Okatsu
Mumyo
>Best game out of the three
>Worst character
Why did you had to post the ugly as shit companion
>hating an immortal tomboy sisterwife
>hating on some ugly piece of shit
fixed
Fuck you. She has the cutest face.
>Mumyo
>ugly
Look anon, you may dislike her brash tomboy personality but she's super cute
>brash tomboy personality
You mean her lack of reactions to anything?
>I only hunt yokai, I have no interest in fighting humans
That's the extent of her character. Ironically, Okatsu and Hong Jing are both actually spunky.
>I only hunt yokai, I have no interest in fighting humans. So let's go kill Yokai forever, honey.
Absolutely based. Literally the perfect wife for Hiddy.
Cope
That mole looks like a shitstain
she looks familiar. Was she based off an actress?
The two main girls in niohs are based off real actresses which is why they couldnt return in the dlcs.
Plebeian taste
She's an immortal just like hide
She's literally the worst girl in the whole game by far, even when Okuni and Raikou had way less screentime
She's best girl and always by your side
Rachel
I still don't understand why she shows up after the timeskip and hasn't aged at all.
Her necklace is part of Sohayamaru, a legendary sword that grants immortality. She'll live forever alongside you hunting Yokai for eternity.
She gives her piece of the Basedahomaru to you to seal Otakemaru. I always assumed she just aged well and became immortal again when you gave her her medalliom back
She has a piece of Sohayamaru plus she has a guardian spirit associated with immortality like William's.
You're a demigod so both of you are essentially immortal.
Oichi was cuter
I can't disagree
Did she and Hide..?
based
wo long is a 6/10
Nioh games really have the best girls by far
Reminder that she died while Hiddy was asleep
A sad reality of an immortal
Hiddy can time travel and get any pussy he wants
>he
Maybe in your game
Tori gates appearing to summon your Hiddy like in multiplayer when you access the first dlc means every Hide coexist
which means massive selfcest
>he
You take that back, ser!
Femhiddy is the best Hiddy
lol no
>Hardest boss of the DLC is the first boss
?
She's a child!
I like her staff. Also, does this fucking game really not restock arrows automatically?
>Also, does this fucking game really not restock arrows automatically?
Yeah, and the only way to access the storehouse is at the hub.
What kind of ass backwards shit is team Ninja doing?
H0w the hell did that make it past playtesting?
>he thinks we even get playtesters anymore
Yeah that's fucking stupid, they should refill on death or resting
Just had some coop where I was chasing away the dragon in the capital and when he was in the fleeing animation the fag host rested, reseted the whole health of the little shit and pretty much made me waste stuff for nothing
Wouldn't be a problem if when the host rested my shit got restocked
>you get to live hundreds of years in the cultivator village together with the most beautiful girl in the land, surrounded by cool mythical nature
Assuming you don't both job at some point during the upcoming war of course.
Though other than dealing with the demons and elixir abuse proper cultivators should avoid petty mortal politics as much as possible.
physical resistance on armor is way more important than defense. 334 defense, 8.1% physical resist takes 319 damage, upgrade that exact armor to 391 defense, same PR, takes 318 damage. 280 defense, 9.9% PR takes 310 damage from the same attack.
I have around 25% physical resistance and Lion's Roar
It's actually insane how much punishment i can take on ng+
yeah I started messing around with buffs on top of the 685 def, 23.4% PR set, slapped 7.6% damage taken on embed slots, decreased damage taken on critical deflect and the earth wizardry that prevents stagger, damage taken was under 200 on the same attack. the earth shell spell sucks though, it still gets broken in one attack no matter how much res I stack.
holy shit, added lion's roar to this mix. 106 damage. with nothing equipped that attack does 357. 70% reduction, I bet it can go tankier.
I'm using lion's roar during invasions and a critical blow against me did about 25% of my HP bar
It's retarded
Has anyone tried using Stone Attack Power + Elemental Damage stacking and spamming Roar in PVP? It's not impossible to deflect, but it always catches people off guard. I'm wondering if you can get it's damage up to a play where it's at least somewhat threatening.
I'd try it myself but I'm at work.
I'll try adding stone attack power and seeing if that changes the damage reduction in a bit. Right now I'm trying to achieve immortality with engulfing inferno and A- wizardry healing.
I've used it against several excessively passive coopers. The damage is not great, about 50-70 stone damage per roar, but if you're patient you can literally kite them to death because it has enormous range. Certainly one of the best earth spells and one of the best invasion tools for particular situations.
hongjing on deez nutz
Look at this horse. Really take it in, and then post your builds.
Even in the ROTTK novels, the horses were like superhuman creatures. Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei vs Lu Bu read like one of those horse battles from Sengoku Basara.
It was more about how horrifying the anatomy is, honestly. You don't really notice it on Red Hare because he's fluffy and fat, but these devs really suck at horses. Brings back ptsd about Dynasty Warriors mounts.
China valued their horses especially against a lot of nomadic barbarians they fought at the time. So much so, they went to war over a specific breed.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_the_Heavenly_Horses
Sure, I'm bored enough while downloading Bleak Faith to make this shit.
>downloading Bleak Faith
you poor bastard
why would you want to downgrade yourself from wo long so badly
I've already completed Wo Long, got my full set of gear. I'm pretty much just waiting for the DLC.
I've also been invading.
https://streamable.com/3h45zb
My one and only team up invasion.
I figure I can return it within 2 hours if it's shit.
I like how you and your partner are Aryans.
The true Invader masterrace.
>96 Earth
Dude. Get Lions Roar. Shit will make you immortal with your already tanky armor and build.
Why don't I ever invade people who don't know how to deflect?
Those dudes were kicking my shit in for a good five minutes before I got that helper. I couldn't hit them at all, I was just spamming my poison hoping I could slowly wear them down, but that was literally the end of the level right there, so I decided to record my likely death scene at the hands of that "gank". Once the second invader appeared, they just panicked. Especially when we both rushed them and instantly killed one of their people.
https://streamable.com/uz15e9
Here's another video where a single host is beating me and then, I turn it around almost instantly within only a few seconds.
Wait I though Wo Long dropped the loot system. I like buildtism, if I loved Nioh would I like this?
Like another anon said, it's closer to Sekiro, but it still has the Loot Autism from Nioh.
However, stats in this aren't as important as in Nioh. You can still get powerful gear combinations. But you can't do something like Immortal Living Weapon from Nioh 1.
>it still has the Loot Autism from Nioh
They toned it down a lot, thankfully
I prefer Nioh's loot insanity.
Part of the reason why I love that game. Speaking of which, I think Last Epoch got a big content patch recently. Might go play that again.
I also like the loot system in Nioh but it wouldn't really fit into this game imo.
>triple drop rate
now wo long has nioh's system.
Only if it's the Nioh 2 post all updates and DLC final difficulty Underworld loot insanity. The rest of the experience can stay gone.
no it's much worse now, especially when combined with the progression/hub/blacksmith changes.
the only thing toned down is loot frequency, everything as far as build requirements go is the same making it worse overall.
watch the dlc, right now wo long is in a pretty shit state as far as ability to build goes. when they add martial art customization and increased drop rates from ng+++ it's going to be much better.
who even goes back to play the dlc in these games? by the time it drops 90% of players wont be interested when they could have just released at least ng++ and better buildtism in the base game to keep people interested for longer
>who even goes back to play the dlc in these games?
Me?
>the point
>your brainlet head
yeah, I wish they'd stop removing fucking quality of life and blacksmith features to readd in dlc.
Need to replace dmg amp for power gain but the gem eludes me. I'm also missing the bonus ammo on the accessories.
he a big boi
looks like a normal sized horse standing next to above average chinks
illusionary shell is fucking broken
only if you somehow with 40 points in earth completely ignore any other aspect of earth. damage to it applies before any resistances, with the buffs up that take 106 damage from the monkey's bitchslap shell breaks and I take 20 damage still.
DMC5 bosses are way more intricate and well designed lol dude.
Only Vergil, Urizen 3, and Cavaliere Angelo felt tight. The rest were either ok, punching bags, or outright bad.
Is it based or cringe? I like the Rot3K Chinkshit.
It's based. Best take on Diaochan in a while.
it is pretty cool, one of the chaddest Dong Zhou i have seen
Fucker caught me offguard with those knives, tho I wish he threw bombs like that old Spider teapot fuck from Nioh.
Sengokujidai > Romance of the three kingdoms
Weeb gay
Go wrestle naked with Nobunaga, seems you would've enjoyed it as much as him
>Go wrestle naked with Nobunaga
Hehe well don't mind if I do then
NG+ Zhang Liao is brutal.
>Nioh got me interested in sengoku
>Long Johnson made me interested in 3kingdom
3K is the only decent thing to come out of China.
Water margin>>>>>>>>>>> three kingdoms
To be fair chinese ancient history is pretty entertaining even if most of it is over the top shit they came up with
Modern china on the other hand...
