They've been making rather dumb decisions lately. I didn't pick up Legends because it was so close to BDSP and I already had my fill of Pokemon, and I still haven't picked up the game tbh, and I know I'm not going to play Scarlet or Violet anytime soon since I plan to play Legends first. They're releasing too many games lately.

This is literally just the dubbed version of an arc in the current anime that already aired in Japan. It aired right around the time PLA was released.
This isn't a shock, no one predicted the game will do that well. Let's be honest here, the game is a glorified open-world stealth game. Instead of knocking people out, you capture monsters. But it just ended up with that right amount of stealth, battling and exploration with a lot of charm. At the very least, this means GF now recognizes PLA as a huge success and DLC will be on its way.

With all the Sinnoh remakes recently, Dawn has been coming back as a recurring character. Right now the anime is doing a world championship thing bringing back champions from all the regions (Ash is the Alola champion)
It's still going to end with Ash vs Leon in the final battle because Sword and Shield is still the current competitive game.

If you weren't moronic or living under a rock you'd know this is due to the anime's current release schedule outside of Japan and you'd have been aware of this for a while now.
The anime is released in the typical Netflix batch outside of Japan meaning episodes are released ridiculously late compared to the original airings. The Japanese dub for these episodes aired 2 and 1 week ahead of release day respectively IIRC.
The Pokemon anime's release outside of Japan has been all kinds of fricked. It had been struggling to find a consistent home since the later episodes of XY, XYZ in particular. It was either given dead timeslots on CN or released via Amazon video.
If you compare the time between the JP and EN release it's insane how long more recent episodes take.
The next JN episode waiting to be dubbed was released in Japan last December. For comparison, SM91 was originally release in Oct 2018 and dubbed Feb 2019 and XY91 was released Oct 2015 and the dub was released less than a month later.
Netflix batch releases really frick with how episodes get released and when your anime is supposed to have promotional tie ins, that fricks with it even more.
This isn't uncommon. Gen 9 anime will come out later this year. This will probably be a mini season that will last for a few months. They did this before gen 6 and I think gen 7 too.
Nvm it's just the dubbing of the arceus episodes from earlier this year. I don't keep up with the ashime outside of /vp/ browsing
you know whats worse, the shorts they did in this region and the one before it are like 300x better than the shitty show thats for some reason still going.
xy and sun and moon shows are probably the only times they actually tried something interesting but its back to the usual shit for the next gens.
