Apart from the shell it's almost certainly entirely different internally and it's likely they had to retool just to recreate the shell which would have cost millions by itself. I'd be surprised if they intend to make profit from it even at $50
You forget that, despite the dollar losing so much value, the dollar amount of wages have not really increased. If it cost $30 now, that's still relatively more expensive to most people than $30 then. Assuming you make a similar salary as back then, you would have less spare cash for video games because everything else in life costs more. The idea that it's more affordable because the dollar doesn't buy as much is farcical. There's a good reason why publishers cannot seem to raise the $60 price of new games.
However the N64 controller was overpriced. I remember buying new dualshock 2s for $20.
Any problem with them selling the controller is pure nitpicking. If they made the controller mandatory for the N64 games, then they would have an argument, but the controller is just there for those who want it.
Manufacturing has gotten much cheaper since then. The MSRP could be $20 and they would still profit
Anon it's wireless, rechargeable, and can work with multiple devices, unlike the original.

literally a meme invented by the juice
What makes Nintendogays feel like they have to religiously defend their favorite corporation?
Nintendo fans are educated individuals who understand the cost of producing a product and low expected sales volume because of a niche market

have a nice day
How fricking fried is your brain that you think that's a zealous defense? Get off of Ganker for a couple of weeks, my guy.
If only income had scaled the same way
30 dollars was too much back then too. What is your point?
I would buy one if it wasn't for needing to be a nintendo subscriber.
WOW I’M PAYING 36 CENTS LESS FOR A PRODUCT THAT CAME OUT 25 YEARS AGO HOLY FRICKING BASED THANK YOU NINTENDO

Why would anyone even want an N64 controller in 2021? The Gamecube controller is just a straight up better N64 controller in every way.
Will it have rumble integrated?
Will the memory cartridge slot be empty or be filled in?
Is it gonna suck as hard as I remember it did?
You can't just plug a number into the inflation calculator and assume that's what the price should be/would be in a modern market.
