Why the FUCK doesn't Gamefreak release the older games for the Switch Online?
It can't be that hard, right?
Because then they wouldn't be able to charge you 120$ for a remaster that changes a bunch of things no one asked for.
As opposed to charging $60 for literally fucking nothing that wouldn't appeal to chuders because it's not shiny enough
The official reason is because they don't want people using savestates/rewind on them.
Yes, seriously. There's a reason why they only came out on 3DS e-Shop during the console's twilight years with save states removed from the emulator.
What the fuck would save states and rewind even do to break the game? It's fucking Pokemon for fucks sake. At best all it does it make soft resetting for shinies a tad bit faster and they pass those out like candy now anyway. Plus they didn't even exist in gen 1.
>here take my mew
>loads save state
>here take another mew
>loads save state
>hey i'll give you a mew for 2 mew
But seriously, this doesn't matter if they don't fucking make it compatible with home. Just let people abuse their shit for gen 1 roms
not to mention that the mew glitch mew couldnt even be transfered to bank in the first place, while pokemon cloning still worked (at least in gen2)
But you could trade a mew if you jumped through some hoops
how hard could it be to remove a feature? gamefreak are professionals at it by now
Good post
It would be incredibly simple for Nintendo to simply remove the save state/rewind stuff for Pokemon games when opening them in the NSO app
>The official reason is because they don't want people using savestates/rewind on them.
Source for this statement please.
So why exactly couldn't savestates/rewind be disabled for a NSO release? The fact they did it for the 3DS releases shows that they can get away with it.
Rewind actually is disabled for n64, I'm pretty sure
they will do it on pokemon's 30th anniversary in 2026
great
Dude, they cant even release a new raid without it crashing.
The Switch N64 controller isn't even compatible with the accessories.
That's because it's now cheap as fuck to sell them with the rumble pak built in to the unit, as opposed to needing to sell them separately, as no-one would have fucked up the price for controller+rumble pak together from the outset.
I always hated that connector, always had to reset Stadium 1/2 multiple times until it read my game.
Then my Crystal's internal battery died and I lost my save, which also had my Yellow's Mewtwo traded to it at the time.
I'm sad.
