good 60 card decks are already built under the idea that you won't necessarily draw grass on your turn 1 or that it will be negated by ash first thing. You have other triggers for your mills, this is why all grass decks nowadays play punk into chaotic ruler into zombie vampire

The most compact package is 3 Circular/1 Sigma/1 Equation and 1 Alembertian in the ED and maybe 1 Addition or Subtraction if you're scared of opening Sigma.
Well, what's it do? I already have Alembertian from my old Mathmech deck I gave up on and never upgraded with Circular, but what does it do overall? The only thing that tripped me up during the event was a double Effect Veiler, I had a 25 game win streak mostly off of people passing and me mauling them with Rasterliger rather than Equimax.

I was playing Labrynth with Archfiend and 3x Soul Drains. Orcusts face when and setting 4, activating Lord of the Heavenly Prison after Crusidia making me go first lol
For good measure I ran 3x Imperial Iron Wall to make Pots, Evenly Matched and any card that benefits from banishing into bricks
I did feel pretty bad on some poor soul running Jerry Beans Man but then again they were running branded despia things.

You get more gems from ranking up and your rank determines what your level will start on the next Duelist Cup.

You get more gems going from Plat 5 to plat 1 than you do go gold 5 to gold 1 now and even more going from Diamond 5 to Diamond 1. Basically it encourages people not to camp by making it consistently more rewarding to reach the top tier ranks as oppose to just swallowing down a single -500 one time.

Depending on how this plays out, I may stay at gold-plat now instead of silver-gold, it's not like I actually play tryhard decks on those ranks (I have been playing witchrafter and zombie pile on silver, for example). Almost everything can climb to diamond 5, the issue is climbing to diamond 1 without losing your sanity.
I only hated the first one because the banlist was still a fricking joke and it was all Halq and Prank Pedo decks. By the time of the second one the banlist was only slightly less of a joke and the meta was more enjoyable.

full gold + plat = 1250
full plat + dia = 1750
plat + dia3 = 1350

I think one anon here posted the play where he got chaos ruler out before commited to speeder, but I doubt that was an average hand.
Ascator gets you to chaos ruler which in turn can get you to junk connector which allows you to chainblock the Speeder summon. The issue is that even without Speeder the deck is all or nothing on turn 1, you either win by stablishing a board the opponen't can't ever contend with, or you die attempting to stablish one.

Solitaire archetypes should be made unplayable on principle for the health of the game
Union wasn't winmoar at all, it was your best bet because to contend with buster lock the opposing player had to draw a kaiju or somehow out borreload's big ass body on field, which not even droplets could do, and if they dropleted they also had to cover masquerena to prevent you from unicorning the normal summon, which overall was just too hard to do and why most players just forfeit against adams if they can't prevent them from going off.

This also means that going to diamond for the border also doesn't sting as much in terms of gems rewards if you drop back to platinum later, since you are overall staying even (it's practically the same as if you stayed on gold > platinum forever)

Yeah, this even was pretty fun and my fear of lmao Orcust/Crusadia steamroll was unjustified in the end. I came across alot of different decks I would never ever see like homies running Ruin + Demise, Vendreads, Lightsworn, Springgans and Elemental Lords. It was quite refreshing.

Problem with maxx c is that Konami see it as leash for lot of combo heavy stuff. Look at TGC and see how many dumb bans it have.
Most of the TCG exclusive bans are good because it's the absolute cancer cards like Block Dragon, Snow, and Chaos Ruler that can just recycle themselves on top of a really good effect. And a whole lot of burnshit.
I think the only banned cards left that probably shouldn't be there anymore are Harp Horror, AFD when it eventually receives its errata, and the Link Simorgh under the assumption that they ban Wind Statue (which they probably will).

Chaos Ruler was always busted, it was just waiting for the right format to be broken. Even if you consider the Ichizu cards releasing at the same time it was banned, why should both be allowed to exist at once? Why should the deck that mills be allowed to mill more and add a handtrap for next turn?
Yes, Chaos Ruler is cancer albeit just barely. If I can make a Level 8 synchro, I have a hard time justifying anything else other than Chaos Ruler a lot of the time. A free level 8 body after it leaves the field, dump 5 AND add 1. Generic and extremely easy to make. He's been borderline bannable for a long time now, the PUNK engine was really pushing the limit.

I know all three of these decks likely need to be adjusted and have some cards swapped out but which one has the highest ceiling right now? Just from practical play I'd want to say it's Despia but a lot of people rank Swordsouls higher for some reason that baffles me a bit (probably cause I suck).
I personally would drop your Swordsoul ratios down a bit - 2 Adhara, 2 Vishuda, and 2 Taia will give you more room for some handtraps like Crossout, Nibiru, or Effect Veiler.

I play just enough to hit gold 1 every season, and don't want to play more than I already do, so I will stay in Gold 1. They still haven't fixed the problem of ranking up potentially giving you fewer gems, so I'm not going to let myself get out of Gold just to end at Plat 4 or whatever.

You'll have to hope that MD gets the same Pendulum unhits as the TCG has, or change to Dracoslayers when they release.
Pendulum can easily do the same shit it does with both Spright and Tears in the format, there's zero issue here. What you need to be scared of is people playing a higher number of boardbreakers that frick you badly like Dark Ruler No More (which will probably pick up massively once Spright releases) and Dimension Shifter (which will pick up with Tears).
Just because D shifter can frick up tears doesn't mean that it will be used more often. You will have a nice day in the foot most of the time because floo is the only good deck that can run it effectively, and it's getting semi limited on top of that

Spright was heavily employing the card because the deck can easily be geared towards exploiting the match-up by simply summoning Carrot and Red alongside other handtraps and disruption, shit, you can still summon Gigantic and the only thing you will be losing will be one of your starters as detachment off it. You stun the shit out of your opponent for the entire turn and on the next turn you can easily frick them up because you were able to actually setup for game, even moreso in a format without Garura able to frick up your setups.