I always find it interesting how RoT3K is popular in Asia, yet the rest of Asia hates China.
>Not being interested in them either fron manga, anime or KT's previous games to begin with
God damn. And then again I'm not even surprised when wo long is unironically the first exposure to rotk for most anons here.
>KT's previous games
omega force has been fucking up DW for so long people that never played a good one wouldn't even be underage banned.
DW8XL is perfectly fine as an entry point.
forgive me for not realizing they had a singular good entry in the last 17 years
Anyone who is aware of dw or rotk would have known about dw8xl. You dont just lose track of a familiar franchise because you stopped playing them.
considering I played them couch co-op with a friend and 6+7 were that bad, yeah I did
How is the PC port?
>play dynasty warriors
>spend 3 hours on wikipedia piecing together the story
Don't they include excepts from the articles in mission intros?
Yeah, but early DW games are pretty light with the narrative. The intros basically just
>Here's the year
>Here are your allies and enemies
>Got it? Good, now go genocide some east asian
It's not until DW5 that they have a clearer narrative structure.
yes but I wanna know who wang dong and cao pi were and what they did during the rebellion of 100 heavenly rice pickers
Tits too low
if that anon asking about how to stop getting the baby cast of heaven's rage is around I think I figured it out. if you tap it once it only casts the two bolt, if you spam the shit out of it you get the mega cast.
Ding Dong.
>having insane amounts of difficulty with that fucking fire Axe guy because his particle effects are shitting up my entire screen and I can't tell when I'm supposed to deflect
>summon someone to help
>he does not but lions roar and holds up block, only deflecting red attacks
>makes the fight a literal joke
It's actually kinda cool that this dude was doing a "tank" type build.
>Hong Jing
What the fuck is this racist name???
You just know a wh*te man came up with it...
I'm so sick of this toxicity.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tao_Hongjing
>79 years
That's actually pretty impressive for that time period
She's 紅晶, though.
Reminder that all other Team Ninja girls will either die off or become boring in their immortality, but the Senji bloodline will eternally keep birthing 11/10 girls who will each improve their family craft drastically to greater Yokai killing heights and stay loyal to you forever.
Team Ninja is so fucking based.
>"My dolly".
Lion's roar seems to make you immune to grapple damage. I don't know if this a bug or on purpose but it happens every time. Just another reason why it's super OP
Chinese women were built for my cock specifically.
I want to see my nioh 2 and wo long girls getting penetrated all the way through and them cumflated to death
Is NG+ very hard if I don't want to deal with gear farming autism?
Gear farming barely matters. What matters more is having a competent build with a self-synergising magical kit.
I have 12 random 5s gear and I'm 80% finished with NG+ missions, and that's with the dragon and luck on gear I already have. I beat demon Liu Bei just now and I think I'm done. Drop rates are terrible.
I have 19 at the same position as you and I never really bothered aiming for them with equipment.
YWNBAC
>you will never be a chinese
>dumped into earth virtue for heavy armour
>all the heavy stuff sucks
🙁
Wo long suck ass. Is Nioh 2 worth a try?
If you really didnt like it at all then chances are you wont like Nioh either since Wo Long is like a retard baby version of Nioh with completely gutted combat system and weapon variety, but the core gameplay is very similar
>the core gameplay is very similar
Not even.
>the core gameplay is very similar
Bro, Wo Long Johnson doesn't even have stances switching, Iai moves, and Ki fluxing. Almost nothing about the core gameplay is similar.
Everything about the gameplay apart from combat mechanics is similar to Nioh you tard, the only thing different is lack of overworld map after completing a mission and travelling between missions from a bonfire instead of the map
>Everything about the gameplay apart from combat mechanics
>apart from the combat mechanics
Then what the fuck do you consider core gameplay, you retard? Just travesting the stages? Might as well call this game similar to Metroid then.
You must be really dumb. Core gameplay loop is identical to Nioh minus the map thing I mentioned.
no one knows what the fuck you are talking about
if the coregameplay isnt the fucking combat what is it
theres loot and you attack enemies?
Just leave the thread then, you both are stupid filtered gays.
Nioh 2 is infinitely better than Wo Long, it's not even funny.
>Wo long suck ass. Is Nioh 2 worth a try?
Filtered.
holy shit Zhang Liao was a fun fight
>no one posted the actual best girl in the series
Go home to your wife, William. You're drunk.
It's rude to call Hanzo his wife.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with marrying your Japanese ninja boyfriend and raising the kid you had with some girl together.
You didnt either
Should I post the full version? Hmm
Yes
>gets kicked out of the series
>doesn't even appear at the Wirriam house scene with his son
It's so weird.
Happens when you use a real person to model a character
Hopefully that means mumyo won't appear in the next game, if there is one instead of a new ip totally not set in the same world like it happened with wo long
Wasn't she an idol of some sort? She probably got Pregnant. Japs can't handle it when their Idols have a husband.
No, this is just what happens when you're using celebs as your models, the moment you can't match their agency rates, they'll just pulled them out without thinking twice.
iirc it wasn't her model but her VA that was on maternity leave
>We won't get nioh 3 where you have to go to Spain and England to unfuck the mess they made after abusing amrita powers against each other
both wrong
>
>bring back maria's model
>bring back maria's sword, you can even use it yourself (as a 2kat for some reason)
>but no maria rematch
i dont get it
>bring back maria's model
It's actually a different model. She looked way better in 1.
>but no maria rematch
Recycled content is bad, or so I've heard.
Team Ninja recycles everything but they didn't recycle the best girl's fight.
They really should've at least recycled best girl Yuki-Onna's fight
they recycled several boss fights in the dlc, white tiger, nue, etc
>design a Swede
>call her a Spaniard
Bravo Team Ninja
>design a swede
doesn't look brown to me
HOLY FUCK
I JUST LEARNED THE FUCKING SECRET SAUCE FOR PVP
ENHANCED DEFENSE (early earth spell) DOES NOT STUN YOU WHEN YOUR ATTACKS ARE PARRIED EVEN WHEN PERFORMING MARTIAL ARTS
I assumed enhanced defense purely meant you would armor through all non-heavy attacks but no it prevents you from getting stunned by deflects too. This is so fucking big unironically, this means you can now pressure people in 1v1s and create actual mixups with your strings. If they block, you get a bunch of blue stuff. If they parry, they're vulnerable to you varying your timing with attacks to hit them.
>lightning bolts you
what now earth fag?
deflect duh
so does having an earth buff make you more susceptible to lightning?
No, having a buff of the opposing element means that it'll be instantly dispelled if hit by it.
So earth buffs are instantly removed if hit by any source of lightning damage for example
Earth Chads... We can't stop winning.
I'm actually lowering my hybrid build that uses imposing slab as my main attack from 40 earth to 35. Keeps heavy armor on mid agility, lion's roar doesn't need stone power to reduce damage. engulfing inferno does the same damage at the same attack but costs less spirit, casts faster, and heals more with recover hp on wizardry.
I really wish we had more slots. I want fiend vanquisher there too
Thanks for the info, I'll see if this makes it playable later
Can't be fucked making a webm, so I just uploaded it to streamable.
And yeah, you're right. It's pretty good.
I didn't bother trying to use any tactics or skill in this invasion just to test what you said. Did nothing but spam attack and yeah, it's effective. It's not 100% immunity from stagger and you can still be Critical Hit, but if you play it safe with this, you can do some pretty terrifying shit.
>It's not 100% immunity from stagger and you can still be Critical Hit
If you mean critical deflect, that only happens if it would max out your spirit an exhaust you, I think. I've definitely done MA's that don't get critical deflects from enemies when I have the buff on.
I noted earlier that for some reason you don't take damage when grappled if you have the roar buff too which is pretty fucking useful.
Seriously, combine enhanced defense + lion's roar and you're just gonna tear through people. I tried to make hammer work but it's awful, definitely use something faster
>Chinks have always been bloodthirsty backstabbers but somehow it's funny when they did it 2000 years ago
In the original demo people complained about the tight parry window but the real issue is that the enemy attack animations are hard to read.
Enemies have awkward, delayed attacks where the windup is clear but the point where you're supposed to react isn't. Now we have an extended parry window to deal with this which makes everything a bit too easy.
