You now live in the timeline where Giratina-Origin is a Gen I Pokémon.
(Held items do not exist in Gen I, so Origin Forme is the only Giratina that has ever existed. There is no Griseous Orb.)

Gen 1 Giratina's stats are as follows:
>HP: 150
>ATTACK: 120
>DEFENSE: 100
>SPECIAL: 120
>SPEED: 90

From Giratina's current movepool, Gen 1 Giratina would limited to the following:
>Body Slam
>Cut
>Double Team
>Dream Eater
>Earthquake
>Fly
>Hyper Beam
>Psychic
>Rest
>Slash
>Strength
>Substitute
>Swift
>Thunder
>Thunderbolt
>Thunder Wave
>Toxic

However, as this is not in line with Gen I's design philosophy (of these moves, it only gets Slash via level-up), we will also give Gen 1 Giratina access to:
>Bide
>Dragon Rage
>Double-Edge
>Hypnosis
>Leer
>Mimic
>Night Shade
>Psywave
>Rage
>Shadow Force (not a Gen I move, but we will let it keep its signature move)
>Slam
>Skull Bash
>Take Down
>Teleport
>Wrap

Your questions are:
How does Giratina change the Gen 1 Ubers metagame?
How does Giratina's early introduction to the world as Pokémon #152 change the trajectory of the Pokémon franchise as a whole?

    >gen 1 gets an ugly overdesigned digimon
the franchise would be dead on arrival

Have you seen the beta mons from the first 2 gens? Those kinds of designs were always considered, they just got scrapped.

        >they didn’t put them in the game!
        Precisely my point, zoomzoom.

I think being in Gen I would stop it from looking as "overdesigned" as it does in Gen IV. Remember that Sugimori made the original watercolor artwork for each Pokémon by looking at the sprites first.

    >literal satanic dragon as one of the most powerful pokemon in the game
Man, christgays would have had a field day with this one

Would have appealed more to some edgy kids than most of Gen 1 which is fine, it's one design out of 152. It'd also basically be a dedicated teammate in Ubers alongside Mewtwo due to the insane Special and HP stat. Body Slam, EQ, Hyper Beam, Psychic, Thunder, Thunderbolt, and Toxic all stand out as fine moves for it but I'm not as read up on the jank of Gen 1 as I'd like so there could be some good niche picks in there. Shadow Force still wouldn't be great because it'd basically just be begging your opponent to swap to a normal type.

yes. without a real ghost type move this is just an ubers dragonite with higher bst and better defensive typing. even gave it wrap.

also two turn moves are b& in comp cause of an invincibility glitch. even if the move was good you can't let people randomly become invincible, you'd have to ban it.

    >Effectively replaces Mewtwo as the "super strong, rare, edgy" mon that appeals to young boys more than any other
    >Receives all the dick-sucking that Mewtwo would have gotten
    >Three movies centered around it
    >Two megas in Gen 6
    >Playable in Super Smash Bros
    >Final boss and playable in Pokken Tournament
    >Wields a giant butter knife in the Adventures manga for some reason.

The best thing of this timeline obviously.

But would we still get Giratina as, canonically, more akin to a loveable moron animal in this alternate timeline?

Mewtwo's giant spoon was in reference to spoon bending.
