old character in an item description, reuses a map layout or borrows a few notes from the music he made ten years ago. Hakika even tried to make something closer to black souls with Asylum, but most people hated it.
There's an unspoken alliance between SEQUELgays and BSgays from the /hgg2d/ days and because Hakika and EMMM did an art trade once.
L.Depth was pretty kino though.
Maybe MGQ and Paradox too
>Maybe MGQ and Paradox too
Why? I mean, they're decent enough in their own right, but I can't think of any notable connections between it and BS.
The MGQ Encyclopedia is on there already under supplements.
MGQ and the Encyclopedia are completely separate IPs by different people
I'm guessing MGE is on the list because of Cheshire's design or something?
Oh. Nevermind then. But yeah, I think it is on there for Chesire and Jubjub.
What's the preferred translations I mean? Something like this:
https://rentry.org/ligmabooks
Most of those books are English
Du Lorde only has like 3 of 100 plays translated into English and they only have the one.
Nobody can agree on a Bible translation but King James is usually what people settle on.
As for Grimm, Andersen, Thousand and One Nights, Pinocchio, Little Prince and Aesop, I don't know.
I have gone through completely or partially all of these except like 12.
I don't own a Switch but I guess I can emulate. Is it worth bothering to emulate Splatoon 1, 2 or 3?
>Excuse me miss uh... Red, was it?
>This dog of yours, what breed is he?
>Oh no don't mind me askin', he just reminded me of my wife. Absolutely looooooves dogs, that one, got a whole kennel in fact.
>Now, you see, whenever mating season came around, my wife and I would put the dogs in a separate pen so they could... you know, do their thing. The worst part was the cleanup afterwards, the stink was unbearable.
>Why am I bringing this up? You see, Ms. Red, here was only one thing in common between every single crime scene I investigated. You know, other than the dead body.
>The stench. Every single one of them smelled like dog semen, just like our breeding pen. Now, I know you might think I'm pulling your leg saying something this absurd, but I assure you I'm dead serious. It's the kinda stink you just can't forget, took us days to wash it off the floor a-
>Oh, I'm so sorry miss, I can see I'm making you uncomfortable. I mean, talking about something this uncouth with a little lady like yourself, I really should be makin' myself scarce after that.
>Just uuuuuh, one more thing.
>Miss Red.... (sniffs)
>When was the last time you took a bath?
I still can't fricking believe they're putting Columbo in DRH and every time I see this image I chuckle like an idiot.
Me too anon. Me too. Love it.
kino
>splatoon
Kek
>monster hunter
No, that causes delays
>you have no idea what pure unfiltered autism is needed to truely understand the game. its easily on par with la mulana.
La-Mulana is still more difficult. Black Souls just requires that you actually fricking engage with it, which is still more than 95% of games though. It's why guideBlack folk still end up confused and irritated when they try to follow a magical path laid out for them and wind up completely misunderstanding shit or flat out not understanding anything at all.
>gatekeeping is... LE BAD
Imagine saying ths shit here, of all places.
>make your meticulously gathered knowledge available to everyone
no. the lack of wiki is the casul filter, every good community needs its gatekeeping methods
Black person I love the lore but I don't have the knowledge of wiki construction or coherent enough thoughts to piece together that shit for someone else
you might just be lazy
so frick off? dunno what's with frickers like you and whining that you don't get to be included in everything. just sounds like you don't really like the game if you want to get over it so badly with a guide.
lorehomosexualry is SOVL, wikis killed fun
f95 has years of solid lore discussions for you to comb through if you REALLY want to spoil yourself, anon. they also have (relatively) spoiler free walk throughs if you are a weakling like me and wanted to avoid all the death triggers for your first run
>anon
anons
Like
said, the game improves more towards the end when the story comes to a head.
However, if you dont like the game to the point of using a guide or skipping to the second game, just drop it. The second game is even more hostile to the player and around 4x the length. There's also no point in playing it without playing the first game, you'd miss too much.
>no wiki because i worked hard to get my info and so should others
There was a wiki at one point it just got nuked by the host.
Nobody is holding back lore "because they earned it". Besides, no one is stopping you from reading spoilers in threads.
Half the fun of the game is exploring and figuring out shit. You genuinely rob yourself of a good experience by spoiling yourself and good BSgays know that. If you couldn't find joy in exploring the world and pieceing together the story, especially in 2, I have no fricking clue how you even finished the games.
BS1 for all intents and purposes is the "tutorial" of the series or prologue.
The game gets super deep in lore and evolves in gameplay through the story and DLCs.
DLC3 in BS2 is a masterpiece but you won't enjoy it to the fullest without context.
In other words, it gets good after 400 hours.
I dropped it where you are. I'm tired of games where the rabid fanbase insists it gets good 500 hours in, how about just making a good fricking game.
They did make a good fricking game, issue is it's the second fricking game, and the second fricking game is a direct sequel to the first fricking game.
>guidefricker
The only thing you deserve is death
I fapped to the blackwell scene
everyone agrees BS2 is where Black Souls goes from "pretty alright" to "KINO"
anyone that says otherwise is shitposting and doesnt actually believe what they're saying
BS2 was too open-world. BS1 was perfect. I will kill you over your opinion.
I like both worlds but I absolutely disagree with the idea of BS2's world being too open-world, if anything that just makes it all the more fun, ive done several upon several runs where I ended up optimizing my routes and getting the best items for SL1, what a fun time.
Just wish it didnt go so ham on the levelling and boosts
You might like Underrail and Romancing SaGa 2. Both games are very open and let you tackle challenges in practically any order
"CRAWLERS could be here" he thought "I've never been in these caves before. There could be CRAWLERS anywhere." The hefty weight of his steel sledgehammer felt good in his bare hands. The information on the chart might be wrong but Leaf does have a twin. If you check the description of Black Goat on BS2's Shatranj it mentions two Shub kids.
Do I have to pirate it?
Can't find any way to buy it.

Thank you.
Link to Red's game expired in this one. Here's the most recent bin:

I honestly never got the appeal of the lore angle for these games, I was 100% into them for the gameplay, I have a good enough idea about the lore from superficial observation of "it's spooky grimdark twisted fairy tale stuff" to not really be all that concerned about all the finer details.
I mean it's like wh40k or dark souls, it's a general setting, who cares what the name of the techpriest who made this random space marine's chainsword +3 is and the battle he lost his cousin in that he named it after, or what pontiff sullivan had for lunch on the day they overthrew the gods, it's a mechanics focused game
also leaf is best girl
>I was 100% into them for the gameplay
>Black Souls
wtf
Lowest SEN leafgay
Shit take, the lore and context is what elevates the game to absolute Kino levels but getting said context is a complete chore.
Also some Anons are right, the fact that you as a player need to read the actual books to get the full picture is very lazy design but it actually makes sense ingame and in lore.
>the fact that you as a player need to read the actual books to get the full picture is very lazy design but it actually makes sense ingame and in lore.
I, for one, enjoy it. There isn't even that much reading to be done, you get 90% of the information just by going through Norton Critical Edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, since it also includes Through the Looking-Glass, Hunting of the Snark and Dodgson's biography. Hope the trend continues with the next games. I'm especially hoping for Miltonic influences, seems like the perfect fit for the series
Holy shit. An actual mental case in BS threads. Or just a massive contrarian. Been seeing a lot of those lately in these threads.
where do i download BSII?
Here
thanks anons i'm literally braindead
Scroll up dodo
How the frick do you not already understand everything about this game? You're not the type of tard that needs Vaati to explain everything to you, right?
reminder that the Outer One of Fire is Cthugha, Outer One of Water is Cthulhu, Outer One of Earth is Yidhra, and Outer One of Wind is Hastur.
