Same. Honestly, even if it sucks I will buy it simply because i've never experienced an MMO at it's early days and I'd like to try it.

I haven't played conan exiles in years. I got it when it was early access. How's the game going?

Same blatant cheating but now with added battlepass grind and worse purge mechanics.

          >battlepass grind
i do not understand complaints about BP "grinding"
you can get all 60 levels in a week without much effort

            Anonymous

No the grind isn't difficult, it's more that it is some out of game mechanic encouraging you to do pointless repetitive stuff that isn't well integrated. All for mostly shitty consumables and cosmetics with the only good ones requiring you paying.. At least if you were willing to pay for cosmetics before you could get them right away rather than having to dance for them.

with x10 multiplier you can get levels for easy shit like killing a boss or crafting dragonpowder

Kind of circling the drain with controversialbalance changes and absolute cancer of battle pass monetization. Still reasonably good, though, removal of god bubble and addition of sorcery livened the pvp scene up a little bit.

Can I play this game singleplayer? I don't give a shit about pvp but I like the idea of survival in Conan's world.

        yes
        there are also pve servers

Probably the best way to go about it, actually, the world is surprisingly decent, and there is even a bit of deep lore action going on. Crank the combat difficulty up, maybe tone down the resource costs or raise the gathering speed to lower the economy grind that is based on multiplayer expectations.

        Anonymous

Yeah 100%, I've got 300+ hours in single player only

PvP is fun but can be harrowing at times if you don't know what you're doing

yes, but you want to install mods/fiddle with settings to turn down the grind and at that point its EXTREMELY hard to resist just straight up cheating
        good luck

funcom MMOs are usually pretty quality at launch. their problem is they can't keep their MMOs alive and they don't seem to care about it. abandoned Anarchy for TSW, abandoned TSW for Conan, and are now abandoning Conan for Dune. just don't expect it to last more than a few years regardless of quality.

I'm not the kind of guy that wants to play the same game for 10 years, I'm not defending Funcom's shitty practices but what always made keep distance freom MMO's is that eventually it becomes a chore to play, you can't just keep away for 6 months as everything will change so drastically you have to re-learn a lot of shit. If I can get 2-4 years of a fun experice than it will be worth it

The model they thought for it is unsustainable. You basically fight 24/7 for control of a region, and against you own allys who could you backstack you any moment. 99% of the people will nope out in the first week.

Dude look at these cool sandworms, there is so much devious backstabbing in this intricate political intrigue, woooahhhhh what an epic space opera haha LE HispanicE MUST FLOW hehehe

    >dune in the books
holy shit I'm tripping balls, space doesn't matter fighting doesn't matter nothing matters except I can SEE THE FUTURE. Plot? Fuck that there is no plot, there is no space, there is no sandworms, get ready for 60 hours of abstract nonsense

You what? Aside from the parts involving water of life and Paul’s awakening, which are both past the halfway mark, it’s hardly trippy at all. It gets that way in children and emperor, and everyone knows the wild ride that comes after that, but the first book is focused heavily on politics and interpersonal manoeuvring

The first book spends quite a lot of time on politics, militaty strategies and backstabbing, it only gets abstract towards the end and even then there is still a huge battle described

I liked the movie. Is the next movie going to have interesting politics and worldbuilding too or does it turn into space hippies as described by

The movie will be interesting and action-oriented because it is a movie. They aren't going to let it be boring. Also the first Dune book is probably the most concrete of them all.

        >mfw reading Dune Messiah
What the fuck happened? The quality of storytelling nosedived. I swear the word "prescient" is on every single page

Dune was never about plot or storytelling, it is about Frank Herbert being a drug-fueled autistic savant retard-genius. The series is effectively stream of consciousness political schizo poetry. It only gets stranger from there. Even so, God Emperor of Dune is one of my favorite books and definitely worth sticking it out for.

A big redpill about Dune is that it was only made into a movie/extended intellectual property because studios were trying desperately to churn out sci-fi epics on the coattails of Star Wars' success. They tried to make Dune into something it wasn't with the 1984 movie. Dune was never an epic space adventure for normies, it was always high-concept schizobabble.

It’s going to have to go into at least some detail about the choam company, otherwise they’ll have to completely rewrite the climax.
The source material also has the Harkonen’s threat vastly diminished by the time Paul launches his attack, since the Baron starts to realise just how badly the emperor fucked him, which combined with accidentally treading on a political landmine and being nowhere near as clever as he thinks he is, puts him right on top of Shaddam’s shit list.

Messiah is more of a small novel bridging the gap and setting up Children of Dune, I really liked Messiah though especially the first half or so being basically three people having a conversation and reading body-language and bluffing each other constantly.

    NO.

There is only one good thing in the dune franchise and that's the first book. After that frank goes full retard. Then his son goes full retard. Both the movies suck, the canceled movie would have sucked, the miniseries sucks. The previous game that came out was below mid. It's over. Dune was good once, 60 years ago.
