they're all bad games
Yes? I never said they weren't. Don't know about you but I don't let nu-Ganker dictate what games I do or do not like
They're good but they're not replayable. There is no variation in questing or outcomes. You just do the same shit every time no matter who or what you are.
This only applies if you're doing every faction quest on one character, and grinding out levels so you can be the one handed, medium armour, stealth archer destruction mage.
Role play a bit.
>but they're not replayable
there are probably more people playing these games right now than whatever you consider replayable
>They're good but they're not replayable.
Compared to games like Anthem and all the Marvelslop I'd say they are doing pretty well for themselves.
>Anthem
kek I don't think even the developers themselves remember this turd
>'Anthem is bad' meme
its too boring to be bad
I forgot just how terrible that game was and you go and remind me.
it doesn't need to be "replayable" when one playthrough can last longer than 20 average games combined
>games notorious for being replayed
>not replayable
Good lord, the shit people say on this board.
The first two are, the last one not so much. It brought nothing new to the table.
Skyrim is just too dumbed down. If Skyrim was more like Oblivion it would have been better. It's too mainstream for the lowest common denominator. Oblivion was journeyman game on the way to completely selling out. Skyrim felt neutered immediately and pre Skyrim, i don't remember Elder Scrolls being that popular at all. Not to the extent that it was from Skyrim onward. If you look at most game series, you can usually spot where they went fully mainstream.
fun to play, fun to watch someone else play it, fun for porn
Skyrim has terrible writing, no role playing elements, and bad combat. It's also butt ugly and the main gimmick of fighting dragons is so poorly thought out and is just terrible.
Oblivion also has lousy writing, 2 voice actors, a baffling leveling system designed to destroy the pacing of the game, terrible combat, and again no roleplaying.
Morrowind is the best of the bunch, but not by too much. It's still a busted game, but it's writing and world building are leagues above the rest making it seem better. At the end of the day it's still made by Bethesda who fundamentally don't understand RPGs
>fighting dragons is so poorly thought out and is just terrible.
It is terribly boring. Only Bethesda can make the act of fighting dragons that heinoisly dull.
>bitches about oblivion not having enough voice actors
>fails to mention that most npcs in morrowind aren't even voiced
I always forget some people that are mentally slow like 3 more than 4 or 5. lol, isn't it past your bed time?
>only dialogue is roleplaying
it is you that does not understand what an RPG is
Fallout 76 is the only bad game Bethesda has ever made
I was able to enjoy Oblivion and Morrowind vanilla so much that I could replay them that way but Skyrim wore itself out quickly and a replay was not worth it without major modding required.
So outside novelty Skyrim is no good but the other two I could play all the way.
Skyrim streamlined too much and it's instance that classes were just numbers and nothing more ruined it.
Every time i try to replay it i just can't. It's too streamlined and on rails.
it really surprised me when i realized most people just do one character
Morrowind determining combat via dice rolls in a real-time 3D action framework is, was, and will always be an abominably terrible design choice that fundamentally cracks whatever good the game might otherwise be
Skill issue
It quite literally has nothing to do with player skill
And Oblivion and Skyrim do?
Yes
RIP Jeremy Soule.
I can go back to both Morrowind and Skyrim but Oblivion just feels dull and awkward now.
If Morrowind didn't instantly filter so many people with the stamina system, it would be acknowledged as one of the best RPGs ever. Once you get to a point that you can actually hit people in melee, and if you set your Speed to 100 via console commands, it "feels good" and you can move on with actually playing the game.
I'm pretty sure hit% filtered more people than stamina
I thought it was the same system. You run to the dungeon, so you go in there with 50% fatigue, can't hit shit, so you clickclickclick even harder and keep missing, and then you have 0% fatigue and the enemy collapses you with a single punch. And you think, "This is what I have to deal with to get these fricking kwama poachers? Frick this game."
And I think that's why Skyrim went the complete opposite away and got the most fanfare, because you have to clickclickclick like a moron. That constitutes a combat system.
>Skyrim went the complete opposite away and got the most fanfare
Oblivion removed the hit% entirely.
Skyrim removed Stamina from the equation entirely.
Nobody got filtered by combat, it's the most basic and easy thing to undestrabnd. want to be good with swords? put skill points into swords WOOWOWOWAUAHHASHAHAHAHACABOOOOSHHHH super complicated bro wow what complex rpg you must be actually Darwin for understanding that. Most people got "filtered" by how boring and mmo-tier the quests in the game are and how dead and unreactive the game feels.