>whats your proof for this-
If you're not moronic you know I'm right. That is all. When BS3 comes and they're all exactly as I say, you will be kneeling before me.
leaf doesnt have a twin, someone else wrote that book. either its mabel (inversed alice) or prickett (alice 1)
>said to be incredibly wise
THEN WHATS THE REAL POINT OF THE DEVOUR SKILL?! IT CANT BE AS USELESS AS IT IS IF SHE IS SO WISE
honest question; why does leaf get so much hate?
like in the first game she's your first companion and mechanically the best a qt little fairy in general, but then in the second game there's that scene in the endless dungeon where you punt her or something and the option to harapan her when you find her tied up and people on hgg talk like she's the bad guy or something
We may never know...
Because of the fake endings in 1 that aren't really fake. Glad to help.
I only remember one of the 'and everyone lived happily ever after...' I got naturally, and then the black goat one where everyone clapped and I'm not really sure what happened
you may want to do ending C again then, that one brings up all the reasons to hate leaf
just to clarify when I say only remember, I mean I only ever got those two endings, not that I forgot what happens in the other ones
so you only saw those 2 endings but still knows what happens in the other ones or i'm reading this wrong?
no clue what happens in the others, read some guide after getting those two that described how to get the other ones but never followed up
yeah I remember reading up about that, also I never met red riding hood, and then upstairs of some boss room there was some dead chick who I was later told would have been a companion if you did some other stuff in a different order
bro tf you doing playing BS2 without doing all the endings in the first game.
go do them right now you dork.
So what? You did only B and D? Get back and do A right now, you can get every other ending from there. And after C come back to the castle.
Here's a checklist. https://pastebin.com/tANDVMzn
Ok so essentially you skipped the ending that explains what the plot of Black Souls 1 actually is
If you'd like me to just tell you what happens here ya go
Leaf is God who made the world into a fairy tale land after getting obsessed with them. Jealous of the MC's and Alice's relationship where they'd spend all their time reading and writing stories with each other, she decides she'll make her own story, kills Alice wipes MC's memory, orchestrates the world into her shitty dark souls fanfiction. Everything in the game is just part of Leaf's story including all the horrible endings where the companions get fricked super hard, with things resetting to before the end because she's still having fun with it. Ending C has you learn this, and go kill Leaf with the help of a message left behind by Alice. You rape and choke her to death, everyone and the world becomes revived. This ends up just also being one of her endings and she mocks you for falling for it
wtf i like leaf even more now
She killed my browife Dorothy in that one timeline that I can't abide
browife
Anon hate to tell you but...
its pretty close to fact that leaf was summoned by prayer master because HE was jealous of their relationship
You can ask either here or on the /vrpg/ thread and I'm sure someone will spoonfeed you but it's probably worth trying to get the 'true' ending yourself in BS1. You just need all the fairy tales and not only are none of them missable, but you can run through a NG+ in like, an hour since you'll be so overpowered.
The goat ending assumed you've done the true ending which is why it didn't make too much sense to you.
Because she's shit!
SHIT!
Finish the first game before passing to the second game.
Anyone have this image but with the buffs from BS2?
Thanks
damn so it had a bigger image resolution
no wonder I couldn't find it
Making Grimm take the place of Roland in this p[ic is pretty meta for all the weapon switching you do.
Why is Requiem so useless? It seems every enemy in DLC3 just straight up ignores it, even the ones like the knights that shouldn't have any kind of dispelling properties to their attacks. At least Onimusha removes buffs and also goes on for so long that the buff would run out naturally anyway.
Rape!
leaf a cute and did nothing wrong
How do anons cope knowing rif and triple handicap are EMMM's favorites?
FRICK ALICE
On it
okay I give up, HOW THE FRICK AM I SUPPOSE TO KILL SATYR, WHY IS HIS LIFE ALWAYS REFILLING, I KILLED HIM LIKE 10 TIMES AND HE'S STILL STANDING?!?!?!??!
He's postgame, if you haven finished the main game yet come back later. If you have, try levelling a companion to 99 and getting their ultimate ability.
As far as I know he should just die when he's killed
These games made me feel what I haven't felt with vidya since my teens. Looking forward to the next installations and hoping EMMM doesn't an hero.
Same. It's the first vidya series I bothered replaying since... I think Mass Effect trilogy back in 2016. Oh, and the Metro series in preparation for Exodus back in 2019
I played the series like 2 years ago, 100%ed first game and did one of the endings of the second, just remember getting mad birded and losing almost all my girls and Bills, dont remember much of the ending but did explore everything I could on that route, only did a bit of the labyrinth until i reached a boss that could unequip my gear, but everything was a magical experience overall. Where im going with this is that I want to play the second game again, this time do all there is to do, but I have a few questions I would appreciate if you could spoon feed me, as I couldn't really get the answers when I plyed blindly.
>How does agility work against late game enemies? Specifically dark spirit invasions and enemies like leviathan which just seemed like no matter how much speed bonus I had, they acted as quick as always. I powered throught the first game and most of the second just outspeedng enemies, but it stoped working in some fights.
>Related to that question, is there a soft cap for agility? Are there fights where having 999 or 1 speed becomes irrelevant?
>How do I access the DLCs?
>Some fights seemed "cheesy" with how op some effects are, that the game almost expects you to use those combos switching weapons constantly, given how some fights beat my shit later on, Im right, or should I stick to a few of them?
>How exactly do you know when to block, shot and dodge?
>What is the catch with the pocketwatches that let you take an extra turn? There has to be a catch.
>Will I miss too much if I played with H scenes turned off? I watched a few of them and some had bits character development, info or lore. Yes im a pussy, but I feel like they ruin the pace of the game.
Thanks for reading my blog, love you.
>is there a soft cap for agility?
Yes, you have a soft cap at 1000 speed, though some anon noted how he needed 3000 against certain bosses on his SL1 run
>How do I access the DLCs?
DLC1 is the underwater area, and preferably you'll want to do it before getting ending G
DLC2 is Chaos Dungeon, do it after ending G
DLC3 is lots of new areas, bosses and lore. Do it after Chaos Dungeon
>the game almost expects you to use those combos switching weapons constantly, given how some fights beat my shit later on, Im right, or should I stick to a few of them?
You'd be correct, weapon switching is expected of you late game. Base game bosses are all pretty easy when compared to the bullshit DLC3 throws at you. Very difficult, some of the most fun I had with an RPG
>What is the catch with the pocketwatches that let you take an extra turn? There has to be a catch.
See pic
>Will I miss too much if I played with H scenes turned off?
Yes, especially in BS2. Some of them have outright lore dumps in them. Especially ending C in BS1
All right guys thank you a lot, I pretty much wasted your time on making you pat me on the back and telling me Im right, but better safe than sorry, being moronicd is in my nature.
Also related to DLC's, I dont remember any of the places you said, but if you are telling me they come after ending G, does it mean I cant do them before that? Because I remember going to an underwater zone (where you fight the leviathan and the nautilus looking guy) and I think i did most of the chaos dungeons if those are the "roguelike mode" where the best girl on the series assists you (blue haired girl taht kind of looks like hina from touhou).
Should I avoid those then? Or Im mistaking them for something else? Those are my last questions, sorry for asking a lot. Rather ask now than when plying and get spoiled too much.
>does it mean I cant do them before that?
The only DLC that you can't do before G is DLC 3. The deep sea and the chaos dungeon are DLC 1 and 2 respectively. Avoid them only if you want to not get stupidly broken too quickly.
Nah, doing DLC1 (underwater area) is fine and even expected. It's the prerequisite for ending B
>It's the prerequisite for ending B
Strictly speaking you can fulfill the requirement with RNG drops in the Chaos Dungeon too, but yeah. I just meant it in the sense that trying to go there too soon will break the difficulty curve for the rest of the game.
