Being a consoomer?
I'm really starting to get pissed off at these images because they're so fricking busy that they look more like product placement than someone's actual room
Not to mention the fricking posters for Atlantis and the Star Wars prequels, which are nothing to be nostalgic for
Yeah I've always felt the same. Also who the frick leaves a box of unopened bagel bites on their desk.
Prequels are pure, unfiltered kino. Only 40yo Disney era Star Wars fanboys hate on them
>that many posters hanged on the wall overlapping each other
no one actually does that
You know it's weird seeing pictures of what peoples rooms actually looked like and then seeing these drawings that don't match the photos at all. It's like they just went down a checklist or something.
it's just a rose tinted nostalgia fantasy
It's like whenever you see a movie set in the early 80s with a The Thing poster.
This is strange to say but I haven't seen any media whatsoever capture the feel of the 90s except for season 1 of 13 reasons why. Even though it's set in the 2010s. It has a 90s feel to it, some kind of warmth. Nothing else feels that way
>Atlantis
>Star Wars prequels
cope and seethe, both are great
>N64 with OoT hooked
>Gamecube version of OoT is playing on the TV, given the red button for the sword UI
0/10 immersion RUINED
Also it's not even the OoT cartridge, it's Majora's Mask
-5/10
Only rich kids lived like this. You'd have 1/3rd the stuff with one console. TVs back then only had plugs for one console, so you couldn't even connect multiple consoles. Hell, they didn't even have the AV connections, you'd use the cable connection and consoles came with an cable wire adapter.
They're made by this guy called Rachid Lotf, he loves to make these images full of products the average kid or teen would like, but he just goes so overboard to the point where it looks really weird.
Here's one targeted towards a more younger audience.
gay didn't even try with this image also playing wii with a hd tv
>lmao
Its just too much vidya. Most people's rooms were not back-to-back with vidya. And its just too cluttered.
This one is a little bit better because there's other non-vidya stuff in there but its just too much.
Holy based. I take it back.
As I look into this without nostalgia goggles on despite being born in 1990, this shit reeks of CONSOOOOOOOM and "remember popular 90's thing".
Nobody but the most well off white kid's room would ever look like this.
I hate them because they also look shitty since the perspective of all the items is wrong. Also does this guy have no idea how wires work, why are they all floating?
the worst part about the images is that they look like those shitty find the object games you find by the dozens on steam and in shovelware sections
I loved Atlantis, it was a good movie and the PS1 game was fun.
I was born 2002 and I have a PS2 at home that I play from time to time. What the frick are you talking about?
Because you weren't playing any of the games pictured between 2001 and 2005. You didn't experience this stuff when it was brand new nor were you (a baby at the time) part of the target demographic.
Why is he black?
im stacking paper 18 years old b***h frick do u know about me
no time for video games cuz im not a loser im making money and u are in ur moms basement
>inb4 insults
why the frick do i care what u think of me im better then u so have some respect
Woah man you're so cool I wish I could be you 🙂
18 is a little old to still be a paper boy isn't it?
it used to be normal for 13 year old boys to deliver news papers
Nobody gives a shit about your childhood you fricking nerd.
Why do people say this when you can literally get those games and console right now and then let a zoomer play them? You can even make your own boomer gaming room with classic posters too.
dumb ass op
You already know why
It's not about the games themselves, it's about how pre-9/11 was this heaven on earth where nothing bad ever happened and things were simpler
Just be glad you didn't have to work at a job that had mountains of paperwork that needed to be managed
What does any of that have to do with playing those games in a man cave? a zoomer CAN experience the same feeling as op's picture.
There's a difference between experiencing older pop culture now and being a teen or college kid in the pre-2013 world and growing up with it.
Yeah back then you were a child so you were ignorant of how much time you wasted playing JRPGs instead of hanging out with friends and games were funner. As an adult you realize exactly how awful it is but keep playing anyways because it distracts from the passage of time. In both examples they're still a loser.
But i am a 99 zoomer and I can literally play and watch anything before 9/11 and understand culture was better back then in fact I set up retroarch so I could actually play old games and have them look right.
these images are fricking gay because they're just praising mindless consumerism
>99
OP's not referring to you. He's talking about your average Tiktok kiddie born in the 2000s. Most of them hate everything old on principle.
theres not a big difference between people born 1999 and 2000
2000s doesn't refer to a single year
If you were alive last millennium, you're in the sip club.
zoomer cope. anybody born after 94 is a fricking gay zoomer b***h.
t. born in 94
I dunno my dude. You can't say you lived and experienced the 90's as a successful and outgoing 5year old. Minium cut off age is teenager and you weren't teenager age. To have lived and experienced a decade's worth of change, you have to be aware and participate in it.
Meanwhile in reality.
Yeah, I'd dip into that Zoomer bussy
there actually is a quite a big difference
because you eiter got a computer or a console or a phone counting on those years.
