AA has a worse cc than KK but it's more of a game. Characters can love or hate each other independent of your input, more factors influencing H scenes, etc. High purity characters might require you ask them out and go on at least one date, low purity might cheat, you can rape or be raped and some of them might like it. It's got a sandbox feel.
In my first playthrough I figured out that you can make high purity girls put out sooner by making them fall for you, frick a bawd in front of them so they get jealous and then pick the high purity one when she competes. The girl I was using to get to her turned out to be a yandere though and murdered me the next day. I deleted the game when I started becoming fond of a character based on pic rel.

Chara studio using timeline, I just grab timelines to frick my waifu in by replacing the characters, but there are many timelines about the characters just dancing like morons.

AA2 if you want to properly immerse yourself in a school environment, Koikatsu if you want better customization and better H gameplay, Koikatsu Sunshine if you just want to play the main game at an island resort instead of a school.
I played AA2 like Koikatsu so when Koikatsu came out it was just a direct upgrade for me. I still play Koikatsu and Koikatsu Sunshine to this day I love the games but I have no desire to play AA2 anymore. Such a small amount of voice lines in AA2 its way too barebones.

I know the AA2 code like the back of my hand and I can identify voice lines by their internal filenames. I used to just listen to voice lines outside of playing the game. AA2 is not capable of receiving the entirety of a KK personality. One date in KK has the same amount of spoken dialogue as one entire AA2 personality.

tbh I was always turned off by KK personalities and their ports to AA2 are mid to awful. To me, going on dates in KK sounds as pointless as it is in AA2 because of how little it matters. At least in AA2 it's useful as a love boost in case you frick around too much.

Unity is extremely easy to mod. You basically have access to entire game's source code and can inject your own code anywhere.
