  1. >Oh no, I got caught and killed by the EMMI, now I have to replay the last 30 seconds, fuck you Nintendumb!!!

    You poor poor baby.

You kids are spoiled. Imagine forgetting to manually save and losing hours of progress.

  2. if an EMMI catches me, i just shrug since there’s really no consequence. for such a menacing obstacle for samus, it really doesnt do jack shit.

hey should patch it so when an EMMI catches you, a random save file on your switch gets deleted or a purchased game on your nintendo account gets nuked and you’d have to buy it again

QTEs were never inherently bad, they were spammed to shit when they were ""new"" because they were seen as a good cool thing, it’s just that they were overused and abused down to the ground, many of the ills of the industry started as fresh and interesting things that only later got a bad reputation (usually rightfully) for being shoved down everyone’s throats nonstop.
Regardless, this isn’t even a QTE, it’s literally a parry and the EMMI one is approaching frame perfect, so git gud.

  4. You can’t lose progress to an EMMI because they shit out checkpoints like rabbit pellets.
Ironically this is an actual flaw of the game because it takes the EMMI from a threat to a irritant.
If you weren’t given constant checkpoints and EMMIs were more dangerous they might instill a sense of Dread.

    • Idk this morning I had a moment with the 2nd or 3rd one where it was coming towards me unalerted without into a corner. Only choice was jumping over it in cloak. That hail mary paying off was easily as exciting as the final boss.

  5. >randomized parry timings
The fact that it’s Nintendo of all people who did this astounds me and not fromsoft astounds me.

    • >the QTE is supposed to be a 1 in 10 possibility of a second chance
Why are you wording it like that? It’s 100% if you time it right

      • What’s the tell for when it changes the second attack and it just immediately stabs you in the head instead of moving its head closer and opening its face

that means you blew off its face plating
i don’t even know if you can parry it if you’ve done that, but I’m pretty sure that only happens when you blow off its face

  6. The first couple were fun but the last couple that could see through walls and shoot a constant barrage of ice or wave beams at you in half underwater zones so you can’t move for shit were just tedious. Plus the purple one can scan through fucking walls and the zones are half the size of its detection radius

You get an autosave literally every single time you pass through an emmi door.
Why do people not even PRETEND to play the game they shitpost about?

    • True QTEs there aren’t many, if you’re caught by Emmi you have a frame perfect QTE chance to escape. Also Chozo-X needs a qte to kill them. Otherwise it’s just the melee counter opening up enemies/triggering cinematic counters for bosses.

If anything, the EMMI were too easy.

  9. Damn, my condolences anon. I hope you can earn those two minutes back somehow. Maybe by getting gud next time. Also, you CANT lose progress on the red EMMI you dumbshit, it’s a scripted event. Post better bait next time!

  10. I actually quite like the Emmi and Mother Brains, they are an interesting take for an alternate boss fight idea for Metroidvannias, where the challenge is getting to a point in the map.

I’d like to see more enemies like this.

    • I liked the EMMIs themselves but the Central Units kind of sucked. They should’ve changed up the fights with each one of them more, even if it was just changing the room layouts or giving each one different kinds of projectiles.
