>are those apples better than those oranges?
Pros: >it takes more from Aliens and Isolation than Prometheus >tactical gameplay is mostly ok and well executed maneuvers are satisfying. >game is hard enough to force you to think some choices through and not just roll your face over the keyboard
Cons: >characters are comically one-sided (greedy CEO, tuffguy sarge, strang wahmen, mad scientist) >plot is idiotic >plottwists are predictable (whaaat? Corpo is actually greedy and evil? Putting live alien on board is actually a bad idea? How could that be?) >on the plus side, at least the plot is consequential. It doesn't pull magic out of it's ass to resolve a situation, but they use things that are actually there. >classes are unbalanced (what is the point of Tech and Gunner? Sarge and Scout are obligatory.) >bugs everyehere
>Predictable plot
Thats just them being safe and going with a standard plot for the franchise, boring I know. >greedy ceo, tuffguy sarge, strang wahmen, mad scientist
Also assuming it isn't the modern version of strong women thats completely normal for the series; as for others see above >Unbalanced classes
yeah thats really lame >on the plus side, at least the plot is consequential. It doesn't pull magic out of it's ass to resolve a situation, but they use things that are actually there.
homie you put a pro under cons.
disclaimer I haven't played it but so far it sounds good.
>what is the point of Tech and Gunner?
The drone is completely broken, you can avoid every nonscripted enconter by just spamming its noise button and funnelling every enemy in the area into a room
Gunner makes suppressive fire more suppresive and I guess that's okay?
This game came to me out of the blue but i was pleasently surprised with it. Played trough it twice in a row, a thing that i rarely do with games. I didn't encounter too many bugs or atleast nothing a reload wouldn't fix
They tried an alliteration, but they don't have English majors on their team... no, literally, they don't have English Majors on their team, best they could do was a Corporal...
Title of the game should have been: Aliens: Anomalous Ascension
Stealthing around the Montero is fricking tedious, loads of cult patrols on such a narrow area is fricking annoying. I go guns blazing and get overwhelmed by all of the xenos during onslaughts
Enjoyed it for the most part but it's obsessed with its own story and characters, which I don't care for, I just want my marines and a bug hunt. I have no reason to care about Hayes, Harper, or his daughter.
After a round of updates this game thankfully isn't as broken and bug infested as it originally was. As a big fan of the franchise I think Dark Descent nails the theme and feeling of Aliens better than any other game in the franchise. It is to Aliens what Isolation is to Alien.
It's also decently challenging and the Xenomorphs aren't weak or stupid which is good. Not being able to save manually means that your actions actually have consequences so you need to legitimately plan and prepare before heading into combat.
Shitty broken buggy launch aside, I really liked this one.
I liked it a lot, despite classes being a bit unbalanced, but the ending fricking sucked. >walking segment at the start which I'll excuse because the location is just so damn cool, what I cannot excuse is... >...Maeko and buddies turning into Warhammer Terminators all of a sudden, leaving behind literal Xeno carpets, no explanation given for their unreasonable strength >escape sequence with Cassandra and Maeko sucks ass >extremely abrupt ending, don't even get to see my Marines again, no real explanation given as for Hayes or Cassandra's powers, sequelbait maybe?
Overall still a solid 8/10, and probably the best Aliens (not Alien) game yet. Wouldn't mind an expansion.
The verdict is your shitty coomer alien pic killed thread discussion compared to the last one.
Game is fun. I played through on Hard/NOCHYS on my first playthrough and didn't grind before the countdown and had no issues completing with several days to spare. The death clock wasn't that big of a deal, honestly. You'll lose some days to events but that's factored in.
What a god-awful OP, die moron.
I WANT TO FRICK A XENOMORPH
I'M TIRED OF PRETENDING THEY ARE NOT THE HOTTEST PIECES OF ASS IN THE GALAXY
They are literally penis monsters, why are you gay?
Xenomorphs are dickheads, just the facs.
>Xenomorphs are dickheads, just the facs.
Finally someone who isn't afraid to say it. Where can I watch your vlog?
normally they are drawn like shit, this one is really hot. Is there more?
wrong post

is this your type of thing? it is mine
do you guys not know who designed them or how they were originally portrayed?
Yeah it was that guy who made the radiation meter right? Guess all those rads gave his imagination cancer.
Giger, you sick frick.
I thought it was really fun the day it came out but I haven’t played it since. Not entirely sure why.
Why don't more videogames feature a species of xenowaifus like this?
Decent gameplay. Dumb plot. Moderately buggy. 7/10
I'm holding off until the update logs no longer read like
>fixed an issue that made all side-objectives in chapter 3 impossible to complete, should be good now
Hell if I know, but thanks for the ayy gf.
Is it better than Fireteam elite at least?

The other things dont bother me as much as this. Fricking modern gaming
>not just roll your face over the keyboard
>whaaat? Corpo is actually greedy
This post reads funnily.
holy shit i didnt even know this was a thing. AVP Extinction was amazing; thanks for this bad thread, OP.
i pirated it, got thru dead hills, deleted it. i will play it again when i buy it. i will buy it, its good
Gave up halfway through. It's a decent, fun game at its core, but has lots of little issues that make me want to not bother with it.
I got the game on PS5. Game plays great with controller, but man is it buggy. At one point the game just stoo working out the blue.