Good, I did DLC 1 when i played back then after all, and as i said previously at some point the dungeons filtered me hard so im following your advice.
Black souls 2 is really an unique experience, have vey fond memories of the segment from arriving to the train station with a very special maid to spending quality time with not e-girl alice and making her have an identity crisis on a maze, everything before and after that is just a fever dream.
High hopes about finally completing it, at least i will have to wait less than you guys for Red's game. Thanks for the answers.
You should only avoid the Chaos Dungeon because after you leave it nothing in the base game will be able to even scratch you.
DLC 3 can only be done after ending G. Just do DLC 1 and 2 whenever you feel like it. I would reccommend doing DLC 1 during one of your 2/3rd cycles and DLC 2 after ending G for the sake of balance/story.
>How does agility work against late game enemies?
>Related to that question, is there a soft cap for agility?
There's a soft cap for agility after which neither you nor enemies don't actually gain speed. After you pass it you should always be having your turn first. Leveling agility after that is only useful for weapons that scale with it. The only enemy that can outspeed your first turn from what I remember is in DLC3, but there might be some other gimmick boss that always goes first idk.
>How do I access the DLCs?
The beach, door on the right side of the rape dungeon, DLC3 unlocks after you get ending G.
>Some fights seemed "cheesy"
You're right, cheesing is how the game is meant to be played.
>How exactly do you know when to block, shot and dodge?
You shot when you enemy charging an attack, if it didn't work you either didn't have enough luck or should dispel it instead and if that didn't work then you have to dodge or block, which one works better you unfortunately have to test in practice.
>What is the catch with the pocketwatches that let you take an extra turn? There has to be a catch.
There's none, they're just OP
>Will I miss too much if I played with H scenes turned off?
Probably
>Missed out on the cards AGAIN
What do we think of Charlotte? I always figured it was named Charlotte because of Charles Perrault since he was another Red Hood author, so another Red Hood.
>What do we think of Charlotte?
I'm waiting warmly for her H-scenes with Red.
It might be a trap.
Straight trap is fine with me too.
Nah
She's Grimm's child with Red
fricking off by 3
Non-0 repeating digits are disabled on Ganker
I know but at least I got 69
Anon, we're on Ganker.
>She's Grimm's child with Red
I look warmly to her H-Scenes with Red.
It's a mother's job to teach her daughter how to pleasure her father the best after all
Given red's game, I'm thinking Red would still be subbing for her own daughter.
Is she? Toro's presentation of the character used "her", I dont think its a trap, just another Red Hood
Wondering if she's imitating Red on her own or Red is intentionally raising her as her replacement.
>Red is intentionally raising her as her replacement.
How would that make any sense chronologically or logically?
If RDH is set between 1 and 2 or 2 and DLC3, Red is aware of the time limit. She may be trying to leave behind a "child" in the time she has left.
>If RDH is set between 1 and 2
It's almost certainly this.
>or 2 and DLC3
Like 99% of that takes place before our cycle start point (the prologue) which is when Red's led into Wonderland by Node. It should still technically count as the time between BS1 and BS2 though?
>Dead
>Red
>Hood
There's also time frickery going on demonbeast Red is missing the arm she loses in G end
Hmm? Did I miss a picture of 100 SEN Red in DRH being released?
BS2 demonbeast Red, nothing on that front yet that I know in RDH
>BS2 demonbeast Red, nothing on that front yet that I know in RDH
If you mean the difference between the 100 SEN Red and the 0 SEN Red arms, the 100 SEN Red is probably just Grimm remembering a previous G ending, since it's not a cyclebreaker ending. There's still absolutely zero sign of Poro post-H or in the ADV screenshot EMMM released so he probably died in G, same as when Red lost her arm, and Red's 100 SEN design incorporates both of those things she lost in G.
No, he's right for Red, at least, since she doesn't cycle and she winds up outside of the garden. Grimm's the one stuck in the loops, so for him H is the ultimate cyclebreaker.
Do we know of any characters even named Charlotte in fairy tales, alice in wonderland, or Argartha?Preferably one that fits her character?
Crackpot theory for me is Charlotte is Grimm and Miranda's child in her ending and Red is raising her as her own little sister or child No there is no source, I just think it would be cool
>We just dont know
All I can think of is Charlotte's web
>dragon girl
>fairy
>slime girl
>anthros
>furry
now that I think about it we don't have any spider girls
I agree that would be cool but in that end Miranda turns to ash on death, which wouldn't leave a body for merphylia
Timelines are fricked in Black Souls and everything that isn't a "Game Over" screen is actually canon due to cycles. Based on the first and second game there is one "cycle breaker" ending that leads to the next.
Yeah, every run you do is canon in BS1, every ending led to something happening (Red Hood's ending leads to her breaking out of the cycle in BS1 and she doesnt get pozzed by Leaf either), and at the same time it is a fact that you killed her at the hotel for ending C.
The same happens in BS2 where the G ending leads to Red Hood breaking out of the cycle and leaving Wonderland, but you are still bound to it because of GG's bond.
G isn't the cycle breaker, just an attempt at one. H is the real cycle breaker for 2.
I know. I did say Grimm didnt break out because of GG. Red Hood does, and just goes back for you again. Poro even becomes a Demonbeast in one of the late added scenes for DLC3.
Yep Red's existence is proof that all timelines are canon. She doesn't come from End D of BS1, but her own respective ending Although, Red is a special case because she can use mirrors to hop around. So I dont think she is actually in a cycle during BS2. Time is probably linear for her and what we see is Grimm himself meeting Red for the first time over and over again. There's a timeline another anon made some time ago that mapped it out really well.
This is also why I believe Miranda's kid could actually show up/be Charlotte
>There's a timeline another anon made some time ago that mapped it out really well.
If you mean pic related, I'm the one that made it. I should really get around to remaking it though, there's a few things I want to change and add to.
>fricking autopost
brief dodo moment, disregard
Cool that you're still around. I was planning to make a timeline video from the beginning of the series at some point, but I'm definitely going to wait till Red Dead Hood comes out. Knowing the timelines is insanely important to understanding the lore and how/why characters appear post-mortem I'm just worried about things like the tea party and other debates on who/when/what happened during Wonderland 1.0
>Red 20. Grimm's line keeps going and Red's stops.
My pain is immeasureable
Huh, that is a very interesting point
>Cool that you're still around.
I've been around since before BS2's first MTL hit, so unless EMMM shits the bed with the series I'll probably be around in the future too, even if I'm not here 24/7.
>Red 20. Grimm's line keeps going and Red's stops.
I'm glad you enjoyed that detail, I think you're the first to bring it up actually. Though with what Hatta says there in White Castletown, it'll probably end up being an incorrect detail.
>I was planning to make a timeline video from the beginning of the series at some point
Personally, I'm really fricking iffy on making external resources for a series like Black Souls, even outside of the author's intent being very clear about experimenting, exploring, and . Make no mistake, they can be incredibly useful, but I've had the misfortune of arguing with people who clearly just read fan wikis and watch videos made by random youtubers to skip the "boring" parts of actually playing the game and forming their own opinions and wind up parroting misunderstandings or misinformation. Not to say that you'll do a shitty job of it or anything, it's just something I'm generally wary of.
>experimenting, exploring, and
and figuring shit out on your own, that is.
I think I first played through Black Souls during the first /hgg2d/ general. Knew nothing, just saw Red's game and Black Souls with really cool looking art. Played blind through pretty much everything. I didn't even start posting until I got to Ending B of BS2.
