The GC has more content and an early safeguard on the (infamous) base random encounter rate, but they cheaped out on the sound port and the OST and sound effects have been absolutely butchered as a result. Gc has worse audio but better encounter rates. Iirc you can inject the better audio into the gc rom. So I'd say gc