It's good vs every deck, and fantastic vs Tearlament. The "downside" of setting to the field is barely a downside if any, because what are they going to do with that set card? If it's a spell, then it's probably once per turn and was already used. If it's a monster, then it's stuck face down and can't be used as material for anything but a fusion/ritual/tribute summon. And then you have next turn to deal with whatever you gave them before they're able to flip it.
it hits backrow while also putting a monster on board so you can trigger your monster removal traps. It's a niche use, but it's generally worth it against other trap decks as an additional backrow removal and better than other options. If you are feeling iffy about it and playing other decks already you can get away without it, once we get Lady Labrynth you will be able to maindeck way better silver bullets

Anyway, assuming you mean anything that features a pretty girl, there's plenty. Just because they're not good archetypes doesn't mean that monsters like Chaos Goddess or Cyber Slash Harpie Lady don't exist. The reason there's a lot of Dragons is because a frickload of the synchro bosses are cards from the anime or referencing the anime, which is dragon central. With Machines, that's just what they do. They unga, they bunga, they explode. In Xyz and links there's also several machines of the same nature.

Cutting their access to Doombroker is usually the correct play. Libromancer Mathmech sounds really funny, but it's probably not gonna be the norm when Mikanko drops, and Mikanko alone doesn't do much on turn 1 besides setting up some equips.

Geek boy and fire are the best because they're very limited in what they can do without acces to their field spell. But when splashed with mathmeck you'd probably rather hit the match cards because really those ones are more impactful than a single doombroker

The problem with "being the best deck" is that it also depends on what others play, and that vary alot. Also, you need 4-5 winstreak in plat/diamond, do you really want that?
if you're already doing the grind from gold to plat you already need 5 wins from plat 3 to plat 1, and if you have a good deck you can easily pull it off early on the season
the real exchange here is events. Events are significantly easier in gold than in plat and diamond, I could frick around with shit like S-Force in this event while on gold while on Plat I couldn't do it with a significantly stronger deck like Heroic
Gold is still full of meta gays and smurfs will nver go away, but I agree, I managed to have fun with Trickstar in the event or Witchcrafter when I can, yet if I'm i plat it's only sweaty matched, I'll still try to get to plat 1 this time around tho

Runick Stun, Mathmech, Branded, Swordsoul are all tier 1 decks that are also fairly simple to play. I'm sure Adamancipator is still good despite block dragon/grass/upcoming UC hits, but I can't say for sure. One caveat, if Spright does indeed drop next month then it'll probably be tier 1, to an almost overpowering degree. I don't know if Spright is strong enough without Toad/UC to be a tier 0 deck, but it+Tear pushed every deck besides Floo out of the metagame on release. And that's just because Floo can easily run 3 Dimension Shifter, which hard counters Tear and to a lesser degree Spright variants.
If you just want to hit Diamond, those are the decks to do it with. Or just blind second Numeron, as long as you can play an extremely boring deck very often you'll eventually hit a win streak that'll take you to D1.

moron. That's an example using the Driver as the third card in a set of 3 cards and showing how often that third card gets drawn. So Long at 2 means you hard-draw him way less, and are forced to use a search on him instead of something else, which leads to weaker average end boards.
Semis straight up don't matter unless it's a card like Malicious. Minor consistency hits just don't do anything. You still see a two-of often enough. And they especially don't matter when there's a searcher, like what they did with Aluber in this game. Big fricking deal when Branded has two E-teles, three Tragedys, and Branded Fusion is also at three which leads to the Tragedy. It did absolutely fricking nothing just like Longyuan, just like LaoLao, and every other Semi it meant frickall.
If that were true nobody would run their cards at 3 copies, because 2 is just as good. Just semi-ing LongYuan obviously wasn't enough, but that doesn't mean it did nothing.

there's a difference between playing power cards and boardbreakers that can brick either while going first (lightning storm) or by inherently playing them as multiples while they are hard OPTs (Tactics)
This isn't comparable with power cards that are always live and that are a significant part of your gameplan like Longyuan. Longyuan doesn't require my opponent to use a monster effect on their main phase or have a board to be useful
I think it is enough. Swordsoul is complete, while other decks get something they can splash in (e g. Circular gives a huge boost to a ton of deck). Also, splights and tear are coming, no need to nerf it any further.

homie branded has petered out in comparison with mathmech and swordsoul being so hyper consistent that people are going to full gas variants with shit like predaplants, 60 cards variants that add good value engines, and dual masquerade setups with dramaturge to the cost of going full handtrap like swordsoul and mathmech do, because the deck isn't as consistent anymore and to the difference of them it has a clear chokepoint (Branded Fusion).
Branded lost popularity because their Runick matchup sucks and so many homosexuals are on that, not because of any of the cards they hit.
3 is obviously better than 2, but there is no real impact overall when every archetype has their own ROTA so it's more like 6 to 5 and it means frickall. 3 to 2 has some small impact but it doesn't matter at all in the grand scheme of things. Like how in TCG Reinoheart is still at 3 but some builds voluntarily run 2 because 3 to 2 doesn't really matter in that case.
