Game was good. Honestly first game ive completed without dropping for a while or feeling like i had to push through (BG3 Act3 for example).

The stager system is probably the worst thing they could have added. It doesn't add anything to the game for the player its used more of an excuse to not balance the bosses.
Everything else is top tier.

It's still a smaller game than ER. There are still plenty of people doing shenanigans there because there are more varied locales and situations that invaders can make use of. Player-to-player interaction is extremely basic in AC6.
The meta is also super compressed and some weapons still don't know what they want to be, and neither does the playerbase know what From wants us to do with them. Only so much you can do when most things are built around staggering your opponent, with energy builds that focus on raw damage being an outlier, a niche. Also some builds break the game harder than they could in past games, so a lot of people are already done with scoring on all the missions.
AC6 can probably be saved with more varied MP including integration with SP missions. A possible solution is AC6: Another Age that has little overarching story to work on (and thus reduced costs) for a large amount of content, with some having enemy ACs that can be replaced by players on a queue.
There are also many unused classic concepts because the game decided it needed to be overly dramatic and put so much emphasis on its story.
You get one mission saying that you will fight alongside normal MTs to defend a base against a similar force of massed lesser PCA goons. Wonderful, a chance to play on the side of the small guy for a change! In any other AC game this would play out straight and you would probably get extra credits for keeping as many defenders alive as possible. But in this game there is no such mission, it is used purely as bait for a bog standard 1v1 duel that's really only tricky for reckless players. No such opportunities truly exist outside of this; in the missions where you can possibly have MT backup they are few in number and your opponents are ACs so they hardly make a difference.

If you kill enemies it does contribute to S rank, but speed is the most important thing. Basically if you kill a lot of enemies you can take longer and still get S rank and use more ammo and take more damage

I don't know what crack you're smoking, but that absolutely wasn't true. MTs take "chunks" out of your AP because you're too slow to simply dodge 100% of shots, so things like stationary turrets could also take "chunks" off of your AP. Losing 300-500AP over the course of an entire mission can quantify a "chunk", but if you're too moronic to strafe and shoot, you can't possibly be an authority on oldgen difficulty. .

It actually can, you aren't using the right boosters or weight. If you have the right set up your mech actually tumbles when using the quick dodge. Lightweight homies look like they are doing the hopscotch as they dodge gun fire.

That's my current dream game. Ideally I'd want it to be just like the original AA, like 100 fricking missions of just becoming the best mecha mercenary with no galaxy saving plot getting in the way.
I finished the game 3 times, I got the plat achievement.
I even played PvP for a while and I would play PvP even more if there were a ladder and "Find a match" button.
I don't like wasting my time searching rooms and waiting in queues to play the game.
Since there's no turning speed and lightweight builds have no advantage over heavyweight builds, they need to add ladders by weight so lightweight can't get matched up with heavyweight builds.
The game is still GOTY for me.
I hope they'll make some DLC or something that will purely be focused on pvp with a bunch of new parts and a ladder
It was never going to draw dimes, it was coasting on nuFromsoft's reputation. AC has never been a big deal. No matter how hard we push, mecha will never enter the American zeitgeist, without some popular name attached. Transformers and Michael Bay, Guillermo Del Toro. Fromsoft. Etc etc. It's not the robots they want, it's the name recognition they search out.
They're probably shuffling different directors after Yamamura is finished with the expansion. I don't know who's doing the earlier installments, but since 4 From always has different directors in each mainline game.

Game was good. Not much else to say. Main negatives for me was the patch that broke RT in the garage and the boss arenas where you can get stuck in terrain.

No it turns the game into a kick race to see whose combo connects first. The only counter which has be come the meta is to run away, occasionally turn around to shoot missiles and/or ranged AOE beyond lock range and try to have more %AP when the timer runs out.

Stagger is fricking garbage, it completely twists combat into a repetitive dance of trying to build up a bar and save attack combinations around that moment. It was added to mske melee weapons more viable but it's completely unnecessary when ironically kick ends up being nearly impossible to dodge. They could have just made melee attacks non committal or more usable on targets that are moving and reduced massively the importance of stagger and the game would instantly be better

I must say, the game doesn't need its Nier-esque multiple endings with NG+. I feel like the criticism over the game was made because people didn't bother to go and replay the game again just to finish the NG++ ending or something and the new missions in the new playthough are really sparse so people got bored really easily.
There's a lot of new missions and changes to existing missions
NG+ felt like a new game to me because I didn't know what to expect, then NG+++ has completely different chapter
There would be way more crying and seething if they made you fight the NG++ final boss to get any ending at all. It makes sense that they make that a “true ending” route for completionists.
Past AC games have stagger it's barely noticeable and it only happens if you get hammered. Theres no invisible meter or anything you just have to eat a bigass hit and you'll stall for a second.

eh, there's a handful AP/ammo refreshes in past games so I can kind of forgive it, but not really. The problem with 6 is that they are always right before a boss fight and it totally breaks the tension since as soon as you see them you know what's coming next, there's no surprises. Your energy pistols are your good direct hit weapon. The auroras do not miss and since it builds that stagger bar like a kinetic you can spam the lasers at the enemy while they are stagger locked.
Even in pvp that build will run circles around heavies. You'll eat through 10k of their 18k AP in one rotation of breaking their ACS.