I'm getting stumped hard in Arena.
Monsters spawn in towns, I try to move out of it and it seems like I am going nowhere.
Tried 8 different characters/classes and none of them click
>Arena
Why would you do this to yourself? It was never a good game.
arena can have its moments, redguard and battlespire on the other hand tho
Redguard is fricking good, the hate it gets is literally a meme perpetuated by people who never played it
Yeah no shit the performance is choppy, wow what a deep and insightful analysis
These all released in literally unplayable states. How does Bethesda get away with it?
Morrowind: clunky interface, as delivered; can be tedious to get to where character feels capable and can deliver fun
Oblivion: clunky combat, ranged is hopeless; messed up progression system can trap player into a character type they didn’t intend
Skyrim: boosted the graphics, ok; ranged not much improved; world is emptier (just doesn’t have as many interesting things happening as Oblivion when walking around)
>world is emptier (just doesn’t have as many interesting things happening as Oblivion when walking around)
You literally could not be more wrong, holy frick
Morrowind's interface is the least clunky of any Elder Scrolls game. Everything is movable and resizeable and it opens/closes instantly. Oblivion and Skyrim have such shit interfaces that the very first mods people usually install are interface mods.
I hated morrow wind and I hated skyrim
Oblivion was alright but not enthralling
Morrowind sucks
Oblivion is fun to frick around in and has the best memes.
Never played Skyrim
Daggerfall is better than the 2 ive played.
They aren't good, but I happen to enjoy a lot of bad games.
Daggerfall is also a great game.
Came to post this
why the horse? stylepoints?
Of course.
I'd say it aged, but I think there was some graphics overhaul for daggerfall.
>heard good things about daggerfall unity
>it's really easy to mod and you can pretty much go wherever you want and do whatever you want
>boot in game
>get my ass wrecked by a fricking bat
>exit game
There are mods for that.
I never played Oblivion, the faces are simply too much for me.
>Good
>Shit
>Decent
Nope, try again.
I never denied it.
False.
Only oblivion was ok.
I was able to enjoy Morrowind and Skyrim vanilla but I found Oblivion only tolerable with a lot of mods piled on. Can't really put my finger on why
The content is well worth the trouble however, so many memorable characters and questlines in that game, more than the other two combined imo
I played daggerfall as a kid exclusively because you could play as a girl and get completely naked
I like them all and got hooked on the series recently.
They were good games for when you was a teeny homosexual want to wanted to RP/play a stealth dickass archer Thief. That was the only reason why Elder Scrolls got as popular as it did because no other game did the same.
morrowing is more the mage phantasy then the thief fantasy
>Literally just described Thief.
i love the elder scrolls setting and i wish there were more spin-off games with smaller, more focused stories set in it. but nope, let's just make a shitty MMO, some chinkshit card game nobody played and a predatory mobile game instead. i hate bethesda so fricking much.
Morrowind was good, but it really kicked off this trend of people thinking you can make really shallow gameplay seem interesting just by throwing it in a big mostly empty world and letting you explore it at your leisure. Works better there than the other two because Morrowind has a certain alien surrealness to it while Oblivion and Skyrim are much more generic fantasy settings comparably.
>le empty world
This isn't Zelda, In Skyrim you can literally walk 5 minutes in any direction and find content often with a quest attached.
Yeah but I'm tired of pretending Skyrim isnt the best of them, in terms of visuals, music, gameplay (yes it's shit but better than IV, III doesn't count because cool magic isn't a substitute for the actual physical bonking of people), the variation in the map, and yes even the dungeons it's way better than both others.
>Zelda
>Empty
You know there's absolutely nothing cool at the end of those golden turds.
How rotten must your mind be if you instantly associate what appear to be mere gold droplets as shit?
Cuz there ain't no gold at the end of any of those nuggets. Just breakable junk, and more dumb shit to collect.
Did you forget the part where Hestu literally takes a big grumpy in your hands as the end to his character arc
>collect shit
>collect seed
>do simple puzzle designed for child
i have an itch to replay that dlc, but i'm not ready to play a character up to level 25 just to start it
You can go in at level 1 if you like.
you're right even the uesp doesn't mention anything, i was under the impression that the quest was levellocked.
