SE isn't going to do either of these because the former will actually make people leave and the latter will get them bad publicity. The only thing that can make them leave is if something better than what XIV offers pops up.
They should do the same the WoW team does: They very slightly fuck with models with each patch in a way that doesn't affect the game but requires every character mod to be updated. This means someone releasing a mod has to do constant maintenance which curbs the modding scene a lot.
if they implemented anti-cheat in this game that could prevent trannies from modbeasting this game would die overnight.
The game deserves that for even allowing those disgusting degenerates any breathing room in the first place.

The story only makes sense if you look at it from the perspective that the Ascians are throwing hard on purpose. It is the only way eternal beings with their powerset loses.
They aren't the immortal gods they were anymore, only Emet-Selch comes close. Laha is fucking nuts and turns out it was actually some evil-half-fragment of his full psyche anyway, Elidibus has mega-dementia and the other Ascians aren't even Ancients, they're just us except with Ascian job stones.
Sundered Ascians like Nabrieles were able to drag people into the fucking rift on a whim, and Funnydanny could even teleport us against our will and knock us out long enough to mindjack us. That isn't to even mention that at anytime they could just fuck off for 60 years until the current WoL is a worthless 80 year old hyur.
Elidibus was using WoL to rebalance the world after the seventh calamity. By the time he realized he created a monster who was actively gunning for them it was too late to fix. Hiding wouldn't help. Plus Emet-Selch was hoping to lose.

The WoL isn't finite though, Azem has been on the source since the beginning and will continue to be after we fucking die. If the Ascians had known that the player character isn't just "a" warrior of light, but "the" warrior of light who inspired Hydaelyn in the first place then I'm sure they'd have been less complacent. But none of them remember that happened until we killed Hades and he got his memories back.
Dragons can dive into the Rift and WoL had already made many dragon friends. They wait 15 years and Middy can just wake up again and give WoL a ride. Plus the method of their immortality is the Echo which WoL could also learn to use properly in that time.
These are silly arguments. The main point is you have a set of powerful beings in a universe that can teleport anywhere at any time, and in the same universe gas like Black Rose can exist that can kill the WoL in potential futures. At any time they can ruthlessly murder whomever they wanted, including the WoL. They just don't because otherwise the story would be boring. They have to throw to carry the plot forward. You can't just warp in nukes wherever you want or the little alien gets upset.
The WoL is supercharged by bullshit though. Putting him in an unwinnable situation literally powers him up. They succeeded in killing him in the dead timeline by being more subtle than that, I'm sure the Ascians know from experience that just teleporting an Azem shard into a ridiculous, unwinnable situation is just letting him engage his bullshit powers as main character of the universe. I'm sure this was true of Azem-proper as well, the impression that you get is that the more outrageous the odds the more comfortable Azem would be (and the more stressed Hades would become)
Any time the WoL is in an unwinnable situation he is saved by an Ascian mcguffin. Everytime.
Nobody knew WoL was Azem until Emet saw you at the start of ShB. Plus Varis pulled the trigger on black rose, the Ascians didn't plan that at all they just realized it was light aspected and would work out for them.
Bit weird how nobody realised WoL is Azem's reincarnation. But I guess it's to account for non-hyur players seeing as Emet doesn't say WoL looks exactly like Azem if you aren't a Hyur
Most of the Ascians had incomplete memories. Only Emet-Selch was really in a position to recognize the WoL, and he does immediately though he's in denial for most of the ShB MSQ. I suspect Elidibus knows as well, but he doesn't remember who Azem is exactly, which is why he becomes so obsessed with us.

At a glance your soul (which all Ancients can see to some extent, which is why the masks don't matter they don't tell people apart by the face) looks exactly like Azems. It is only when they look more closely do they realize that you are far too aetherically weak to be an Ancient, so the immediate assumption is that you're a familiar made by Azem from his aether, which is almost partly true I suppose.
Plot twist: WoL IS Azem, not their reincarnation. Amaurot expansion someday, mark my words.

I'm pretty sure this is going to be revealed to be true eventually. Azem didn't side with the Convocation or with Venat, he left to find his own way forward. I would not be surprised if he did some shit prior to the star being sundered to enable some future victory. Maybe so that we do eventually succeed with Venat's plan and defeat Meteion or perhaps for a greater overarching plan that'll eventually be revealed.

They made the crystal tower raids a compulsory part of the MSQ, theoretically everyone should have known G'raha prior to the ShB MSQ. I think it would have been fine not to do that though, and just let confused people consult other sources to fill them in and then they can go back and do the alliance raid or job quests or whatever after the fact if they're curious
it's not the same graha anyway. nothing that happen in the CT raids matters to ShB. You get all the context you need from the local quests in the shitty researcher camp.
If the CT story was good it wouldn't be a problem, but it's among the worst in the whole game (which is saying something) and the raids themselves are trash too.

The entire reason that G'raha is doing what he's doing is because he's madly in love (platonic or otherwise) with the WoL from the time they spent together during the Crystal Tower raid. His insane dedication in the dead timeline and the hundred years he spent as Exarch are entirely motivated by CT.
yeah they wanted the reveal that it was g'raha and what he'd gone through to be a big emotional moment and they wanted the player to care. if you leave them with the option to skip CT then everything about g'raha and the wol's friendship becomes weird because the wol is just ok with letting this complete stranger who has obsessed over them for a century into their lives.

I think the Alliance raids are meant to provide that kind of experience, "raiding" through a space instead of queuing into single rooms. I would prefer a more classic style of raid again as well, but I'm not naive enough to think that it'd happen.

Since the catslut is both an obsessive historian and obsessed with the WoL, he used the great power reserves of the Crystal Tower to emulate the spell.
He learned it in the bad future, and Elidibus was so disturbed by G'raha's memories of that bad future that he completely failed to notice that G'raha had a plan to kill him. Something fucked happened before G'raha came to the First, and considering Elidibus started freaking out it could be that he learned that spell from Emet somehow.

Azem was quite imperfect in terms of the Ancient understanding of the idea, but the seat of Azem appears to have been the most martial seat (Venat isn't just a mage like the others she fights like we do) so I can understand Azem being thought of as the most effective warrior amongst the Convocation. Which is why the seat is the odd one out I guess, the other members of the convocation are sort of philosopher mage kings who find fighting beneath them and focus on bureaucracy, creation and diplomacy. Azem is the seat of action.
