Roleplay-wise, how would your hero react? The fortune teller in question has been eerily accurate on many occasions before, so there is reason to believe their words.

Proofs?
Thank God.
I got into adventuring as a form of suicide. I can't just off myself because of religious views, so I have been taking adventures with crazy high chances of death and SOMEHOW keep surviving.
>I became an adventurer because I want to die yet I can't stop winning!!!
The latest hit Light Novel from Japan
It's also basically a Dwarf Slayer. Keep slaying things until you find a thing that you can't to settle honor and whatnot.
This. I'm basically playing my current ancients paladin as a kind of druidic mujahideen. She welcomes a return to the soil with arms outstretched.
You'll get your Slayer-Oath filled, lad.
Good.
All the best stories have a foretold doom in them, what kind of homosexual question is that?
Undeterred, in fact he's surprised he's gotten as far as he has.
No shit, dungeons are perilous as hell.
This actually happened to a Necromancer character of mine. The party was attending a bazaar taking turns interacting with various merchants and attractions. That Necromancer was generally a pretty easy going and accepting guy and for that party he was almost always an advocate for non-violent resolutions. In this specific scenario though, he had just raised his first ever undead the night before, and was subsequently super high on the typical "I am Death's master, I am Eternal and Everlasting" Necromancer shtick.
The gossip about the wizard throttling and yelling at some old lady over a bad fortune didn't go over too well with some of the locals.
I had it happen to my old team, a prophecy of doom that our new characters had to fulfil or they’d perish.
They said frick it, and went for the perish option. And survived. Picking option C is a pretty big theme of the entire campaign.
>that was an expected possibility, but if I stop everyone I care about may perish.
>I would appreciate if you kept this from my mother.
They're a crisis management robot. This sort of stuff kinda comes with the territory.
I'd investigate to make sure the fortune teller isn't poisoning people.
>Yup, that's adventuring for you. Now, about those horse races tomorrow...
I inform the fortune teller I've died horribly numerous times already on this adventure, and ask for more specificity on the nature of the death.
punch the fortune teller in the face, if they didn't see it coming their predictions aren't worth shit
I keep adventuring because I know this is a 4d chess thing where I would try to avoid fate but end up falling victim to it in my attempt to avoid it.
You can't outmoron me lady
I calmly respond with "Correct" and then explode myself in front of her
Isn't this literally just a normal thing for heroes in mythology? I know Cu Chulainn had this shit pulled on him, Achilles too.
My current one, an angry little goblin, would probably see it as a challenge and get super hype about the next big fight.
>"Uh, wait...this demise has nothing to do with bats, right?"
He worships Humakt he fully expects to die in battle like his grandfather and father
My game of choice has traditionally been Shadowrun, so yeah, I think that's basically the standard, isn't it? You build up a nest egg, retire, and hope no trouble shows up to murder you later, you get pinched, or you get smeared all over the pavement. Lifers are idiots. Gif related, should have listened to Jules
Tell me seer were these fools by my side? If so then I have no regrets if that is my fate. I swore to fight by them as long as they'd have me.
"You are going to die" is like the least fricking concerning prophecy/fortune there is. Everyone fricking dies. If the fact that you will perish bothers you, you are genuinely mental.
Yeah bro dying is totally normal and healthy you should try it sometimes. Everyones does it so don't try to avoid it!
Kill the future teller. Say some thing cliche like 'should have seen that coming, c**t'.
Let me guess, your scrolls of resurrections on special price this week?
To prove fate wrong.
OP doesn't transparently bumpgay his own dead furgay nogames thread challenge (IMPOSSIBLE!)
I continue adventuring and fight like I always have.
Considering the types of characters I tend to play, he probably has a goal he needs to achieve for the good of some other or others, so he'd keep at it.