Why were Ayleids so fricked up? Though its worlds are beautiful, why is TES's story so evil?
the world isnt evil, it just isnt constant dicksucking
Virtue isn't dicksucking, that sounds like hedonism.
tes also has its virtuous characters, but most of them are imperfect beings like gortwog or, as in the more recent installments, brain dead bbegs
I know, but at times it feels like the world has enough heroism to not die, but never to win, with those perpetual existential crises hanging over it, humans get a tough life in it.
I like the setting, but it gets increasingly unpleasant or heartache inducing under examination, to say nothing about those creepy IRL vibes when interacting with Daedra.
Meridia is a nice example of this. She's beautiful, but she's not "good", as expected, but it hurts somewhat.
meridia is a fun one, oposses undead but if you're too devote you become a brainwashed puppet
Oh I know, I was just lamenting.
What is there to lament?
Eh, you won't understand, it seems.
I have a good one, we know that Meridia had multiple conflicts with Molag Bal, Nocturnal, Azura and Ebonarm but what about Namira?
wtf is that Morrowind logo
moon and star
Only one is good, but I won't tell you which one (I know the correct answer)
I'll let you guess
Hint: It should be obvious
blades
my bbc is a good game for your girlfriend
yes, yes they are all good.
for me to poop on!
2011 was a long time ago...
Yo Cuando Yo
Why would you want to play arena?
daggerfall is definitely playable and fun to play
why not a self experienced story is something different than reading the uesp or watching a video and arena can be fun
Playing Skyrim again and it's pretty boring now. Worried I'll feel the same about Oblivion.
Oblivion has mostly the same boring combat (skyrim one is worse tho, somehow) but the world is a lot more fun, skyrim NPCs and quests are so fricking boring
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/81066/?
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/82251/?
Not clicking that.
They aren't games they are walking sim trash. I've never played an open world nuRPG that didn't make me fall asleep. How can you cretins tolerate such shallow combat and rpg elements, no level design, and idiot-proof quests? Between the huge glaring arrow showing you exactly where to go at all, autosaves every second, infinite saves, incessant mission objectives and all of the other handholdy crap it doesn't even feel like I'm playing with game. It feels like I'm just doing fricking chores. And yet, absolute garbage like skyrim has permeated into the entire industry. Sterile open worlds have become a tick mark on all devs inclusion list. This shit is worse than the collectathon and rivaled only by the sonygroid cinematic ots shooter as the biggest cancer to ever afflict gaming.
I could not fricking stand playing Morrowind.
Oblivion was ok. Kinda bland.
Skyrim was finally the game that hooked me.
oblivion was awful
Morrowind and Skyrim are more replayable than Oblivion for me but they're all good
all good but Oblivion is the best
morrowind and oblivion are great by themselves.
skyrim is only with a shit ton of mods.
Morrowind was good for it's time and the best of the three.
Oblivion was just downright awful.
Skyrim was entertaining for a short while but incredibly shallow.
bot post
Yes I am a robot. Now suck my mechanical dick.
slit your throat
damn
Yes, for different reasons. I'm either in the mood for Morrowind, Oblivion, or Skyrim. There's a never a time when I'm just in the mood for "elder scrolls" and pick only the most recent game. Each has their own charm, style, and feel. More classical RPG mechanics in an alien world? Morrowind. Cheesy high-fantasy medieval adventure that's also unintentionally hilarious? Oblivion. A more immersive, dark-age setting where I want to beat the shit out of things? Skyrim.
Personal favorite is Oblivion. I love the setting, how it's probably the only Elder Scrolls with a proper "paladin" questline(KotN. Dawnguard for Skyrim didn't really hit that), and has the most enjoyable gameplay mods for me. Oscuro's+Frans+some block/stagger changes to speed up combat, and the rest just being visual or minor shit like fixing beast races(human feet/legs on beast races bothers me) and diversifying loot tables, and I'm a happy camper who can play that game from dawn to dusk for weeks at a time. I love the other two as well, but I play Oblivion more than either.
Skyrim & Oblivion are good.
Morrowind is... meh.
People who say Skyrim is a bad game are just contrarians and none of their opinions should be taken seriously.
Morrowind is the greatest western rpg of all time. Oblivion is 8/10 Skyrim is complete trash
No, THESE are all good games.
falseflagging troon
except morrowind
lore and setting is amazing but as a game it sucks
Skyrim is not a good game. Put as many mods as you will on top of it, the truth remains