Any Zoomer who is obsessed with old stuff CAN embrace it today. The culture, music, games, TV, etc easily accessible.
>I can
>I could
That's the thing, zoomers can but won't due to their dopamine and smartphone addictions. I bet you can't even play a singleplayer fame for more than 10 minutes without checking your phone or looking for a guide.
>i bet you can't even play a singleplayer game for 10 minutes without checking your phone or looking for a guide
I never had a smart phone and the only time I ever looked for a guide was when it was some obscure bullshit
>I bet you can't even play a singleplayer fame for more than 10 minutes without checking your phone or looking for a guide.
Games aren't an artform worthy of training appreciation and attention for. Only literature, films made for serious consumption, music that doesn't rely on catchiness and repetitiveness, and the obvious visual arts are anything that you should try and train attentiveness for. Video game creators wouldn't care their head if you told them you made a phone call while playing. Video games don't require introspection or attention to appreciate.
They do if they're freaking hard.
That forces attention. And it's not like you can't alt tab after you die.
>I bet you can't even play a singleplayer fame for more than 10 minutes without checking your phone or looking for a guide.
I only look through guides when it's obvious as frick the devs made shit obscure just to sell guides to people. Shit like the item locations in Yggdra Union. Ain't no one got enough autism to go sifting for a needle in a haystack AND repeat the level because you have limited moves per map.
Never experience final fantasy X? I have it and the English patched iso of X-2 international+last mission on my PS2 hard drive right now. How do you cope with not being able to play any game you wanted for free when you were young?
These anachronistic pictures are always fricking cringe.
that looks boring and autistic
How would a Black person know what Naruto is in 2001? It didn't arrive on American TV until 2005ish
What in the picture indicates it takes place in 2001 and not 2005?
>I must consoooooom
>internet tells autists with no self awareness to frick off
>mainstream society notices and adopts this is well, substituting "autists" with terms like "neckbeard"
>this was unfair
Why would they be playing a game from 2002 in 2006? The fricking Xbox 360 was out at the time this confused mess is evoking.
What kid in 2005 was a fan of bleach, Naruto, lotr, the star wars prequels, final fantasy, titan AE, Atlantis, the inheritance cycle and had 3 different consoles+a psp?
no kid because this is just a mindless reddit image.
To all the Zoomers who think this is what it was like in the 90's it wasn't at all. You'd have posters up but GAME POSTERS weren't super common except for the ones you'd get in Nintendo Power. You have to remember
Pre Obama
>VIDEOGAMES = INCEL
Post Obama
>VIDEOGAMES = $$$$$
You were more likely to see sports, music/band, and WWF stuff on peoples walls back then.
Also, OWNING GAMES was rare. You'd be able to get a few in your entire childhood. There is no way in hell you'd have more than 50 games of a current gen unless you were loaded.
I dunno why this bothers me. It's like seeing things that are so far from the truth being sold to me as truth makes me realize how fricked up we must recount historical events in general.
If you really want to larp as a boomer
>that weird trailor park fake/thin wood wall
>that weird sponged paint ceiling look
>carpet
>christian iconography everywhere
>family pictures, crosses, etc everywhere in the house/room
FEAR because you and your friends got beat by parents so everyone was scared shitless of parents
>50 games of a current gen
That's a super high bar, of course you wouldn't have that. Do you have that now? That's frickin' weird, man.
>50 games of a current gen
I mean that's way more possible now. Games go on sale for dirt cheap multiple times a year, and a generation lasts a long fricking time. 2013-2020, that's 7 years. That's only 7 games a year which isn't unreasonable.
But yeah as a kid there's no way I got 7 games a year.
>that weird trailor park fake/thin wood wall
I still have some of that shit in one of the back rooms that's just used for storage.
>that weird sponged paint ceiling look
I know what you're talking about but most of the houses I saw had popcorn ceiling that I always wanted to scrape off
>carpet
I miss carpet
>christian iconography everywhere
I never had any super religious friends so I never saw anything like that.
>FEAR because you and your friends got beat by parents so everyone was scared shitless of parents
My dad was pretty chill most of the time, but one of my friends dad scared the hell out of me and would fly off the handle for the smallest things
>CONSOOOOOOOOOOM GOYSLOOOOPPP REMEMBER WHEN WE WERE YOUNG AND CONSUMED GOYSLOP?
Why are millennials like this?
I love goyslop
I didn't buy into nostalgia until I got into my mid 20s. My childhood was kinda shit but it's nice to look back on the positives
lol
if your entire childhood was consumerism thats still easily accessible, you shouldn't be proud mate
Why do people here act like consumerism is a bad thing? This is a consumerist board. All pop culture is inherently consumerist. That's a good thing. At least when the pop culture is good. Modern pop culture sucks balls though.
I had vhs and PS2 to. Who cares. Your loser homosexual for caring to much about the past
only actual morons enjoy turn based rpgs
Actual moron here.
I do enjoy my turn based jrpgs from time to time.
