It's has extra stuff. I mean it's a remake of a game that's older than most anons. Anyone who that cares about DQ has already played the original a half dozen times or more.
Typical Ganker, finding an example of a bad extra thing and then immediately assuming all the extra things are equally as bad.

Yes, anon, that's exactly how it works. One bad thing of this caliber heralds the imminent appearance of even worse things. You don't need to play the rest of the game to know that the creator isn't out to do the source material justice - all he wants to do is include his oc donutsteel and friends in the game where they have absolutely no place and do not fit.
As usual, this isn't an "honest" remake or tribute to classics - it's just another retard's platform to try and sell you something.

If only it were actually trivial easter eggs.
The main dev himself shows up at the Inn in Kol, and specifically tells you (as a hint) to go get a Puff Puff, then look at the Records screen.

These people want you to know THEY did it and no one else.
Rather than allowing the work stand on its own, their narcissism demands that they remind you at every turn that *THEY* made it, pay attention to *THEM* instead of the work.
Signs of a fake fan who isn't making the game for its own sake - they instead make it to try and prop themselves up.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the added post-game dungeons
Just how bad are they?

they are great and totally add to the experience. i love content. much better than anything the creator would do.
Dragon Quest 1 on the SNES is like a port; same game that you played on the NES but with enhanced graphics. While DQ+ is like a remix/redux with more features and QoL improvements.
its one of my favorites. theres not a bad game in the bunch though, save maybe the last couple hours of 2. >lmao every mob in the final area of the overworld and final dungeon can sweep your entire party if it feels like
truly epic Horii
emulated with speedup isnt terrible, prince 2 is still hot dogshit, but yeah squeenix should have done the ds treatment to 1-2-3 making them a little more approachable >NOOOO CASUALIZED
The snes versions will always reign supreme
>This game is only compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11. Linux/Wine/MAC/EasyRPG and RetroArch are not compatible. >It is recommended to play this without AMD products. Many users have reported performance issues with AMD CPUs and GPUs. >Please restart your PC before playing this game. There may be memory conflicts with systems with less than 32GB of RAM. This should solve the issue.
Excuse me?
It's fucking RPG Maker 2003. How the fuck do you manage that with RPG Maker 2003?
That's from the initial release. The page was updated to show compatibility with WinXP and Win7, as well as Steam Deck. Linux/Wine/MAC/EasyRPG and RetroArch are still shown as not being compatible.
The retarded dev used outdated DynRPG garbage from almost a decade ago to dev his shit when he could have (and should have) just restarted and rebuilt it with the RM2k3 Maniacs Patch. Would have infinitely fewer issues and run better overall.
Yeah it's good so far. I ran into a skeleton that almost destroyed me.
HOLY SOUL
name?
Dragon Quest Plus but google doesnt help

Thanks for sharing this OP, I needed a comfy game to play right now.
Just play the SNES version.
shut the fuck up tripf*g!
Are you guys really this retarded? He's right, the SNES version already looks great and authentic, why would anyone play this?
having options is good, its also a REMIX so if youve done 1 to death its cool to check out. DQ deserves romhacks
I already played all of the versions of DQ1 out there, so this one is new.
It's has extra stuff. I mean it's a remake of a game that's older than most anons. Anyone who that cares about DQ has already played the original a half dozen times or more.
>extra stuff
the dev inserted fucking usernames of his friends/paypigs into the game because dumbshits these days just can't fucking help themselves.

That's kind of shit, but it's a free fan thing. It's kind of forgivable with the other stuff that was added.

people need to shill new things constantly. its a mental illness. doesnt matter that dq1-3 already have competent sfc ports by master horii himself.
Hmm
Is dq1 really worth replaying

2 is the only one I didn't finish
And X, which I never started
Someone should remake 2 so I can finish it
