This is strange to say but I haven't seen any media whatsoever capture the feel of the 90s except for season 1 of 13 reasons why. Even though it's set in the 2010s. It has a 90s feel to it, some kind of warmth. Nothing else feels that way

Only rich kids lived like this. You'd have 1/3rd the stuff with one console. TVs back then only had plugs for one console, so you couldn't even connect multiple consoles. Hell, they didn't even have the AV connections, you'd use the cable connection and consoles came with an cable wire adapter.

Yeah back then you were a child so you were ignorant of how much time you wasted playing JRPGs instead of hanging out with friends and games were funner. As an adult you realize exactly how awful it is but keep playing anyways because it distracts from the passage of time. In both examples they're still a loser.

Games aren't an artform worthy of training appreciation and attention for. Only literature, films made for serious consumption, music that doesn't rely on catchiness and repetitiveness, and the obvious visual arts are anything that you should try and train attentiveness for. Video game creators wouldn't care their head if you told them you made a phone call while playing. Video games don't require introspection or attention to appreciate.

I only look through guides when it's obvious as frick the devs made shit obscure just to sell guides to people. Shit like the item locations in Yggdra Union. To all the Zoomers who think this is what it was like in the 90's it wasn't at all. You'd have posters up but GAME POSTERS weren't super common except for the ones you'd get in Nintendo Power. You have to remember

    Pre Obama
    >VIDEOGAMES = INCEL
    Post Obama
    >VIDEOGAMES = $$$$$

You were more likely to see sports, music/band, and WWF stuff on peoples walls back then.

Also, OWNING GAMES was rare. You'd be able to get a few in your entire childhood. There is no way in hell you'd have more than 50 games of a current gen unless you were loaded.

I dunno why this bothers me. It's like seeing things that are so far from the truth being sold to me as truth makes me realize how fricked up we must recount historical events in general.

If you really want to larp as a boomer

        >50 games of a current gen
I mean that's way more possible now. Games go on sale for dirt cheap multiple times a year, and a generation lasts a long fricking time. 2013-2020, that's 7 years. That's only 7 games a year which isn't unreasonable.

But yeah as a kid there's no way I got 7 games a year.
