Yeah, but that's after decade of community patches. It was absolute dumpster fire on release, you couldn't even make it out of tutorial without console cheats.
I mean I played it when it was released and beat the game without any mods or cheats. I was 14 and didn't really know much about them at the time.
The first and only patch made it playable just fine. Wesp's decade of patching is just autism and putting in his own fan-fic.
It wasn't that bad. You would crash at the end of the Society of Leopold but that's about it, other than the occasional random crash. The last official 1.2 patch fixed the Leopold crash and I played the game many times without any fan patches and still loved it.
Playing with a fan patch is nice but they're definitely not the reason why people love the game.

I think it will, eventually. But that shit is going to be a completely different beast from both the first game and whatever plans the original devs for 2 intended. It's not a total recipe for disaster, but the new devs are going to have to be god's gift to game development in order to turn this sucker around.

No they haven't, yet blood hunt and swansong show promise that the game hasnt been canceled, bloodhunt uses the same engine and assets as vtmb 2 and from the looks of it is almost purely a revenue generator to fund the game
Bloodhunt has nothing to do with Bloodlines 2. Sharkmob AB paid Paradox for the license to make it and that's the extent of their relationship. Bloodlines 2 is the only World of Darkness game that Paradox is funding and publishing themselves.
