boomershit that doesnt matter anymore. fads are not a thing anymore except for boomers needed to grasp at their past youth.
It just feels like outer worlds and NMS but with a bethesda skin. Knowing someone they'll try to mod it to be an analogue mass effect or star wars. Don't get me wrong I'm interested to see how it plays out but truthfully it won't see a long lifetime.

how is it like Star Control when a huge part of Star Control was interacting the aliens, while in Starfield there's literally only humans and Black folk
I’m hyped if it’s Skyrim/fallout in space it will make a billion dollars and give Bethesda another IP to generate revenue
Which in turn rip give them capital to make tes vi and fallout 5
It just looks like shit, graphically and mechanically, like they haven't learned much from the relative failures since Skyrim. Even the mainstream were fairly let down by Fallout 4 and 76. Story premise sounds uninspired even by Bethesda standards.
Resource grinding crafting healthbar-grinding mostly empty open world game, this time with even more soulless characters with tired faces! Yayyyyy…
People are fricking tired. Bethes-hack needed a new bold, unique and revolutionary game with a different game engine and approach to gameplay compared to past titles and this is NOT fricking it.
>Bethes-hack needed a new bold, unique and revolutionary game with a different game engine and approach to gameplay compared to past titles
why do that when their formulary is as fresh and one of a kind as it ever was? they have 0 competition still. nobody makes sandbox rpgs like they do.
fallout 4 was dumbed down and de-rpged enough that even people with non-abnormal brains noticed. fallout 76 sucked such a lemon that the best people can say about it is that it's not as bad anymore with all the updates. bethesda is playing defense, and they're on a new IP that lacks any of the naturally generated hype from a new installment in an established franchise, AND what new IP they are presenting is in a very saturated genre and from what we see currently lacks any kind of hook--so far it's just very generic space science fiction.
Obligatory reminder that FO4’s head writer was promoted to lead designer for FO76, which apparently was such a success that he’s lead designer AND head writer for Starfield

They have been calling out the morons in the fanbase since Morrowind.
What do you think Maiq is used for?
Is is going to be a buggy mess full of Bethesda shitty writing and boring empty planets and you can not even fly in the atmosphere of the planets so you will have to walk everywhere if you want to see the same copy pasted rocks
>What did Todd do wrong?
Well, let me see. >grey, boring palette >character still floats aboveground, like in all Bethesda games >blurry graphics look like something out of 2010 >grinding, grinding and more grinding >gunplay is dogshit >all gameplay aspects shown in the trailer are insanely boring
It's essentially Skyrim in space with a bit of No Man's Sky slapped on it.
>Skyrim in space with a bit of No Man's Sky slapped on it.
A lot of people wanted this. Scam citizen will never come out and most other space games took fricking years before they even let you get out of your ship, and have no content to speak of.
This isn't a real space sim. There's no reason to bash those that are and do some things way better than Starfield. St*rfield doesn't even have proper vehicles.
All this game needs to do to be successful is have skyrim/fallout-like combat and lots of quests. All people want to do is install tons of fat titty mods, run in a straight line to their quest objective while killing anything they come across and exploring a cave. It doesn’t have to be a masterpiece.
This is the only game I’m hyped for, although I can easily imagine the nostalgia goggles for Morrowind and Oblivion and Skyrim won’t work once I’m forced to stare at an NPC’s face full screen the entire fricking time there’s literally any dialogue. If I can’t walk around during dialogue, you might as well make me watch a fricking cutscene.
I'm interested in how it seems to have more rpg elements like classes, backgrounds, etc. It seems like they're finally placing more emphasis on dialogue. It's an extremely miniscule step in the right direction that I hope bodes well for Tes 6.
But I think aesthetically it looks unbelievably bland and uninteresting. I feel like you can do 'realistic' scifi or whatever they're doing in a way that looks much more interesting and exotic than what they're doing here. But I hated it in Prey (I really liked Prey nonetheless), and I hate it here as well. I'd much prefer it if they had done something less realistic like Mass Effect.
It would have stood out better in the market maybe several years ago, but these days, it looks seriously dated. This goes for the combat as well.
It's an rpg? I don't see how that's much of a problem
[...]
Yeah, this is actually concerning. But I think, or hope, that it bombing would be clearly attributable to how dated it looks and feels like and how inevitably broken it will likely be. We can only wait and see though.
morons, see
If they can learn something from Cyberpunk it has to be the dialogue system.

We had already established you bad taste in games bona fides. No need to show off.
I haven't played 2077, it might be good. But your point about the dialogue could be valid in a perfect world but it seems relatively trivial compared to whether the dialogue and how it relates to it's rpg systems is functional and well written in the first place.
You also seem like a slightly deranged fanboy too so I'm not sure if I should be even replying.
Cyberpunk dialogue system is basically fo4 dialogue with different UI.
The reason they made that game in first person is either they cant animate movement in game (look at your toons shadow reflection while moving) or they use 'V' the character as a vessel to self insert.
It's an rpg? I don't see how that's much of a problem
>I'm interested in how it seems to have more rpg elements like classes, backgrounds, etc.
My fear with this, if it bombs will they blame the rpg elements and go back to barebones mechanics of skyrim?
Yeah, this is actually concerning. But I think, or hope, that it bombing would be clearly attributable to how dated it looks and feels like and how inevitably broken it will likely be. We can only wait and see though.