>spoiler
Yeah I understand. I mainly made my videos for archival purposes more than anything. I make them more for people who finish the game and want to rewatch/review certain scenes.
I really dont like the idea of secondaries coming in either. For example, some people in this thread asking for stuff like public wikis are just bound to bring morons (we seem to have plenty now). The video would be backed up with the appropriate scenes/dialogue if possible. The timeline in Black Souls is pretty fricked even with evidence supporting it. So it would probably still be largely speculative on my behalf, which I would make fairly clear. I dont really want to be a ""source"" of information, just an explanation of how the timelines (probably) work
So long as you keep it just to the facts, it should be fine. Don't try to go Vaati on us or I'll hunt you down and feed you your own testicles.
It's a game where you can rape your lesbians e-girl-daughters or have them kill each other out of jealously. You're not getting hood rich out of this.
I would never want to be an idea-stealing hack
The clips and stuff I'd prefer to keep up since they're just that, clips. I dont add anything significant to them. But for something like the timeline I could definitely keep it unlisted. Some of my videos if you're curious, spoilers for newbies:
https://youtu.be/DrDzDrShRV0
https://youtu.be/FG8oceCrnok
Sure I wouldn't mine hearing other ideas. This is what I think roughly. Basically, in BS1 timelines from all non end D endings converged after Leaf's garden was taken over. Red dies in all the other endings, so the one that shows up in BS2 is most likely the Red that goes after the mastermind in end A. Grimm is stuck in a loop via TCO/GG frickery in BS2, other characters are recycled and loop with him. This is of course w/out red, who lies outside of the play and the loop.
While I'm sure your first video wasn't meant to be comprehensive, I'm surprised you missed/didn't add stuff like Duchess's 1-30 SEN interaction when you first meet her, you can clearly see she's tossing and eating a baby in it. Likewise the blink and you'll miss it 0 SEN first meeting and following conversation with Prickett is something that gets glossed over by a lot of players, especially with the ladies in the hallway before raising SEN. If you're going to include out of the way 0 SEN messages as well, I'd add other shit like the Carpenter's message at the end of Tenniel Bridge in Lutwidge Town.
>Basically, in BS1 timelines from all non end D endings converged after Leaf's garden was taken over.
Why non-D endings merging specifically instead of all of them?
>Red dies in all the other endings
She kicks it in C, but she's completely and utterly absent for D, pic related. If I had to peg the exact point where the internal garden timelines merge for BS1, it'd be immediately after Shub is defeated, as Red is summonable for her fight before that point yet doesn't ever mention something that important in BS2.
>so the one that shows up in BS2 is most likely the Red that goes after the mastermind in end A.
Yes, she talks about going for the mastermind's head in her personal ending in BS1, and mentions that being her goal for BS2 when you meet her in Lutwidge.
>Grimm is stuck in a loop via TCO/GG frickery in BS2
Essentially, though GG's the root cause of the issue.
>other characters are recycled and loop with him. This is of course w/out red, who lies outside of the play and the loop.
That exact criteria feels off to me, though I'm not sure how to explain it in a way that makes sense at the moment.
What else are you interested in hearing about?
Let me preface this by saying that I haven't done a proper playthrough for BS2 since DLC 3, so I might've missed some stuff I was foggy on.
You're probably right, I should have added Prickett's scene and carpenter's message. For everything else, I left it for people to find on their own. Basically stuff that is easy to find in an average 0 SEN run.
I also have been meaning to replay through BS1 as well. I genuinely forgot that she doesnt show up at all in D. Although I still think Red (BS2) is from the end A version like you said. If timelines actually converge post end D, what about the Red that is missing in end D? I feel like Red Dead Hood will actually answer this for us but that is interesting.
>other characters are recycled and loop with him. This is of course w/out red, who lies outside of the play and the loop.
Maybe I worded this a little poorly, but the other characters including covenants are either replaced (end B) or cycle with Grimm each time (Pumpkin bro, Sherlock, etc). Like you mention in your orignial timeline pic, Red is most likely not trapped in a loop in BS2, rather Grimm is just cycling back to the first night in Lutwidge while time runs linear for red.
My biggest concerns are actually about what happens between each of the games as that is where most of the speculation is going to be.
>First tea party and Wonderland 1.0, was that Grimm/Prickett, Lewis/Prickett, Lewis/Alice. I lean towards the first
>The gap(?) between BS1 and 2
Sorry, busy right now so I might gloss over shit.
>what about the Red that is missing in end D?
Red's outside of the garden in her personal ending, and I believe that's the single most important factor in the series regarding general timeline frickery and determining who remembers what happening. After all, we know BS2 Red has zero recollection of C and she's never mentioned the events of D (or even just up to the Shub fight) so far either despite Grimm canonically experiencing both of them. D Red would still be stuck in a collapsing/collapsed garden after the Shub fight (and then rounded up and killed by Mary shortly after presumably), which would directly conflict with the Red that's hit reality already when the timelines merge and unify. BS doesn't seem to do multiple/parallel timeline versions of character existing simultaneously, so the timeline where she's already in reality takes precedence over whatever could possibly happen in D for her. I use a similar rationalization for the reverse route/H shit in BS2.
>First tea party and Wonderland 1.0, was that Grimm/Prickett, Lewis/Prickett, Lewis/Alice. I lean towards the first
I'm HARD Lewis/Prickett, (though she wasn't called that or looked like that at the time). Don't know why you listed Lewis/Prickett and Lewis/Alice separately though, the real Alice hasn't had any notable role in the original tea party that we know of and Prickett was playing the role of Alice at the tea party.
>The gap(?) between BS1 and 2
We really don't have much actual information on this, it's probably best left for after DRH's release.
If you just want meme difficulty try old jank ass games like Wizardry, especially 4. Won't guarantee you'll like them though.
>but am I going insane or did something actually appear during the brief black flashes once you walk away
Yes.
I know the Japanese are also big on this take. Lewis being there would fit the timeline a lot more smoothly. Basically TCO and Alice deal>Lewis taken by Prickett>Wonderland 1.0>He, He, and She>Leaf takes Lewis>Grimm is made. What confuses me the most is the memory loss he has in the memory flame where Lewis is taken. As well as Lewis himself making a wish to Leaf prior to being taken by Prickett in another flame (one where he meets old Alice). It complicates the timeline, but to me it could have been: Wish made by Lewis>Grimm made>TCO wish causes chaos>Grimm taken by Prickett>Wonderland 1.0>He, He, and She>Leaf takes back Grimm via black rabbit wish.
I'll read your reply later, I have to head off to bed.
>What confuses me the most is the memory loss he has in the memory flame where Lewis is taken.
A very good thing to notice. Personally I have a theory for that that I'll try to write up on the /vrpg/ thread when I have the time to, though I expect reception of it to be mixed at best.
>Yeah I understand. I mainly made my videos for archival purposes more than anything. I make them more for people who finish the game and want to rewatch/review certain scenes.
While I don't know anything about your videos, have you considered just unlisting them (or however Youtube does that shit) and just keeping them to smaller circles like these?
>So it would probably still be largely speculative on my behalf, which I would make fairly clear.
That's good to hear. If you want, I can offer some more of my opinions on how shit works too, would save me the trouble of trying to make more informational images.
If Miranda did indeed conceed a child, its likely that its still alive even with Leaf's tampering.
I wish I had the conversation but apparently Miranda took Bathomet's blood and became an undead as a result
>Miranda took Bathomet's blood and became an undead as a result
No, she was still explicitly human, even with the blood in play. Lindamea would know as he's an immortal undead himself.
What if Charlotte is the daughter Grimm sired with Baphomet?