Is that what happened? I thought it was odd I wasn't eating shit with every parry attempt
yeah they changed the parry window due to player feedback
of course the reason people played a parry centric game with a bunch of awkward delayed animations and concluded that the animations weren't a problem is that years of soulslop has conditioned them to think that anything that can be overcome by banging your head against a wall until you internalise a bunch of specific timings for every enemy and boss in the game is good design
what i'm saying is dark souls 3 was such a piece of shit game that it's actually ruining games made 7 years later
in attack animations there is the windup, attack, and recovery. in a parry centric game the part you need to react to is the attack part, the windups being awkward and delayed obscures when the player is expected to react which means a tight parry window becomes doubly punishing
as a counter example, look at the red attacks in wo long. these attacks can vary drastically in length but they're all clearly telegraphed and they all indicate when you have to respond with the additional red flash and sound effect before they hit. i'm not saying regular attacks have to be this explicit but if the red attacks are perfectly designed around wo long's combat then the regular attacks go in the complete opposite direction
that's not to say delayed attacks are completely inexcusable, throwing in a few every so often can make for an interesting challenge, but when even common enemies have awkward timings on their swings it's gets tiring, and making the parry as generous as it is defeats the purpose while also slowing the game down
Anon, I really think you're overanalyzing nothing here. The timing for regular attacks is 100% consistent, it is when the attack would hit you or very slightly before it. If we use your example, the delay (or entirely lack thereof) beforehand is completely irrelevant because it works off the attack part. When the swing happens, time it against when it would hit. Nothing obscure about that.
Red attacks are the only ones inconsistently timed, but as you already explained they're completely fair because of other factors outside of the animations.
>he windups being awkward and delayed
Stopped reading there. They aren't. You can't just claim stuff like that without examples
why would a big tiger pull back its claw then hold it exactly long enough for you to block/dodge before swiping? why would an enemy jump up in the air then float in the air for a second or two then plunge?
Post actual examples. learn to webm. Break down exactly why you think an animation is bad with video evidence. I can wait.
if you didn't reach the same conclusion just from playing the game then there's literally no way i could convince you. it's one of the most noticable features of these kinds of games ever since dark souls 3 so maybe you're just used to it at this point?
i'm not making a realism argument
the answer to both question is that from software did it and team ninja are just thoughtlessly copying their games
>if you didn't reach the same conclusion just from playing the game then there's literally no way i could convince you.
This is because you know you're wrong. I was able to fully understand the telegraphs of the attacks, with a few rare examples. I did not feel the game was giving me bad info or poor animations that made me miss deflects and dodges.
This is literally a skill issue on your part. I want you to find a boss (not named aoye because he is poorly animated and nobody will defend him) in the game you had trouble with and break down at least 3 of their attacks. Explaining what parts you felt make the animation bad or misleading which makes people mistime their parries.
If you want an example of a bad animation then webm related is an example from my playthrough of ER. The animation has the enemy spin around at a consistent pace then right as it gets to the side it slams down immediately to the hit the player in 1 fucking frame. This is an example of bad animation.
what makes you think i had trouble with the game? dude the argument i am making is that the game is too easy because the attacks are awkwardly timed and people who played the demo falsely identified the parry window as the issue when it was the enemy attack animations making the parry needlessly awkward to time, team ninja uncritically took this feedback on board meaning we now have a game where parrying is too easy to compensate
you did not "fully understand the telegraphs of the attacks", you played a game where the parry window is absolutely fucking enormous which is why it feels like you had no problems
>what makes you think i had trouble with the game?
Complaining that the animations are hard to read is a skill issue, especially when you completely fail to show examples and properly explain animations you think are bad and hard to read. I had no trouble reading the animations. Lu Bu was easy mode because I was easily parrying his shit, with the exception of his running grab.
>because the attacks are awkwardly timed
You have still yet to define how.
>you played a game where the parry window is absolutely fucking enormous which is why it feels like you had no problems
I beat all Nioh's and SoP. The animations in this game are of the exact same quality dude. You're complaining they're bad but provide no concrete examples with proof. You just keep using WORDS WORDS DUDE TRUST ME UHH DUDE A TIGER JUMPING DOESN'T MAKE SENSE BRO
can you grasp the idea that someone can play a game and disagree with design decisions without it being due to that person having a lack of skill in the game? in this case i am literally shitting on the game because its ***TOO EASY*** and you're getting stuck posting the same worthless reply you probably post in response to any criticism of a game you like
>I had no trouble reading the animations.
how do you know this for sure? did you play the original demo? did you parry 100% of attacks with no issues in the orinal demo? the parry window was changed to be extremely generous in the final release after feedback from the demo. do you not think it's possible that the animations have poor readability for a game designed around parrying, but the fact that you can press the button like an entire second too early and get away with it might be skewing your impression of how big an issue this is/was?
>can you grasp the idea that someone can play a game and disagree with design decisions without it being due to that person having a lack of skill in the game?
Can you grasp the idea that claims should be backed up with actual evidence and analysis? Because you've had a severe lack of proving anything about animations having awkward timings and there's no point in you to go on and on and WORDS WORDS WORDS without anything that actually back ups your claims. I already gave you the step by step and here you are, not doing that but arguing about semantics because you got your feefee's hurt because I implied you're bad at the game.
why would i put any effort in to providing evidence when you're clearly an ESL retard who can't read my fucking posts
half the thread is you going "skill issue" to me when i'm calling the game too easy, why should i think you would even watch a webm i posted? not that i need to post one any way because the claim that the attacks are awkwardly timed and delayed is self evident and you're just being a pedant
>why would i put any effort in to providing evidence
I DON'T KNOW ANON, WHY WOULD YOU SPEND 6 POSTS OVER THE COURSE OF 3 HOURS ARGUING WITH SOMEONE THAT CAN'T BE PROPERLY ARGUED WITHOUT EVIDENCE?
unironically kys
Unironically git gud at video games and learn how to make real analysis you buttlicker.
>why would a big tiger pull back its claw then hold it exactly long enough for you to block/dodge before swiping?
It isn't a tiger. It's a demon created when a human devoured by a tiger fuses with it's spirit. That's why it occasionally stands completely upright to walk like a human, and why it has an entire person on it's model too.
>why would an enemy jump up in the air then float in the air for a second or two then plunge?
Because this game about magical martial arts, immortality, demons and DBZ ki isn't 100% adhering to real world physics or combat. It's a shocker I know, I was surprised when I found out too.
Except they never did shit like this anywhere near as often in Nioh despite having just as much fantastical aesthetics there.
because nioh is set in japan, which is much more sensible and less retarded
>Except they never did shit like this anywhere near as often in Nioh
Alright, you are 100% taking the piss. Do you not recall the Ninja Yoki? Magatsu Warriors? Ippon Datara? Tesso? Namahage? Do I even need to go on?
>pretending those were anywhere near as bad as the enemies in Wo Long or that Nioh didn't give you way more options to deal with them besides one button deflect retardation
>pretending those were anywhere near as bad as the enemies in Wo Long
No, they were worse. If you at all struggle with the tigers doing delayed or unclear attacks, Magatsu Warriors would be an insurmountable wall for you. To say nothing of Yasha, the named super Yasha, the old men yokai or fucking Itsumade.
>The alternative options count in Nioh, but not in Wo Long because I say so
You are an idiot.
>why would a big tiger pull back its claw then hold it exactly long enough for you to block/dodge before swiping?
because the animation is telegraphing a particularly strong attack
>why would an enemy jump up in the air then float in the air for a second or two then plunge?
because this is a quintessential part of chinese aesthetics, retarded as it may be
ARE YOU BLIND? Nioh, SoP, and Wo Long have really good telegraphs and attack animations. I really don't know how you can claim they're hard to read. Like seriously, how can you claim that? On what grounds are they "hard to read" give a fucking example. There are handful that suck but it's pretty rare
He's completely fucking right, are YOU blind? Animations have to give a clear indication of the moment of impact at least 300ms before they go active to be properly readable by sight instead of just memory.
Sorry you're an old man.
>are YOU blind?
Clearly not because I can read the animations perfectly fucking fine.
Mashing buttons at random and succeeding enough times to clear the game due to the massive parry window is not 'reading the animations'
holy cope dude
>n-no you're bad even though I can't read the animations >:(
>The animation work is fine because I only got hit 30% of the time!
Nice animation example bro you're really showing me how right you are
But it does really, since almost every single one is parried at the moment it hits your character. The only exceptions are things like most grabs and ranged red flashes, both of which have a secondary flash effect that tells you the exact moment to press the button. You couldn't get more obvious unless they added a button prompt in the middle of the screen.
It's still inconsistent as fuck.
Wo long ching chong ping pong
do you think Lu Bu gooned up in her a few times?
Just finished the game.
Only hard bosses were Lu Bu, Zhang Liao rematch, and the final boss. Everything else about the game was a cakewalk.
I went hard in Nioh 1 minmaxing for days, over 500 hours all difficulties and the same in Nioh 2 but not quite as hard and i don't really have much interest to even do NG+ with Wo Long.
I'm going to try this again
I don't understand magic.
I want to use the earth spike spell
I want to use 'something' to give me good ranged damage. Like equal to a melee light attack.
What the fuck do I do? Do I just pump earth and let's say water? Or does elemental damage scalme from shit other than their elements?
>Or does elemental damage scalme from shit other than their elements?
Put earth perks on ur gear
>I want to use the earth spike spell
Use the wall one. It's the earth spike spell, but multiplied by like 5 and it's a lot better.
