Ok so I actually looked up what it is. And now it’s like “okay but why limit it to the vectrex” if people want a vector monitor to play old games on, why target an out of print 80s console with a weird screen size, and not making some direct control circuitry for normal ass black and white tubes
I know it’s easy to say “uhh well just do <thing> lol” but doing it with the vectrex honestly seems like a harder thing here.
I don't get the appeal. BackBit is still around to play vectrex games (from an SD card instead of caveman tier usb flashing), and as much as I like real vector arcade machine graphics, playing decolorized and cropped/distorted emulated ports just aint it
>Product discontinued >Hasn't been sold in a year >Any places that had remaining stock are long gone >Literally cannot buy it anywhere >Creator has zero intention of ever making any more
The virtual boy is the biggest pain in the ass console to get running. You need so many weird little bits compared to snes or something.
Also if you peek through the viewscreen eyeholes on mine, there is a tiny dead centipede dangling right inside the casing. Would be cool to sell it for 500bucks and not tell the zoomer furry who won the auction. Honestly i think letting the centipede RIP in peace is a good reason for me to do the av-out mod.
This is why I have massive FOMO about the production of console mods and new stuff for old consoles, especially if that console sold less than a million units. Because so much shit is made by just one (usually mentally unstable) person.
And if that person can't continue making the product, or doesn't feel like doing it anymore, or just straight up fucking dies, that's it. It's gone.
Luckily this dev uploaded the schematics, but many don't. And even so, I don't know who to contact to get one or two of these made.
Well before the war in Ukraine, I was paranoid about something happening to Krikzz. Granted, I'm sure that if the worst happened, the team he worked with would still be able to produce Everdrives, or someone else would come to make new flashcarts, or we'd have to turn to chink clones, but I still don't like that possibility.
That reminds me, you did get that N64 dual-HDMI/RGB upgrade before they were forced to remove the RGB side of the components and make it HDMI only... right?
>or we'd have to turn to chink clones, but I still don't like that possibility.
oh no the horror of a competing product made by equally mentally unwell individuals except for a fraction of the price and just as good build quality >mfw that chink n64 everdrive that cost like $60 and plays more games than the n64 one of double the price
i hope these mental nutcases keep getting humbled like that, i wanna see alternatives for every fuckin console that's owned by these cunts.
That's what you get for template posting.
>ruining hardware with a shit mod like this
No.
>You DID need someone else to build a simple retarded mod for you, right /vr/?
lol. no.
They'll be on AliExpress in a few weeks, just keep an eye out.
Why would I do this? I did finally manage to get one of those VB flash carts after like 3 fucking years of waiting.
>tfw only found out about the VecFever after they went out of production
jesus christ at that point just make your own fuckin flashcart with an eeprom socket

Man all i want is that one controller adapter that is compatible with all the games.
Just buy a nice pair of anaglyph glasses and emulate

I don't understand the appeal. I'd rather play the games using the headset
what do you mean? the pcb files and firmware are literally on furrtek's github. just make your own you retard.
Irreversible mods are disgusting, OP
this
how about drilling ugly holes in your own skull first OP

I've got my N64 Digitals if that's what you're talking about.

this says a lot about retro game console mods as a whole

Why in god's cock would I ever want to play virtual boy?