It'd be a very, very odd form for the kid to take. The color scheme would work at least, but the clothes and everything else, not so much.
the clothes could be Red's influence from her efforts to resurrect the black trial, and a child of Baphomet would be a decent choice for a black trial recruit
who tf is charlotte
are all of these from teasers on reds new game or something? im feeling even more like a lorelet than usual
Ye, the first announcement.
Anon... how many announcements have you lost? Toro has been constantly updating us about the game
[BLACK EXECUTIONER HISTORIC Charlotte]
A deep-rooted newcomer. She is a junior of Red Hood
She hates Garum, but on the contrary, she often misses Red Hood. The distance is very close.
Her execution tool is "cutting scissors"
rough MTL
>Garum
Who?
[BLACK TORTURE OFFICER Garum]
A rough big man. He lacks thoughtfulness. He is vulgar and vulgar. He is a sex addict. Power harassment. Mental age is low.
He is willing to do anything outrageous if he is a sinner.
His execution tool is "saw"
>He is vulgar and vulgar
how vulgar.
So basically Satyr but a dog?
Why didn't you just say so
Ye pretty much
Grimm's newest daughter-wife.
> Grimm wearing Red's hood in BS3
Holy shit that would be so kino
>figured it was named Charlotte because of Charles Perrault
are you sure about that?
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlotte_Grimm
Who could this be?
The Red knight from BS1 that you encounter on that cave with the river.
I am NEARLY sure thats him, because he was one of the characters that stood out the most to me in BS1.
But he was Blue, unless we're talking about a different guy. You mean the cave leading to Black Court?
No, I am talking about this guy
His story was completely left unfinished and he was one of the strongest dudes in BS1 too.
>The Red knight from BS1 that you encounter on that cave with the river.
>I am NEARLY sure thats him, because he was one of the characters that stood out the most to me in BS1.
He was an incredibly minor character in the game though, as far as I know his deal was that he awoke Hans. Like, it's far from impossible, but it'd be a big leap in terms of role and presumable importance, even Izu's appearance makes more sense to me.
I think it would be cool if (s)he were the equivalent of Sand Wraith
I just got the urge to replay Prince of Persia trilogy. Again.
I reloaded my save file and went here.
Its definitely the same guy.
And remember, this is the only character to actually manage to ressurect someone in this series beyond time frickery.
Was the shaman the same dude as the fricker by the lake? I don't think he was.
Yeah I think I might be wrong, just ressurected Jeanne and the guy is still there, but here its just water ripples, ill check back after beating the humming skeleton
Ye anon is right, Shaman is still alive and this guy showed up after beating the humming Skeleton
And also
>Foolish prince
>doesnt drop a Fairy Tale either
But can he revive red?
Given the right conditions (Red's Soul, her body ashes and a Kraken's tentacle) I dont see why not
wouldn't she just die again immediately
unless she's reborn as a baby i guess
That guy
is a optional boss you have to kill for a fairy tale not the Skeleton Shaman.
Where do I download this? I wanna go to Alice too
You can skip Red's game it doesn't have much going on
100%ing BS1 is basically required reading for BS2
Don't skip Red's game but play it after BS1.
So i started playing Black Souls recently but i started with 2 since i heard from some anons it has better gameplay and its alright story wise to start with. Im not that far in, only just got to the town where you meet the rabbit prostitute
Should i keep playing or am i being moronic and should i start with 1 instead for the better overall experience?
Play 1 first. 2's story is confusing enough as it is, and it'll become utterly incomprehensible if you haven't played 1 first
Alright thanks anons, i will go play 1 first
how many hours are we talking here for an average playthrough of these games?
10-15 hours for BS1
around 35-40+ hours for BS2
I see, thats alot of content... seems pretty interesting from what i played though so im into it
Cheers anon!
About 8 hours for a first time playthrough. A couple more to get the important endings, if that
Try and do the covenants if you can, you can do them all with no real consequence and their rewards are insane
>but i started with 2
>am i being moronic and should i start with 1
Yes, you are being moronic and should start with 1. 1 is objectively a worse game across the board and has most of its important plot elements backloaded into the endings, but it's required to understand BS2's plot, especially the farther along you go into 2.
The latter. Play 1, it's not that long and with context you'll enjoy 2 a lot more.
Yes, most of the game is essentially filler tbh but two of the endings are extremely important to know what the deal is in 2
You should also try to get all the companion's endings but they aren't entirely necessary
Fricking Blackbeard is filtering me REEEE.
Reminder we have a perma thread on /vrpg/
god i cant fricking wait to redeem leaf
Alright now im frankly not sure. It could be either of the two skeletons seeing as Red Hood's game is about hunting sinners, both the Shaman and the foolish prince have commited sins to their names.
>One makes the taboo of bringing back someone to life (it adds to your sin count in BS1)
>The other seemingly commited an atrocity that led to his kingdom being genocided if not by his hand and keeps apologizing during the battle (this guy also drops a Ring of the Red mantle)
I can only go about speculation but these are the only two red cape skeletons
There's a wiki but it's in japanese.
Also BS1 is easy as frick so I can understand changing weapons. Especially if you use summon.
idk, im 8 hours in and the lore is almost no existing
If you mean BS1, then it was already said that the game backloads most of its plot into the endings.
BS1 lore is pretty much just fairy tale stuff until the last hours.
>There are people here who didnt play Red Hood's Woods
I wonder how many missed Heinrich
I wonder if EMMM knows there's a lot of gaijin schizos talking about his game years after its been released. I bet he would like it considering how much of a westboo he is.
Considering how often he is reposting art on twitter yeah I definitely think he knows
Any news on Red Dead Hood?
Summer 2023. Estimated 300+ CGs.
>Estimated 300+ CGs.
wtf.
Upper estimates are in the 450 range, since he said he exceeded the 300 expected CGs already and had around 150 more to make.
He is the inverse of the Patreon H-game scamartist. It's like he managed to harness all the neglected work ethic unto himself and convert into a seed of pure schizo energy.
Why yes, this IS a lobotomy reference.
Leaf and Illias meet. How does their meeting end?
Ilias tries to kill Leaf, Leaf pulps her
total Black personman apocalypse
Not them, but I'm pretty sure Black personmen are a tier above the piss god considering the kind of shit that happens in Paradox. Even Canada has a pretty good shot of taking her I think.
rif just seems like a pushover outside her power of creation. TCO or Yog would be ggnore but the green onahole gets splatted.
>rif just seems like a pushover outside her power of creation.
At the end of the day though, she still IS a Black personman, and that alone still places her far above most things in the universe even if she's small potatoes in comparison to the other Black personmen. That power to change is some wack ass shit too.
Most of the shit that happens in Paradox doesn't make her out to be weaker than the ending of the first game did, just that there's some stronger entities. The problem is it's hard to make out Black Souls powerscale while you can somewhat make out MGQ's thanks to Paradox adding in guns and explosives. So while Ilias can kill someone with lightning I'd doubt she'd kill a strong Black personman with it
>Most of the shit that happens in Paradox doesn't make her out to be weaker than the ending of the first game did, just that there's some stronger entities.
Yeah, but those stronger entities are closer to what you'd see from the Black personmen in BS, at least in my opinion.
Anon I like our divine racist as much as the next guy but I don't think she shows power anywhere close to what the Black personmen can do even at her strongest
Demifiend rips open the fabric of reality and GAEA RAGEs both of them into oblivion
Leaf love!
I had to swap from a mage comp to a physical comp because DLC3 was beating my ass. Supposedly there are some new magic books on the CD, but I didn't check.
how can i download this game
Ctrl f pastebin
Feels like Black Souls is the only consistent thread where people only talk about the game. Don't even shitpost with each other. It's nice.
>only talk about the game
The thread just turned into a Ganker thread
But it's still about how it relates to the game. It's enjoyable because it encourages you to become a Gankergay.
