You're not thinking like a businessman. Why would they continue a garbage franchise when Nioh's first month sales absolutely curbstomped its lifetime sales.
This somewhat reminds me of some people experimenting with modding in boss movesets. I don't think it went that far though. >tfw never getting Nioh 1/2 EX versions that add in high customizable skills slots and completely new skills stolen from bosses
not really. I have 35 wood, 40 fire, 20 metal and these three +9 swords. 244 base, A+ Wo C- Fi A- Me is 550 total. 240 base A-Wo A+ Fi C- Me is 549 total, 249 base A- Wo C- Fi A+ Me is 555 total.
respec'd to 99 fire, 1 wood, 1 metal. the A+ fire scaling 240 base is 571 total, the 249 base C- fire scaling is 540 total, the 244 base C- fire scaling is 531. the difference between A+ and C- seems to be about half a point of damage per level.
You have three 99s that's not proper stats that's cheating lmao

Yeah, but if you equipped a weapon with say Fire, Metal and Water scaling that 99 in Fire will give it enough boost so that it doesn't notably fall behind. You will deal less damage, but not by so much that it really matters.

>wrong about stats in Nioh
Stats could game break in Nioh. You're moronic. It's less important now, but at late game, it's still 100+ Extra Damage from focusing.
the only time stats really matter (and even then not really) is when ultimate attribute skills start dropping which is so late most people won't even see them.

>thrown weapons.
After 120 hours, I learnt today that I can throw pebbles and throwing knives like bow shots.
It really isn't that big just on it's own and most of your damage comes from Upgrades, but it is even less important since the weapons all have 2 other stats you'll almost certainly have raised as well. At worst it'll wind up within 100 damage of your actual weapon, but like we saw in Nioh that damage number isn't the be all and end all.
The vast majority of your damage will come from rolled/embedded Equipment stats or Wizardry. Obviously do go for scaling if you can, but if you want to use a Halberd with no scaling at all in Water alongside Water spells you're not going to notice a huge difference.
Right now no, the difference between 10 and 99 in the best scaling attribute is like a 10% difference in actual damage dealt, in Nioh it definitely did not matter in the first difficulty, only in ng+ onward weapons can have a special effect to further increase the scaling (like A scaling can go to AA).
Right now Wo Long don't have any option to change the scaling so it definitely doesn't matter which stat you pump
as much as I liked the game at the beginning, its repetitiveness is really starting to show half through the story; even the bosses, although fun, are pretty similar and follow the same pattern of waiting for the red attack to do the big dmg
The webm is at 60fps. Pull it up and frame by frame it, except don't look at the handholding red flash in the UI, look for the first frame of clear forwards movement from the boss and count frames from that movement to damage dealt.
It's 12 frames. The forwards movement of the boss is unreactable, so if you stand there and try to time your parry as you see it lunge it'll hit you. Which is what he's trying to do and is what happens. To deflect this reliably you have to either memorise the timing of the attack from seeing the wind up enough times or react only to the 2nd flash of the red indicator on the HUD which is unintuitive as frick because it flashes before anything moves.

I mean, for starters the average reaction time converted frames is like 12-13 frames iirc so it's doable by everyone using your own metrics. Second, you're not purely reacting here because you have visual and animation tells on top of the game specifying the exact moment for you.

>12-13 frames
250ms (15~ frames) is the average for simple (trained for and anticipated) reaction from visual feedback.
Complex reactions in which the reaction requires more complex action(s) start around 330 and get longer.
Based on that video's resolution, I could barely see the red flash. Regardless, there was no genuine tell for the enemy's attack. The delay between flash and the thing you actually need to deflect are so far apart (a full second) that the flash itself is detrimental. You can't deflect right after you see the flash, as even with Long's "long" deflect window, it's still far far too early. Instead, you are forced to trial and error the timing on these long, drawn out startup animations before the attack actually arrives. When you see the part of the animation that looks like the actual "attack" part, it's too late to react.
This is the case for the majority of red flash attacks in this game. The flash comes in way too early, it is disjointed from the attack. They fricked up big time with how they telegraph these attacks.

there's one homosexual who keeps asking for video breakdowns like anybody is going to go through the effort of editing a slow motion video just for their dumb ass to figure out what's going on in a game they don't play. The stupid thing is that the game still isn't hard despite the awful animation work, because things won't one-shot you before NG+, the deflect window is very wide and you can trivialise the game with magic and status. You even have an I Win button if you're really bad and need to just cheat your way out of the fight. So people who have no clue what they're doing or what is happening on the screen and who wouldn't be able to intuitively read body movements even if they were animated properly can still finish the game and then act like everything is fine.
Anonymous
It isn't nearly as big an issue as you're making it out to be. The game gives you ample time to prepare for the attack with a very long obvious windup and a gigantic window to Deflect. if you cannot consistently Deflect that attack it is because you are performing badly at this game whether by Deflect timing or spamming attacks so you aren't ready to defend, there's no denying that fact. For god's sake the game literally has a gigantic glowing red flash to indicate that you need to be ready to Deflect and then a secondary smaller flash that will 100% of the time indicate the exact Deflect timing with room for error on even that input.
It's almost idiot proof, but apparently even that isn't enough.
Anonymous
He explained exactly what the problem is. "Ample time to prepare" doesn't mean anything because the initial indicator doesn't tell you when the attack is coming and the animation doesn't communicate an upcoming moment of impact until 12 frames before it hits you which means you can't react to the movement of the boss. The attack is pure nonsense to anybody who is trying to respond to animations via common sense. You can of course learn what the attack looks like and the timing of it by seeing it enough times but that would apply to literally anything regardless of animation. The animators are supposed to communicate what is happening to the player because that is the entire point of a videogame animation, they have failed to achieve that and they should be shat on for not doing a better job.

I.e. you get hit, then after hit there are X frames till the hit is confirmed and you take damage, and if you hit parry within that X frames, you retroactively parry the attack (much like a rollback system, for instance). It's not an uncommon feature in action games.

