A lot of people don't seem to realize it but Xeno fansites in the early 2010s were really divided over Xenoblade 1 (largely against it) with the main issue being the story and characters being heavily toned down compared to Xenogears or Xenosaga, so it's not really a surprise that they favour Xenoblade 2 instead for its more complex narrative despite it's wacky tone.

I've seen people go through shit like this before and it's the best option. If the allegations aren't serious (as in raping or killing or whatever) you can just bide your time and most worthwhile people will get over it.