I grew up in a white trash mill town, I never got to be cultured.
I actually grew up surrounded by literature, was a pretty avid reader. Stopped because uni is a black hole of a time sink, but BS encouraged me to get back into the groove
If you've had little contact with literature up till now, I'd recommend starting with something enjoyable, rather than a dense brick. I recommend Don Quixote (Grossman translation - important, other translations are too archaic) and Monte Cristo
I think it sucks. Its popularity, along with Demons Roots, baffles me. If you want a H-game with a similar (story) quality to BS, get into VNs and plotge
It's not like I wasn't a big reader. I just read more pulp type works. Moorwiener and the like.
Wannabe detective from the previous thread. Right now Prickett and Jubjub are my biggest suspects.
Bandersnatch is too frumious, or perhaps not frumious enough. Jabberwock is mysterious but seems unrelated to the deaths.
Lorina basically shut down after being imprisoned. Probably incapable of causing everyone to die.
Prickett seems to have blinked out of existence after attempting to imprison her, but her covenant still remains. Not sure what to make of this, but if she's the culprit then maybe her songs are the cause.
Jubjub had a couple lines about "only doing her work", "bringing harm to the world and people" and "casual murder". Hard to dismiss as flavor text.
Having gone through the map again I think I'll count the March Hare, the Dormouse, the Hatter, and the Mock Turtle as victims too, marking nine and counting.
Doing a low sen run's giving me more questions than answers, what with Red Hood showing up and nearly everyone else talking in runes that are incomprehensible even with Prickett's ring.
Wandered into the mental ward from the rabbit hole and the twins were demonbeasts, so even forming covenants might become an issue this cycle.
Good. Do you have a plan to figure it out?
I want to try opening a path to Queensland and the clock tower and experimenting with eliminating one or the other at the ninth torch, but I'll save that for next cycle since the sen is getting in the way of the covenants. For now I'll continue with low sen and see if Red or someone else might have useful info.
Low sen and mistaken identity? I just had a scene with Grimm suddenly confusing Red for Alice and nearly killing her before snapping out of it, feels oddly related.
dis Black person got ____birded__ I always enjoy being treated to a little British joke.
You're on the right track. Think carefully about how everyone died, and what might have motivated the murders. A butcher who only kills beavers kills a dodo. Mocky murder-suicides her gay lover. Dum kills her gay sister-lover. Griffy kills her friend (Bill). What could be the cause of all this?
Looks like you're on the right track, detective anon. Forming covenants at 0 sen will be an issue this run but what does that say if you meet someone who still appears normal even then?
Despite Queensland becoming filled with chess pieces, Prickett is still Prickett. But there's no way I could miss that static and sudden appearance of Alice where she was standing. Curiouser and curiouser.
I remembered that I could reach the library through Queensland so I've also got a better idea of how much time I have left to figure things out. Now to check on Jubjub to see how things play out with that meeting.
Good luck detective anon. was there anything else in Queensland?
For me?
For me, it's Red Hood
Any news if EMMM watched Puss in Boots 2? Chances this influences him?
how would jub jub sound? would she sound like a british woman?
Almost every character would sound British anon. Except for the ones that are French.
I've dropped the game at the point where you save the brother and sister from that monster then frick one of the kids 3 times. I don't get it. It's so boring.
Sounds like you played for like two hours most and then gave up.
I dunno how people can find BS1 boring it baffles me
>starts off with fighting a giant fricking dragon
>Meet Dorothy very quickly (great girl)
>The map gives you several roads you can take and explore
>The many climatic encounters you have in it that make those in BS2 stand out even more
BS1's biggest flaw is that the map design was still kind of shit, especially with RPGmaker tank controls.
It feels a LOT better in BS2 to explore.
Yeah because you can get Run Like Dodo five minutes in and don't have to suffer crawling at a snails pace. BS1 was overall much tighter and packed with events, so you ran into interesting stuff more often. BS2 is obviously the more fun game and the shift in how the world feels does make a lot of sense in the story, but i missed the main character feel BS1 gave you.
The respawn rate in BS1 was horrendous in comparison too. Glad that was toned down for BS2.
I'm making an RPG Maker game, is it necessary to have porn in it to attract autists that will scavenge the game all over, or just quality lore and fights?
Maybe don't put straight up porn in it but have something +18 that isn't just gore.
Much as I hate to say it, the porn is probably a necessary evil to draw attention to it in the first place, if the actual quality of the game is good enough then word of mouth comes into play like it did for BS. BS manages to generally make the porn relevant too though instead of having it there for the sake of it.
I always planned to make my own hentai version of RPG Maker Dark Souls but after playing BS2 I realized I cant compare to EMMM in terms of lore writing. Still gonna do it but guess I will have to put extra effort on the hentai parts to make up for it.
I guess I will just try MGQ out while I wait for BS3...
What that other schizo rpg called, New Game i think? It got some weirdly drawn characters. How long is that one?
MGQ ain't really schizo at all
The sequel does a little schizo dabbling
Still worth playing for non schizo reasons of course
10ish hours
If you like it, he's got two more, MY]R and also The Mercenary's Adventure
New Game had a cool concept and SOUL art, but the gameplay was so slow and painful I couldn't get through it. Imagine bs1 combat but even slower, without the tactical layer companions offered and you don't get to avoid random encounters.
MGQ is great. Personally don't really like paradox.
>remember a fairy tale I heard when I was 5 years old about a poor girl who freezes to death and her soul is carried to heaven
>never remember more than this
>look up little match girl because of Black Souls
>Ooooh that's the tale I was told in childhood
I have to love this game for bringing that story back to memory.
>Toro is gonna release "A day with Red Hood" a game where you simply live with Red Hood
That seems like fun
LORINA!
Buy her cards NOW
THEY'RE OUT OF STOCK
>gatekeeping
I was spoonfed the entire plot by you gays on here and /vrpg/.
is this game a free download? Im about to fall for the meme and give it the big try
It's technically something you have to pay for, but everyone just pirates it
See pastebin here
>pick up shiny on ground
>looks like every other item you could pick up off the ground
>oopsie poopsie you've now locked yourself out of some characters 🙂
yeah not playing this garbage
you didnt need that shotawiener anyway
You missed out on one sex scene, that's it
The point is that level of arbitrary moronation sets up expectations for the rest of the game, especially when it happens so early. The gameplay was fine but I really dislike those kinds of missables.
Then you'd absolutely hate BS2. Tons of secrets that require multiple playthroughs to uncover
I don't think that's a fair thing to say. Secrets that require multiple playthroughs are fine. My example given is not a secret, it's just stupid. Wasn't planning on playing it anyway however.
But it IS a secret. Talking to Leaf near the bonfire after picking up the bread crumbs reveals that 'they won't make it back home' or something along those lines, which you should know refers to Hansel and Gretel. And on NG+ you're likely to just ignore the bread crumbs, which would lead you to uncovering them
Does something change if you don't pick up the bread crumbs?
Yes. Hansel and Gretel don't turn into demonbeasts, but are regular NPCs instead
>Talking to Leaf near the bonfire after picking up the bread crumbs reveals that 'they won't make it back home' or something along those lines,
And if you could put the breadcrumbs back after learning this that'd be fine. Or if that npc that hints at the breadcrumbs was before you were able to pick them up then that's fine.
Here's a normal video game secret
>go out of your way to do something extra or figure something out
>rewarded with extra content
Here's this particular BS secret
>play completely normally
>lol moron your content has been revoked, good luck next time
The gameplay is nowhere near good enough, in my opinion, to warrant multiple playthroughs. Missing shit for playing NORMALLY is moronic.
