It's the only way I even gave this game a shot. I got bored and just never went back to it though. Some aspects of it appealed to me, but others did not. The execution was also janky despite looking nice. A lot of the difficult mechanics are bypassed by just having a vehicle.
Legitimately a much better game if only for added machine gun turrets at MULE camps. In the original it's always simplistic to just steam roll any mule camp, in the directors throughout the whole game you need to take those turrets seriously or you'll get shredded. Lots of neat other stuff as well like cargo catapults.
T3 up keep. If you're deep in the game, day in and day out. Your stuff starts to decay pretty quick. Roads, rain shelters, ziplines, etc. Not to mention raiding them in silly ways is fun.
Also its fun to grab other players dropped shit and bring it back.

It isn't about consumerism it is about the aesthetic it brought. Same drinks so much monster he pisses neon. His fricking water filter magically turns it back into Monster energy drink. He is the ultimate hiker and refuels with lmao Monster™ energy. Unless you are one of those sheep that see product and buy product it really does frick nothing at all negative. If anything it makes the story even funnier because either it takes place in the future from now and that is the only recognizable shit from today and those AMC/ABC ads for a shitty tv show Norman Redus was in when you shower... or there is an alternate universe where basically only those things ever came into fluition. To reiterate your claim yes Monster does suck dick, but so does all energy drinks for that matter. It's a gimmick product to begin with.
Why is the bike handling so fricking shit man, legit keeps the game from becoming an 8.5/10 for me
Would rate it 7.5/10 imo
Once you master the bike it becomes the best thing in the game. You can jump 30 feet into the air easily and climb over any rock or mountain.

It has a few essential changes like letting you use floating cargo containers on ziplines which helps the endgame not be fricking awful.

I managed to get all the achievement for this game and i started around october, and he still hasn't fixed the mod till now lol.
