Ozempic just makes you not want to eat. Yes, fasting works. Internment fasting 16/8 every other week is a really good way to shed pounds with ruining your metabolism. The problem with these crash diets is people do it for too long and then their bodies adjust to not eating anything by slowing their metabolism

I swear to God, sugar is worse than heroin

        Anonymous

Well heroin is obviously a lot stronger and destructive
The sinister nature of sugar is that unlike heroin, you can't realistically quit it. Getting clean off heroin is tough, but once its done you have a good chance of never relapsing
Sugar, however, is everywhere. Unless you're a sage living off water and celery, or rich/attentive enough to avoid ALL products with added sugar, you'll be exposed to the addiction over and over for the rest of your life. Food addiction is similar. You CANT avoid it entirely, your only option is to manage it

I've done keto several months at a time and yeah, thinking about it, you're right. It's such a fricking pain to stay keto consistently unless you just stay home all the time. It's made me instinctively hate people offering me food, because 100% of the time it's sugary crap, not something nice like beef jerky.

protip: protein and fat are the most satiating macros. If you get hungry between meals, have a protein shake and wait 20 minutes. Replace carb heavy sides like fries with fat heavy sides, like cheese on veggies (keeping the calorie count the same). And of course never drink your calories. Always choose zero calorie drinks if you're not drinking water.

        Huh?

          Anonymous

The saying refers to things like drinking juice or soda that are lots of calories with zero nutrition. Protein shakes don't count because they're like 95-5 protein-carbs. A 25g protein shake might be like 120-150kcal, but for most dieters that's not going to break the bank on the calorie budget. Unless you're like doing 1000kcal/day diet, in which case yeah you're probably drinking like 4-5 protein shakes and maybe having a bunch of celery to fill you up.

You should generally take cancer studies with a grain of salt. There's a lot of studies out there showing how X and Y and Z can give you cancer yet the correlation isnt always causation

Perhaps, but I don't consciously believe it. Double but, I know that subconsciously I do believe things I read, and I superconsciously do know and choose to distrust big pharma, so I don't take drugs anyway. So now my sub and super conscious are in alignment and I continue to maintain my bodyweight by adjusting calories, macros, and physical activity as I choose.

The LAST thing I would want is to be convinced that some big pharma or big food chemical monstrosity isn't dangerous. I'd rather listen to tinfoil hat wearing morons who are probably right anyway over some nerd in a lab coat with a PhD who consistently turns out wrong a decade later.