He properly explained why wo long bosses are badly designed compared to elden ring and sekiro
I agree actually. You can do more but countering the red attacks is essentially the most important thing. If you cannot do that, you lose. If you can do that, you don't have to do anything else to win really. Well okay you have to survive until the red attack too of course.
That's a redundant argument though. You CAN win by doing nothing but dodge + Deflect red attacks, but that is very blatantly not how the game is meant to be played and if you're unlucky could leave you dodging attacks for 10+ minutes straight until the AI decides to do it. You also can very easily beat bosses without ever deflecting a red attack, so it isn't a mandatory mechanic either. At the absolute best you could argue that it's the "meta" approach to the game, but even then Wizardry probably does it faster and you'll do much better by mixing Martial Arts in between them.
>"I will only counter red attacks that's the only thing that matters in this game"
What is this absolute autism of judging a game by its bare minimum every single time? But only games that they don't shill. Of course, they don't apply that mentality to the games that they love.
could you elaborate? I usually throw in a few attacks in between the deflects but it doesn't feel like it's worth it most of the time; my gameplay usually ends up looking like this: I deflect all the attacks, then deflect the red attack, press Y to do spirit damage and then use a spell to deal some extra damage, and then when the boss is stunned, I obviously do the crit thing
also, I'm by no means hating on the game, I actually like wo long quite a lot, so please do explain how I'm playing it wrong
NG+ and subsequent playthroughs have always been about rushing to the boss; I don't think I've ever reached max moral, does it really makes a huge difference? I'm usually 15-18 when I enter the boss room.
>try to go for a cool wandering swordsman look with the assassin set >hong jings hat would be perfect >get it >males get the wish.com knockoff version
BUT
WHY
the stats dont really matter what matters is the spirit dmg stat and how fast your combos come out, with the sweeping spear that has hammer's spirit attack the 1st hit comes out almost instantly so you can weave it between deflects very easily, unlike hammer/axe
>I just want a basic, simplistic moveset.
they dont really exist. ever weapon has twirls and spins and shit. including those in a basic combo you will use ad nauseum has to be violating some video game design code
I keep rolling for a glaive with accolades but there's only 1 in the game that doesn't have an orange skill so that narrows my chances even more
Frick this system so much
>not using cheat engine to ignore Korean MMO stat autism
Nioh 2 was way more fun when I didn't have to keep grinding bosses for fricking skills or rerolling weapons. Just pick your favorite weapon and change the modifiers
I liked Nioh and if there was one thing I didn't like about it, aside from all the cheese spells, it would be the deus ex machina parrying with 1kat or 2kat
it's ridiculous that you can somehow expect to not only stop an object of significantly higher mass than yourself coming at you at high speed, but to also completely absorb that resulting momentum and send that same object backwards with an equal or greater amount of force, while also dealing massive damage to it
there is a limit to bullshit and that is clearly beyond the limit
now wo long is parrying/reflecting the game, i.e. bullshit the game, or rather 2nd game because we had the same bullshit in sekiro
that aside, from a balance perspective, having a defensive action also being the best offensive action just means there is no need for any other move in the game
would be cool for a mobile game where you only have one button
>get a guy with a Twitch name when invading >immediately play like a huge scum bag >kill him >look him up >hasn't been streaming in weeks
Dammit. Just once do I want to kill one of these homosexuals while they're streaming.
Weirdly enough, no
It was only that one specific section of the water level that fricked up my FPS, and when it did it was legit like the game was in slo-mo. Burning city was kino and didn't have any problems but I also turned down volumetric shit
Did nothing to may ancient rig as well.
Although I had volumetric fog shit turned down.
Should also mention I'm on a 2060 and using an i7-10700F
Even with my poverty tier rig I'm usually running the game fine, but that one section is just murder
Same here. There were a few areas that made my pc have a fit. But nowhere near as bad as that area.
The instant I entered the gates, and the rest of the stage was like 15 fps at best. Pretty sure it was the rain that did it.
I swear it's the particles, they don't know how to make visually appealing assets so their cope is to just fill the screen with particle effects + crystals + random demon shit. The dragon lightning hazard area is the worst area in the game because of fire and lightning particles making it chug like crazy.
if the mission name is blue it counts towards completion, you need to do some side missions also to bump up completion to unlock more in ng+. can even skip main missions and unlock more if you have enough side available.
What stats will it be? I'm hoping for... >Fire (Main) >Wood (Secondary) >Earth (Third)
I don't know if that makes any sense, but those are the stats I'd like.
The argument of "it makes the game harder for bad players, and easier for good players" is stupid because that's the foundation of the souls leveling system, which everyone mysteriously refrains from complaining about. If you want to shit on it, it should be because of the flag reacquisition on NG+ or the % impact themselves, or the buildup speed, or the spell locking.
I think it's one of those things that is pretty badly designed, but ultimately nothing more than an annoyance that won't be relevant after the first DLC comes out. I can't imagine ever actually caring about it beyond stating that it is dumb.
I actually like it.
It adds a reason to explore the levels, and fight the enmies.
It's not without issues of course. But for a first playthrough I think it's good.
I can see how it will be annoying for second/ng+ runs though.
The motif is interesting. I think the two key reasons to implement it were 1. to make it closer to Dynasty Warriors and 2. because people kept complaining about Nioh being too linear. It basically just takes the place of the hot springs/kodama collectibles, but by affecting the gameplay so much, casuals are encouraged to actually try exploring.
My opinion, the only opinion that matters and most importantly, the CORRECT OPINION, is that it's GOOD for a first playthrough. But bad for NG+ and onward.
If you find them, they should be permanently found. But you can also press a button to reset them for whatever reason.
There you go. The best of both worlds. And this satisfies everyone. If you disagree with me, you're a homosexual and a loser and wrong.
I think morale is overblown, I've been trying to speedrun through NG+ (i.e. not killing everything, skipping flags) and fighting bosses at low morale is honestly not that bad. Then again I run a light armor build and die to everything 1 hit anyway so being low morale isn't a huge deal.
I agree. I'm just saying it doesn't matter as much as people make out. A lot of the bosses aren't even that much tankier at 10 vs 25 (speedrun NG+) rather than 25vs20 (full clear NG). I wouldn't be surprised if it was like maybe 10-20% at most. Thats a bit change but not huge when your performance level is high.
It’s not game ruining but it’s still pretty bad. It’s just one of the easier things you can tangibly point to as an example.
As opposed to something like trying to explain the nuances of animations and why they’re so bad in this game and how bad animations affect combat. Because inevitably someone will say >hurr durr not a problem for me! Gitgud! Obviously I knew this animation had a 4.7 second delay with 0 reaction time once it finally launches and kills you in 1 hit! >the tigers are actually well animate!
But nobody can argue the morale system is shit
>>hurr durr not a problem for me! Gitgud! Obviously I knew this animation had a 4.7 second delay with 0 reaction time once it finally launches and kills you in 1 hit! >>the tigers are actually well animate!
It's not about knowing, it's about learning.
You shouldn’t need to learn. Visual context should let you react appropriately if you’re good enough. Instead the game has a bunch of ridiculous 1 hit kills that you just have to die to the first few times or get lucky with spamming deflect.
That’s not good gameplay and it will always feel shit to play because it’s not about fluid combat it’s about gaming some arbitrary system.

The setting isn't unique to Dynasty Warriors. Dozens of games are set in Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Gameplay is completely different, and the publisher has nothing to do with the development team or engine... very strange comparison.

how is the game compared to nioh 2? I still can't run the game for a while since it hates my computer and I'm wondering if I should still pick it up. Is the NG+ system similar?
Comparing the game to dynasty warriors is dumb but saying that it isn't made by Koei Tecmo is even more dumb. The game uses the katana engine which is the proprietary engine that KT uses for all of their big games now. Even Wild Hearts used it, and that game was made by Omega Force which is the original developer of the warriors series.
People just have the impression this wasn't made by Koei Tecmo because it just feels cheap. Perhaps it's the jerky movement/animation or how cloth looks and moves like paper. The dialogue is like a middle-schooler cut and pasted a bad online translator. Even Bleak Faith with only two devs looked and felt more polished than this. I read that the B team made this, now I see why people agreed with the idea.

Persona 5 Strikers as well.
Why do that when you can farm Terracotta Soldiers? I've been doing that very, very inefficiently for the past two hours or so and gotten 14 Five Star items + a ton of Salvaged Embed stats.
I want Dhong Zhou's spear so I'm killing him in the story mission. Alt+f4 every time so I don't have to waste time rerunning the whole mission.
RIP then. You could try farming for normal gear since his equipment drops everywhere once unlocked, but in this case it's more narrow to fight him.
Kill Chink Smough & Ornstein, then farm the Terracotta dudes in the stairway beyond the 2nd battleflag in that new area where the moronic horse takes you. For whatever reason they're bugged or designed to drop a lot of loot.
Demon lands has dropped 20 straight 5 star items for each 4 star exchange I did with it. Maybe that’s more reliable and a lot faster, what’s the fastest panda demon + battle flag so you can travel to the same level and it restarts the stage?
The flying swallow of heishan probably in act 3. It's on the right side behind a tower before the gate straight ahead.
If you drop gem fragments its always a 5* aswell, idk what the # is but 10 always gives 1. I'll try with 1 and see what happens.
Stacked Flame Attack and %DMG though I don't know why my DMG was so high here. I usually do half that. So something is obviously broken with whatever trainer the guy was using...
No one said that though, it's just weird how his fatal blows removed less than 20% of streamer hp. Even with him having 99 in wood and still using fire magic since week ago
He used Earth Roar several times to reduce damage he takes. Not only that, but with the anon constantly killing him, he's increasing his own Morale (DMG and Defense) and decreasing the other guys.
I literally don't understand how you're supposed to play this game. The combat for me quite frankly falls apart when there's more than 1 enemy you're fighting at a time.
You're engaged in a melee with on enemy, and you need 5-10 seconds to kill them, and then another enemy or two or three ram into you. Worse, you didn't even see them coming because they did a charging attack into you, starting with them OFF of the screen.
Even worse, you can't spam parry since fricking dodge is tied to the same button. So you mash it once to parry the enemy in front of you and then once again in quick sucession to dodge the ganker charging you. But wait! You pressed the parry button to fast, so you dodge into their swings instead.
Double - Triple demon minibosses or minibosses with multiple ads are the worst. Since I pretty much have to run around the map baiting everyone into 1v1s, just so I don't get immediately swarmed and killed.
You don't engage more than one enemy if you can avoid it. If you can't then just focus one down using deflects to build spirit then burst em down with a heavy or MA if you aren't a moron.
If you can't see, then you can hear, and you should know. If you can't do either of those then that's your problem and you should correct it either by paying attention to audio ques, learning enemy patterns, or repositioning.
>The 1v2 submission isn't amazing either.
It was closer to nioh ninjas, with while you still backpedalling most of fight, you still could properly use openings
3men gank squad is unironically something special with how well they covering all their bases
People compare this game to Sekiro and I get it, it's the easy comparison, but I feel the deflect system is more an expansion of the Burst Counter mechanics from Nioh 2 tbh. There's no flow to deflecting like in Sekiro and timings are all over the place.
>finished ng >just clicked that you can just extract the gem from embedding instead of salvaging
i never embedded any gems all ng anyway, just normal stuff from the list
Right, but nobody is seriously going to go into embedding and select the individual gems they want instead of just salvaging their whole inventory. If you haven't noticed you get more cash from selling the salvaged israeliteels than you get from selling the gear, so you should be salvaging everything and selling israeliteels any time you get near to 9999

Ok. WEIRD thing. I was running my luck monke killing build which sucks at everything but killing monke. Tried the Liu Bei human duel. He shits on me no surprised, but he doesn't kill me instantly. I swap to my main set that I've used to clear the game, same defence and HP about but way better damage for duels and proper fights rather than ice rain spam on monkey. SUDDENLY his red eye attacks are hitting for literally 2x my HP. We're not talking a slight increase but literally more than double damage from like 2% less physical resistance and very little change in defence.
Is there a weapon/martial art tier list? Axes and hammers have to be bottom tier along with their arts, I feel like a single saber is too because it naturally scales big in fire and a bit in wood, attacks super fast with very low startup always, and the martial arts are top tier for positioning, chasing, or even just landing them at all. Great deflection too. For pvp since it’s mostly just a light attack and deflect fest until poise is broken, I’d say they’re top tier there too.
That one martial art that lets you optionally charge up a stabbing dash attack has to be one of the best in the game too.
So apparently the Earth phase defensive buff that gives light hyperarmour prevents you from being staggered when you get parried, don't know if you're the guy who was already using that or not but you should try that out and see if it makes PvP playable.