You miss shit playing normally so that you may still find new things when you're speedrunning the game on your second cycle and don't bother with picking up shit off the floor.
you ""missed"" 3 potential H-scenes actually and a few minor scenes, but also by picking it up you found a new boss fight. This game is meant to be replayed a bit if you want everything as theres a bunch of alternative end to things.
After triggering NG+ shit is like 30minutes to reach the end again you dont gotta think too deep first run
>After triggering NG+ shit is like 30minutes to reach the end again you dont gotta think too deep first run
So you're saying NG+ retains your character making subsequent playthroughs really short? If that's the case then I revise my opinion of it a bit. Then missables such as the one I'm b***hing about isn't so bad. Still really triggered my autism.
Sucks for you, stuff like that is the reason why I love this game and Dark Souls
Is this more fun than Fear and Hunger? Got filtered by it because while the art and setting was neat, the gameplay was overall boring as shit.
Yes it is.
No coinflips here, the battles are faster and the game is overall easy to break. If you still want to have some challenge try not to level up too much and learn how to use your equipment and items.
>he thinks he's about to finish the game
How do I get the Hatter and the other two girls off the gallows? I defeated the girl at the top of the tower but it didn't do anything
>I defeated the girl at the top of the tower but it didn't do anything
Why did you think that would make them magically become unhanged?
>magically become unhanged
Because this is a game with magic where lots of stuff doesn't make logical sense. How do I unhang them because interacting with them doesn't do anything.
Its over for them anon. You gotta let it go. Alternatively, you could go Find Alice and maybe that will fix the problem?
>gallows
ohnononono
check your covenants and visit the rabbitprostitute
Stop being vague. What is that supposed to mean? I fricked up somehow? I have a covenant with Node. Am I supposed to switch it or something?
Hehe
It happens to everyone, anon. Why don't you check up on everyone?
If they're at the gallows it just means NG+ (next cycle) is ready and everything is a frick , which you can now do at the dream library, feel free to roam and kill for soul weapons before doing so though.
see this pic
Is DLC 2 just the chaos dungeon? And is there any story/lore to be found there if you go deep enough or is it just for the souls and loot? I've gotten wienerblocked by super mimics blocking the way after level 30 like 3 times now.
At floor 180 or so you get a massive lore dump
Yes its DLC2
A lot of lore in some of the floors that feature a library, Also whenever you get a boss floor be sure to beat the boss and then check back the skull where you save. It gives you more background on these bosses.
It might be a bit tough for you as you are now probably
>Thought it was a cutscene for about a half second too long
>go through both games just stomping on everything by being overleveled.
>get to dlc 3
>Get pranked by every encounter.
>every boss just rapes me
>tfw I actually have to learn how to play the game now
>dlc3 also has missable shit and content.
>no guide on how to cheese the bosses.
Have fun, DLC3 is one of the hardest JRPGs out there. Not the hardest, from what I heard that title belongs to Etrian Odyssey, but it's definitely near the top
>no guide on how to cheese the bosses.
Pic related will work on 99% of the bosses in the DLC, just buff/gear smarter.
>DLC3 is one of the hardest JRPGs out there.
It's not that bad.
>Not the hardest, from what I heard that title belongs to Etrian Odyssey
EO can be pretty challenging, but there's still far more difficult series out there than both it and BS.
Mind pointing me towards them?
All dlc3 fights even regular mobs are just puzzle fights. Hope you learned weapon swapping shenanigans though, they make em easier.
Dispel, Anti-crit, Knight-King Sword buff, and Stoneflesh help with some stuff.
Theres always rabbitgun wherever applicable
DLC3 bosses are bullshit, but as always, your DPS is the most important part.
I spent a long while grinding on DLC2 and buying the item to increase my attack to the max.
Then I pretty much shat over most bosses with the Deep Sea Anchor and those multi-hit skills.
Just some bosses have their new mechanics that you gotta counter before you can actually beat them up.
>mfw I see a sinner
I did not realize sparing the beauty and the beast doesn't give you their book, am I fricked
Nah, you can find her again
thanks, I just found her. this game is real good at recontextualizing random shit you see
Just you wait until BS2's endings. The knowledge you learn there recontextualises not only the events of base game BS2, but also BS1
having just seen ending D, as well as opening the door in the library. yeah i can definitely tell I'm in for an even wilder ride
Enjoy, BS2's a much wilder ride though like BS1 it takes a bit to get going. Luckily it doesn't backload all of its plot into the endings at least.
After doing ending C do a normal Cinderella ending again, with the obvious companion
I'm not currently using a guide but I assume ending C is for filling the library, but is there any other way to kill the other characters aside from getting them to 99 and staying at the hotel?
I still have a way to go I think, ending A is definitely for getting all the companions (because I fricked up and didn't know you could save elma) and theres probably an ending for killing literally everyone too
Literally
>Kill
>Rape
B can honestly be ignored. You will absolutely need to see C though, and I'd suggest seeing the character endings if you have the time too.
Ending C is kinda supposed to be done before ending D. BS2 follows directly from ending D, though certain important things are only revealed in C.
D was also added in a later update if I recall.
Unless you go NG+, you need the hotel. Leveling them up to lvl 99 also unlocks their heroine endings, so it's worthwhile. If you need souls, you can kill Bandersnatch or farm rabbits in the Wonderland
Pretty sure once they're in the squad the only way is the hotel, with a few exceptions
Oh also if you really need souls fast for it check the crack in the wall at the main Holy Forest screen a few times
Do the hotelregardless. It's "canon" after all.
I am going to Lorina!
bro she's a doll
Bro shes real and it was real
Anon, I...
But its what really happened, not in GGs domain though, he just copied what happened for real.
Anon, the entire VN is just a copy of some of the torture Mary put Lewis's soul through using her power, the real Lorina was never there.
And by never there, I also mean in the original torture too.
Yes but the events were originally real, possibly grabbed from Lewis's memory, what better way to torture him than making him live his past mistakes and see young Alice again?
>Yes but the events were originally real, possibly grabbed from Lewis's memory
I seriously doubt anything that we see in the VN actually occurred in reality at any point in time. Lewis's recording crying out in agony over the radio on night 3 about if this is even reality, asking if he's a puppet and the gears fricking with him at the end of it give that away I think. Bluebird probably said it best on night 4, his own imagination is what ends up doing him in inside of this hell.
Who could have known the Alice we were looking for was right there all along?
Sure, but why didn't you post Prickett?
Because the Alice we were looking for was Lorina dummy
Well to be fair she does act like a b***h at first, which always turns me off. Thankfully she opens up after increasing the affection and gets really cute and submissive. I guess thats the beauty of the tsundere trope.
Quick! Princess carry!
She better be in BS3!
Ok you guys were right about Red's game
The couple times of her being autistic were alright but it went for way too long
Can't say you weren't warned at least. If nothing else it's interesting seeing just how far EMMM's come as a game designer from it to BS2 DLC 3.
See? We know it's technically the first game in the series, but getting people to start with it would be even more disastrous than getting people to start the DrakeNier series with Drakengard 1. At least that game has some redeeming qualities
I always try to tell people that reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a better use of their time than playing Red's game. It's also more relevant to BS2's plot
Have you heard of the concept of plotge? You know, Saya no Uta, Muv-Luv, Baldr Sky. Nobody plays them for the porn. Same principle here
>inb4 their stories suck
I'm just citing entry-level stuff since that anon's more likely to have heard of them
i felt it necessary to make a blacksouls version
Should have put Grimm's chair he sits on in H in the last panel, and have the dude's body be greyed/blacked out with the panties on his head.
do you have that image? ill put it in
Pick your poison.