>I want to use 'something' to give me good ranged damage
Earth is typically aligned with Metal simply because Earth weapons tend to be Hammers and Axes. Not ALWAYS, but if you want to go Axe or Hammer, go metal and get Poison. Poison is good. It keeps your debuffs up permanently.
>Or does elemental damage scalme from shit other than their elements?
You can get stats on your gear to buff elemental damage.
>Earth is typically aligned with Metal simply because Earth is weak to Wood which is weak to Metal
ftfy
Depends what weapon you want to use.
Wood + earth scales on a few weapons and the basic lightning spell does decent damage if your wood is high + you get access to all the support skills.
Try as I might, I simply can't turn off Zhang Liaos lightning when I fight him. With Lu Bu you could just lob an ice rock at him and it's gone.
throw the poison aoe anon, the cloud one or the one which spreads on the floor, you will see how good that is at stopping the lighting.
You can break his buff by spirit breaking him, but you can't turn off his living weapon stuff I think. Easier to just dodge behind him for most attacks than to fight normally or try to cancel the elements.
gem in full block for elemental attack
people are saying the 1st boss is one of the hardest bosses in the game. is that true? please say it's not because he was easy as fuck. if that's true i'm uninstalling this trash
youtubers and streamers aren't people, don't listen to their opinions.
Play the fucking game and form your own opinion.
>play game for 20 minutes
>turn it off and come to Ganker to shitpost
have a nice day.
Not really, he's just a parry check
multi-millionaire making streamer took 4 hours to beat him then claimed the game was badly designed so yeah. People are bad at the game and will always be bad at video games but think otherwise because they beat dark souls.
Retards don't know you can block everything but Red atracks
What pronouns did you guys pick
I don't even remember, the entire game only uses second person to directly refer to the player character.
I meant I want to use Earth but what is a good element to pair with it that does ranged damage that isn't utter shit? and also is a proper range and not like the fucking melee range shit
Like when the boss decides to rape a wall on the other side of the screen, I want a spell for that moment instead of trying to waste 4 seconds running over and having it turn around and bitch slap me
Wait there are invasions in the game? When? Are they like nioh where they're npcs or are they players?
They're both NPC's and players. But players can only invade where an NPC is supposed to invade you. So if you get invaded, 9/10 times it's going to be an NPC. Through my whole playthrough, I only got invaded once.
I am too dumb to understand what makes an armor good in this game, can I get away with just using whatever has the bigger number?
>Heavy Armor
High Defense (Take less DMG)
>Light Armor
High Agility (Better Deflect Timing)
If you're really good, use Light Armor. If you're getting one shot, you're not really good. Use Heavy Armor. If you decide to go online and do PVP, use Heavy Armor (because lag will fuck you over)
>can I get away with just using whatever has the bigger number?
Yes. don't worry about it but just know that upgrading gear and putting effects on gear is really easy in this game compared to nioh. You can take the first piece of gear you take and easily upgraded to the highest grade possible and the only think you'll miss out on is more effects on the gear pieces (which is what rarity does)
why am i not getting invaded after day 1, i dont think i am too far ahead (ch5 ng+)
Supreme slowpoke here what are the more fun jobs to try and get unlocked first in stranger of paradise?
What's a good heavy armor set to use? The set bonuses kinda seem like shit? I'm using a spear and just using yuan shao's set since the start
So do we like the game or not Ganker? It's hard to get a consensus with this one.
yes but not as much as the last three games
it's a solid 7
solid 7/10 for me
I like it. I prefer Nioh, but this is okay. Maybe... A 7/10
Would be an 8 for me if;
>DLC introduces a greatsword
>saves flags on NG+ and onward
>add some QOL changes for menus, UI, etc. etc.
Niohfans who haven't played this or only played the demo will say they hate because it's less complex than Nioh
Frommorons hate it because YOU CAN'T MAKE A GAME BETTER THAN FROMSOFT!!!
PC "master race" players hate it because it has performance issues on some hardware
Ultimately, it's good. It's not as varied or deep nor as well polished as Team Ninja's previous works but it's still better than a lot of other ARPGs on the mark and will probably be much better after all DLCs are out.
>It's not as varied or deep nor as well polished as Team Ninja's previous works
Deep in gaming is a nebulous term. Nioh isn't deep like many fanboys think it is. That's because they confuse a million ways to do the same thing as deep. Hell, Nioh 1 is deeper than Nioh 2 because its special effects are stronger, allowing for specific builds to be more extreme creating different ways to approach enemies. I haven't played Wo Long because I'm waiting for all the DLC to come out before I do, but if the combat has lots of options that force you to express mechanics differently, then that is what you call deep.
>That's because they confuse a million ways to do the same thing as deep.
Oversimplifying and overgeneralizing like that doesn't make your argument look good.
>Hell, Nioh 1 is deeper than Nioh 2 because its special effects are stronger, allowing for specific builds to be more extreme creating different ways to approach enemies.
>but if the combat has lots of options that force you to express mechanics differently, then that is what you call deep.
You also contradict yourself here, because the perceived "increased strength of builds and effects" lowers what is forced onto the players.
>Oversimplifying and overgeneralizing like that doesn't make your argument look good.
But that IS what is happening. I play fighting games and main a character who has over 300 moves for example. His schtick is confusion because of how many moves screws with the reaction of opponents, but at the core he's just a short range 50/50's rushdown. There is nothing deep about it, just a fun knowledge check like playing a guitar.
>You also contradict yourself here, because the perceived "increased strength of builds and effects" lowers what is forced onto the players.
No I didn't, you've interpreted it wrong. Perhaps if you switch combat and mechanics in the latter sentence you might get it.
Nioh 2's perception of depth rest solely on yokai canceling. That isn't depth, that's a fulcrum.
You do realize attacks in Nioh 2 still have substantially different properties, especially in regards to blocking, life and ki damage, etc.? All that is still there, and individual yokai skills can be gauged just like active skills (ex. oni-bi are safe because of their fast recovery and give your weapon an elemental buff (more on that later), onyudo is flexible because it inherits the current element of your weapon and has a high hit count, waira lets you burrow underground for a period of invulnerability before its attack, gyuki has hyper armor, will stagger enemies no matter their status, and launches humans, etc. etc.). Hopefully that doesn't require an explanation. Let's also look at some more significant mechanical changes.
First is the dark realm and anima. Dark realm makes yokai far stronger, oftentimes giving them access to new moves or adding properties to others, while simultaneously nerfing the player's ki. However, it also strengthens the player's yokai component by multiplying all anima gain. This means that in addition to the general utility of yokai ability's animation canceling, it's a vital opportunity to provide ki an opportunity to regenerate and use yokai abilities by their own merits. Depending on what skills and passives you have in addition to the enemy, it may vary whether you want to fight in the dark realm or not.
(1/2)
You've completely ignored everything I've said and created your own fiction about what depth is (meta), which is nothing more than the equivalent of playing a musical instrument.
Let's go through that, actually.
>Deep in gaming is a nebulous term
>special effects are stronger, allowing for specific builds to be more extreme creating different ways to approach enemies
>There is nothing deep about it, just a fun knowledge check
>Nioh 2's perception of depth rest solely on yokai canceling
So you start by saying that what is considered depth is arbitrary, completely defeating the point of your attempt at an argument. I have established that the new mechanics and tools do tend towards variety, and additionally that yokai skill cancels are essentially inconsequential to that. Let's look at the example you gave earlier for the remaining point.
You don't actually explain what expressing mechanics is. In your example, you show how a build achieves a certain effect. It does affect how you play, but it doesn't require skill. That is a strategy, or in other words, a knowledge check to kill the enemy. In regards to the power of passives, it's a tradeoff. Now that you can't cheese the game with iai quickdraw, there are more complicated effects that deliberately alter your gameplay rather than incidentally such as the Mystic Dyads, Cleansing Prayer, Rock Solid, and Versatility. In addition to the new mechanics, there are many new effects altering yokai shift, yokai abilities, and anima that will affect how much you choose to engage with them (although customizing soul cores is a pain).
>meta
I never said what the optimal way to play is. In fact, I specified that what would be optimal depends on your build and enemy several times. Or are you suggesting that situational merit is oppositional to depth? Who is ignoring who?
>It does affect how you play, but it doesn't require skill.
At what point did I say depth has anything to do with skill. I repeat, at what point did I say depth has anything to do with skill.
Please just fuck off, you're clearly refusing to distinguish what depth and a knowledge check is, dismissing as if I'm refusing to explain it when I fucking have already. You're either really fucking dumb, a salty Nioh 2 fag or a troll.
You didn't say depth has anything to do with anything. You were rather clear on that, in fact. I didn't say it did, either, but Nioh 2's changes do place a greater emphasis on skill.
I'll give you a clear and functional definition of depth if it helps: progressive stages of nuance.
People often confuse this with complexity because more moving parts does provide more opportunities for depth to establish. Variety is the same. Nioh 2's changes require more interaction with more mechanics, which in turn are more harmonious. It doesn't bypass the action element. All of these things are active at once, so mastering one thing then progressing to master another to utilize in conjunction is, in fact, depth through skill and strategy. By comparison, simply knowing that a build does a thing is a knowledge check, yes.
