Why are there no Hitman clones?

I'm just holding out until Freelancer mode comes out, tbh.

There was one around the PS3 era. The Saboteur or something? Hitman is rather niche at the end of the day, stealth isn't a huge market

The Saboteur isn't even remotely similar to Hitman. It's closer to something like Far Cry.

finally got back to paying through hitman 3 since the china level constantly crashes on my computer. Visually the level was cool, but now im starting to really see the james bond complaints. The objectives were fine but I hate when levels auto alert all the guards on you and you and then everyone can just see through your disguise for no reason. The level also railroads you through a shitty stealth section by blocking all other paths off with fire or gaurd placement. Also, exposing ICA again to the public is a dumb blot point and hitman was better when the story was like blood money, or contracts.

No one was able to strike in the PS2 era when experimentation was cheaper. Now keeping up with mainline hitman would be a huge undertaking for a very questionable financial return, basically the same as why there aren't any elder scrolls clones.

Honestly i wasnt to excited for freelance mode. I guess it could be cool and a natural extension of stuff like the blood money randomizer but it just seems like a trendy gimick.

Yes. It's more simple and has a smaller scale than other missions but it's very fun. It has great music as well.

47 your target is the monarch of the United Kingdom. There has been recent turmoil in the British parliament which has resulted in a new prime minister. The Queen however, has not met them yet and so does not know what they look like. You may be able to use this to your advantage.

if IOI wanted me to play only clean assassinations, then they shouldn't have given me 15 different assault rifle and shotguns
Besides New Zealand, what other levels lend itself well to the "fuck it just shoot everything" playthrough? I'm guessing Colorado might work well

dartmoor is decent for it. basically any map with a number of guards on the lower side, and have them spread out and the map be enclosed enough that you dont just get swarmed by 20 guys instantly. taking the block in chonqing by force is always fun

Miami, just go ham on the crowds

hokkaido was pretty good for it, at least the dlc version where its justified to shoot everyone if you fuck up like i did

Bangkok, New York, or any vertical level where you can start at the top and work your way down.

Thanks bros, next time I get a chance to play I'm about to turn the game into a domestic terrorism simulator. At least it will be very gratifying with some of the more annoying levels

I have the same problem with MGS too. The game rewards you for autistic tranq-only runs but then gives you a fuck ton of fun lethal weapons

I think MGSV did it pretty well by giving you a decent close range and long range tranq option relatively early alongside not punishing you as hard for killing people. Still though it's hard to do a no-kill stealth run when you can give DD a knife and helicopter in with a machine gun and a RPG and LARP as Rambo

Was a ton of fun, but holy fuck, there's no need for all this "elusive target" and "escalation" shit. Just make new levels.

The amount of detail in Hitman levels means they take really fucking long to make (just Paris took a few years iirc) so they try to squeeze as much content into them as possible

        >(just Paris took a few years iirc)
To be fair they were also making the foundations for the entire game at the same time and admit Paris is way more complicated than other maps as a result

the only time-based content in the whole game is the elusive targets (not to be confused with elusive target arcade) that show up every few weeks. you get one shot at killing them (once you kill them you cant restart, and if you die at any point, you just lose). there are rewards for completing X number of ETs, as well as map-specific suits - ie. a suit for killing an ET on sgail, hokkaido, etc.

        >3 is lacking in content compared to the other 2 games
Hard disagree. It has less explicit mission stories, sure, but they were pretty unnecessary anyway, at least in the quantities 1 and 2 had them in. You'd do a couple til you'd learned the level and then grinding the rest for 100% was just a chore. Other than mission stories, I can't see a metric by which 3 has less content than the first two games

1 dlc is pretty good, particularly patient zero. Worth it's price, I'd say. 3 dlc is dogshit, literally the only redeeming feature is the unlocks and like 2 or 3 of the escalations. If you can get it for 50% off or better, just buy it and grind the unlocks, otherwise just avoid. There's nothing in there you can't live without

Hitman 1's definitely is. Aside from The Icon, which, admittedly, is complete and utter garbage, you get:
      >Landslide, a mission for Sapienza that actually uses the city
      >A House Built on Sand, a mission that redeems Marrakesh somewhat by, again, actually using the city
      >Patient Zero, a fun little story campaign set across the Hitman 1 maps
Shame Hitman 3 just gives you escalations and not actual missions.

, a mission for Sapienza that actually uses the city
I really wish we got a mission that actually used all of sapienza. The main mission is just the mansion, and the bonus missions are just the city, its so weird. It feels like disantis was supposed to be out roaming the city and it got changed at the last minute or something. Everyone raves about the map but I'm just not a fan because of how poorly its used.

Patient zero is legitimately really good. The first two missions are some of the better "just-reuse-a-map-and-call-it-a-bonus-mission" missions in the whole trilogy, and the latter two are fucking fantastic. The sniper one redeems colorado, imo, and it ultimately gave us sniper assassin, which is pretty cool, and then the patient zero mission itself is just fun as fuck for how out of hand things can get.
