They're early access-ing for all the improvements that might potentially be buggy, especially considering it's a japanese dev trying to pc

Why are you saying the original developers who have the entire art, music, code and idea can't make the game PC. It's like saying Valve can't make Half Life, oh wait.

Isn't that basically the Hard mode of the PSP version? It even rewards you with an extra mission in the ending if you decided to go Ending B I think.

What are the benefits and downsides of Rosary VS Roswell? It's been a while since I played so I only remember Rosary had a fat Luck stat and Roswell beats the frick out of Aegina (I think) and can Warp for some secret items.

        Anonymous

It's no contest. Rosary's dump stat is Attack, leading to her losing many battles that her counterpart Roswell could easily win without using food items on her. Even disregarding that, Roswell has teleport movement at night (required to get a number of things spaced many maps apart).
Rosary's advantages (fire immunity, can summon golems instead of skeletons) either don't matter because of her weak attack or are insignificant.

        Anonymous

        Rosary
        >Fire element so she can survive Gulcasa's wrath to some degree
        >High luck so you won't rely on Milanor for kills or Steal card
        >Female so + shape union is easier to use, but you might have too much later on

        Roswell
        >Dark Element good against Aegina and Lucina later but can frick him at the same time
        >Balanced stats easier to use
        >Warp at night which can be useful to some extent

I mainly use Rosary for item collection though so I don't have much idea how great is Roswell.

I've never beaten this game. I seem to recall it's very very stingy with how you play it in order to build your characters and cards properly and I always fricked myself over just winging it.

      Anonymous

It is unironically a game where you need to have a guide around to know where hidden items on the map are. The card system is both interesting and overly punishing because it means all battles are effectively turn limited.

        Anonymous

Apparently the hidden shit you need a map for will be (optionally?) marked in this version

          Anonymous

Thank god. It was stupid as frick that you basically needed a third party source to know where half the hidden shit was in the game on GBA/PSP.

The Japanese are just built different, they always find shit like this. There's 1 tile in fire emblem 4 in the middle of nowhere you can stand on to get a secret conversation and people found it. Note that FE4 maps are this big.

Blame steam, they do this for visual novels and adult games. Yes even when the developers clearly say it's 18+ steam will block the game until it gets removed. Only when you are lucky, the person who is doing a bad job at Valve will not be working and get actual 18+ content through.

both shit. PC version is better

      Anonymous

Because people expect "4 homies in a row" game when they pick up an RPG, and that automatically comes with the thought process of just grinding and overpowering to progress. They can't process the need to strategize with the thought of possibly sacrificing something or someone in return. It's why Knights in the Nightmare got shat on and it's why Mystery Dungeon (especially Shiren) scares them

        Anonymous

You'd think shiren would be a hyper-popular series with the modern fascination with "roguelikes". But I guess it's too actually roguelike to appeal instead of having some overarching progression bullshit.

          Anonymous

I like Isaac and RoR, but it's slightly difficult/tedious in the beginning and then you snowball in becoming a force of nature. It's this reason I think vampire survivors got popular, it's like a bonus on a casino game where it builds up into a jackpot. Shiren is the opposite where you'll have some moments where you're Mr. Farenheit, but get humbled pretty quick. You can feel you're at the end of the dungeon and your anxiety while you calculate each movement increases. Even PMD encapsulated this feel pretty well.

      Anonymous

      >And why did it filter millions?
Card system was probably the biggest reason why, really. You spend a card a turn for mobility, damage, and a spell, and you only get one use of it for the entire map. Now figure that into how the game wants you be efficient with your actions or you get stuffed by extremely strong bosses. Bosses that can and do kill your units that will permadie like old Fire Emblem games do. Made worse by the fact that your units actually have to rest in the GBA version or they suffer penalties. Oh, and on top of you having limited turns/moves, you also need to know specific tiles on the map have a hidden item for you to get that can be the make or break for how difficult the later maps get. The GBA version was brutal as frick.

      Anonymous

      >And why did it filter millions?
You dont heal in between battles essentially you do but simplifying