Care to address anything else or just cover your ears and pretend I'm ignoring you?
>I didn't say it did,
Then why bring it up then?
>but Nioh 2's changes do place a greater emphasis on skill.
Oh that's why, you need to feel validated
>I'll give you a clear and functional definition of depth if it helps: progressive stages of nuance.
No you fucking spastic, that isn't depth. Do I need to use another game as an example of depth so you can get it into your thick skull the differences. Metal Gear Solid is a prime example of depth because it allows and even forces you into different playstyles. You can sneak doing assassin kills, you can plant distractions, set up traps or go full carnage. In Nioh 1 you can get to the point of being a full on sneak assassin machine without relying on ammo drops or the risk of consuming all of your invisibility techniques. You can't do that in Nioh 2 because the game solely favors chain canceling moves applying debuffs due to over inflating enemy health.
Now that you've been told AGAIN what depth really is, stop being a massive moron and fuck off.
An example isn't a definition, anon, and again, what you're describing is specifically variety. Circumstantial variety in opposition to coexistent variety, even. Why are you so offended by this notion?
Because of a lot of other changes I already described, but your tiny, reductive brain might have a hard time wrapping itself around that concept.
>nioh 2
>coexistent variety
lol
even lmao
I accept your concession.
>An example isn't a definition, anon, and again, what you're describing is specifically variety.
Holy fucking shit you're not just one of the types of people I've mentioned, you're all of them.
wo long in a society bros
Your fixation on personas rather than the actual games, especially when cornered, is telling. Better luck next time.
>but Nioh 2's changes do place a greater emphasis on skill.
How the fuck big red light telling you to press fucking yokai skill for awesome animation to drain boss ki and then burst, "places a greater emphasis on skill"?
Max ki. Being attacked will reduce a yokai's max ki, and when their entire ki bar is red, they will be put into a grapple state, though the player still has the chance to get a few hits in before it recovers. When a Yokai is at 0 ki, all max ki damage is doubled. This means against stronger foes, instead of just mashing buttons, you want to maximize the amount of max ki damage you can do in this state in order to stun them even longer and get a grapple. Yokai skills are one common and effective way of doing this, but the boost to max ki damage also applies to normal skills and the limited-use weak point hits (very different from Nioh 1, where there was basically never reason to not hit weak points). The big max ki damage from weak points is especially important to prevent yokai from rallying in a pinch.
Confusion in Nioh 1 instantly depletes a yokai's ki to 0 and, depending on the yokai leaves them vulnerable to a final blow. In Nioh 2, it ties in with the changes to ki. As before, it increases incoming damage to 50% and disables rallies, with timing varying based on an enemy's confusion resistance. Confusion can also be extended by 50% by applying another elemental debuff, so maximizing efficiency means apply more elemental status effects at about 50%. Ideally, you want to time confusion infliction immediately before the 0 ki phase to prevent them from breaking out of combos with a rally and maximize max ki damage. Doing this in time requires optimizing your resources and skills, and also needs to be done with consideration whether you want to fight in a normal state or the dark realm, as leaving the 0 ki state will always switch them.
>Nioh 1 is deeper than Nioh 2
lol
So how does one "express" mechanics?
Basically game I like=deep.
Game I don't like=not deep.
Nioh 1/2, Elden Ring, Dark Souls 1/2/3, SoP, and Wo Long are all basically the same game no real difference between them.
>So how does one "express" mechanics?
Example in Nioh 1. You can have special effects on armor to boost damage on your bow so it kills nearly everything in one hit. By wearing the heaviest armor in the game giving you a D rank, you can drain you stamina constantly keeping you in the damage sweet spot. This clip for example shows what I was experimenting with. Not the final build I made which I don't have a recording of, plus I haven't played the game in over a year. Just picture it without having to spend time draining my stamina.
>invade
>person has infinite spirit
>just spams insanely fast martial art that it doesn't matter if I parry it because lol infinite spirit
>invade again
>person only takes 2 DMG per hit with my Polearm
>despite that, I manage to almost kill them
>suddenly they're taking 0 dmg and hit me for 99999
>invade again
>guy uses his spirit beast 5 times in a row
>not 5 times in a row after doing stuff, I mean back to back
I don't know how you guys invade on PC. It's just cheaters and cheaters and cheaters.
My big issue is how fucking powerful passive deflection play is.
>don't martial art
>don't use heavy attacks
And you've beat 90% of people.
am i retarded? where the fuck do i go?
Hop down into that ravine
apparently i am just that fucking retarded goddamn
go across that bridge to the right
Anon how the fuck do you have 7/7 flags and don't know where to go? You had to be in the waterfall already
did you get the one under the arch where the false dragon bird thing is?
just beat the game, it was alright I guess. everything before lu bu felt super hard, and everything after lu bu felt like a walk in the park—including lu bu 2. I probably died less than 8 times after beating lu bu, which in itself was a really fun fight and probably the highlight of the game. I made a wood/ground spear build from the fextralife video and now I’m an immortal god as well, but I don’t really have much desire for ng+.
ROLL UP ON MY RED HARE
Is there a good farming spot for qi/souls/exp whatever? I want to try and get 30 more levels to dump into unlocking that metal fog wizardry for poison, but my main stats are wood/fire
respec
but then I lose all the points Ineed for my weapon spec so not really god idea
Co-op
If you just wanna fuck around and tinker with stuff just use cheat engine and have a clean save backed up somewhere.
>bracing myself for the second Lu Bu fight
>he is apparently not resistant to ice, lightning or earth
>chain stunlock him and punch the debuffs off then repeat
Ultimately underwhelming, design was cool though.
he is still a pushover even if you fight fairly
>missed some pandas
>missed some golden cicadas
>no idea where they are
>no icon to at least show what map it's on after you beat the game
yeah fuck that shit
If I liked this will I like strangers of paradise: final fantasy? apparently it's kinda the same? what differs?
I love final fantasy but wrote off strangers as just "oh some spin off shit with button mashing combat" but had no clue it was one of THESE kind of games?
You should definitely try it, it's very fun. My only issue with SoP is that it looks very bland and unappealing sometimes graphically. Gameplay is what ultimately cements my enjoyment of these games, but atmosphere and level aesthetic is nice too.
Not that anon, but I'm also curious about SoP.
How long is it to beat? What's the combat like? Wo Long or Nioh? How much build autism is there? Do I need those fucking NPC's following me around everywhere? Is there /fashion/?
My only issue is that since it's a Final Fantasy game, you're forced to have these fucking NPC's follow you everywhere and I just want them to fuck off.
Also, again, Final Fantasy game so "dude wear this specific outfit, no transmog / refashion of any kind"
Is that a thing?
Pretty sure there's refashion, there's a lot of different looking armor in the game. Amsuingly, people were turned off at the idea of the main cast looking like regular dudes with shirts and jeans on but then you can some incredibly strange and edgy armor straight away.
sop is the missing link of nioh and wo long. wizardries are like its command abilities, martial arts are like combo abilities, deflect is soul shield, classical nioh parry still exists on the block button. build autism can get pretty extreme with the job affinities. DO NOT USE GUNS ON YOUR FIRST PLAYTHROUGH. I made a new file when dlc 3 came out to test how the base game is with changes, guns can cruise through without issue.
what's the most OP class to start with for strangers? I suck ass at these games
don't think of SoP in terms of classes, find a weapon you like and stick with it.
what happens with the lady who lost her husband? i just gave her some coppers in the final sub mission, now what?
Go talk to the dude meditating behind the house with the locked doors in the main hub. Then reload and talk to her in the middle of the hub.
It's already criminal to be this big. How could they let this happen?!?!
KT always look out for coomers
new to the series, how does this game compare to combat in eldenwangs? interested in the chinese folklore. is it more arcadey?
we're all new to this series dude
it's the first game
yeah but its like noih3 or something like that at the end of the day
ok thanks anons, just wanted to get a reference point but good to see. i'll try it out
its way faster and more aggressive than elden ring, and you cant really outlevel or cheese your way to winning if you're having trouble with a boss.
Closer to Sekiro rather than Elden Ring.
Bosses in this are considerably more aggressive than Sekiro's but I wouldn't exactly call either game hard. But I guess it depends on what you like. Sekiro has better world design, better art design, better music, better controls, but this game has more freedom over how you play, how you build and more RPG stats in general.
I'd say this isn't as good as Nioh. But it's still fun.
Did they fix the performance problems on PC yet? My purchase of this game depends on that fact.
The demo was fun but goddamnit it ran like shit
No, if anything they made it worse with the recent patch. Crashes were fixed, performance was not.
Main game ran way better than the demo for me. Apart from the horrendous load times it's okay.
