You are putting the cart before the horse. It legitimately was fricked from the word go. They could have made Alan Wake 2 a perfectly serviceable and accessible game and it would have failed because it is on the EGS. The only actual difference with your flawed mentality is that it will inevitably come to steam and fail there, too.

No black woman on Earth - outside of some diversity hire game reviewer - bought this game with the intention to play through it. ZERO. Absolutely none. An Indian or Asian protagonist would make complete sense.
Why is this in any way surprising?
The closest I've ever been to Alan Wake was that one DLC or whatever part of the Control game and even I know the Alan Wake 2 went full woke and the only reason it appeared in whomevers game awards is because its corpo shit
