judging by the cars clothes and what's popular it supposed to be around 80 to 90, the same time frame gta san andreas. Otherwise you will see a lot of emo guys instead of greasers if it sets on early 2000.

            [...]
The timeframe is deliberately left ambiguous, the greasers are from the 50s but the preps are closer to the 70s, they just serve a similar foil to greasers as socs do. The nerds are from the 80s-90s based on the fact they play DND
            [...]
Closest you're getting is Ringo Ishikawa

I don't think so though, because if you go the Dragon's Wing Comics' basement, you can see a late 90's or early 2000 PC in there with a 5:4 or 4:3 LCD screen with a medium sized tower case.

I'm pretty sure promo stuff stated that Bully is set in the 2006-2007 school year, there are computers in the nerd hideout, and some characters mention the internet directly.
also just as a sidenote, Bullworth itself is most likely based on Boston/Massachusetts, since it's stated that the academy is located in New England

Also the music themes were fricking awesome, I liked the Townies theme

A game where you play as a dude and you are allowed to beat up women and little girls is straight up unthinkable today. Rockstar know they could never make a proper Bully game again in today's social and policital climate

Just like cops show up and kill you if you shoot peds in GTA, meanwhile in The Witcher 3 for instance Geralt won't swing his sword if you're looking at a civilian and you get a "you can't attack this target" or whatever little message
In Bully you get busted for beating up women but you can get away with it and the game doesn't stop you, it's something you can do

            Anonymous

you'll get kicked in the balls if you try to grapple a woman your size or a little girl (makes sense), I think you can pull off a combo on an adult woman before she pushes you off a grapple, similar to how you can shove a prefect/adult into a locker or trashcan if you're close/fast enough

          >A game where you play as a dude and you are allowed to beat up women
Rockstar literally founded the genre about beating up random people, you can still beat up women in RDR2. You can even hogtie them and carry them away, or shoot them in the face, or stab them in the neck. You're making shit up

Rdr2 is most woke of all Rockstar games . You can't defeat strong alethic woman in theatre. If punch your way and knock her down script start's drain your health and stamina lol. That women rights demonstration in southern state of all state's

Willful misinterpretation of media is nothing new, Bully already got into a lot of controversy because politicians assumed it was about something that it wasn't. Rockstar could release it unedited today and that wouldn't change
        >game is about stopping bullying and using your strength to protect the weak
        >everyone assumes it's about beating up high schoolers for fun

No, and I'm glad that's the case.
Bully was perfect as it is. It only needed a slight graphical & QoL update, which it got in the Scholarship Edition.

And this is the 2022 game industry and 2022 Rockstar we're talking about here. Just like nobody wants to see nuValve release "Half-Life 3" at this point, I don't think anyone wants to see "Bully 2" (and if they think they do, they're wrong). It'll be defanged, microtransationized, bloated, soulless and boring.
