Not even close. All the hunts in remake are unique monsters that revamp the original model both strategy-wise AND looking-wise.
If you want to make an argument that hunts arent what they used to be, then check FFXVI. From 30 or so hunts, only 10 or even less are real unique monsters. The rest are all just slightly stronger versions of the original monsters. No new appareance, not new attacks, no nothing.