I really don't think that the guy posting a webm in more than one Wo Long thread is more autistic than the guy stalking anybody who posts a webm. You probably should be less of a homosexual to the people posting content if you want your precious threads to survive.
oh you're actually that one schizo who assumes everybody who replies to you is the same guy who has lived in your head rent free for a decade. Stop posting any time.
He is literally right
In the best case scenario MAs are a waste of spirit which you want actually capped for the spirit attack and maybe blocking
In PVP they are an "I WIN" button except for the opponent
>In the best case scenario MAs are a waste of spirit
Nah there are a limited number of MAs which are actually very strong, it's just that the majority of common MAs on weapons are trash and never worth pressing. You have to actively search for the ones that are worth it and then you'll be forever stuck farming gear for the right MA rolls because skills on weapons are random.
Anonymous
Sure you can find some good ones, but the majority >Aren't worth it in terms of economy
or >They have a long wind up that possibly fricks you over and a sidegrade or not much better than light light light spirit
Now factor in how random it is to get few usable ones, and that basically ALL of them are borderline unusable in PVP and it's not a secret why most people just don't bother with them

most people who own games also never beat the first level in them, this doesn't mean anything, anyone that is competent at the game uses martial arts beside full wizardry or full spirit attack builds
Team ninja has such a massive fricking hardon for deflects that it is actively harming the game. Deflect is an instant defensive option that nullifies an attack making you take no damage. That in itself is already good, that's already absolutely worth using.
But that wasn't enough, so they made Deflect give large amounts of spirit instead of costing spirit when you use it
But that wasn't enough, so they made Deflect cause spirit damage to the enemy as well as preventing the attack
But that wasn't enough, so they let you do a unique attack immediately after parry which travels further and deals more damage and is faster and generates more spirit
But that wasn't enough, so they made Deflect interrupt and stagger smaller enemies on use, ending their combos
But that wasn't enough, so they made Red attacks which cause massive damage and stagger even to bosses only when deflected
But that wasn't enough, so they added special gear effects which trigger on deflect, boosting damage, giving vulnerabilities or even healing you
But that wasn't enough, so they added set bonuses which add stacking damage increases to anything you deflect
But that wasn't enough, so they added an Earth buff which applies Heaviness to targets you deflect without even having to attack them
But that wasn't enough, so......
Tbh, i hope they don't bother with Wo Long 2. Nioh 1 had a lot of potential for improvement as the foundations of an amazing combat system was there, just the game itself was missing content.
Wo Long combat's already been "solved" and the end result is not that interesting. This funnily enough, feels like less of an action game than Nioh was even though Nioh had more RPG elements.
I hope Rise of the Ronin has a better thought out combat system.
>Tbh, i hope they don't bother with Wo Long 2. Nioh 1 had a lot of potential for improvement as the foundations of an amazing combat system was there, just the game itself was missing content.
Wo Long is the result of Nioh 2 just like Nioh 2 is the result of Nioh 1
You can't have it both ways, you can't have sophisticated combos and bosses constantly active and attacking you, which is why the deflect centric combat was made
They should go back to pure action games instead of making Souls-likes

>you can't have sophisticated combos and bosses constantly active and attacking you
the bosses in Wo Long aren't even more aggressive than the Nioh ones though?

That's just an unintended result of the deflect system and how overpowered red attacks are. Now imagine Wo Long without deflect and using Nioh sidestep/roll
It's fine that you can't break boss Ki to combo them for 30 seconds without them doing anything, that's not something people are asking for. The issue is that although they switched the gameplay to focus more on interaction/defense, they made the interactions extremely simple because the answer is always to parry and parry is a straight forward timing check with no other variables. They caused this problem by loading far too many benefits onto parry so that it's always better than the alternatives. I could make a more interesting game out of what they've got here without having to start from scratch.
I prefer Nioh too, I'm just stating that Team Ninja tried to do this and failed with the new mechanics, not defending their execution. They even couldn't refine the actual interaction mechanics to properly fit this weapon variety

Guding blade is so slow, i kept getting killed using that on bosses because they never have opening for more than 1 or 2 attacks. Good for trash mobs though.
Why was embodiment of genuine qi so underwhelming? The fight felt unfinished, same with Yuan Shao. Did they run out of time near the tail end of the game or something?
Yeah, the game feels really rushed towards the end. Zhang Liao noticeably reused moves from Nioh bosses, Yan Liang reuses that monster with the blade thing in Nioh, no new enemy at all, the embodiment of genuine qi is just an uninspired stage of floating rocks, Yuan Shao, Yu Ji and the dragon are total jokes. The last stage feel like there should have been something inbetween you waking up and arriving at the boss fight.
>beat the game >reading characters' background story because nothing else to do >read Xun Yu's >he was supposed to help us defeat phantoms of Zhang Liang, Zhang Bao and Zhang Jiao summoned by bad taoists in Qingzhou
Huh, I don't remember any of this. Seems like there should be 1v3 side missions against Zhang brothers that got cut
Probably cut content but they forgot to re-edit character's bios. I notice that Taoist in Black and Yu Ji are used interchangeably in some bios too even know the name Yu Ji shouldn't have been known when you get those character bios.
>an uninspired stage of floating rocks
Since this is at least the 3rd time in a row that they've done this you should realise by now that this is just the peak of TN's environmental design and "Historical castle + crystals" really is the best that they can come up with.
>beat the game >reading characters' background story because nothing else to do >read Xun Yu's >he was supposed to help us defeat phantoms of Zhang Liang, Zhang Bao and Zhang Jiao summoned by bad taoists in Qingzhou
Huh, I don't remember any of this. Seems like there should be 1v3 side missions against Zhang brothers that got cut
To be fair nioh 1 and 2 cutted content like crazy too to release it later as a dlc
SoP may be the exception because only one of the dlc has an actual new zone(yeah, only one zone in the whole season pass, the rest was recycled) and it came out almost one year after the game's release
It just says he helped defeat illusory yellow heaven guys which strengthened Cao Cao's army, which is what happened in the first few missions so it's likely a translation error like Illusory just means delusional here or something. The Guo Jia directory says literally nothing about a 1v2, only talks about that mission he already appears in. It isn't impossible that it is cut content, but considering how much timeskips take place in these games it's just as likely that it happened inbetween.
I am playing in chinese and it literally include zhang jiao, zhang bao, zhang liang name in xun yu's . Same with Guo Ji, literally "have friendly duel againest the protagonist with xun yu".
It says it like that in English too, but it's worded ambiguously. Xun Yu was involved with the Yellow Turban Rebellion in general and helping take down all the brothers, the mission description for Zhang Jiao's one even specifically states 100,000 yellow turbans which is what Xun Yu's entry is talking about with the reforming them stuff. Guo Jia's directory is talking about the dialogue you have with him in his sidequest, where he decides to stop fooling around and get back into practice which is what leads into him actually helping during Lu Bu's final moments.
It is most likely the Xun Yu one is referring to the main mission events, while the Guo Jia stuff is just lore events filling in the 6 year gap between the Yellow Heaven stuff and Hulaoguan Pass. IE, during that time we didn't experience as players Xun Yu, Wo Long and Guo Jia practiced. I don't see any contradictions personally, just awkward writing.
[...]
To follow up, I switch to Japanese and you can see the hanji names of zhang brothers in xun yu's bio >幻影の張角·張梁·張宝
Same with the Guo jia one >荀彧と共に主人公と手合わせをし
, the whole sentence of xun yu one is >主人公らと共に術士が生み出した幻影の張角·張梁·張宝を倒し >主人公らと共に with the protagonist >術士が生み出した borned by sorcerer (yu ji maybe) >幻影 phantom >張角·張梁·張宝 zhang brothers
It wouldn't be "fighting alongside the protagonist" if it's refered to the main mission. But more importantly, this event happened in battle against Qingzhou Yellow Turban remnants(殘党)which means after the fall of zhang jiao. You can google Qingzhou soldiers(青州兵) for that
And for Guo jia >荀彧と共に主人公と手合わせをし >荀彧と共に alongside xun yu >主人公と手合わせをし practice battle with the protagonist
If you read the 3 tigers bio the wording for pratice battle is the same.

havent played it yet but watched a few cutscenes. what do you weebs think of the fight choregraphy scenes with the "jian" sword? its kinda sloppy looking. the archers and spears guys look great though.
how the frick does equipment work in this game? how do I know if something is better than what I have equipped or not? is it worth upgrading shit? currently I'm just equipping whatever has the highest rarity + lowest weight
It Depends(TM)
The upgrade level is a lot more important than the rarity. Rarity only gives you more of the random bonus gems and slightly increases their values, but many of these gems are going to be useless unless you're tweaking them yourself. For a first playthrough when you're not minmaxing, aim for highest Defense/Attack values and use the higher upgraded pieces
Yes you will see higher upgrade pieces drop as you progress through the game, they do not keep dropping at +0. By the later missions everything that drops from enemies will be +6 to +8, and salvaging those will give you upgrade materials. You don't need to manually upgrade anything unless you're struggling and need to boost your stats a bit.
>1 main mission
oh this assault against yuan shao is the last mission? nice, i don't know wtf people were saying about this game being too short, it's felt even longer than Nioh 2 and i've just been doing main missions only
>i don't know wtf people were saying about this game being too short, it's felt even longer than Nioh 2
Because you're a moron that basis shit on feelings rather than actually counting the hours or a shitter.
the gameplay loop's just gotten stale, there's been no new mechanics or enemies for quite a few stages now and the morale mechanic makes the levels themselves braindead easy, i don't think i've even died on some of these levels because of how easy it is
boss fights are fun but this game's just been making me miss Nioh 2's more balanced stages, using a different weapon was also a completely different experience compared to Wo Long freshening up the gameplay

