In two or so years there will be a version for the same price that includes all the new characters they added so far.
They have done this EVERY TIME even with SFV where you didn't need to buy a new version to get the characters late adopters git everything for free and they even gave it away on subscription services at that point.
There's just literally no reason to get it this early unless you are extremely serious about SF or the FGC but the FGC has been dead for a long time now. Ten years ago I would have bee hyped but these days early adopting a fighting game is a waste of money.

Or moderately serious or even slightly enjoy the competitive aspect. Part of the charm of fighting games is learning with the community over time. Can't imagine being that frazzled over having to spend maybe $100 extra bucks over the course of 7 years on the game if its a genre you enjoy.
