will old japanese mac games ever get enough attention to get fan-translation one day, in the same way console games?

Survey says no.
Wasn't this game ported to SNES, PS1 and Saturn?
Seems to have been ported to a lot of things
have any recommendations?
Samurai Mech II
Regular mac games don't get attention either.
Because Mac sucks.
Which Mac games should get more attention then?
Sharing the usual repository of nippon Mac shit.

This gets said in every thread but I'll repeat it again since you dekinais never seem to get it:
If you want to play Japan-exclusive games, just learn Japanese. In the time that it takes for even a single game to be translated you could become fluent in Japanese and play all of the untranslated games that you want. Especially if you're into obscure shit that will never be translated like old Mac titles.
Nice comment, thanks anon. Do you know a good resource for PC98 games? The only archive collection I could find last night had very few games in it and I think they were all English patched.
This one from the /jpc/ threads back when we had them. Missing some games but still a nice collection:

anon, I love you!
Learn Japanese, gays.

This is a pretty small collection and it's missing a lot of popular games like Yu-no
YU-NO is in it.

Alright I'm a moron for looking under Y. No Rusty or Touhou though.
Rusty is in C-Lab.zip
Touhou is in doujinHomebrew.zip
I don't like this categorization method, either.
Nah I'll never finish the games people have already translated, which are most of the good ones by now. Do it for free and I might consider applying your patch and dropping the game early from ADHD and adult commitments.
>I'll never finish the games people have already translated
But I'm more interested in the untranslated ones. If the only option is a translation patch then I'm not playing it.
>Learn a completely useless language so you can play 80s computer games that are being (slowly) translated anyways
Lmao no
>the only thing that you gain from learning a language is the ability to play games from a single platform from a single decade
Maybe it's not for you but that mindset is moronic. Learning Japanese quite literally changed my entire life.
Have you ever done something useful with that knowledge?
Yeah, I live in Japan, am married to a Japanese person and work at a Japanese company so life would be pretty shitty right now if I didn't know the language.
Watch zundamon videos.
It's pretty good.
I'm a tall white guy playing vidya and living off gibs in surf city USA. I get Asian poon for free. I don't even have to speak English particularly well
>learn japanese gays
>Learn Japanese, gays.
Okay, where should I start?
namasensei for motivation
just learn hiragana+katakana+grammar+do vocabulary flashcards and read something+listen to podcasts
it will be hard but it will work out
thanks dudes
I actually watched the graduation OVA recently. It was pretty good and very nice looking. In a short time it made me actually rather like the girls quite a bit or at least made me want to see more of them. It's like it was catching the last couple episodes of a cgdct show and I'm a bit sad we didn't get a proper series.
Oh and then there was this weird spinoff where they all became giant robot pilots. It was pretty entertaining. I'd watch that as a longer form series too. The OVA market was just really funny like that back then.
I just remember this being shown on an international channel and my mind being blown because it showed nipples.
makes me think of that one thread back in the day
Which one?
About the tragedy
No.
Absolutely not.
Mac has the worst communities for everything.
It's for people who are afraid of computers and it always has been.
>all this samegayging
you could have just bumped the thread with something useful
Only one is me, schizo. It's just easy to come to. I have a 3 Mac emus set up and I would frick with a translation patch made for it but I among few who would bother.
The most ignorant and unhelpful users of technology modding or translating old software...right.
>Getting idiots to set up a Mac emu or even download a premade zip from archive.org
Rich. It would be neat but I think a lot of hackers would be discouraged by how few people would bother. Christ people bawww about RetroArch and setting up standalones right so they still think hardware is better.
Were there any Apple II or Mac exclusives in Japan?

Anon even links provided here have also Windows versions and the game you have posted is a port. I haven't heard of Japanese Apple II or Mac exclusives before. Most likely it wasn't that big of a thing. So while people might translate that stuff, it most likely won't be soon.
Oh i know, i just want to discuss Mac shit lol
It isn't like other mac threads last that long in /vr/ anyways.