Who else actually like the game?
Only major problem I have with it is the performance. Other that it's only minor issues, and otherwise pretty good.
Not Nioh 2 good, but still good.
I do like this game, I would even say love
But it really needs shitton of qol improvements, like arrows being refiled from flags(it was in fricking first demo I think, or at least don't remember it being a problem last year), and being able to gacha roll on 5* gear from dude in village
Also with level limit there kinda nothing to do until dlc after you got set you wanted
Also desperately needs for more sub missions, like the one with first village being covered in snow
nope, not worth it until rising dragon
idea is that you can't reforge accessories and panda drop guaranteed 5* ones so you'll need to search them for good rolls.
But I just use good enough ones instead
>beat all the main missions in NG+ >area 4 still isn't unlocked
I don't have to beat all the sub-missions do I? It's already a drain getting these fricking flags again because I'm shit at the game.
It's completion percentage in that new giant circle on the Travel menu, not main mission completion. Have to do some sub missions, but getting all flags isn't necessary. Just sprint past everything and fight the bosses.
How the actual frick are you supposed to do the fight against the three ching chong chinaman brothers?
There is literally ZERO windows for attacking because one or two of them are ALWAY attacking you. If you deflect, then the camera targets the one you deflected, which means the other two are out of veiw and just spams arrows or fire pots at you.
This is TERRIBLE.
Yes, both incoming and outgoing damage is affected by morale.
I'm zapping some terracotta soldiers to farm equips ad my lightning damage increase by ~33% when going from 15 morale to 25.
I don't think the increase is linear though.
>Do not stay your blade. The only way to become the Wo Long™ is by cutting me down. >I have been waiting for this moment for Wo Long™! >So this is the power of the Wo Long™ Elixir Field!
Jesus fricking Christ, TN. A little on the nose.
>Won't be surprised if MC is still alive by the time Hiddy gets born
Nioh 3's going to end up with 4 protagonists, take place in modern times, and bump co-op to 4p. >William >Hiddy >Literally Who Long >Ryu Hayabusa
Metal is about stacking multiple statuses, not about dealing direct damage. Poison itself is very strong and will prevent any other debuffs from expiring while it remains active on a target so you can easily stack 3-4 different statuses on anything you poison.
>weapons don't matter because of the deflect mechanic >stats don't matter because of the morale mechanic
It's like they tried to make Sekiro but just had to squeeze in RPG elements for no reason at all.
Speaking of Rise of the Ronin - I really hope it's not just humanoid enemies.
That shit got insanely boring by the end of Ghosts of Tsushima and AC Valhalla.
I'm the opposite because humanoid enemies are almost always more fun than giant monsters. I also want the story to be more down to earth this time around instead of another case of "amrita/elixir, son"
Sekiro had way more than enough fantasy elements to be fine with mostly human enemies. Sekiro also only took me like 20 hours to beat it. It's absolutely fantastic, and I prefer it to Wo Long, but it's not the same considering this is going to be a open world game. You just know it's gonna be 40+ hours long.
>invade someone's world >throw two fireballs and kill both their NPC's >they use the Sabre Tiger Charge >instantly break them then one-shot them
Jesus Christ. I wish I had recorded that. That was a straight beat down.
>if you're not gud?
Deflecting an animation that you haven't seen before which has no reactable indication of its timing isn't about being "gud" it's about being lucky.
You can fit one charged R2 in there before she stands, but it doesn't break posture. If you do 2 jumping R2s the 2nd one will hit right as she finishes standing and if she doesn't go immediately into HA then you get a posture break.
He wasn't that hard. Got him on my fifth attempt. But every time I died it was just because of delayed attacks being cheap. Once I had seen the moves and knew they came out late it was fine.
I just wish they would stop making bosses like that.
It's only specific sections of some levels that trigger invasions which means even though there's no character level matchmaking the pool is gonna be lower on average.
Team Ninja games are less popular than FROM games, also if you're playing on PC it's gonna be lower.
Plus there's tons of people who got filtered by Zhang Liang, Aoye, or shit like cutscene crashes. I only started playing more due to the patch on Wednesday making cutscenes less of a gamble whether they'll force close the game or not.
If an NPC can invade you, then a player can. Which means there are very, very few places you can be invaded. And if an NPC invades instead of a player, a player invader has just lost his spot in the invasion.
It's INCREDIBLY janky. So despite the fact that there was 40k people playing when I took this picture, this was the amount of people I could invade.
Right now it's at around 35k and I get one invasion every... 5 or 10 minutes? Depending on how fricky the net wants to be.
>And if an NPC invades instead of a player, a player invader has just lost his spot in the invasion.
But the NPC invades the moment you enter the "invasion" zone, doesn't it?
I've only been invaded by npc's so far and I'm about 25 hours in.
From what I understand, there is a... sort of buffer. So most invasions tend to be at the mid or end of a map. However, once you cross a certain line, it "opens" your world to players despite the fact that the invader is two odd flags away. If you go REALLY fast or the servers are just being garbage, then invaders can miss it.
You really get a sense for this on the map with Lu Bu first encounter. Invaders spawn on the ramparts and often the players are down the bottom. Whereas the NPC invader only actually "Invades" once you hit the ramparts yourself. So the trigger for this invasion area is probably the flag next to the bridge down the bottom.

