I'd probably change the National Dex restrictions to become available before the league, but require more pokemon caught that 60 so there's a proper reward for investing in the game
People are (mostly) fine with Golbat not being able to evolve before postgame, but playing the evolution animation every level is pure fricking tedium. There was no reason to implement it this way.

Yup. game will do the same thing to any gen 2/3 pokemon that get hacked in. I injected a chikorita into my LG run and would have to manually evolve it in PKHex.

It's because Golbat is trying to evolve into a pokemon that doesn't exist in the Kanto Dex. This also happens with Chansey and Eevee if their happiness is high enough.
