1080p144hz
>1080p in 2021
1080p is still fine. <120hz is not.
120 is a gigantic meme. It's only noticeable in very fast games which are usually optimized for frame rate anyway. Higher resolution or bigger monitor is better
Not that anon but yeah it depends on what games you're playing. I'll be honest though I can't tell the difference between anything above 100~
Yeah I can barley tell the difference in anything above 90. The extra 50 frames I get on 144hz doesn't do a whole lot.
I play games on 144hz just because I can. The only time you can notice a difference above 90 is when you're moving really fast which most games don't do.
Frick no. I can literally notice immediately when I switch between 60 and 120. It isn't a fricking meme and I'm never going back to 60hz displays.
high resolution is great and all, but even 75HZ is an upgrade over 60HZ. There's a huge leap in better experience going over 60HZ. Even in single player games and RPGs.
4k@120hz or 1080@240hz
720x600fps
1440p165hz
1600x1200 120hz
Framerate every time. 60 to 120 is a bigger difference than 1440p to 4K unless you're using a gigantic screen and you sit very close to it.
60-120 isn't that big of a difference unless it's a really fast game. Above 90 you can barley tell any difference
More than 60 is nice for the stuff I play, that's why. Beyond 144 is pretty pointless unless you play twitch shooters or something similar, that I agree with.
It's something inherent to IPS monitors, you get great viewing angles and colors at the cost of blacks that aren't great.
beyond 120 is pretty pointless regardless.
>buy 1440p monitor
>IPS
>corner has glow
>replace it like 3 times and all have IPS glow
>give up and play in 1080p windowed so glow doesn't affect game
ips glow eases up after a month or so of use ive found
lmao wtf is this glow you guys are talking about? Jesus christ I was thinking about an IPS monitor.
before someone posts some dogshit overbrightend image it looks like this on badly affected monitors. most of the time its a lot smaller than what happens in this image and most people wont notice it
$100 says you have some ambient light in your room and the "glow" is just a subtle reflection
1080p60hz
720x30fps
Former, especially if you play anything old.
I'm not poor, so I play at 2560x1440p @ 240HZ. Although if a decent 4K 144hz monitor hits the market, I might consider that. Especially now that DLSS is so far along.
1080p 240hz
I can see the difference god I love ripping ass with a machine thats as fast as I am
640x480, 15 FPS
I have both. A small 1440p 144Hz screen and a big 4K 60Hz one. 144Hz is pretty much mandatory for shooters and other fast paced games but if I'm playing something slower (especially RPG and strategy games) I like playing on the bigger 4k monitor instead.