What Fire Weapons are there? As in, Primarily Fire Scaling????
I know there is a Sabre. Dual Halberd. Slashing Spear.
Anything else???
some swords have fire as their main.
Which ones? I really hate using a Sabre.
iron sword for sure is mainly fire
It's not as clear cut as that anon. There's a sword that scales with fire, as well as a regular halberd. Just hit the wiki.
don't worry about scaling or other stat shit. didn't matter in nioh 1/2 and certainly doesn't matter in this.
No the damage boost is quite a lot when you get to mid-late game where your weapons are upgraded and scale much more off your stats than before.
not really. I have 35 wood, 40 fire, 20 metal and these three +9 swords. 244 base, A+ Wo C- Fi A- Me is 550 total. 240 base A-Wo A+ Fi C- Me is 549 total, 249 base A- Wo C- Fi A+ Me is 555 total.
My Spear with the proper Stats is 677
respec'd to 99 fire, 1 wood, 1 metal. the A+ fire scaling 240 base is 571 total, the 249 base C- fire scaling is 540 total, the 244 base C- fire scaling is 531. the difference between A+ and C- seems to be about half a point of damage per level.
You have three 99s that's not proper stats that's cheating lmao
Not that anon, but I have close to that. I could probably get it closer if I got a Damage Embed.
yeah, don't know what that guy is on about. if 99 1 1 with an A+ on my sword hits 571 a spear being 100 higher with the A- and C- above 1 makes perfect sense.
Yeah, but if you equipped a weapon with say Fire, Metal and Water scaling that 99 in Fire will give it enough boost so that it doesn't notably fall behind. You will deal less damage, but not by so much that it really matters.
Did Wirriam join the fire nation?
Yeah, testing it out. Not really huge on the Slashing Spear, but Fire is fun.
spear has more attack that sword. it would have like 640 with random stats
yeah you gays said the same shit about nioh. you were wrong then and are wrong now. better to use whatever spells and weapons you like instead of worrying about gay stat shit.
>wrong about stats in Nioh
Stats could game break in Nioh. You're moronic. It's less important now, but at late game, it's still 100+ Extra Damage from focusing.
100 extra damage when weapons will have 4k attack like in Nioh 2 lol
>4k attack
>Wo Long
Weapons have around 500 to 550 attack. moron.
I'm sitting on 680+ Attack. That's like 20% extra DMG.
you're in early game
>I'm sitting on 680+ Attack. That's like 20% extra DMG.
that is not how the dmg formula works
the only time stats really matter (and even then not really) is when ultimate attribute skills start dropping which is so late most people won't even see them.
thrown weapons.
>thrown weapons.
damn
I was afraid of that
>thrown weapons.
Anon, pretty much every weapon has two As at +9.
Fire/Water bros, are there any one-handed swords for us?
You can make them yourself at the blacksmith, just mod a random 4 star one you come across
as much as I liked the game at the beginning, its repetitiveness is really starting to show half through the story; even the bosses, although fun, are pretty similar and follow the same pattern of waiting for the red attack to do the big dmg
> pattern of waiting for the red attack to do the big dmg
We know, we all saw your stream
lmao, was he trying to prove a point or why is he standing like that
He's standing still while holding block in preparation to parry, IE functioning on lower IQ than the average player of videogames.
If you can't tell what he's doing and what goes wrong in the clip you don't even play this game
he touched lb/l1
Then enlighten us poor unwizened peasants.
Was it autism?
That's a long post only to say that he failed to Deflect something simple.
Post your Millablockers homosexuals and don't reply to me about reaction times until you do
Do you honestly believe that attack is not Deflectable by pure reaction or common sense, anon?
Did you not read the post or do you just not know what reaction time is?
I mean, for starters the average reaction time converted frames is like 12-13 frames iirc so it's doable by everyone using your own metrics. Second, you're not purely reacting here because you have visual and animation tells on top of the game specifying the exact moment for you.
>I just react in 12 frames through input latency to subtle movement at the start of an animation
Milla Blocker, post it. This moron tier argument has been played out with FGC orbiters over and over again. Tell me more about how you just react to the hellsweeps. Show me a clip of you blocking the overheads and your recorded reaction time. Off you go.
What schizo rambling is this anon going on about friends?
Asmon. Just frick off already.
apologists and paid shills deserve the rope
I agree, e-celeb shills get the rope.
>anyone who doesn't agree with my infantile b***hing and crying is a shill
git gud
git gud
Please understand anon, he has brain damage.
Okay, now explain his thought process of lowering block just to get hit at the start of webm
First of all you can parry much earlier, it's not frame perfect. And the parry may even have negative frames where confirming damage is delayed.
Do you fundamentally not understand how reality works or what the frick is that post supposed to say?
I.e. you get hit, then after hit there are X frames till the hit is confirmed and you take damage, and if you hit parry within that X frames, you retroactively parry the attack (much like a rollback system, for instance). It's not an uncommon feature in action games.
Except you can see his health reads zero on the exact frame that the boss's model enters him. What you're suggesting does make sense but it's not what Wo Long does.
Here time stamp
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1758600134?t=5h19m05s
He properly explained why wo long bosses are badly designed compared to elden ring and sekiro
I do understand what he's doing. Unfortunately since he has brain damage he doesn't understand what he's doing.
he said "I will only counter red attacks that's the only thing that matters in this game" and he wasn't wrong
Please understand, he is legitimately brain damaged.
>waiting for the red attack to do the big dmg
that's not actually how it works. maybe you'd have more fun if you paid more attention to the mechanics
could you elaborate? I usually throw in a few attacks in between the deflects but it doesn't feel like it's worth it most of the time; my gameplay usually ends up looking like this: I deflect all the attacks, then deflect the red attack, press Y to do spirit damage and then use a spell to deal some extra damage, and then when the boss is stunned, I obviously do the crit thing
also, I'm by no means hating on the game, I actually like wo long quite a lot, so please do explain how I'm playing it wrong
>only one female companion
It’s a shit game
youll buy the DLC goy
what are the chances some modder mods out the flag nonsense
I like the flags, makes me want to explore the maps. We shouldn't have to unlock them again in NG+s though.
>we should start ng+ at max morale
the fundamentals of the system would fall apart if it did that moron
NG+ and subsequent playthroughs have always been about rushing to the boss; I don't think I've ever reached max moral, does it really makes a huge difference? I'm usually 15-18 when I enter the boss room.
>try to go for a cool wandering swordsman look with the assassin set
>hong jings hat would be perfect
>get it
>males get the wish.com knockoff version
BUT
WHY
Meh. I like it. Really completes the whole straw hat ronin look.
You're moronic, why the frick would males get the Hong Jing version instead of Zuo Ci's?
>Wo Long
This is what people say when they see my penis
the stats dont really matter what matters is the spirit dmg stat and how fast your combos come out, with the sweeping spear that has hammer's spirit attack the 1st hit comes out almost instantly so you can weave it between deflects very easily, unlike hammer/axe
>sweeping spear has the exact stats I use
>fricking HATE, HATE it's gaudy dancy moveset
I just want a basic, simplistic moveset.
>I just want a basic, simplistic moveset.
they dont really exist. ever weapon has twirls and spins and shit. including those in a basic combo you will use ad nauseum has to be violating some video game design code
Jesus christ did they really make martial arts on weapons random and no way to transfer? Its like they WANT people to only ever deflect red attacks
gearprostitute shit is always saved for dlc
I keep rolling for a glaive with accolades but there's only 1 in the game that doesn't have an orange skill so that narrows my chances even more
Frick this system so much
>I keep rolling for a glaive with accolades
I should try doing that for sabres. But the one I use is part of a set which makes it even harder...
What are you looking for?
>not using cheat engine to ignore Korean MMO stat autism
Nioh 2 was way more fun when I didn't have to keep grinding bosses for fricking skills or rerolling weapons. Just pick your favorite weapon and change the modifiers
Both Nioh-s would have been better without stat autism.
Tell me what weapon type is hidden here
It really bothers my autism
Does stacking a specific stat increase spell DMG?
yes. it also increases defense against the element it's strong against.
bump
What's the best Earth Based weapon?
unparalleled spear (zhao yun's)
went from the demo all the way to finishing ng+ with it
I'm trying to figure out if I should go Wood/Fire/EARTH or Wood/EARTH/Metal, with Earth as a focus.
personally I went all EARTH and just put the rest of the points into wood since I can't go past 99 earth until the DLCs
I liked Nioh and if there was one thing I didn't like about it, aside from all the cheese spells, it would be the deus ex machina parrying with 1kat or 2kat
it's ridiculous that you can somehow expect to not only stop an object of significantly higher mass than yourself coming at you at high speed, but to also completely absorb that resulting momentum and send that same object backwards with an equal or greater amount of force, while also dealing massive damage to it
there is a limit to bullshit and that is clearly beyond the limit
now wo long is parrying/reflecting the game, i.e. bullshit the game, or rather 2nd game because we had the same bullshit in sekiro
that aside, from a balance perspective, having a defensive action also being the best offensive action just means there is no need for any other move in the game
would be cool for a mobile game where you only have one button
>there is a limit to bullshit and that is clearly beyond the limit
NOPE 2KAT LMAO
>What's that? Something unrealistic, in MY demon hunting game about immortal wizards helping asian warlords defeat a semi immortal? INCONCEIVABLE!!!
Oh well, the game isn't for you. Just go back to Nioh 2 anon.
it doesn't matter. use whatever you like.
is force blow the shittiest spell in the game?
Why did this game flop so horribly? It's barely week 2.
works on my machine
How do you beat tiger's loyal subjects on the second difficulty? seems even more cheap than it already was.
run away and cast spells
by constantly running and attacking from distance while dodging firebombs and arrows
Hated every living second of it
You need 70 of element for subtlety set buffs, so keep that in mind if you want to level different ones
the triple boss fight? stand on the platform and spam imposing slab
>throw fireball
>host and all his friends die
Heh, outskilled.
if you run to the flag while being invaded just die like a dog, you're already a b***h
>fireball casting sissy invader fought me while i was fighting a headless big dude
>he still lost because of yinglong
hehehehehehehehehe outskilled
Hi Cody.
>get a guy with a Twitch name when invading
>immediately play like a huge scum bag
>kill him
>look him up
>hasn't been streaming in weeks
Dammit. Just once do I want to kill one of these homosexuals while they're streaming.
you are driven by the same need to be seen by an audience, you are on the same level as them. pathetic.
