Great game, many positive reviews. Most people, the overwhelming amount of them, enjoy Bannerlord.
I think people that don't like it just have shit taste.
wish i could be as butterbrained as you, anon
the game is 90% unfinished content, you praise a pile of laziness rather than encourage its completion. you are satisfied with half-measures because you live a half-measure life
abandonware
they fell for a turkish trick - their gamedev studio was shoved into a college campus, which at the time seemed like a blessing until they realized the intent was to turn them into a turkish subsidiary studio
now they have an insane turnover rate because all their work is being done by interns flushed in and out of the team. it's why the entire game feels like a giant testbed, why towns have so many inexplicable not-even-half-finished systems and random interractions that don't lead anywhere
whatever this game was, is just a playground for interns with no passion for the product to frick around with
And it's not even just a handful of guys like with the original Mount & Blade (which got made in like 1/3 the time as Bannerlord), now it's a team with DOZENS of people.
Boggles the mind that shit like this can exist. It's like a money laundering scheme
I find the player count on this game to be more fascinating than any game ive seen. The MASSIVE drop post launch but the nonstop consistent 20,000+ at all times ever day of dedicated players.
The massive drop was expected cause mountainblade is not a casul game but the meme advertisement for a decade caught the eye of millions of casuls.
The community though is so absolutely dedicated, such consistency so for so long.
Also, the multiplayer died like < 2 weeks after release and I never was able to find a game since, even though 20,000+ are ALWAYS playing. I really like the multi in mountainblade.
i'm amazed you people can not only witness but historically account for inconsistencies like this and not even question it. absolutely domesticated, surely those are all living breathing people playing the game, they must exist - it says so right on the page!

Ok anon. Use your devine wisdom to inform us on the real FACTS
what do you mean? anon can't even find a multiplayer game despite 20,000 active players for 2 consecutive years. do you think there's no way to artificially bloat a playercount to an extremely specific number in order to occupy a higher spotlight on the popular games algorithm? do you think this is the first time it's been done? have you never actually stopped to question it?
it's okay, don't forget to get your next booster 🙂
This anon cant take meds cause he thinks it will cause the aliens to locate him. Jokes aside, talking to people like you really sucks. Do you know that? You dont have a single useful thought, just trying to degrade and cause doubt without a single ounce of substance, ever.
Is this game good yet? I was told to just keep playing Warband until it is "finished". What makes it so bad in comparison? Like what actually went wrong?
Nothing, if you arent a spaz it's an upgrade.
Here's normal gameplay from some dude https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLrjx7I2fxE
Some people will say its just the same with a coat of paint, boring.
Some people will say X system is missing or different therefore its too different and shit.
Some say Y system is BROKEN even tho thousands of players do just fine with it.
Some miss mods
I played it when it released and it was incredibly buggy. Like honestly nothing worked. Not even the most basic shit you'd expect like the character perks, skills, smithing, siege AI, even field battle AI was just blobs, fief management etc. they were simply not functional, everything was fricked, crashes were very common. Equipment was barebones as frick, there's no variety in how the soldiers/nobles of the same type look and it's made even worse by the fact that they're now all color coded in their faction's colors too like some RTS. The combat, especially mounted combat, felt way worse than in M&B and Warband. You had to use some polearm to make it work at all, 1H swords or maces just couldn't even reach the enemies like in the old games, it's not fun.
And the worst part was that even if it hadn't been buggy and the combat was still just as fun, Bannerlord still would've been nothing more than a soulless reiteration of Warband. There's nothing in there to make me say "yeah, this shit is awesome and it's really time to stop playing Warband and play this one now". It's a nothingburger. They spent a fricking decade developing what is a downgrade across the board and even if it gets "fixed" (which I really doubt) it'll still just be barely more than a poorly made graphics mod. Nobody played M&B for that.
I was expecting some amazing polish in faction politics, fief management, sieges, battles, combat responsiveness and animations, overworld events, character customization and equipment and everything but got this pile of shit instead. Ten years.

Post your warband hours
Steam says 300 but it's well over that.
Bannerlord is better.

it didn't happen cause it's still unfinished as frick and never will be finished
im just waiting until there's a mod that fixes the ugly as frick faces everyone in the game has
The last patch finally added some content. Now you can take over alleyways and sally out during sieges.
Hopefully the big mods will come soon.
Severely lacking content. Gameplay is extremely repetitive. Feels like a better looking warband with less shit to do.
TEN YEARS of devtime...
absolutely incredible how much they fricked it up
yeah it blows my mind they've been developing this game for like 11 years
what the frick did they do that whole time?
Unless you're Valve extra dev time doesn't help the game. It actually makes it worse.
And it's not even just a handful of guys like with the original Mount & Blade (which got made in like 1/3 the time as Bannerlord), now it's a team with DOZENS of people.

Make, cancel and redo from scrap the engine. The first 6 to 8 years were spent working on the engine and some concept art.
I like it and still play it every week.
Then again, I have a life.
Maybe stop collecting anime figurines and get a job. Eventually you'll become a man and learn to enjoy Bannerlord.

upvoted! what a downder that guy is!
only think happy thoughts haha, we're all gonna make it bros! check out my new funko pop on the discord
Like a machine, you respond with things youve seen said thousands of times. No substance, ever.
Or because people play in Singleplayer because it was and is still is the main appeal of any M&B?
How the frick does this game still have bugs that have been in the game since the fricking alpha?
I'm still mad
town management sucks ass
even delegating town management sucks ass
I like that you can take control of criminal alleys and can ambush siege engines during siege preparation but I wish they worked faster.
I'm still playing Warband.
Has this game been updated to be more than a reskinned Warband yet?
>To be more than a reskinned warband
Mate, it's not even that
If anyone ever claims Steam reviews are a good indicator to the quality of a game, I reference this game.
Just once I'd like to see the AI form square and couch spears against my cavalry charges.

It has always been better than vanilla Warband, the latter just has way more elaborate and complete mods available.
not really

they should just say frick it and start migrating to Unreal 5. bannerlord is already outdated.
what a disappointment
I'm just glad people are still making/updating Warband mods.
What are some of your current favorite mods?
I really, really like Aut Caesar Aut Nihil. It's like the Rome autist's dream game.
Is this the famous battered woman syndrome I keep hearing about?