I couldn't even launch the demo, pirated version run okayish with crashes that were more frequent the further I got. Haven't had a single crash since last patch and game runs better, but it still dips below 60
>do the first ng+ mission
>die to boss
i hate this gays delayed attacks
The tiger boss might as well be pic related with his delayed attacks.
I don't understand the weapon system at all. Parrying is literally the only thing you do, and every weapon parries identically. What exactly am I being asked to choose between here?
room temperature iq
>someone asks a question about the game
>players instantly resort to juvenile insults
If you can't answer the question about the game then don't reply at all. Fucking retards.
>ask a question only a literal retard would ask
>get mad when people belittle you for being a retard
stop posting
retard
You added nothing to the thread. Learn from this anon:
Are you retarded? Honest question.
martial arts and damage inflicted from normal attacks. don't play like dark souls wait to parry then attack, try some actual aggression.
>Parrying
Only if you're a fucking retard that follows every single thing this fucking board tells you to do.
Glaives and what not deal "normal" damage to enemies instead of chip damage, allowing you to simply unga bunga against them without being forced to use deflect all the time. Staves or cudgels tear through posture, similar to tonfas in nioh, allowing you to guard break enemies faster. Spears are you crowd control weapons. Swords afaik are nice for catching fast moving enemies, especially if they can be stunlocked.
>Swords afaik are nice for catching fast moving enemies
I shat on it before but meteor strike, which is just a low damage pommel strike, lets you infinite any normal enemy. when they start blocking you meteor strike and just keep normal attacking, repeat until dead.
>spears
>crowd control
Lol, lmao even.
Spears are the single best 1v1 weapon in the game because 90% of enemies don't actually move far enough away when dodging to escape your combos
That works too. A lot of enemies have a tendency to back away after you successfully deflect their crit attacks. Spears are a good weapon to catch them
>posture
retard
Less confusing than spirit or whatever TN calls posture in this game.
Wo Long has the worst hub EVER
it is hilarious they made a quick loading blackscreen between missions but there are only 2 fucking options
>do you want to play the same mission for less loot?
>no? get fucked you need to load the wizard village, bow the flag then into another load screen
Oh and you cant even start another random invade without the loading hub
Anybody has any tips for nioh 2 deep underworld level 21 onward. And by that i wanna hear opinion from your build and what you used to beat it. It's just too brutal imo and you randomly got a shuten doju as a boss
Another side question are deep curse bosses from scrolls worth it and can they drop something, and what is your favorite path of ability
I really want to reach 30 before i start wo long
I cheesed the depths mostly using purity fists, a water splitstaff, ninigi's grace and limitless. Every encounter more or less plays out identically at that point, you inflict confusion, deplete their ki positioning yourself at the ass end and limitless. Get the timing and spacing down properly and you can even sneak in a grapple after limitless if whatever you're fighting isn't dead by that point.
Limitless?
The high stance fist skill, you become one punch man but it drains your entire ki bar to compensate.
And you do this on a depleted ki, what grace and clan did you use also
7 pieces of Ninigi's grace and 6 pieces of Moonlight Flutist, for clans I can't remember the names for shit but it was the one that gave bonuses to ki damage and damage on winded enemies.
I used AA toughness + B Agility with Magatsuhi + Susanoo grace for my first clear. Once I got the hang of it and sure of my ability to dodge I use B toughness AA Agility and Ame no Uzume + Susanoo grace. If else fails you can always bring the companion and use the scampuss.
>invade
>NPC's all have weird graphical glitches
Oh god. It's over for me...
I went through Zhang Bao and half of the following level not being able to deflect and thought my game was glitching. Turns out it was my equip weight. I still beat Zhang Bao on my first attempt. Asmongold really fucking sucks.
I've been doing expeditions in nioh 2 and the tengu's disciple keeps crashing when we get to the boss in the first mission. Its just black screen 4eva. What do?
This horse has really long legs
those are not true steppechad horses please understand
I am glad I'm not the only autist noticing the horse in this thread.
Holy shit this is nuts.
Its just a shame that Ren's infinite shurikens don't work on poison shurikens. I don't even know what to use shurikens for, I just spam item canceled feathers.
>Life Drain (Ninjitsu Hit) AAA+
>AAA+
This is.. A bit underwhelming.
Wo Long has singlehandedly made me redownload Nioh 2 so I can play both at once and have more fun.
based video games addict
Rude. I can stop anytime I want, I just don't have anything else to do. Besides I never finished the Abyss fully or used Odachi + Fists (the gayest weapons) and I wanted to hear Otakemaru's dynamic music again.
>Odachi + Fists (the gayest weapons)
those are the best weapons in the game lol
I was just teasing you odachi and fist fags in good fun, but I did like them the least in moveset + visuals.
it made me want to finish up some builds in sop before going back to nioh 1. turns out you can fuse effects around between helmet, legs and chest in sop by using the head+chest and chest+leg two slot armors as intermediaries.
Does SoP have a semi endless dungeon mode too? I never played it because I dislike final fantasy aside from the music, but I hope that's a tradition they picked up from Nioh 2 that'll carry over to Wo Long as well.
I am still waiting for a huge sale on SoP to maybe give it a genuine try.
it has the rift, my only complaints are you can't just keep chaining linked portals to skip multiple floors and leveling monster bonuses is two different types of tedious.
Based fun enjoyer! Still waiting for my new gpu so I can actually play wo long.
i hate secret achievements so much, ive seen the whole game brah what are you hiding from me
Is every stat to 10 the baseline?
12
Having a lot of fun with the new hyperarmor build. I definitely need to mess around with the gear itself to optimize it. I actually have to play the singleplayer because i've run out of money for embedment's lol.
I think I might not go full tank with earth. My stats right now are something like 40 earth 30 wood? I think i'm gonna keep earth to a minimum for the buffs then go into metal for poison/crowd control then maybe fire to reduce martial art costs?
Gear wise I definitely need stuff that buffs me/debuffs enemies when I hit them with a wizadry spell since lion's roar is really hard to not get hit by. Stuff that lengthens buff duration. then maybe stuff that reduces spirit consumption or reduces spirit damage I take? It might be interesting to do the inverse and go all in on buffs to spirit damage so I can stun people as much as possible instead of relying on normal attack damage.
>play tutorial near the end of the game for completions sake
>learn theres a whole extra thing you can do with divine beasts
Why didn't you play the tutorial when it was offered to you? Or at any point after?
i kept playing waiting for the game to stop being linear and the map to show up, also
>playing tutorials
I wonder how many people think i'm cheating when I just armor through all of their shit and their deflects don't do anything.
Anyone experimented more with jump attacks? they feel like ass for most attacks but spears and shit have so much range that they feel somewhat usable.
Supposedly jump attacks also give a ton of spirit but I haven't tested
I feel like you should try to include that bog spell in your setup, see if idiots run inside and get slowed
yeah might be good.
Do you have +element power on your gear? 130 isn't that great though the ability is still good for covering yourself to heal. Good PvE ability, I use it a lot.
over...
idk if they have a name but they have to take "infected" flags which require them to kill enemies around the flag. If they do, it kicks you out. I think the map has a pointer for the last one in the map they can take.
>literally about chink fu
>no fist and kick weapon
????
prease undastand
Your dlc awaits, m'lady
You'd think the DLC would be for more interesting weapons, like the staple wuxia flying swords for example.
flying swords is going to be from new martial arts. you already have the one from yu ji's sword that can launch 6 swords.
obvious DLC bait
This isn't a kung fu title, more like fantasy swordfights and magic.
Can I get a QRD on PvP? Do I need anything specific like x points in y stat or heavy armor or something?
What is it about Wo Long threads and being filled with raging autists? Every thread, without fail.
Fromfags (not general From fans) started shit with Nioh back in the day, Niohfags (not general Nioh fans) reciprocated in kind and they shitposted for years without either side ever making good points. Now both sides have a tendency to go full tard rage whenever another action game exists with similar styles.
and now Wo Long fans are stuck in the middle catching shit from both sides, its beautiful
Invaded a Cheater.
I've invade a few cheaters before, but this was the first time I decided to record it. Decided to try see if I could kill him with falling off stuff, but it doesn't work either.
Was gonna put it on Streamable, but it's too big.
If anyone has any advice on how to kill them, I'd appreciate it. At this point, I'm two seconds away from downloading cheats myself to see if there is a way to kill people like this.
>get trainer
>enable one hit kill
i believe people with infinite hp can still be 1hit, if you do enough damage. That said i somehow ran into a cheater on ps5, like how the fuck?
I have a clip where I beat the ass of a guy with infinite health for like 5 minutes, iirc it ended when I got bored and let him take the flag or he d/c'd.
going to a flag doesnt stop an invasion. i tried lol.
You have to take the "right" flag. Which is usually one of the last ones.
I laughed my ass off here. What a fucking shitter. Imagine having infinite health and spirit and still getting shit on
back in my day you had to trick a cheater to falling into an instant kill box, but those dont exist in wo long.
now i do remember an area in dark souls 2 that was too high for anyone to surviver, but it didn't have a killbox. so you could permanently trap cheaters down there. find one of those and you've found the holy grail.