I'm going back to Nioh 2 now that I'm done with wo long, how many NG+ do I have to do to start caring about gear? I'm on Ng+ 1 for reference.
All of them.
I always cared about gear, even in ng. You should definitely start working on a build in ng+. That’s literally the point of the game almost
Do new sets unlock in way of the strong?
Probably. I don’t remember honestly
No. They start on Demon.
>What framerate shouls we aim for Hirayama-san?
>What's framerate?
kek, glad I'm not the only one who had chugging in that part
Rest of the game runs great except that one level at that one part
Luoyang and its sea of flames did nothing to your machine?
Did nothing to may ancient rig as well.
Although I had volumetric fog shit turned down.
Weirdly enough, no
It was only that one specific section of the water level that fricked up my FPS, and when it did it was legit like the game was in slo-mo. Burning city was kino and didn't have any problems but I also turned down volumetric shit
nope, the game very rarely dropped frames although my system is pretty overpowered for this outdated game
The dragon lightning hazard area is the worst area in the game because of fire and lightning particles making it chug like crazy.
>spawn in at 11 morale
>host has 14
>supporter has 22
>morons spam ranged attacks I dance through deflecting for minutes
I love not having my spells
How dies morale even work when invading?
you spawn in at fortitude and if they get flags after you don't go up
Waterchads ww@
Here I am.
Using dual swords and blue equip load. No damaging spells though.
bring back reviving allies costing potions like in sop
>do ng+ zhang rang with allies
>ally dies
>beat zhang
>nothing happens
fricking nice now i have to do this shit aids boss all over again
if the mission name is blue it counts towards completion, you need to do some side missions also to bump up completion to unlock more in ng+. can even skip main missions and unlock more if you have enough side available.
Browsing through some of these titles and I don’t think going unscathed against any of these bosses is happening
When's DLC
This. I want my Zhanmadao
What stats will it be? I'm hoping for...
>Fire (Main)
>Wood (Secondary)
>Earth (Third)
I don't know if that makes any sense, but those are the stats I'd like.
Apparently r*ddit hate the morale and flag system.
I personally agree with them. What do you guys think?
I'm fighting a boss in red morale in ng+ anyways
The argument of "it makes the game harder for bad players, and easier for good players" is stupid because that's the foundation of the souls leveling system, which everyone mysteriously refrains from complaining about. If you want to shit on it, it should be because of the flag reacquisition on NG+ or the % impact themselves, or the buildup speed, or the spell locking.
It doesn't make the game harder but it does become significantly easier.
I think it's one of those things that is pretty badly designed, but ultimately nothing more than an annoyance that won't be relevant after the first DLC comes out. I can't imagine ever actually caring about it beyond stating that it is dumb.
It’s shit.
Sometimes bad mechanics are universally agreed to be shit. Nothing special about it.
It's alright for first time playing, buy give it some lenience for NG+
My opinion, the only opinion that matters and most importantly, the CORRECT OPINION, is that it's GOOD for a first playthrough. But bad for NG+ and onward.
If you find them, they should be permanently found. But you can also press a button to reset them for whatever reason.
There you go. The best of both worlds. And this satisfies everyone. If you disagree with me, you're a homosexual and a loser and wrong.
>do the terracotta meme
>the terracotta keeps dropping +1 healpot use
my saved is cursed
I think morale is overblown, I've been trying to speedrun through NG+ (i.e. not killing everything, skipping flags) and fighting bosses at low morale is honestly not that bad. Then again I run a light armor build and die to everything 1 hit anyway so being low morale isn't a huge deal.
It makes things more tedious since you also do less damage. Especially if there’s adds or multiple bosses.
But things are already easier on NG+ as well since you’ve got good gear and you know the systems already
Because inevitably someone will say
>hurr durr not a problem for me! Gitgud! Obviously I knew this animation had a 4.7 second delay with 0 reaction time once it finally launches and kills you in 1 hit!
>the tigers are actually well animate!
I don't even think you can be one shot in this game unless you're forcibly doing a low morale run in light armour tbh.
>Visual context should let you react appropriately if you’re good enough.
And you're not good enough
>But nobody can argue the morale system is shit
That sounds like a challenge to me.
Why do people keep bringing up Dynasty Warriors? The game is completely different.
it's made by koei tecmo's B division with the same setting
The setting isn't unique to Dynasty Warriors. Dozens of games are set in Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Gameplay is completely different, and the publisher has nothing to do with the development team or engine... very strange comparison.
>Dozens of games are set in Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
name 5 that aren't made by koei tecmo with western releases
Just because it's published by koei tecmo doesn't mean it's made by koei tecmo. There's a reason publishers and developers exist
team ninja and omega force are subsidiaries of koei tecmo anon
I know. It still doesn't mean it's made by koei tecmo
That question is irrelevant to the conversation.
>I know. It still doesn't mean it's made by koei tecmo
turns out they're actually divisions, are you going to say that street fighter and monster hunter aren't made by the same company because they're different divisions?
Obviously they're completely comparable and basically the same game, duh. Hunting a Deviljho is basically the same as winning a tournament.
You are still conflating a publisher and a developer. We cannot continue this conversation unless you fix that problem.
no Black person, they're flat out divisions of the same company. now I know that ff15 and ff14 weren't made by the same company because they're different divisions. thanks for making that clear.
It doesn't even matter if they're part of the same company. Publisher gives money, developer has to do what publisher says with publisher's money. If publisher likes Dynasty Warriors, then you better make it like Dynasty Warriors. What's so hard to understand about that?
That isn't necessarily how publishers work. A lot of them just handle branding and marketing and act as a platform for the developer to publish, like a book publisher.
>completely different financial model
>what is an editorial department
And it also isn't definitely how they don't work.
>like a book publisher.
You're a fricking moron, my mother used to publish her books using local publisher, do you have any idea how many times she had to fight to leave her content as is? And half the time she had to make concessions just to keep some of her ideas in.
No shit, obviously publishers want to publish things they think are quality or meet their standards.
No, they often want to butcher the art of others in the name of making it more appealing to the masses.
You mean they just wanted to make them goyslops for the lowest common denominator.
parts of the same company =/= separate developer that is just given money. stop conflating parent company with publisher.
I'm not, I'm saying the notion that the publisher has nothing to do with the development team or engine is fricking moronic. TN being a division of KT is a totally separate issue.
So publishers can give developers money to do whatever they want with no demands or oversight?
Koei definitely is involved in this game. They fill the history autism and some moveset are reused from dynasty warrior
Same publisher and setting.
Speaking of Dynasty Warriors, which Dynasty Warriors have the best gameplay? I only played the one on the ps vita
Wo Long Johnson.
WOOOOOOO LONG JOHNSON.
Man the story and move set is kinda limited compare to Nioh 2
Nioh skill tree is perfect, i hate martial art so much
Nioh 3 fricking when?
At the current rate TN is shitting out half-finished games, 2025 seems likely.
You forget that they are making Rise of the Ronin now
No Nioh 3 in the works for sure
>Before even picking them up you can tell exactly what rarity the items are and whether the Equipment has a Set Bonus or not based entirely on the glowing particle effects
FRICK YEAH
>The particle effects appear for NPC set bonuses too and not just Graces
FRICK YOU
How to win invasions
>do nothing
>wait for them to blow their spirit on some shitty magic
>hit once
>fatal strike
>cast otg spell to finish them off
how is the game compared to nioh 2?
What are you talking about? Koei games are usually worse than this. Look at every single DW game.
What's wrong with the dynasty warriors games?
They're just always jank and a bit ugly. It's standard for Musou.
The jank is part of the charm.
I'm not denying it I'm just saying it's par for the course.
Dynasty Warrior games aren't AAA games, Wo Long is but it looks worse than many indie games
>Wo Long is but it looks worse than many indie games
Dunno, feels like it's their first game that looks like actual current gen console game
What went wrong?
KT is barely AAA
Back then SoP was the B team
still is, wo long is C team
Rise of the Ronin is the D team
it's original nioh team who developed game for the last 7 years without touching others projects
Nioh came out less than 7 years ago.
I know, but this is what they said about ronin in interview
bloodborne was developed by miyazaki before even dark souls dlc was finished
The original Nioh was in development hell for almost a decade and got reworks. There's a chance that they meant the original team worked on that first iteration of Nioh, which is not a good sign. But hey, I'm just talking out of my ass here.
Concept Hell. They said it took 5 years to start developpement when they got all the funding and everything sorted out in 2012. Which is slightly longer than the amount of time AAA games needed back then (4 years) but still within reasons.
I guess they meant it would have a 7-year dev cycle since Nioh will be 7 years old in 2024. Probably a mistranslation.
sony can't afford the D team, easily J team
>this wasn't made by Koei Tecmo because it just feels cheap
you clearly never played nioh games
or recent wild hearts
or literally most of games from KT
In my memory the only properly made KT game was first Hyrule Warriros, and only because nintendo moron slapped them on every step because they wanted something big for wiiu
>first Hyrule Warriros
on old 3ds it was KT quality
>In my memory the only properly made KT game was first Hyrule Warriros, and only because nintendo moron slapped them on every step because they wanted something big for wiiu
Persona 5 Strikers as well.
I remember item in nioh with -1 item for set bonus, can i have that in long jhonson please? I’m tired of running with dong zhuo glave
Yes it rolls on bows and armor.
In ng+ or i can find it in ng?
NG+, It rolls on 4* equips.
Is it a salvagable gem?
No it's where the set description would be. If you get it on a bow/crossbow it won't matter much.
Oh it's a grace?
It's called set requirement mitigation. It's not part of any set, that's just where it says it.
Does it not roll on 5*?
It does.
Accessories aswell?
Good god dude how about you ask all of your fricking questions in one post
You could have just answered instead of taking the time to make this post like a salty little b***h, frick you homosexual.
What are you, 12?
Choke on a bag of salty dicks.
yes
>NG+ and moral deficit
>luck on every piece of gear
>equipment drop rate bonus
>boss drops 2x3* items
This is absolutely awful.
Yeah it's pretty bad, I even have the spirit + the black smith weapon + an accessory with equipment drop on it (and luck).
Also I really think there some moronic system that prevents you to farm same boss again and again
