the scaling is just off in the late game, i.e. volcano gym leader has 150k hp and your lvl 45 monsters will only do like 500 damage at a time. fight legit takes 10 minutes and thats with you pumping it with shotgun bullets the entire time.
i'm aware you can cheese it with bugged gym leader captures, or juicing a sweepa but again that just feels lame
like the other anon said you have to tweak difficulty options to make it feel less shit, but i hate to do it personally
>fight legit takes 10 minutes and thats with you pumping it with shotgun bullets the entire time
What's so bad about this?
Seems reasonable for late content
it's the third gym leader, anon
also the entire fight is just literally you running around in circles and rolling while your monsters do shit damage and you occasionally have to swap to a healer to get back to full.

yeah bro just breed the ideal passives and capture 500 lunaris so it can be juiced to max so you can complete the main game content
great game design

tbh it seems like that's the goal. it's supposed to be an incompletable sandbox grindfest, which it does pretty well. I'm level 42 and still having fun with it.

dont get me wrong, i had fun but the kind of shit i'm doing in the late game should be new game+ tier
it's early access and unpolished, but i'm excited to start over on the next major patch

I like starting over with this game for some reason since it's fun. There's some things I find annoying that I would sort of like them to tweak but I wonder if the game was made a lot easier if id get bored with it faster.

it reminds me of path of exile in a way, i could see a 'season' structure working well for this.
also hoping a of the pallet swap monsters end up with proper monster designs in the future because they just feel like placeholders

Yeah I don't really like the alternate typing mons

I wouldn't get too excited. A few of them actually have different models and the changes are very minor.

I feel the same.
I just really hope updates give a lot of new options and tools and actually re-balance things.

I mean you still fricking beat that boss in just 10 minutes without the autism, I really don't understand your complain man

only the third trainer, there are still 3 more gym trainers and it's just simply not fun to run in a circle and spam roll for 10 minutes.

>in just 10 minutes
That's the time limit, if you exceed that it counts a a loss.
Shadowbeak is only level 43 and the game doesn't really tell you to do anything past defeating Zoe. You just run into the trainers, unless you're specifically looking for the towers.
The difficulty is fine, the level progression is fricked though. Once you run out of common mons to catch 10 times it suddenly has korean MMO speed grind. Getting past level 36 is insane.
even if you 10x the entire pokedex it's only enough to get you to 47
have to do a lot of egg spamming/world bosses to get to 50 if you aren't adjusting rates
>even if you 10x the entire pokedex it's only enough to get you to 47
Man, I really don't want to adjust difficulty settings and spoil the game, but hearing that is really disheartening.
it's a bummer to be sure. the exp rates are also just fricked near the end where your trainer will exp your monsters by 5-6 levels and you are basically forced to capture end game monsters to keep pace with the content.
sucks because ideally you'd want to pick monsters you like and take them to end game like the usual monster training game.
One thing I found is just killing high level stuff is good exp. Like killing level 40 monsters can level you up about the same as capturing if you do it quick.
Can someone explain to me why this game is so bad in technical terms?
I've been able to play fricking RDR2 on my Steam Deck at 40 FPS with medium to ultra settings, and yet this fricking game can't go beyond 30 FPS while looking like a PS3 game.
I know about this mod, but I have to wonder if it's even worth using considering the game's going to be getting updates every other day, no idea if it'll break it or something.
Okay, i'll try it.
Speaking of the Steam Deck, have you ever had the problem of patches getting stuck at "Installing 0%"?
It happened to me with the latest Palworld patch, it fixed on it's own while I played another game, but I read other people saying it's a common issue.
nah that particular one, but i did have the autosave break a few times when i was in the steam quick access menu. just had to force quit and reboot the game.
posts like this are how I know zoomer generation doesn't play games, they just read forums and watch twitch. to them caring about what other people do IS the game
>farming >farming >farming >farming
No wonder discussion died in record time, all there is in the game is farming to unlock ways to farm better so you can farm more efficently, and the only game that's done "farming for the sake of farming" fun is Monster Hunter.
I wish the bosses weren't just using regular pals if they were going to be this insanely beefy. They should be using unique legendaries, not regular shit you can get.
put 110 hours into it
its ok, not really balanced for single player yet
maybe in time. but i have lots of notes for how to play in the future when i start fresh again.
How is it too hard solo, unless I'm not understanding
It's completely fine solo. You can also customize your difficulty options any time you load up.

it's just kind of overbloated for no good reason

???
there are pals that heal?
yea, several
Petallia is cuter though

yeah, nice game design dude.

btw, use this shit.

hasn't broke for me, unlike the stock build which was crashing on my deck and sub 30fps all the time
Okay, i'll try it.

Why is the shitpost thread the only Palworld thread on Ganker with actual criticism and discussion about the game?