I'm hoping for anything to fill the Mass Effect sized hole in my heart. But so far Starfield just looks like No Man's Sky with less color and more guns.
No releases for years besides FO76, which was a disaster at launch. Extreme similarity to Star Citizen and No Man’s Sky, which are not everyone’s cup of tea.
Those similarities are only superficial. Under the hood (you can tell if you are observant with a logical mind) it's just Fallout 4 in space. Gamebryo forces it to play the Gamebryo way. A real space sim would require a new or a less janky engine.
It's probably the AAA game I'm looking forward to the most (and maybe the only one, actually). I think I'm finally going to assemble a PC and leave consoles behind just to play this game
Todd has never disappointed me. And yes, I loved 76. No, I'm not joking.
There isn't a whole lot to work of. All we have is that 30 minute presentation and some old non-gameplay teasers. I decent length of unedited gameplay would do wonders for the hype. Overall, I'm optimistic, but skeptical about Starfield.
It's one of the only games im actually excited for, modern TES/fallout is a husk of it's former self and they should both be put down in favor of new IPs.
lets just be honest, its a beth game. Its gonna sell, Im gonna buy it and Im gonna have fun
And people will actually mod the game unlike cybertroony with no community. People dont give a shit about your game so you come into their boards talking trash because its a ghost town over in Transville.
Also, Beth actually puts out DLC on a timely basis that actually improves the world. CD Porjeck Trans does not.
>a bunch of procedural generated planets with nothing to do on any of them
If this is actually what comes of it then it sounds like it's lining up to be on par with Outer Worlds or even worse.
This is top kek, imagine a fricking shotgun ejecting WHOLE rifle BULLETS when reloading.
I just can't take it anymore, they even managed to frick up the trailer lmao.
The best footage they could muster for the game for the world reveal debut was running at 15 frames per second. If that isn't an indication of product quality I don't know what is.
anything released that isnt VR is preemtively obsolete

Poor child. I remember when I fell for baseless hype.
Lol it's not a space sim, you fool. Don't learn it the hard way. It's just a Fallout in space (mostly a janky shooter with fast travel mechanics).
I’m hyped if it’s Skyrim/fallout in space it will make a billion dollars and give Bethesda another IP to generate revenue
Which in turn rip give them capital to make tes vi and fallout 5
>zero hype
Todd doesn't need hype
Once the game releases it will sell 10 billion copies
It just looks like shit, graphically and mechanically, like they haven't learned much from the relative failures since Skyrim. Even the mainstream were fairly let down by Fallout 4 and 76. Story premise sounds uninspired even by Bethesda standards.
Bethesda has always been shit
I actually look forward to it. the idea of modular ship customization is very cool.
I was somewhat interested in it but the gameplay reveal completely killed that. The combat looks worse than fallout 3/NV.
Resource grinding crafting healthbar-grinding mostly empty open world game, this time with even more soulless characters with tired faces! Yayyyyy…

>he thinks Fallout 4/76 is full of fresh new interesting ideas and that Space Fallout needs to be even more the same as past titles
ok
hyped as frick
Looks like Fallout 4 in space. With Fallout 4 having been an incredibly mediocre game, why would anyone be serisouly hyped?
People want TES VI, not this boring shoot-n-loot simulator that looks like a reskin of Fallout 4.
My biggest concern in Todd using the same engine since Fallout Vegas to Skyrim to this
The shown gameplay wasn't particularly impressive, especially the shooting. But the ship and base building are enough to make me seriously interested.
fallout 4 was dumbed down and de-rpged enough that even people with non-abnormal brains noticed. fallout 76 sucked such a lemon that the best people can say about it is that it's not as bad anymore with all the updates. bethesda is playing defense, and they're on a new IP that lacks any of the naturally generated hype from a new installment in an established franchise, AND what new IP they are presenting is in a very saturated genre and from what we see currently lacks any kind of hook--so far it's just very generic space science fiction.

I thought the lead dev of the Far Harbor DLC was made lead writer of Starfield
Nope, Emil’s still head writer. With any luck the Far Harbor guy will be lead on TES6 tho.
If Emil wrote that game, the story would probably ends up with character that were 'fulfilling his destiny' and other shit like that.
The artifacts you find are to complete a time machine that sends your robot back in time so he can place the parts you need to fix the time machine so you can send your robot back in time to place the parts.....

Is is going to be a buggy mess full of Bethesda shitty writing and boring empty planets and you can not even fly in the atmosphere of the planets so you will have to walk everywhere if you want to see the same copy pasted rocks
Yeah, my biggest critique of modern open-world games is quantity over quality which all seemed to really kick off with the Skyrim craze.
Saying you have ten million procedurally generated planets to explore is the opposite of a solution to that.
>What did Todd do wrong?
Well, let me see.

Absolutely fricking terrible first impression with that laughable presentation.

Gee I wonder if Starfield is going to be good
Everyone's just waiting for this turd to brown the bowl so they can get on with ruining Elder Scrolls again.
Why lizards must be so sexy make me cum?
It's more than 8 months away
Looks great will be playing on PC with tons of mods like I do with Skyrim
This is the only game I’m hyped for, although I can easily imagine the nostalgia goggles for Morrowind and Oblivion and Skyrim won’t work once I’m forced to stare at an NPC’s face full screen the entire fricking time there’s literally any dialogue. Why are there Black folk in space?
Realism.
space isnt real
Will this shown in state of play?
I just like seeing video games trailer
At this point I wouldn't be suprised if Absolute State of Play's big reveal was a Microsoft game trailer.
There's already a game exactly like this. It's called No Man's Sky.
I'm hoping for anything to fill the Mass Effect sized hole in my heart. But so far Starfield just looks like No Man's Sky with less color and more guns.
Woke shit killed all hype.
Needs more hot girls or something. Idk. I get that the mods will add that, but they need some spice, ya know?

I don’t get hype for toddthesda without seeing Todd himself.
