it is annoying, lots of devs already siting it as a huge problem as the move away from cross gen starts. Plus these things are selling way more than Series X, so they'll be looked to as the defeat Xbox
>lots of devs already siting it as a huge problem as the move away from cross gen
t. Your ass, which can't even spell citing correctly.
Developers who do not want to optimize their code(not talking about specifically for this, I mean in general) are not worth listening too. Every dev that has said its holding back gaming turns around and shits out a game with bloated sys reqs for their paltry visuals, and is absolutely not pushing any boundaries anywhere except in regards to the number of particle effects they can fit. It has a good processor. It has an ssd. It can do everything the big boys can, at a lower resolution. Scalability is not holding back gaming, it future proofs it.
Not the series S fault that dime a dozen McDevs can't figure out how a processor that is magnitudes better then last gen and an ssd could possibly improve the part of a game that actually matters, the game, because none of them have ever even coded their own engine.
No systems are "holding the generation back" devs are so fricking pathetically lazy with optimization these days we could be on supercomputers and they'd still make games 2000x bigger than halo 3 in size that run 2000x worse and look perhaps 3% better in graphical quality
>system that can handle raytracing and 1440p graphics with fast loading times is holding the generation back
dumbass bait. maybe if devs optimized their games instead of shitting out bloated uncompressed messes, we'd have better products. the series s is capable of 4k as well but it's up to the developers to actually give a shit which is rare.
>system that can handle raytracing and 1440p graphics
lmao name 3 games
series shit is already dipping to 540p 20fps in games from last year. microsoft is disgusting
If anything its given people a cheap way of getting into next gen and makes for a great emulation box. You can all the way to wii on it which is insane for only $300 (250 on sales).
niKKa the 3060 laptops almost never go lower than $1000, and a 3060 mobile is basically a 3050 not-mobile which is a very close match to the series s gpu anyway.
>Less than half of a Series X >3/5th of the price
No, no, you're right. Pay $300, get $200 worth of hardware.
the series x is a better deal ofc, but good luck finding one
you can buy a series s without breaking a sweat
Lenovo has one for 800 now at my local shop
It's screen is trash...but it has a 3060 16gb ram and a Ryzen 8c cpu.
Still no games that fit run in my 970

I don't care I would neve get anything like it I was just saying.
I'm sure both people who managed to get a PS5 are seething right now, but meanwhile in the real world these things are with a handful of exceptions sitting in Chang's and Pajeet's respective basements waiting to be scalped. Say what you want about the Series S, the fricking thing actually exists. You can walk into a store today and buy one.
The fact that something like RDR2 can run at 4k/30fps on the Xbone X is proof enough that when devs actually put time into optimization, you get fricking miracles.
imo the Switch is more to blame for holding this gen back. At least you can play most newer releases on Xbox S. Can Switch play Elden Ring? didn't think so.
MS is throwing a huge wrench in the wheel of gaming but everyone celebrates it anyway because it's been completely fricking muh snoy up (which is their goal too) >cheap, underpowered machine compared to ps5/xsx to catch the attention of all poorgays >infinite pockets to sustain all big game pass releases, tempting poorgays and forcing sony to do a much worse version of it >infinite pockets to do acquisitions, again, forcing sony to do the same, but their budget is far from being equal
They're bringing the fight straight to the dirt and it's genius. Game pass is the big deal breaker. Playing starfield day one for dirt cheap (along with a bajillion of other games, shitty or not) sounds a million times better than spending 70 bucks on some exclusive. Very few games warrant that kind of spending
it is annoying, lots of devs already siting it as a huge problem as the move away from cross gen starts. Plus these things are selling way more than Series X, so they'll be looked to as the defeat Xbox
Why do devs even bother? Just make it run the Series X version and let Jesus take the wheel.
because then Microsoft won't let them sell their game on Xbox at all
sounds like a good way to not get game pass money. the same reason why they won't want to skip the xbox completely.
>manchild in charge of figuring out companies need to make money

I'm glad Microshit did this. Now my PC got another year of life.

This the system's are ridiculously overpowered and deves from the 90s would make magic on these things
halo 3 still looks better than infinite in some instances.
Open world was fricking pointless, especially given that most of the zones in prior games were a perfectly good size
>system that can handle raytracing and 1440p graphics with fast loading times is holding the generation back

Mass Effect Legendary Collection thing
RE8
Scarlet Nexus
>520p 20fps
wtf?
it's that not a fricking mess of a game ( is devs fault then) i'm an automatic pistol
any game properly optimized aka none since they're all built on some bloated-ass broken drag-n-drop moron-proof game dev engine these days
lmaooooooo this moron thinks the series S can handle ray tracing, what a dumbass
can't tell if moronic bait again or not, but look it up, there are games with raytracing on the series s.
Yeah Xbox games suck because of this thing, they're totally unlike those immaculate PS5 exclusives like, uh...
If anything its given people a cheap way of getting into next gen and makes for a great emulation box. You can all the way to wii on it which is insane for only $300 (250 on sales).
>noooo you must drop $800 + BLM tip to play shitty PS3 remakes like me
LOL
LMAO even
What can I say, pay $300, get $300 worth of hardware.
actually if you compare performance you need about $800 for a matching PC.
Nope at 800 you can get a laptop with a 3060 more storage and ram
niKKa the 3060 laptops almost never go lower than $1000, and a 3060 mobile is basically a 3050 not-mobile which is a very close match to the series s gpu anyway.

No, no, you're right. Pay $300, get $200 worth of hardware.
reminder this thing can play ps1 games better than a ps5
it has full access to the entire PS1 and PS2 catalogs for free
snoys have to pay $120/yr for a few ~~*(select*~~) titles
you can't make this shit up
>t. publisher that still releases games for ps4
I'm sure both people who managed to get a PS5 are seething right now, but meanwhile in the real world these things are with a handful of exceptions sitting in Chang's and Pajeet's respective basements waiting to be scalped. What is it holding back exactly? We're deep into the point of diminishing returns, so far the hot thing is raytracing and its a complete meme.
The fact that something like RDR2 can run at 4k/30fps on the Xbone X is proof enough that when devs actually put time into optimization, you get fricking miracles.
Would you care to explain how?
You do realize the ps4 is the reason why "next gen" games like street fighter 6 look like hot ass right?
Funny I was thinking bad art style but ok
Once again, a Sony gay posts these bullshit meme...shortage...
First off, the Series S is more powerful than like 60% of gpus everyone is using on steam..
Second. All a dev has to do is make the game for Series X, then lower the rez to 1080p for the Series S....
If anything is holding devs back its the fricking chip shortage...
>pic relates, average Sony Black person poster
>Sony
Rent-free, schizo.
SHIIIEEEEEEEEEET TONAGHT WE FLY HIGH CRACKA
>image
Is that real?
Based MS, now I don't have to upgrade to enjoy 4k
>Implying this generation will ever get started
It doesn't worth like that, moron.
Japanese deves will just start skipping xbox
imo the Switch is more to blame for holding this gen back. At least you can play most newer releases on Xbox S. Can Switch play Elden Ring? didn't think so.
Who cares, visuals have been stagnant since 2016 anyways. Make actual good games.
If MS was smart they would let you use Series S performance profiles on Series X for maximum framerates
MS backwards compatibility is overall better, but I like that PS5 gives you the option of installing PS4 versions instead.
You have that option on series, but its locked behind the external hard drive paywall.
True
Clever.
