Most of your weapons are fairly standard stuff, but you can modify all of them in a pretty simple, but nice way. (You can put silencers, laser sights, and scopes-even sniper scopes-on just about every gun) But the main draw is the suit. It has all sorts of powers like super speed, super strength, a cloak, and a shield, all of which can be swapped through at will. That said, you have a limited battery to work with, so be wary of that.
It also has a HL2-tier physics engine and most wooden buildings are fully destructible. It also has drivable tanks and military vehicles, one set piece involves you driving a tank.
Combine all of this with the fact that you get to necklift morons in a jungle with fuckheug open levels and you get an extremely kino game. Be warned the last act is very mediocre despite being graphically impressive.

Crysis 2 is more consolized than the first, but the gameplay is fine. Presentation-wise, it's extremely kino due to the presentation. The best way to describe it is to imagine something like the Michael Bay transformers movies in vidya form, and that's basically Crysis 2. Soundtrack is also good.

Just finished episode 5 of Blood on Lightly Broiled for the first time

both the 5th and 7th gens had really good FPS. 6th gen didn't focus on them too much and 8th gen they became battle royales

Opposing Force is a great prequel to Hunt Down The Freeman.

Sin is underrated but got mogged by HL, also tits.

PD, I liked it better than Golden Eye but I won't lie to you neither of them hold up. I think Agent difficulty on a free Sunday is the best way to enjoy it.

Blood is solid, best of the old Build games.
OpFor is a good expac, a tad overrated.
NOLF actually sucks and is carried by its writing.
SoF is okay, gets by on the gore and satisfying guns.
Sin is mediocre and drags on.
Gunman is a forgettable HalfLife mod.
RTCW is super overrated, decent game.
Perfect Dark is great (when played with M/KB and 60fps)
Kingpin is mostly shit.