It's still a smaller game than ER. There are still plenty of people doing shenanigans there because there are more varied locales and situations that invaders can make use of. Player-to-player interaction is extremely basic in AC6.
The meta is also super compressed and some weapons still don't know what they want to be, and neither does the playerbase know what From wants us to do with them. Only so much you can do when most things are built around staggering your opponent, with energy builds that focus on raw damage being an outlier, a niche. Also some builds break the game harder than they could in past games, so a lot of people are already done with scoring on all the missions.
AC6 can probably be saved with more varied MP including integration with SP missions. A possible solution is AC6: Another Age that has little overarching story to work on (and thus reduced costs) for a large amount of content, with some having enemy ACs that can be replaced by players on a queue.

There are also many unused classic concepts because the game decided it needed to be overly dramatic and put so much emphasis on its story.
You get one mission saying that you will fight alongside normal MTs to defend a base against a similar force of massed lesser PCA goons. Wonderful, a chance to play on the side of the small guy for a change! In any other AC game this would play out straight and you would probably get extra credits for keeping as many defenders alive as possible. But in this game there is no such mission, it is used purely as bait for a bog standard 1v1 duel that's really only tricky for reckless players. No such opportunities truly exist outside of this; in the missions where you can possibly have MT backup they are few in number and your opponents are ACs so they hardly make a difference.

If you kill enemies it does contribute to S rank, but speed is the most important thing. Basically if you kill a lot of enemies you can take longer and still get S rank and use more ammo and take more damage

I don't know what crack you're smoking, but that absolutely wasn't true. MTs take "chunks" out of your AP because you're too slow to simply dodge 100% of shots, so things like stationary turrets could also take "chunks" off of your AP. Losing 300-500AP over the course of an entire mission can quantify a "chunk", but if you're too moronic to strafe and shoot, you can't possibly be an authority on oldgen difficulty. .

I finished the game 3 times, I got the plat achievement.
I even played PvP for a while and I would play PvP even more if there were a ladder and "Find a match" button.
I don't like wasting my time searching rooms and waiting in queues to play the game.
Since there's no turning speed and lightweight builds have no advantage over heavyweight builds, they need to add ladders by weight so lightweight can't get matched up with heavyweight builds.

Yeah, it's clear the developers didn't know how to translate their experience and just did what they know and re-skin it. They took some inspiration from Gundam exvs since and other fighting games but AC6 didn't come from the hearts of people that love TPS and didn't have any interest in revisiting what their forebears did with AC1.
Stagger is good. It gives combat a back-and-forth flow. The game would be even more spammy without stagger because you wouldnt have to time your attacks at the right moment
No it turns the game into a kick race to see whose combo connects first. The only counter which has be come the meta is to run away, occasionally turn around to shoot missiles and/or ranged AOE beyond lock range and try to have more %AP when the timer runs out.

Stagger is fricking garbage, it completely twists combat into a repetitive dance of trying to build up a bar and save attack combinations around that moment. It was added to mske melee weapons more viable but it's completely unnecessary when ironically kick ends up being nearly impossible to dodge. They could have just made melee attacks non committal or more usable on targets that are moving and reduced massively the importance of stagger and the game would instantly be better

I feel like the criticism over the game was made because people didn't bother to go and replay the game again just to finish the NG++ ending or something and the new missions in the new playthough are really sparse so people got bored really easily.

Past AC games have stagger it's barely noticeable and it only happens if you get hammered. Theres no invisible meter or anything you just have to eat a bigass hit and you'll stall for a second.

eh, there's a handful AP/ammo refreshes in past games so I can kind of forgive it, but not really. The problem with 6 is that they are always right before a boss fight and it totally breaks the tension since as soon as you see them you know what's coming next, there's no surprises. They handled this very sloppily.

Songbirb will build stagger. Original auroras weren't buffed by stuff because they were a stagger building energy weapon. They still build stagger a frickload and now get all the core/arm buffs they should have gotten.

I probably need a good direct hit weapon too once I get them. Turenos maybe. Long lock-on doesn't matter if you're shooting a stationary target.
Your energy pistols are your good direct hit weapon. The auroras do not miss and since it builds that stagger bar like a kinetic you can spam the lasers at the enemy while they are stagger locked.
Even in pvp that build will run circles around heavies. You'll eat through 10k of their 18k AP in one rotation of breaking their ACS.

Before you ask I know souls stuff is notoriously janky, I don't know what is it about the animations but everything looks so low quality, AC6 in comparison looks like it's from a different company entirely.
The people designing this game really cared about the autism in animating the giant machines operating. There's more effort in the charging weapons having variable configurations when charged than there is in most souls games.
