Maybe. But i'm not sure. Yeah, I LOVE first game and can't appreciate some improvements added to SS2 but hey it's a sequel! We could even have nothing, but there's evolving story and it's objectively better than 1994's release.
I enjoyed both for what they were worth. Still it irked me that SS2 drops in quality after the first bit of the game, then becomes a bit of a chore. Lore is great, it just suffers from being rushed.
SS1 is top notch because of how much it ramped up towards the end. Great climax, amazing level design, cheesy enemies but it was great fun bashing enemies with the rapier.
While I agree, they're also completely different games to the point it's essentially a sequel in name only.
