wtf? it's literally illegal to resell in japan? what kind of 1984 bullshit is this? Posted on May 15, 2023 by Anonymous wtf? it's literally illegal to resell in japan? what kind of 1984 bullshit is this?
We had the same non-resale rule on bundle in games like JSRF on the Xbox in the West you stupid weeb.
Every Japanese DC game had this.
This shit happened everywhere you sperg
Sale the Notforhog
That's a store demo not intended to be shipped to customers.
You are actually a brainless zoomer here’s your (you) fag lord
nah those came with sega genesis consoles
How can anyone be this retarded? They were all like this from the genesis bundles. What are you 11?
My favorite Genesis bundle game was NOT FOR RESALE the Hedgehog
Mine has to be Vectorman with a sticker slapped onto it
Back when I was younger I thought the "not for resale" was a message from Sonic, like he was saying "you better not sell this game" with his 90s attitude.
In b4 someone writes a creepypasta based on your post because they broke their unspoken contract with Sonic.
The point of this label is that it's part of a bundle and not to be sold separately by retailers.
Sometimes they don't want you reselling sampler stuff, I know this sounds alien to you but thats how it is.
here's a nice example, look at the disc
does this mean its illegal to resell stuff in the west? no, it means that you OP are an idiot who thinks NO RESALE applies to everything and not just sampler shit.
>Zoomer chudie Bait
Lemme guess, you are a reseller speculator?
retards and mentioning 1984. name a more iconic duo
Seeing a baby boomer refer to something mundane as "L I T E R A L L Y 1 9 8 4" and then get flustered when you ask "why?"
It was so shady merchandise carriers didnt remove box-in games from consoles and resell them at full price
This. You see it on food items as well. You'll see candy bars with "NOT FOR RESALE" and other snacks. Because they don't want Hajeeb at the gas station buying bulk boxes then selling the snacks individually.
So they don't want poor people to be able to make money from stupid people. It's all just semantics and literally 1984 bullshit.
Shut up little kid, adults are talking.
Whats up with the no sale outside Japan thing
That goes against international trade laws
It's wishful thinking.
You can write any old shit on a product and hope the consumer is stupid enough to believe it.
With the intellect of the average punter, you'll probably get an acceptable amount of voluntary compliance.
>You can write any old shit on a product and hope the consumer is stupid enough to believe it.
"Warranty Void if Removed" stickers.
Like, all arcade japanese version had that screen at the start
It makes sense that a publisher that has no legal representation abroad would want to keep its business to domestic markets. There are also copyright issues and other problems that could arise in overseas markets, so a publisher that lacks the resources or interest to deal with that shit can just put up that disclaimer. That way they cannot be held responsible for anything that happens outside of their domestic market. It has nothing to do with racism or elitism. They're simply covering their asses.
When it comes to japs it actually comes to racism
They literally have one of the biggest used retro markets on the planet
resellers on suicide watch!
No its not retard. Used games are a larger market here in Japan than anywhere else. Thats probably just a sticker on a demo disc or a something a publisher put on to trick people into buying new games instead of used ones.
>wtf? it's literally illegal to resell in japan?
dude, they also have stickers that say rental only, sale only, and sale & rental
it's not just no resale so drop the vitriol
Retardation aside, NoA's Howard Lincoln (aka the Baseball garden gnome) was a puppet of Yamauchi's NCL empire who tried to woo Congress on illegalizing used games.
require over 21 y/o ID in Ganker
Is it true you can't rent movies or vidya in Japan you have to buy it?