I've fallen into a few gaps between architecture that I couldn't get out of without teleporting or coincidentally having a specific Martial Art that moved me in a certain way, so it is possible.
>guy is running around on Max Spirit and Infinite HP
i don't get it
why even bother playing the game at that point?
cheevos
i feel like watching again
I still think fire has the best damage out of all the virtues. Lightning is the only other thing that i've seen do massive damage against human sized targets. Poison can deal a lot too but that's only one spell that you're forced to dodge or otherwise get poison'd.
three spikes of imposing slab usually hit human sized enemies, specced for earth magic it's around 130 per spike.
>two webms named pvp 12
anon? your naming conventions?
i would use fire but i dont like any of the weapons that scale with it
here's hoping for the inevitable greatsword to be a fire weapon
Don't mind me.
yeah. I don't like the restrictions on weapon choices based on stat you use, it's really dumb and the virtue weapons scale with best seem all over the place. What the fuck does a curved sabre, dual halberds, and a normal halberd having in coming that support a fire based playstyle???
is romance of the three kingdoms actually worth reading
no, find the drama that laughing gif is from
only if you read the history 50years after the ending to see Sima clan getting absolutely wrecked
i wouldnt read it, watch the show, much more enjoyable
>play another session of wo long
>voices are randomly in japanese
only bug ive had
how can you tell?
what
>burning through my accolade reserves for dual halberds with both falling and scattered leaves
>over 100 dualberds later still nothing
you're going to be so fucking angry when dlc 1 or 2 adds martial arts to the smithy
its inevitable I know but I want them bad and I want them now
can halberds even have falling leaf? isn't it the signature ability for a named dual sabre? it's orange isn't it?
imagine spending 780,000 accolades on dual halberds only to realize the one you're looking for doesn't even exist lmao
yeah, I should've asked anon to put the gun down first
DUAL halberds homie, they share the same pool as the other 2 dualies
signatures are signatures, they can't even drop on other weapons of the same type.
dog i've literally seen 2 different dualberds with falling leaves and scattered leaves respectively, im trying to get one with both
anon, I'm going to keep doubting you until you show a picture of halberds with falling leaf. orange skills dropping on different weapons is a game changer that's bigger than any internet slapfight.
I want a heavy cavalry spear with the monkey spin and I don't even know if it's possible.
you can only get 4 stars from accolades right? can't roll a 5 star grace effect, no point
I'll take a 4 star weapon with my preferred martial arts over a grace thanks.
can you even have two orange arts on a weapon?
There's nothing inherently better about orange arts, it just means it's the signature art of a certain character and their weapon.
yeah but those are what youre looking for right? i've never seen two on any weapon ever
no, he's after a white and an orange that doesn't even roll on dual halberds unless he's not playing in english so what he's calling falling leaves is something completely different than the dual saber martial art falling leaf.
>wear a full set of ultra-rare gear to get +1% damage
thanks but no thanks
4 Stars can roll graces, unless you specifically meant they can't roll one only in the Accolade drops.
the sound effect for the bo staff weapon is fucking hilarious i love it
Alright anons, I just got fucking ganked three times in a row by the exact same fucking people.
I guess they're resetting the area some fucking how.
What's the best most damaging build for PVP. I need to kill instantly.
fling trainer
Is the gear system the same as Nioh where all the stats are put into groups and you can only have one of each group on a piece and all the actual good stats are in the same group so all the other rolls are just useless shit like .4% more money?
>all the stats are put into groups and you can only have one of each group on a piece
yes
>and all the actual good stats are in the same group
most groups have good stats, can have multiples of circle which has good options
that hurt my fucking neck anon, give a warning next time sheesh
Anons, I have no idea where to farm for drops.
6-1, after you go underground, there's a set of stairs after a resting flag with two statue warriors up it. The statue at the top, for whatever reason, always has multiple items. I wish I had a screenshot but that'll have to do.
You absolute legend. Guaranteed 3 drops and I got like five 5* stars just killing the guys on the way here. What a weird bug.
I have spent an unreasonable amount of time there
I was a little worried it'd be bugged to only drop 3 or 4 stars, but nope. Just got 5* Lord of Lords armour. Very based.
>5* Lord of Lords armour
nice jesus armor, we can go back to rome now
the hell is 6-1, the first mission of part 6?
Glaive of Righteousness one. Kill the first boss to reach the second area, and then defeat the two Terracotta Soldiers on the stairs after the second battleflag. Quick, anon. It could be patched any second now.
this explains alot as ive done that level several times and was confused as to how the terracottas were dropping so much shit
going 70 wood 30 earth turns the game into easy mode. you are tanky as fuck with huge HP and armor, you get access to some of the best boss melting and utility spells in the game, and spears do crazy damage with the wood scaling. i seriously have not died yet in ng+, i haven't even come close.
what do you use?
qinglong for the beast
unparalleled spear and curve-headed glaive for weapons
dauntless tiger servant armor set (from han dang)
spells are lightning weapon, inner breath, absorb vitality, and imposing slab
it's seriously fucking broken
thanks i'm gonna try,i'm kinda bored in NG+ right now
it's really fun, the unique martial art on the spear whistling vortex absolutely shreds spirit on human enemies with all of the buffs, and imposing slab trivializes large bosses and enemies
When is this game getting nude mods? Didn’t take long for Nioh 2.
tier list for martial arts when, its so annoying how many are just plain shit.
secretly, all martial arts are good
good joke anon, you funny guy
i think they are supposed to have weird delays to trick parry timing in pvp but they forget wizardry exists
Decided I'd test one last thing before waiting for DLC.
What's the best Martial Art I want for an Axe? I've been farming these guys for a while so I've got a few Tier 5's of the axe with different MA's
Peak gaming
Someone did this to me. Had one hell of a time countering it.
it's just like my favorite poorly dubbed kung fu movies
can you even parry when someone jumps on you?
Probably not but it does very little spirit damage, it's just good for when they're maxed out and any bit of spirit damage will stun them
hmm wonder if spirit damage special effects increase it at all
>recruit for the first time on ng+
>instantly both filled
>go to next mission
>nobody joins for the entire map
wut
people want to farm some maps for gear
From top of my head the on with final yellow turban dude and second lu bu
weird how no one wants to do fist lu bu for miniboss gear though
What are the two best Fire Offensive Spells for PVP, anon?
why two?
All the ones I use in that clip are good.
>Hand blast
does a lot of damage, has good wide fat hitbox
>Fireball projectile (2nd one that has a mini-explosion)
poor tracking but it's quick and can stop people from running and healing
>Flame floor
area denial, hits multiple times against a target up close, builds up status fast
>Bursting fireball
Slow but it has big aoe, requires the player to parry multiple times (which can catch them off guard), and most importantly deals a FUCK ton of damage if it hits.
I can only support two spells. I use the others too much (Earth Shout) and Venom Snare.
apparently toxin puddles interrupt revive attempts
You got a lot of balls running hammer.
Good shit on punishing them for being greedy with revives tho.
>have flame damage on weapon
>use toxin weapon spell
>only delivers toxin damage
ripped off
I still dont understand how to make a build, do I just dump points into the element that my weapon scales off? and a more even spread amongst the others? Do I then prioritise using spells that match my weapons scaling because they will also scale the same spells? And then what about armor? Also I feel I never have time to use martial arts in boss fights they don't stop attacking and regular goons always use their red stuff and armor martial arts. Feels like 90% of this game is just running around waiting to press circle when the enemy uses their reds stuff.
you probably want to have a bit of wood and earth for health and defense, but otherwise there isn't much reason not to just dump everything in your damage stat.
>I still dont understand how to make a build, do I just dump points into the element that my weapon scales off?
yes
> Do I then prioritise using spells that match my weapons scaling because they will also scale the same spells?
yes
>And then what about armor?
Whatever you want that suits your playstyle.
>And then what about armor? Also I feel I never have time to use martial arts in boss fights they don't stop attacking and regular goons always use their red stuff and armor martial arts.
Generally you want to use martial arts in high spirit..Most martial arts suck which is why you see people using whirling vortex or monkeys wisdom cause they do a ton of spirit damage and stack debuffs really quickly. If you want to be more aggressive just slap spirit damage on your gear.
Stat points are more or less irrelevant to build, but it's better than it's compliment your armor skills
You need to hard tailor armor and weapons for your playstyle though
It's not that complicated. It depends on what you want to do. Do you want to specialize in melee damage? Do you want to be tanky? Do you want to specialize in certain elemental spells? Then you go from there, seeing what makes sense and what doesn't.
>guy rubberbanding all over
>throw out spells randomly
>kill him
is this a gamepass issue or does anyone else fight the shadow realm?
Finished the game today, enjoyed it overall, but man was Yu Ji an underwhelming fight. I was sure it was gonna be a fakeout, and it sorta was with the Blind Boy being next but he was pretty underwhelming as well and then the game was just over. Hope the DLCs have some better boss fights.