1/2
2/2
It's a bit overdesigned, but it fits BS perfectly
The worst part is the sex scene with the wolf. Even though I think she is one of the cool characters, she is forever known as a dog fricker..
Literally, unironically blame Mary for rewriting the original draft of the story to what it was in RHW.
Leaf likes Red
I’ve seen this game shilled here and have been averse to playing it because of the H elements but this thread is making me reconsider
Is it really good enough of an rpg to play despite the fact that its literally a porn game?
It's an insanely wild ride but the ride doesn't start until several endings into BS1
And yes the H scenes are important pussy
It's a plot series, not a gameplay series, though some would argue the second game's third DLC is pretty good for that. The first game is required before playing the second game and it backloads pretty much the entirety of its important plot elements into its endings, you'll want to get all of them and it'll take you somewhere north of 10 hours to do so.
If you avoid porn then you should avoid this game.
Its hardly a porn game, most people who play it to the end and like it dont think the porn was what made the game good.
It has alot of secrets, thats the biggest draw.
To me, one aspect not talked about much here is how much humor EMMM packed into these games. Some scenes are damn hysterical in a warped way
The spirit of eros is lost on this game, it's too dark to make you horny. I also had reservations about it for years, but I played it recently and thought it was incredible. I knew the game was going to be great once I heard the title theme:
It reminds me of many ways of Saya no Uta. There, H-scenes also serve to unnerve you more than anything. It adds to the horror
The game isnt popular because of the porn at all, but if you are averse to sexual stuff then its clearly not for you.
not him but i dislike h stuff and played anyway and liked it, to not miss any hidden dialogue i let h scenes on but cover them with another window and only read the text at bottom.
If these games were ever remade in the future to use something other than RPG Maker, would you rather see a 2D or 3D remake?
>3D remakes
>good
There's already Black Souls in Minecraft, I'd rather see a 2D remake if anything.
A 3d remake with as little changed as possible.
Super Paper Grimm is now in development.
Not them, but I had a fever dream about a BS fangame being done in the 64/TTYD style, replete with weapon and ally swapping. It actually seemed pretty fricking good.
Frick that, I just want to fight bosses like Deep Sea Knight in the dark souls engine. Is that too much to ask for?
>underwater physics coupled with souls engine jank
>boss notorious for OHKOing Black folk that can't dodge, also has literal undodgeable moves
what could go wrong
>What could go wrong
No dubstep.
I feel bad for anyone who plays this game with the "new and improved" music.
Yeah but
Du du du du du duuu
Duu du du duu duu
FILTERED
Objective downgrade for the fight even if it's a good song.
2D of course, with nicer background art/character sprites and with RPGmaker jank removed
BS2 looking like actual Souls games with the visuals and real-time battle system would be a dream come true.
I played the games multiple times for the porn.
Also leaf is best girl.
i can fix leaf
you will be fixed by leaf
no
wait
yes
I have begun to have violent impulses whenever I see an image of Alice, even in unrelated media.
Am I doing something wrong or is this intended?
Yeah you all sayin' like it aint no than' about the porn but how do you suppose I felt after beating my dick raw for over twenty hours of non-stop BS2 marathon gameplay?
Hell yeah I fapped to every scene, multiple times, frickin' a.
New to H-games I take it?
Absolutely not, I'm quite the avid consumer of them.
No I'm not I killed him afterwards and received probably the worst schizophrenic episode a game has given me with those god damn screen transfers making me doubt my own sanity.
Those screen transfer scenes fricked me beyond belief. The first one happened during the second or third room of the slaughterhouse at like 2am. Almost dropped the game immediately when it happened.
I bet you liked Bill the most you gay.
homie yu gey
I was once a pleb, played BS1, didn't get it, the porn sucked it and didn't feel like an H-Game, so I gave up.
The BS2 came out, tried it then quickly realized my mistake, these ar'nt porn games, they're fricking masterpieces.
But then I must've hit 0 sen because now I find that's some damn sexy chicken scratch.
Based, that's how the games are meant to be played. If you didn't jerk off you didn't beat the game.
I think you're in the minority here. Though I have to admit, that while BS1 was unfappable, BS2 had SOME good scenes. Jabber, Jubjub, Mabel and Blackwell... and that's pretty much it
>to every scene
Every single one?! Damn, I guess I am not as much as a coomer as I thought.
Theres only like maybe 3 or 4 h-scenes that almost got me beating my meat but just because it was pandering to my biggest fetishes. I love EMMM but his art just doesnt do it for me.
his scenes were actually pretty good though
my first actual trapfap
should i get ALL ending on bs1 before moving on to bs2? i got ending b and now going to end A, end c seems to be the hardest since you need to kill all the companions i think
>should i get ALL ending on bs1 before moving on to bs2?
At the absolute bare minimum you need C and D.
You are a moron if you don't do ending C followed by ending D. The second game will make no sense without them.
I can understand walking into D like a dumbass, it does happen here from time to time. Choosing to ignore doing one of them is moronic.
I don't think the order you get the endings is particularly important for these games. As long as you get them all, it's fine. Most people just recommend that order so I say it as well.
I always thought it's weird how ending B is likely to be your first one, though instead of calling it ending A.
No, you just need to collect all the fairy tales. Some of them are pretty tricky and you are probably going to have to get everyone to lvl.100
Technically bs2 picks up after ending d but ending d is not going to make sense if you don't do ending c.
but arent all companions part of the fairy tales too? or only red?
You only need to collect the ones listed on the bookshelves.
>No, you just need to collect all the fairy tales.
Think, dodo, what do you need to do to get all of the fairy tales?
Don't spoil it Black person
literally in their post
>end c seems to be the hardest since you need to kill all the companions i think
This (
mfw) was one of the best moments in the game for me and I'd like him to experience it[/spoiler]
They already probably know about the room if they're talking about killing their companions.
btfo'd
ha i did not even realise their tales where not on the list, i just figured it out because on my ng+ run the rotten burg girl got killed at sewers before she could make it at holy forest and dropped one
Library and Black Trial endings are absolutely necessary, should also try to get some companion endings I liked most of them
C is mandatory
D is probably less mandatory but makes a lot more sense once you've played BS2 and leads directly into it
also after
also max your characters after ending D and go talk to the tree in wonderland for a suprise
>D is probably less mandatory
No, in no way is D any less mandantory than C. You absolutely need the context of both.
this might be a dumb question but how do I start a NG+
>BS1
North of the Holy Forest, look for a green orb thing.
>BS2
Library Dream, should be impossible to miss.
>finally finish the library
>the next library section opens up
mfw
You didn't really think they'd be spared did you?
should i play bs2 with or without dlc first?
Doubt you can find a copy without dlc. It's all post-game addon areas anyway, so it makes no difference if it's there.
the link a anon posted here for download of the game comes with both pre dlc one and with dlc one
That one still has DLC 1+2. To be honest, I don't know why it's included in the pastebin. Just grab the full game with all DLC.
forgive me for ever doubting that prickett is best girl
Prickett forgives you! she desperately wants you to forgive her
i've just done fapping to hansel again...
I think that's the only scene that makes you undeniably gay
grantel calling you a sodomite was the funniest thing in the game
I got filtered by the furry prostitute killer but I did get all four endings in BS1 and I enjoyed it.
>I got filtered by the furry prostitute killer
literally just go around him
all of prickett's dialogues hurt even more after ending H
>500 posts in and not a single post of best girl
Let me change that
Someone make a new thread I have an important question.
Just go to /vrpg/ and ask it anyways.
Oh right.
I don't even have an important question.
last for maymay
>tfw waiting for this all day but don't have sound plug in on mobile
Install KurobaEx
Alice will put this thread to sleep
we need a "here breathe in some Alice" / "thank you Alice" edit