Farming bosses is pointless unless you want their set, what are you doing?
NTA but the current 5* method is farming the subboss monke with full luck set.
Why do that when you can farm Terracotta Soldiers? I've been doing that very, very inefficiently for the past two hours or so and gotten 14 Five Star items + a ton of Salvaged Embed stats.
RIP then. You could try farming for normal gear since his equipment drops everywhere once unlocked, but in this case it's more narrow to fight him.
Whats the method? I've been getting a decent amount of 5*s but it's still slow af given how quick the farm is. I have like 50x of each embed though.
Kill Chink Smough & Ornstein, then farm the Terracotta dudes in the stairway beyond the 2nd battleflag in that new area where the moronic horse takes you. For whatever reason they're bugged or designed to drop a lot of loot.
I want Dhong Zhou's spear so I'm killing him in the story mission. Alt+f4 every time so I don't have to waste time rerunning the whole mission.
Demon lands has dropped 20 straight 5 star items for each 4 star exchange I did with it. Maybe that’s more reliable and a lot faster, what’s the fastest panda demon + battle flag so you can travel to the same level and it restarts the stage?
Probably a sub mission panda.
The flying swallow of heishan probably in act 3. It's on the right side behind a tower before the gate straight ahead.
If you drop gem fragments its always a 5* aswell, idk what the # is but 10 always gives 1. I'll try with 1 and see what happens.
1 gem fragment gave a 3*
I guess you have to give 10
Oh its also in act 2 not 3
Posted a video earlier today about invading a Cheater.
Invaded another one. This one actually had a hitbox, so I decided to see how many times I could "kill" him.
Here is the first one, I posted in the previous thread if anyone cares.
?t=53
Starts at 50ish seconds.
Tried to kill both by dropping them into the water.
>starts at Morale 12
>kill him so many times, you're at morale 17 by the end of the video
Hahahaha
Holy shit anon, how do you hit so hard with your fire.
Stacked Flame Attack and %DMG though I don't know why my DMG was so high here. I usually do half that. So something is obviously broken with whatever trainer the guy was using...
I'm level 150 and so was he.
too be honest you have shitton of hp too
>dude, you have a shitton of HP
>that means I need to cheat
>what? You just leveled your Health stat?!?!?!? NOT FAIR I'M IMMORTAL NOW
No one said that though, it's just weird how his fatal blows removed less than 20% of streamer hp. Even with him having 99 in wood and still using fire magic since week ago
He used Earth Roar several times to reduce damage he takes. Not only that, but with the anon constantly killing him, he's increasing his own Morale (DMG and Defense) and decreasing the other guys.
Any nude mods yet?
Why is there no fanart
>tn makes a chinese-themed game based off nioh
>it's soulless neutered garbage
kek
I'm happy for you anon.
Sucks being you
You don't engage more than one enemy if you can avoid it.
The only super unfair fight is the 1v3. The 1v2 submission isn't amazing either.
>The 1v2 submission isn't amazing either.
It was closer to nioh ninjas, with while you still backpedalling most of fight, you still could properly use openings
3men gank squad is unironically something special with how well they covering all their bases
Yeah the 3 man team was the perfect team, really frustrating to fight.
How do I transmog?
You don't
Why not
The game doesn't allow you to. Probably will come with DLCs.
Go to the blacksmith and press "Decorate"
You can only decorate with armor you've found.
Even the sold ones?
yes
Once you got armor once it unlocks for both transmog and world drops
People compare this game to Sekiro and I get it, it's the easy comparison, but I feel the deflect system is more an expansion of the Burst Counter mechanics from Nioh 2 tbh. There's no flow to deflecting like in Sekiro and timings are all over the place.
deflect is literally soul shield from sop
no it's not moron
> cpu, gpu, fans and overall temps spike whenever you open menu/use flag/etc
> if you press online lobby your pc can blow fricking up
Sorry i haven't played Wo Long, i have been busy playing a real fighting game.
Wow, I remember that flash game.
>finished ng
>just clicked that you can just extract the gem from embedding instead of salvaging
i never embedded any gems all ng anyway, just normal stuff from the list
no you don't, that's now how this works. Who keeps saying this?
You can though
The only gems you can collect to put into other gear are the ones with wheel icons next to them, and you will get them when you salvage.
>and you will get them when you salvage.
Or through changing slot with embedding
Right, but nobody is seriously going to go into embedding and select the individual gems they want instead of just salvaging their whole inventory. If you haven't noticed you get more cash from selling the salvaged israeliteels than you get from selling the gear, so you should be salvaging everything and selling israeliteels any time you get near to 9999
I kept all 4* except dupes for entire ng
I keep all 5* except dupes for my ng+ too
check the journal for salvage anon
Guys... hear me out
Wo Long Johnson
Why do hair shadows on characters' faces look so shitty? Even on the highest settings they're lower resolution than PS2.
spear users are kicking my ass in pvp
Just parry it bro.
Consider the following!
Marriage with Baishe!
She's devoted solely to her lady.
I'll marry them both!
We will have a serious discussion in the village by this evening..
Please admonish me, Hong Jing!
Isnt there a story about a guy marrying her?
Yeah that's probably about me
>martial arts
I have never had a good result using martial arts in pvp, ever.
swift lightning usually kills people after fatals, I don't know if it's down to my timing or theirs
I had a bit of success with soaring phoenix, usually when the host is panicing though. 1v1 against decent players and they always parry it.
So apparently the Earth phase defensive buff that gives light hyperarmour prevents you from being staggered when you get parried, don't know if you're the guy who was already using that or not but you should try that out and see if it makes PvP playable.
doesn't work
my webm is part of his arsenal now sorry
NPCs can redcounter you in this game?
No, though they really should. He's invading.
no
STOP
USING
MARTIAL
ARTS
well that sucks, you can see a guy having his normal attack deflected without being interrupted here:
So maybe it only applies to normals
he gets interrupted when he runs out of spirit at the very end, and getting red countered does a shitton of spirit damage to you
Oh that's true, it probably fails in this webm just because you're completely out of spirit
I had a gut feeling it might be the samegayger who saves webms and renames them to pretend to be other people. Literally nobody who played the game even on normal difficulty thinks MAs are useless let alone half the stupid shit I saw them post.
MAs are useless and will get you killed
>I had a gut feeling it might be the samegayger
Meds now, you are obsessed with this guy lol
>who saves webms and renames them to pretend to be other people
That webm has the same exact name, and shows the point quite clearly
Yea I've seen my own webms reposted several times with the same filename, I often don't even bother to rename from the shadowplay file so they have a full date and time in. Some absolute autist actually copied the full name with date and time just to impersonate the original post.
It's some extremely autistic shitposter spammer that has been malding about the game before most here even knew the game was coming out.
and he always uses the same phrases and webms so he's easy to point out, whether or not he tries to pretend to be other people or not
>Yea I've seen my own webms reposted several times with the same filename
I saved two webms like this one that is probably yours, and automatically got the same name saved. Didn't try to "impersonate" anyone and I certainly don't post Elden Ring webms. The name is saved with the webm on Ganker read
>this is what filters zoomers nowadays
>6 flasks
Yeah, he clearly on intended level fights him
look at boss morale it's NG+
>name is saved with an addon
alright fair
>Samegayging this hard again
Post the elden ring webms and frick off
Actual brain problems unironically, please end your existence
Why would you ever used them lol???
They are shit in PVE as well
i found this tard whining in a different thread lol
>95% of the boss dmg comes from deflecting critical attacks
BIGGEST shitter cope I've ever seen
>TN defense force stalks random anons across Ganker and keeps a spreadsheet of every filename
I really don't think that the guy posting a webm in more than one Wo Long thread is more autistic than the guy stalking anybody who posts a webm. You probably should be less of a homosexual to the people posting content if you want your precious threads to survive.
Shouldn't you be samegayging and posting elden ring webms like you've been doing for a year?
oh you're actually that one schizo who assumes everybody who replies to you is the same guy who has lived in your head rent free for a decade. Stop posting any time.
>>95% of the boss dmg comes from deflecting critical attacks
>BIGGEST shitter cope I've ever seen
He is right
go back to bumping the 2 dead threads you've got in the catalog
He is literally right
In the best case scenario MAs are a waste of spirit which you want actually capped for the spirit attack and maybe blocking
In PVP they are an "I WIN" button except for the opponent
>In the best case scenario MAs are a waste of spirit
Nah there are a limited number of MAs which are actually very strong, it's just that the majority of common MAs on weapons are trash and never worth pressing. You have to actively search for the ones that are worth it and then you'll be forever stuck farming gear for the right MA rolls because skills on weapons are random.
Sure you can find some good ones, but the majority
>Aren't worth it in terms of economy
or
>They have a long wind up that possibly fricks you over and a sidegrade or not much better than light light light spirit
Now imagine if you could parry from any animation like in elden ring and sekiro...
>Wo Long combat's already been "solved" and the end result is not that interesting
Man the panic from Nioh gays is hilarious.
I prefer Nioh too, I'm just stating that Team Ninja tried to do this and failed with the new mechanics, not defending their execution. They even couldn't refine the actual interaction mechanics to properly fit this weapon variety
What are the best weapons with unique martial arts for each type? Are there any unique martial arts that suck? Guding blade or drought demon?
Guding blade is so slow, i kept getting killed using that on bosses because they never have opening for more than 1 or 2 attacks. Good for trash mobs though.
Why was embodiment of genuine qi so underwhelming? The fight felt unfinished, same with Yuan Shao. Did they run out of time near the tail end of the game or something?
Dragon was a spectacle fight tied to Yu JI, not an actual boss. Yuan Shao fight is fully finished, he just didn't get given any hard moves.
Probably cut content but they forgot to re-edit character's bios. I notice that Taoist in Black and Yu Ji are used interchangeably in some bios too even know the name Yu Ji shouldn't have been known when you get those character bios.
>an uninspired stage of floating rocks
Since this is at least the 3rd time in a row that they've done this you should realise by now that this is just the peak of TN's environmental design and "Historical castle + crystals" really is the best that they can come up with.
>beat the game
>reading characters' background story because nothing else to do
>read Xun Yu's
>he was supposed to help us defeat phantoms of Zhang Liang, Zhang Bao and Zhang Jiao summoned by bad taoists in Qingzhou