>questioning why people are saying this game is easy when I keep getting my shit slapped all the time, not just by bosses but also normal enemies occasionally
>then I noticed that I have items that increase the number and effects of healing pots
>tfw I've gone through 80% of the game basically gimped as fuck
can you believe you're actually the second anon at least to post about that here?
put me down as a third, I was getting slapped around by that demon bull thing before I opened my bags for anything.
demon bull is early, we're talking about two end of the game tards
Anyone find some especially effective hammer martial arts? Maybe from unique weapons?
Sea Split is like a Finisher on demand.
Mountain Strike is super fast + crazy good Spirit Damage.
Undercurrent Sprint is great for general combat.
>Depth isn't about making builds that completely change the way you play them, that's just variety.
>Depth is reeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaly about applying the same five debuffs to enemies while switching stances all the time.
Depth isn't binary. For variety, the joint reference to it and complexity may help clarify. Only 1 of 4 paragraphs mentioned confusion (not to exclude the significance of individual elemental debuffs and their effects, but they're mostly the same as Nioh 1). 1 of 5 if including the later elaboration on build customization. Accordingly, 0 mentions of stances, ki pulse, or flux.
Taotie is very unsettling, I can't look at it for too long
*AHEM*
Taotie dick.
He cute
just download a trainer and turn on max loot drops, its not cheating because grinding should be illegal
you're playing a japanese game set in china, the only way grinding could be more sanctioned is if the koreans were somehow involved.
>invade
>complete stacked heavy armor
>damage resistance on everything
>hosts friend still hits me for 200+ dmg each running attack
I can't tell if this person was cheating or not. They were doing more DMG than me and I was using a Hammer.
I've noticed a lot of people using Cheats to avoid the Morale system. So I'll invade and they haven't even bothered to get any kind of Flag, so I'm on 6 Morale and unable to use ANY OF MY SPELLS, yet they're on 25 Morale and have access to their full power.
So I'll hit them for 50 and they'll hit me for 300.
PC has literally zero measures in place to stop cheating lmfao, i don't really know what you expected sadly. The amount of people cheating their shit and just doing co-op, from experience in other similarly styled games, is fucking sky high
Ping pong
>host trying to cheese lu bu mini boss at 6 morale with companions
not on my watch bitch
going through NG+ until i start sporadically pvping and doing co-op until DLC, and this dropped from the Lubu rematch. Is it any good?
Apparently all halberds are shit. never used them myself.
Iron Calf is a slow PvE skill, you use it only on huge openings for good damage, but that's it. And I think the main martial art for the lubu halberd suck personally, too slow for even PvE. If you love the weapon then lubu's set has a nice halberd damage bonus, but it's pretty heavy so you want a lot of Stone element to light roll which clearly doesn't scale well to the damage. I'd stay away unless you want to cosplay, if you are beating ng+ then co-op is going to be fine.
I'm not reading all that nonsense you guys are arguing about. Before Nioh 2 came out, I posted a couple of changes from 1 to 2 where they dumbed down yokai. idr all the points but they didn't throw down yokai pools as much and the new systems made them way easier to ki break and deal massive damage. In addition, the yokai skill systems just break the game. Burst counters are in theory meant to be really strong, hard to deal with attacks that reward the player for countering...the reality is that they're some of the easiest lowest amount of skill attacks to counter that give the player MASSIVE advantages. Like half of the yokai skill tree is dedicated to buffing you up when you do a burst counter or are in the yokai realm.
Nioh 2 still has way better weapons. It's really hard to go back to Nioh 1 because the weapons feel like "beta" versions compared to the updated versions in 2 and the new weapons introduced in 2 are all great besides hatchets.
They also completely removed weapons bouncing off of walls, enemies don't ever capitalize on the winded state to grapple you, you don't need a perfect ki pulse to clear yokai pools, their ki regen debuff has to stack with dark realm to match Nioh 1's, and ambushes are generally are a lot scarcer and weaker. Balance issues aside, Nioh 1 excelled at creating hostile environment, which 2 didn't attempt even in dark realm areas. I think 2's improvements outweigh its shortcomings as well, but it's a bit annoying when people recommend skipping 1 on the basis of 2 being a straight upgrade.
I'm waiting for the day the new weapons and skills are imported to Nioh 1 as that is about all that is missing, especially Bolting Boar.
Yeah. Nioh 1 has more of an advantage of feeling a bit more like a "pure" samurai game, living weapon cheese aside and I really like that.
Still though, Nioh 1 certainly wasn't broken. Again disregarding how absurd builds could get with all the one shotting stuff you could combo human enemies SUPER easily which they changed in Nioh 2 (though yokai skills just break them in a new way so it kind of doesn't matter).
I wonder if Nioh really is just that hard to mod or if there just isn't enough people interested. Nioh 2 only has simple model swap and color swap mods besides one guy who made some changes to skill inputs but I wish he went full on and developed it further because some weapons feel much weaker than they should PURELY because they aren't able to make full use of the skills available to them. iirc this is the biggest weakness for Axe, it has enough skills but most are tied to one or two inputs or stances so you can really only grab like 5 unique skills across your entire weapon.
>I wonder if Nioh really is just that hard to mod or if there just isn't enough people interested.
Not enough people are interested, and those that are mainly focus on nude mods.
Best place to farm for the War Maiden set?
Any help? Would kill for a 5 star set.
just use the transmog function to wear it with a normal set bro
Can you no longer return to the hidden village without resetting maps/morale in NG+?
You can't?
Never tried it after ng
It doesn't want to let me leave this main mission without resetting, at least.
just finish the mission
Nah. I don't want to fight Liu Bei for the 2nd time in NG+, I want to reach blacksmith-chan easily while farming drops autistically.
What's a good weapon for Fire for PVP?
>do some ng+ co-op
>some dudes doing 230 lightning damage on top of every ~100 dmg normal hit he does
>my normals are only doing 100
i feel weak now
>co-op scaling doesn't touch defense at all
lol
it might but defense does fuck all compared to the physical resistance stat.
neither of them are touched.
Are Curved Sabres good in PVP?
I'm gonna try my luck in PVP when I get home from wage slaving.
is it cyberbulling to deflect and single normal attack only because the other guy can only do 19 damage per hit through heavy armor?
am i retarded or does the game not show you unique gear set bonuses?
It's on another page of the equipment's info. It's not you, the UI is just retarded.
Why does Lu Bu have so much health?
For gear, do I really just get something that's 4* and upgrade it?
do you guys not upgrade your gear? I killed him with a heavy attack.
I've been upgrading the swords I got from the first Demon General you see in that mission you meet Zhou Yun. After breaking his stance 4 times he's only at half health for me.
why are the regular stages so easy? at most you fight 2 enemies at once, now think back to nioh2 for example that stage where you have to chase a cannon zombie and run past an army of enemies that you have to then fight
in wo long all the maps are just corridors filled wtih an enemy here, enemy there, none of the encounters felt like challenges whatsoever
to be fair nioh 2 map design was SS tier
yeah i feel like a lot of the maps were designed like darksouls or sekiro map sections where you have to think a bit how to best approach the situation or you're just making it infinitely harder for yourself, in wolong you have a skeleton around a corner here and there and a warlock perched on a cliff there but generally encounters are all designed to have maybe 1 or 2 enemies you fight at a time unless you run straight through the pack of enemies in which case you might fight 3
its like they had some memo on the wall of the map designers "only place 3 enemies close to each other at any time" or something
It's because they want this game to allow you to play more stealth oriented even though it's really easy without even having anything in "stealth". The way Wo Long encounters actually heavily encourage looking around and clearing things around an area before you go through the main path. It's a very common theme. You always have ways to find paths to stealth attack enemies that would be throwing projectiles and spells at you or come around corners to fuck you up
if it was stealth oriented it should have way way way more enemies, think of hirata estate packs of enemies before the juzou boss, with a side path you can take on the rooftops and then dropping down into some shrubbery to sneak past them, then sneaking into the building to lure the boss out
What infuriated me the most about Wo Long's stage design is just how many ambushes and cheap jumpscares there are. It's just incredibly tiring and low efforts.
Here's a tip: basically every time there's a branching path and you can see an enemy, especially a large enemy, down one of them, you should take the other path or look for a way to sneak around the perimeter. I got through 90% of combat in the second half with stealth kills.
I know, and I thought that that was boring half way through the game because there's barely any variation to it.
That is true.
I’m having more trouble with Zhang Liang than I really should be, especially with two reinforcements taking most of that agro. Why is his lightning such bullshit!?
You mean Zhang Liao? Zhang Liang is the intro boss.
>Why is his lightning such bullshit!?
Because his lightning and attacks were taken from Nioh bosses, which is why he's one of the more memorable bosses in this game tbh.
Niohcucks are just contrarians
Wo Long chads just want more Sekiro
