Programmers in japan are seen the same way as manual laborers, and are appropriately paid that way too.

Most jobs have people that do that now.
There are lawyers who quit law because being a law influencer on tiktok or youtube pays more.
Same goes for programming, financial services, running a farm etc.

High paying jobs careers have less people coming over and doing Youtube because the income from those jobs are higher for the most part and stable than doing Youtube. As side income, it's okay but I haven't really seen anyone that eventually stopped doing it or it becomes their full time thing with very few people in between. Most people I find that had these jobs and quit for Youtube basically did it during entry level years where yeah, Youtube would pay more than those jobs in the short term but getting senior level in any of those jobs basically can net you past what Youtube can pay unless you are on the list of the top 100 creators on Youtube in any single category.
The other real reason is dissatisfaction with the field but very few have credentials that would make their opinion of their field be worth anything and it would be outdated quick, especially regarding programming if they aren't hoping on the latest languages and framework and doing stuff in them.

No, work is work, it's not supposed to be fun. If it was fun, they wouldn't be paying you for it.