Huh, I don't remember any of this. Seems like there should be 1v3 side missions against Zhang brothers that got cut
And I go on to read Guo Jia's, him and xun yu were supposed to challenge us in 1v2 mission. Game is already short and there is cut content
see
To be fair nioh 1 and 2 cutted content like crazy too to release it later as a dlc
See
, the whole sentence of xun yu one is
>主人公らと共に術士が生み出した幻影の張角·張梁·張宝を倒し
>主人公らと共に with the protagonist
>術士が生み出した borned by sorcerer (yu ji maybe)
>幻影 phantom
>張角·張梁·張宝 zhang brothers
It wouldn't be "fighting alongside the protagonist" if it's refered to the main mission. But more importantly, this event happened in battle against Qingzhou Yellow Turban remnants(殘党)which means after the fall of zhang jiao. You can google Qingzhou soldiers(青州兵) for that
And for Guo jia
>荀彧と共に主人公と手合わせをし
>荀彧と共に alongside xun yu
>主人公と手合わせをし practice battle with the protagonist
If you read the 3 tigers bio the wording for pratice battle is the same.
To follow up, I switch to Japanese and you can see the hanji names of zhang brothers in xun yu's bio
>幻影の張角·張梁·張宝
Same with the Guo jia one
>荀彧と共に主人公と手合わせをし
I find it weird that the unique martial arts that cast element buffs only do it for fire
prz buying dlc
we make it for you there ok
Can someone of the pc gays take her clothes so she's in underwear?
That is her underwear.
>This is your brain on Rachel
You're gonna drink of a glass covered in the shitty lipstick she used after sucking someone's wiener aren't you
What did he mean by this?
He means Rachel sucks wiener and that you probably lick her wiener smeared lips
We all know rachel sucks wiener anyways, her design leaves no doubt
Do you people actually use the deflect counterattack regularly
It's the ki pulse of the game. It's harder to use sure but it's very good to do so.
Yes all the time, but mostly as an offensive option to continue attacking, not an actual parry.
Is that the R1 + circle? I never used it.
Best divine beast?
>leveling water gives you stealth
Lame
Ice magic is sexy though.
just hold block and jump
there's your stealth
And also lowers deflect cost
It only lowers the cost for fricking up deflects, which seems useless
havent played it yet but watched a few cutscenes. what do you weebs think of the fight choregraphy scenes with the "jian" sword? its kinda sloppy looking. the archers and spears guys look great though.
how the frick does equipment work in this game? how do I know if something is better than what I have equipped or not? is it worth upgrading shit? currently I'm just equipping whatever has the highest rarity + lowest weight
wobros? help?
It Depends(TM)
The upgrade level is a lot more important than the rarity. Rarity only gives you more of the random bonus gems and slightly increases their values, but many of these gems are going to be useless unless you're tweaking them yourself. For a first playthrough when you're not minmaxing, aim for highest Defense/Attack values and use the higher upgraded pieces
>use the higher upgraded pieces
Do these ever drop upgraded? I don't know whether it's worth it to use my already scarce leather and steel or not.
How/where do I salvage? I've been selling all my trash for copper but I'd rather exchange it for scraps like in Nioh 2 if I can.
the same bawd that upgrades your stuff can salvage it
WHO'MST'VE? that b***h only showed up in one mission am I supposed to go back there every time I want to unload my shit?
You must be super early in the game, if you haven't unlocked the hidden hub village then just keep playing a bit more
yeah I just killed the boar
You're 2 missions too early, then.
I keep getting dual invasions with dude playing a Blonde Waifu character.
Pretty fun.
Are there any datamines for DLC yet?
what if i level every stat to 40
Level cap stops you I think
Max level is 150. If you want balanced stats you don't get the fanciest magic.
honestly, this game is kinda getting stale, how much more do i have left? just beat demonized liu bei.
1 big main mission and 1 small
Frick you positioning schizo
Go play Elden Ring
Meds
you're so bad at being a schizo, find a new hobby
Seek help now
>can't find any invasions
>fine I'll do co-op
>another guy gets summoned
>has infinite spirit
I hate these fricking homosexuals so much. Cheaters deserve the rope.
break out the curse dagger
You know - I recognize that name.
That cheating homosexual invaded me. Infinite Spirit again.
>chinese name
50% of chinese players online are cheaters, every time I ran into a cheater in BFV it was a chink-ping guy with runes in their name, without failure
>50%
You're being too generous.
PUBG went through a huge ban wave of cheaters a few years back and 99% of them were Chinese.
>50%
>always a bug person
Incredible.
Fought this piece of fricking shit again.
Almost killed him when I killed the host, but the homosexual just used Invincibility and revived the host.
Really need a fricking insta-kill cheat to kill cheaters.
Why do Chinks do this?
They REALLY need EAC
When your entire existance is an IRL MMO grind in an overpopulated hellscape, you really lose touch with the reality of things. There's no such thing as joyful and stress-free competition for fun anymore.
chinks you see online are from land of freedom called taiwan though, and from king kong
Mainland ones can't play with others
>can't play with others
They can. They use a VPN to get over the great firewall of China.
They are typically lagging like crazy or teleporting.
>online games through vpn
It's not even about lagging, it's physically impossible to play like that.
I once tried sea servers in mmo, and got 600-1000 ping from europe. And that's without fricking vpn inbetween
Man, how come our internet is so fast rn but we still haven't found a solution to latency
What? Lmao
Literally everyone in commie China has a VPN
god i hate chinks
every time i have a bad experience online, it's a chink
Are there any kind of cheats you can download to kill them through their Immortality?
I play on Console. But I remember that being a thing for Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 3 for killing cheaters.
What is a good secondary stat for wood?
you have to commit 100% to your virtue. you're not the avatar you dont get to use any of the others.
fire, metal, earth are all equally good as secondary stats
Who else actually like the game?
Only major problem I have with it is the performance. Other that it's only minor issues, and otherwise pretty good.
Not Nioh 2 good, but still good.
I do like this game, I would even say love
But it really needs shitton of qol improvements, like arrows being refiled from flags(it was in fricking first demo I think, or at least don't remember it being a problem last year), and being able to gacha roll on 5* gear from dude in village
Also with level limit there kinda nothing to do until dlc after you got set you wanted
Also desperately needs for more sub missions, like the one with first village being covered in snow
haha fireball go brrrr
finding kodama in nioh was worth it, what about lil panda homies?
Not really.
only for the achievement
nope, not worth it until rising dragon
idea is that you can't reforge accessories and panda drop guaranteed 5* ones so you'll need to search them for good rolls.
But I just use good enough ones instead
>beat all the main missions in NG+
>area 4 still isn't unlocked
If I don't raise marking flags and am below 20 fortitude, do the bosses do higher dmg ang have bigger hp?
fortitude does nothing if you dont die
Yes, both incoming and outgoing damage is affected by morale.
I'm zapping some terracotta soldiers to farm equips ad my lightning damage increase by ~33% when going from 15 morale to 25.
I don't think the increase is linear though.
kino
>Do not stay your blade. The only way to become the Wo Long™ is by cutting me down.
>I have been waiting for this moment for Wo Long™!
>So this is the power of the Wo Long™ Elixir Field!
Jesus fricking Christ, TN. A little on the nose.
>the dragon then comes to our aid
>we become a part of Dragon Elixir Field
Won't be surprised if MC is still alive by the time Hiddy gets born
don't get my hopes up
>Won't be surprised if MC is still alive by the time Hiddy gets born
Nioh 3's going to end up with 4 protagonists, take place in modern times, and bump co-op to 4p.
>William
>Hiddy
>Literally Who Long
>Ryu Hayabusa
Is there a way to make metal work?
The 40 metal poison spell does fricking nothing.
Metal is about stacking multiple statuses, not about dealing direct damage. Poison itself is very strong and will prevent any other debuffs from expiring while it remains active on a target so you can easily stack 3-4 different statuses on anything you poison.
>weapons don't matter because of the deflect mechanic
>stats don't matter because of the morale mechanic
It's like they tried to make Sekiro but just had to squeeze in RPG elements for no reason at all.
The Morale Mechanic is completely bullshit. I hate it.
Weapons do matter though.
Same. I love fighting human enemies. The best encounters in NG in my opinion are the ninja enemies.
You don't need giant monsters. Nioh and Sekiro had fantastic monster fights with monsters that weren't gigantic.
It's when they add shit like pic related, is it too much and completely moronic.
Sekiro was mostly human enemies and it was fun all the way through
Sekiro had way more than enough fantasy elements to be fine with mostly human enemies. Sekiro also only took me like 20 hours to beat it. It's absolutely fantastic, and I prefer it to Wo Long, but it's not the same considering this is going to be a open world game. You just know it's gonna be 40+ hours long.
>invade someone's world
>throw two fireballs and kill both their NPC's
>they use the Sabre Tiger Charge
>instantly break them then one-shot them
Jesus Christ. I wish I had recorded that. That was a straight beat down.
Nioh 2 is better but this game is cool as well, I played the demo and I'll probably pirate it later.
elemental damage% is better than wizardry spell damage%, right?
Tried the demo. Is deflecting bosses just learning when the attack actually lands through trial and error if you're not gud?
>if you're not gud?
Deflecting an animation that you haven't seen before which has no reactable indication of its timing isn't about being "gud" it's about being lucky.
That's literally every game.
>NG+
>get filtered by Sun Jian harder than Lu Bu
Fricking delay city.
I perfectly dodged waterfowl dance first try
buy a lottery ticket
>Not sidestepping the charged upward slash
>Wasting all your stamina with subpar jump attacks when you could have charged R2
ISHYGDDT
You can fit one charged R2 in there before she stands, but it doesn't break posture. If you do 2 jumping R2s the 2nd one will hit right as she finishes standing and if she doesn't go immediately into HA then you get a posture break.
>Dong Zhau
I fricking hate delayed attacks so much.
You have to memorize the timing, instead of intuite it.
just block the stabs bro
He wasn't that hard. Got him on my fifth attempt. But every time I died it was just because of delayed attacks being cheap. Once I had seen the moves and knew they came out late it was fine.
I just wish they would stop making bosses like that.
What allows for invasion anyways?
I’ve only been invaded by 1 legitimate player I think. I assume most of them are NPCs at least
It's only specific sections of some levels that trigger invasions which means even though there's no character level matchmaking the pool is gonna be lower on average.
Still seems low for a release game
I always had constant invasions in dark souls
Team Ninja games are less popular than FROM games, also if you're playing on PC it's gonna be lower.
Plus there's tons of people who got filtered by Zhang Liang, Aoye, or shit like cutscene crashes. I only started playing more due to the patch on Wednesday making cutscenes less of a gamble whether they'll force close the game or not.
getting near a flag protected by a big guy (the flag is red on the map)
on some maps the area is very large like Lu Bu's mission
